“My family and I had an amazing experience at Sunset Indian Cuisine last night. We love trying new places and this was the one which didn't disappointed us. The ambiance was cozy for a relaxed dinner.
The food we had was so delicious. We started with the noodles, which was amazing with less oil. The Juicy Chicken Momo with chutney on the side was incredible. We also ordered Garlic naan, which was soft and warm, Tandoori chicken, Chicken curry, everything was perfect. The service was perfect with friendly and attentive waiter who was knowledgeable about the menu.
We'll definitely be back to try more of their Indian and Nepalese dishes, and we highly recommend this place to others !“

“I had a great experience. The server was probably busy and the one who accommodated me was actually doing dishes. Later, both of them helped me pick a palate. Jhol momo’s jhol was a bit thick for my taste but it did taste wonderful. Very good atmosphere, very good service and tasty food.“
“One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had!
Staff were beyond warm and welcoming; they shared their culture with us alongside their cuisine.
The butter chicken, mango lassi, gol gappa, chai, and everything else was perfect and in great portion sizes.
10/10, will eat again“

“Visited on a weekday night with a friend. We had the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, papadum and the wings. I also got the mango lassi which was so so good. Everything was so delicious and we've tried a couple of Indian restaurants in SF already -- this was truly outstanding! It was pretty affordable, service was quick and friendly. We will definitely be back.“

“We were initially worried that the menu was so huge they couldn't do everything great and – but they did! The four of us ordered something from every part of the menu and everything was delicious and well prepared. We especially appreciated the advice on spiciness – all of us, but one love spicy food, but we were warned that their level of spice is higher than most people‘s comfort level. So we ordered medium, and that was just perfect. We tried the Momo, the tikka masala, roti, samosas, and the delicious chicken sandwich believe it or not. Everything was wonderful. The server seemed new and a little clueless, but very friendly and helpful.“

“This truly is the best Indian food i’ve ever had. I used to live a couple streets away, and would frequent this restaurant. Every time, the food was consistent, fresh, and flavorful. Tara Indian provides good sized portions, and they don’t skimp out on the meat and potatoes like a lot of other Indian restaurants i’ve tried. A few months ago I moved out of state, and I have not been able to find anything that even compares to Tara Indian. I miss dining here, and look forward to coming back when I visit SF.“

“extremely bad tasting food and bizzare combinations....miffed at kichadi like biryani with no flavour and being served with aam ka achar....god knows how this restaurant got Michelin star rating ....Shame on the chefs and the owners for ripping off the customers with overpricing of the food for poor service, absence of any ambience or decor“

“I went for a birthday dinner celebrating my partner and we were a food sensitive, time restrictive, six person loud group. Rose's has an extensive vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free menu! They boasted that almost any vegetarian curry could be made vegan and they were very clear about dishes that didn't contain gluten or cross contamination. We ordered a lot of food and dishes, had a few people order late due to traffic, and watched the restaurant go through what we later learned was 120 orders between take out and dine in. We had to leave about an hour in and hadn't gotten food aside from appetizers so the host allowed us to convert things to take out and come back for them later. They were so understanding and we were expecting push back but they were incredibly apologetic. We came back about 2 1/2 hours later and our food was hot, they let us have a table again, they even remade the naan and let us take home the extras! Then they brought out free rice pudding as a thank you for patience (which we totally didn't expect because we were the ones being inconvenient) and then when we sang happy birthday to my partner they quickly brought out vegan ice cream with a candle and sang! Above and beyond, a night we won't forget and hospitality that came from extremely passionate people. Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness and patience with our big birthday group <3. We split the bill between four people and it was only about $40-$50 each which is absolutely so shocking for the volume of food we ate! Everything was delicious, their specialty naan are all wonderful, and they've got some excellent fusion items too. Go outside your normal order for this place; you'll be absolutely amazed.“

“We stopped there on our way to catch our flight at SF airport. We were short on time and we placed our order. Our server was fantastic helping us to order and we were served our dinner promptly. There was a feeling that all the staff worked together as a team, looking after all the tables not just their own station. That is a sign of true teamwork. We really enjoyed our dinner there. Food and service~ EXCELLENT!“

“We recently discovered a new local Indian restaurant in our neighborhood, located near Safeway in Pacifica. We tried the goat biryani, chicken curry, and garlic naan, and all dishes were exceptionally flavorful and well-prepared. You might want to customize the spice level; while the restaurant's dishes are milder than other places, they still offer a satisfying heat suitable for those sensitive to spiciness. The portion sizes could be slightly larger to better match the typical serving sizes at similar Indian restaurants in the area, especially considering the price point. The service staff is attentive; they check on your table frequently and ensure a pleasant dining experience. However, adding a selection of imported Indian beers, such as Kingfisher or Taj Mahal, could enhance the authenticity and provide more beverage options for customers. The restaurant features a casual ambiance with a quiet atmosphere, spacious tables, and comfortable seating. I plan to continue supporting this establishment as one of the most authentic local Indian restaurants in Pacifica.“

“I recently visited this Indian restaurant and was blown away by the variety on the menu! From rich curries to sizzling tandoori platters, there’s something for every palate. But what truly stole the show for me were the momos and chowmein absolute perfection!
The momos were juicy, flavorful, and served with a spicy dipping sauce that packed just the right punch. The chowmein was delightfully savory, with a perfect balance of spices and fresh veggies a comforting, street-style classic done right.
Whether you're craving traditional Indian dishes or something with a Nepali flair, this place delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore bold, authentic flavors in a cozy setting!“

“We’ve moved to different parts of SF and have searched high and low for Indian restaurants that could live up to Tilak. We’ve come close but Tilak is really in a league of its own. The butter chicken is so rich and flavorful, hands down the best in SF. Our favorites are the butter chicken and the biryani, which comes topped with strings of sweet caramelized onions. We alwayslook forward to going back.“

“My family and I absolutely love this restaurant! We tried a lot of Indian restaurants all over the Bay Area, but this is, by far, our favorite!
The tandoori is ridiculously good and the nan is so fresh and bubbly! I am vegetarian and the rest of my family eats meat so we always get the curries in vegetarian and chicken. We never have anything left over because it is so insanely good. Tonight we dined in the restaurant for the first time instead of ordering out and it was such a treat! The owner was a complete sweetheart and provided us the best customer service that we have had in a long time. It’s always convenient ordering to our home, but we will surely be back for the warm welcome and delicious food! 🙏🏼❤️“

“Finally had a time to leave review for this amazing place that we dined 2 times while on our trip to California.
The place is amazing with variety of Indian food options, place is also cozy and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Coming from
Canada and finding a comfort Indian food, we came across this place and thought to give it a try and our first experience on first day of trip made us come back on the last day of trip too.
Their veggie biryani was everything, their curries were delicious too and the Mango lassi was yummmm 😋
The staff, specially Arjun and Arun were the most amicable and friendly. They provided good suggestions for the food to eat and places to visit as well. Their service was also excellent leaving our experience as memorable as possible.
Will definitely recommend this place for a good, friendly , comfortable qnd welcoming experience for anyone visiting in and around the area.
P.S: @Arjun @Arun hope you remember us as we do( an Indian couple with a 3 yr old whom the complimentary yummy mango lassis was offered ❤️)“

“Golden Gate Indian Cuisine and Pizza has been my rock for the last 5 years. I swear their food has cured hangovers, the flu, heartache, and bad days. I have only ordered take out, but feel very welcomed by the owners and staff every time I pick up. So much so, that my fiancé and I are catering our welcome event through them. Here’s our go-to order: 1. Veggie Pakora 2.Bindi Masala (my personal favorite) 3. Lamb Biryani (Fiancé’s favorite) 4. Vegetarian Tiki Masala 5. Naan/ Garlic Naan/ Onion Kulcha.“

“Outstanding Indian food in a casual and cozy location. The food here is probably the best Indian food I've had anywhere. We had the Butter Chicken and Lamb Vindaloo with garlic naan. Both dishes were authentic tasting and superbly prepared. Neither dish was overpowering in spices or heat. You could tell fresh spices, seasonings and ingredients were used. Servings were ample too.“

“Im guessing based on the items on the menu that this was North Indian/Nepali cuisine. The hakka noodles were amazing and so were their curries. The butter naan was fluffy and soft but a little different from regular Indian naan that I’m used to. But it was a “good” different. Parking was available when we arrived but seeing that it is streetside parking, it might be difficult during packed hours. There seems to be a public parking closer by.“

“We went in the evening after dancing. Very nice, very cozy, the freshest hot food, the dessert was especially delicious - not cloying like in the supermarket (where they use sugar substitutes), real, cold. Who wants silence and the smell of Indian spices, without pathos and excessive high prices and markups - you are here. paid only $38 Immediately remembered the Goa area ...“

“Having spent time in many villages in the Gorkha district and having close Gurung friends, I can say with confidence that Gurung Kitchen is absolutely perfect. The food is incredible — traditional, authentic, and beautifully prepared. Every dish feels like it was made with care and love, just like in Nepal.
The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming, with lovely flower and butterfly decorations that make the space feel warm and special. You’ll notice that many of the guests are Nepali, which tells you how true to home the flavors are.
The service is gentle, kind, and attentive — you really feel taken care of here. This is a restaurant that serves not just food, but genuine hospitality and culture.
Definitely a must-visit in San Francisco. I’ll be coming back every time I’m in the city!“

“Dosa Express was amazing! The owner was friendly and the service was great. We came in for breakfast, and the food was so tasty and reminded us of Kurnool-style flavors that we ended up ordering takeout too. The ghee podi idli was the best I’ve had (even better than Mylapore in Sunnyvale). We also took Gongura rice and Coconut rice to go, and both were delicious. Highly recommend!“

“If definitely satisfied the craving for indian food. My boyfriend and i have nut allergies and the staff was very attentive and made sure there would be no cross contamination. The chicken vindaloo was great paired with the garlic naan and the complimentary rice they serve you. The chana masala was decent but not my favorite that i’ve tried. Overall the service was great and the food was good and comes close to my favorite indian spot in north beach. Will definitely be back!“
