“Love the pizza! Great flavors and combinations. The sandwiches look amazing and will definitely be trying them some time soon. The fresh bread puffs they make the sandwiches with you can order as a side also. Yummy! Staff is super nice and helpful. I got salads and pizzas for a large group and everyone enjoyed it!“

Casa Nostra Trattoria on Sunset Italian • $$

“Excellent service, and extensive, interesting menu choices, including an impressive list of specials. Duck ragu was delicious, as were sand dabs (which are hard to find and greatly appreciated). Having learned it was our anniversary, Casa Nostra gave us a delightful surprise--delicious housemade tiramisu, best I've had in a long time. Also a good wine list, reasonably priced with Italian selections as well as California.“

“Truly a hidden gem! I don't usually post reviews but I have to tell people about this place! Dropped in with a couple friends. I had the pappardelle bolognese. Fresh pasta made in the house! My friend had the Pollo Limone (lemon chicken). She loved it! My other friend had the Dover sole special with the lemon mustard dressing and the server debone the fish at the table! So cool! Great wine list and delicious food! Hostess was so funny and a joy to talk to! A definite must go if you are in the area! They also have a deli we will try next time. We will be back for sure!“

“Salve Signor Giovanni! Si ricorda di me? Sono il ragazzo che venne da lei a cercare lavoro nel lontano 2009. Mi mando' da lei Massimo. Volevo fare il lavapiatti! E lei mi disse che dovevo stare in sala per via del mio bell'aspetto... sempre secondo lei. Mi auguro che il ristorante le vada alla grande e le auguro tutta la fortuna d'America.“

“After a fulfilling 3.5-mile hike with a friend, our appetites were ready for action. Initially, we had plans to dine at Matthews Garden Cafe next door, but their willingness to accommodate two people and a stroller left something to be desired. So, we ventured next door and settled by the fountain in the outdoor seating area. Our culinary journey kicked off with the delightful indulgence of warm bread, impeccably paired with a truly delightful olive oil and balsamic vinegar duo. What followed was an unforgettable bruschetta - easily ranking among the best I've ever savored. The tomatoes burst with flavor, harmoniously balanced with just the right amount of garlic. The toasted bread, brushed with olive oil, elevated the experience to sheer perfection. Don't miss this dish. For our main course, we decided to share the pasta special of the day, Rigatoni Romana, and a pizza. The rigatoni arrived cloaked in a delectable pink sauce, escorted by pancetta and red onions. The flavors were spot on, although I did wish for a bit more crispiness in the pancetta. As for the pizza, we opted for bufalo mozzarella and added meatballs, mushrooms, and olives. The mushrooms did introduce a touch of sogginess, as expected, and the meatballs could have benefited from a tad more salt. Overall, the pizza was decent, though we couldn't help but wonder if it might have shone even brighter with fewer toppings. In summary, our dining experience was truly outstanding, with the bruschetta and pasta special stealing the show. It's worth noting that we customized our pasta with a generous sprinkle of Parmesan and a pinch of crushed red pepper, which elevated its flavors even further. While the pizza had its moments, we couldn't help but speculate that a simpler approach might have yielded a more remarkable outcome.Kid-friendliness: They had high chairs available and overall had a very accommodating attitude.“

“An old eatery, well established and tried by years. Very traditional, Italian food, clean, honest, and the most evil garlic knots you've ever tried. It will be virtually impossible. Not to ask for the second serving and you will take your food home because it's not possible to eat all those nuts and whatever you ordered. Calamari was amazing and the dipping sauce was true to what it should be. Stay away from the garlic knots.Lol“

“My friends and I came here on a Sunday around 12:30pm, and were seated right away-- given that this feels like more of a dinner place, there was plenty of seating. The staff was extremely attentive and were so generous! After ordering they gave us complimentary bread with tomatoes during our wait. Drinks were constantly being refilled, and the way the waitress and owner talked about the food made it evident they really cherish the food and restaurant! My friend and I shared an Uovo Benedetto (prochiutto) and a Gnocchi Modo Mio, which were both amazing! I love the poached runny eggs and the hollandaise sauce paired amazingly. Their vegetables were nicely seasoned and delicious as well! I will say, the portion is a little small for this dish, so keep that in mind. The gnocchi was so fantastic, the sauce was to die for -- I loved the pesto take on the creamy red sauce. And the gnocchi themselves were pillowy and just the right softness! My friends and I appreciated the complimentary bread you get at the beginning (we even asked for a refill), it was toasty and soft. I also had a bite of the tiramisu that my friend ordered and it was such a creamy texture, I loved that it wasn't too sweet or overpowering but the sauce and spongy layers went so well together. In all, I recommend trying this place! Such nice staff and yummy food!“

“Nicest people ever work here. This place is a Valentine’s Day tradition for me and my super cool gf, and they always knock it out out of the park. Gnarly Hawaiian is so good. Pricier spot, but hey, you get what you pay for: some damn good pizza from some cool people.“

“We had an unusual evening at Angelini. I had made reservations for my wife's birthday and asked them if they could acknowledge her in a low key way. Things got off to a rocky start when the hostess offered us an indoor table, then asked us to wait a minute while she checked to make sure it was ready. She came back and escorted us to the worst outdoor table on a very rainy and chilly night. We asked what happened to our indoor table that she offered on our arrival and she was flustered and inarticulate. We decided to stay, though we were tempted to simply leave and go elsewhere. Things got better from there. The food was delicious and bountiful. However, the outdoor space is chock full of tables and noisy diners. It was hard for us to converse with one another in the din. It was also very chilly despite a number of propane heaters stationed throughout the area. Much to my surprise and dismay, no one said a word to my wife to wish her a happy birthday. She wasn't miffed because she did not expect something. But I would have preferred if someone from Angelini had wished her well on her special day. Bottom line: very good food, quite pricey (but worth it), attentive service once you get past the poorly trained receptionist. This is a restaurant that needs more indoor space and a less densely packed patio. And they should read OpenTable special requests to delight their customersfurther.“
