“Was planning going out to there sister store for dinner tonight but they where closed and after doing more research I found there sister store and had to try it out.Was pleasantly surprised by my deluxe nigiri it had many different kinds of fish choices on it. As well as the meals my group had and the lady that served us was very nice. Definitely will come back again.“

“This takeout only spot has the MOST affordable and FRESH sashimi and sushi in the entire Bay!! The omakase box features fresh pieces of salmon, tuna, fatty tuna, roe, and scallop for $16.99. Zero fishiness at all. But my favorite is actually the seared salmon—omg it literally melts in your mouth 👌🏻👌🏻 The California roll uses actual snow crab and all their other rolls are good too. Only thing is they don’t open on weekends but they have a location in SF now. Highly recommend!“

“This was the BEST food I've had in years. I sat there and literally closed my eyes so I could savor the experience and feel ever morsel move through my body. We had the Richmond Roll and the Pink Lady. The vegetarian options are so delicious that I am going to go back over and over again just to try everything on the menu. I literally stopped my conversation because I was having such a spiritual experience with the food. I could not focus on anything other than enjoying it. The customer service was incredible. The staff was so friendly and kind. The presentation of the dishes is immaculate. I felt like I was getting a Michelin star quality meal.

I just went for date night with my daughter (back from college) and had the best sushi in the Bay Area!!!

The Omakase was superb!!! The highlight was hamachi with truffle and the unagi was the best I’ve ever tasted.

We also had the lion king (because which was “just right”!

Our server was terrific - she recommended the chef special, Ika Sugata (Grilled whole Squid with Jalapeño & Mango 🤩)

We also got the delicious Garlic Edamame and took an order of Matcha Tres Leche to go.

It wasn’t “cheap” but it was soooo worth it!!!

“Best sushi in the city. The chefs are super talented and the waitstaff are always great. Food is top notch. Good selection for different fish and apps. I usually go for omakase, but sometimes the kira kira or ninja roll. The atmosphere is not too loud. You can usually find parking within a couple blocks.“

I came just before they were closing for lunch and people were steadily coming either to pick up or eat-in up until their closing time. My favorite was their hand rolls and the hirame usuzukuri (like a carpaccio). Even their green tea was made well, not bitter at all - so smooth. I dont think you could get anything wrong here.“

Wouldn't really recommend dining in, since there are only a few tables and students / delivery drivers are constantly coming in and out; however, table service is offered, and the owners will make your order fresh.“

“We loved our meal at Tane Vegan Izakaya in Berkeley! The things we got for takeout, ranked in order of deliciousness: 1. Pacifica specialty roll, perfect tempura eggplant, AMAZING creamy aioli 2. The Wedge specialty roll, so flavorful, just the right level of spice 3. Da bao, bean curd was especially good 4. Kailua specialty roll, very good but we preferred the other specialty rolls For some reason this actually seemed better than Shizen in SF, which we've also tried. Not sure why. Both are good though! Sushi was amazing, the wait was a little long, but if you’re on a date totally recommend, I ordered sushi and another thing ( don’t remember the name, but it was delicious),

“Small shop with warm food and an open fridge section of sushi. There was also a wall of snacks. Prices are very reasonable. No verbal communication which I think is fine but the woman dropped my packed sushi upside down and then tossed it into a bag. Sushi rice was a bit too hard for my liking.“

A little spendy ($27 for a 3-item box once tax/tip is added) but generous portions - I ordered the 3-piece sashimi, rock n roll, and salmon teriyaki, and it came with miso soup, salad, and rice as well. The staff were very friendly and courteous, I can tell they take pride in their work. The sashimi was delicious, great texture and taste, and the size of the cut of sushi was not stingy. “This was the first time my husband and I ever heard of this restaurant. We were a little worried about coming in as the closing time was only about 30 minutes after we arrived. We were welcomed and sat immediately. The Nigiri was absolutely amazing for AYCE. The pricing was decent for two people. Sure the rolls are smaller but it makes sense for an AYCE establishment. The service was pretty good just a very minor issue of waiting between orders but that is understandable.
I highly recommend this place should you have the urge to eat 45 pieces of nigiri 🤣“

Sashimi was good, the 49er roll wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be but this pace was still great. Staff was very courteous and the food came really fast. They also give you large portions. You'll get full fast at this spot.“

“I came here with my friends while we were on a field trip and the atmosphere was super cozy, they had good R&B playing and it was lowkey aesthetic. I had the dragon roll, my friend had the sushi bae roll and we both shared the philly roll. We really liked the sushi and we finished it super fast. The staff was super sweet and super awesome, then when they told us about the pictures that they took for their poloroid wall, my friends and I were super excited. We had a really nice experience here and it was very hospitable. I will definitely be back when I have my next field trip in Oakland. Loved it!“

“Dinner started off strong with flavorful chicken and beef skewers, and the salmon kama was a highlight—perfectly cooked and delicious.

The rolls were less impressive. The Rock & Roll and Spider rolls were drenched in eel sauce, which overpowered everything. I’m always a bit cautious when sushi comes heavily sauced—it feels like something’s being covered up. The sushi rice was also a bit soggy.

The uni, saba, and hamachi sushi were all fresh and enjoyable, though the uni portions were smaller than expected.

Bill came out to over $150. A little pricey for what we got, but with smarter ordering, I’d give it another try.

“My Husband and I have been looking for a solid sushi place for us and our two teenagers. As you can imagine finding a place to suit everyone can be a challenge. After 2 misfires we landed here and though the other two might be nice for an array of other reasons, this fits all expectations across the board.

The environment is very cute and like being immersed in a sushi place in Japan(Gorgeous woodwork). The staff was friendly and there was a lovely live musician that really said the environment to the next level for a Friday night out with the family.

The food was incredible and since we went for happy hour, everything was priced better than just about any Restaurant we’ve been to recently. The rations in the rolls were proper nice chunks of avocado!!! GET THE SPIDER TACO!!!
