“I wanted to love it. The staff and food were good & my server was great. The setup is awful. My meal began with ordering on a shared tablet. The food came out too quickly. I had a miso soup & salad -- but my entree came out before I was even close to done with either. Then the kids/mall of it all. A kid loudly banging on the piano outside, another kid refusing to put his phone away to eat -- kids screaming and whining. It's not the experience I want at a restaurant, certainly not at sushi. The restaurant has little to no control over that, so no stars off for obnoxious other guests. The TVs ruined the vibe. It's so cute inside, why ruin it with screens everywhere???? Paper menus, ask the mall to move the piano, ditch the TVs and it could be a really great place. Still good food and workers. Not sure if I'll go back soon.“

“All the food looks amazing! Unfortunately, a most of the fishes on the nigiri was kind of tasteless so it's hard to distinguish between the pieces. I didn't like the fish eggs because it was slightly fishy - this might be my personal palette though. The eel with avocado and cucumbers was really tasty.
Note, I suggest looking at what you're purchasing because the fish pieces might slightly differ in size. And for the price your paying, you probably want the bigger pieces like how I would.“

“This was a surprise dinner my friend invited me on. The hand rolls are so fresh and delicious. I had 5 amazing rolls that come out one at a time for freshness m. The server was super sweat and helped me pick out what I wanted. The menu does also have set options, but I decided to do individual rolls. I definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the Oakland area.“

“I've been many times and always enjoy the food. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary today, so in my reservation request I asked if they could play our song after we got there. Without saying anything to the staff about it when we arrived, the song came on a little after we were seated. We both teared up a bit; it surprised me how something so simple could feel so special. The thoughtfulness, sustainability and conscious touch to every little thing made this Omakase experience above the rest. Additionally, our wonderful Chef sang accolades/praises about all of the sources he gets the pieces of the meal from, but did not once brag about himself. He needs to be bragged about! Chef Joji Nonaka is incredible. The art, precision, talent, and thoughtfulness he has is unmatched.

Good:
- The sushi was amazing- we just split 5 rolls amongst 3 of us and it was just enough food
- I liked the sunflower roll and the lion king roll and the baked rolls - the baked ones come with smaller portion sizes though
- The staff are very nice and service comes quick - especially for some of the more popular rolls
- Tasty cucumber salad and edamame
- Very clean interior

Bad:
- The place is pretty small so limited seats available
- Gets expensive

“This is a great little place to have sushi for lunch. I ordered a salmon teriyaki box and there was a generous portion of salmon, rice, salad, and veggies. My husband had a sushi box and said that it was very good. The prices are reasonable considering the location. The restaurant's very small so there's not much seating but it's possible to use a couple of picnic tables outside.“

If there is any hesitancy it's just that the cost adds up quickly (about $50- per person) with two cocktails and two sparkling waters and no dessert.“

“We came in on a late Friday night and were immediately greeted by the friendly and warm hostess. The lighting is intimate and the seating is well spaced. Genuinely greeted by the chefs and the waitresses. Ordering was easy and there were so many options to choose from. I went with my favorite basics to test them out and I am so impressed. We got the happy hour specials, California roll and spicy tuna roll, fresh and tasty. Followed by chicken skewers that were soooo juicy and delicious. I ordered the Toro and I cannot begin to describe how scrumptious it tasted. Soft, buttery smoothness and beautifully presented. Finished the dinner off with the avocado and cucumber roll which was delightful and light. The rolls are plenty and full. The ratio of rice to meat is exactly what you want, balanced and on the meatier side.

They were receptive to our special requests for sides of lemon and spicy mayo.

Our water was refilled often and tasted great, clean and fresh water with NO weird smell or aftertaste. Just saying, that is definitely a win in my book. I like my water to taste like water and their water is exactly that.

The prices are very fair for the area and the happy hour pricing is even better.

“I've gone to all of the sushi restaurants in Pinole and I even though this one is a little further away in Hercules, it is by far the best. The fish is so fresh, the rolls are delicious and the prices are reasonable. This is my go to place for sushi.“

“Beautiful little stop. I will say they probably haven't seen such business ever! 2 people running around serving everyone. Trying to keep up. But people kept cutting in line and a group of 3 college kids ordered to go then sat themselves at a table in a private space in the kitchen, ate their food, and left a huge mess. Through it all staff was courteous and friendly. More patience then I would had have. On a normal day I would expect the service would be faster. “I came here with my friends while we were on a field trip and the atmosphere was super cozy, they had good R&B playing and it was lowkey aesthetic. I had the dragon roll, my friend had the sushi bae roll and we both shared the philly roll. We really liked the sushi and we finished it super fast. “My Husband and I have been looking for a solid sushi place for us and our two teenagers. As you can imagine finding a place to suit everyone can be a challenge. After 2 misfires we landed here and though the other two might be nice for an array of other reasons, this fits all expectations across the board.

The environment is very cute and like being immersed in a sushi place in Japan(Gorgeous woodwork). The staff was friendly and there was a lovely live musician that really said the environment to the next level for a Friday night out with the family.

The food was incredible and since we went for happy hour, everything was priced better than just about any Restaurant we’ve been to recently. The rations in the rolls were proper nice chunks of avocado!!! GET THE SPIDER TACO!!!

I make use of the parking lot, the restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the food is great!
