The food was flavorful. My friend ordered the namesake quesadillas, and I ordered the jackfruit tacos with mango salsa. Double the flavor - we shared our meals. Yum! The portions were large, filling, and pleased my soul. What I thought to be a side of mashed sweet potatoes was warm, smooth mashed beans. Tacos and quesadillas on point. Purple wild rice was a delightful surprise. Diversity in texture, flavor, colors, and quality ingredients. No better way to catch up with a friend than eating outdoors at Beyond Vegan!“

“Shojin was absolutely amazing. The customer service was incredible. The staff was so so so nice and super friendly the entire time. They accommodated us so well and made the whole experience feel special. Even though you eat vegan sushi it feels like normal sushi!!

“I came across Playa Provisions when in town for business. It was a short Uber from the airport, so I figured I'd give it a try. This place is an absolute gem! It is a unique setup that has everything you'd possibly need from morning until late at night: Cafe in the front for coffee and fresh baked good, as well as full breakfast menu. Later in the heat of the afternoon, take a break from the beach (right across the street) and enjoy hand scooped specialty ice cream cones and shakes. Oh look, it's dinner time... and Playa Provisions opens their dining room and bar, some of the best, most relaxed ambience you'll find for miles around. But don't let the casual setting fool you, this is some incredible, elevated cuisine. Chef owners Nick and Brooke (who you might recognize) crafted a menu that's I've been eating my way through, and have yet to find a dish that's not delicious. You've been eating and drinking all day, and are exhausted? Don't leave yet! Wander into the back 'secret' whiskey bar, (Grain Whiskey Bar) and enjoy hand crafted cocktails from award winning bartenders (no, literally), in a gorgeous wood laden atmosphere. We were able to sneak in a quick breakfast before our whale tour at the Little Italy location, and thank goodness we did! My only regret is not visiting every single day for their exceptional breakfast and high-quality juices! I ordered the All I Avo Wanted - Blue corn, waffle, smashed avocado, feta, shaved radish, over easy egg, chili flakes, hemp seeds, salsa macha. I mean, holy moly. The delivery was beautifully executed and built perfectly. The blue corn waffle was moist yet firm. My mother ordered the Shakshuka - another favorite dish of mine that WOWed. You can not go wrong with Parakeet. Thank you to the divine chefs and baristas - you made Parakeet the most beloved restaurant during our time in California!!!“

“The pasta was delicious, but we had to wait 15 minutes to be acknowledged, and when they did take our order, it was for everything and they “ran out of bread we run out all the time” at 7pm on a saturday. Restaurant 101: greet guests quickly, offer them some wine / drinks, even if you’re delayed on taking their order. Also offer more salad options or appetizers and we would’ve easily ordered dessert if it was offered.“

“My partner and I LOVE Vegan Glory! We have enjoyed everything we've tried on their menu, and the servers know us well by now! (They have a LOT of regulars.) We bring in everyone who visits us from out of town and we like to tell the story about the time we sat one table away from a famous musician. Our favorite menu items include: Vietnamese bun / Papaya Salad / Freshy rolls /Spicy Yakisoba /garlic green beans / pineapple fried rice / Khosoi (yellow curry noodles) / Yellow Curry / Pumpkin-Eggplant tofu / Hong Kong Eggless Noodle in Tom Yum soup with fried Impossible dumplings (that one's not on the menu but you can ask for it). They have several protein options: Soy Chicken /Soy Pepper Stake / Seitan / Soy Fish / Tofu / Soy Shrimp / Soy Chicken Nuggets We often get Thai tea (and sometimes carrot cake to take home). Staff has always been friendly about making any adjustments (sometimes I'm craving a specific vegetable), and if you get Joy as your server, she'll make lots of recommendations.“

The carbonara noodle - I don’t really care (It doesn’t really fit with the rest of the dishes) - overall is a great place to enjoy Japanese foods“
