“Rose has been my go-to donut/ coffee/ breakfast spot for over a year now. The Vietnamese iced coffee is AMAZING. And the staff are so sweet and friendly, it’s definitely a neighborhood gem. Only downside is you need to get there early in the morning before the line starts!“

The old fashioned donuts are perfect, they use REAL custard in their Boston cremes (none of that Bavarian cream cop out stuff), and the classic donuts are airy and delightful, without tasting of oil (which is a mistake many donut shops make). Donut Star has succeeded in making the optimal donut in all its forms. It’s delightful, impressive, and sure to bring me back!!“

A dozen was another $16.96 each. a little girl came in for 2 doughnuts and tried handing owner cash...he brushed it away and told her...just get me next time. How sweet and charming to know your costumers and tell them to pay next time.
I will say they are a little tricky to find because they are attached to a taco shop. I suggest signage in planter box of parking lot showing an arrow?? Easy to miss the turn.“

“They gave both our kids free samples as soon as we walked in the door! I asked if they had sugar twists and they were out but she went back and .ade me one on the spot. That is above and beyond service. It took a while for the kids to decide what they wanted but she was incredibly patient with us. Incredible service. “I’ve lived in the area for years and finally tried this place—what a little treasure in our community! I needed to pick up 5 dozen donuts for my team at work, and since I was heading in early, I placed the order a couple of days ahead. They took down all the details, including a small special request, with no problem. When I arrived at 5am for pickup, everything was ready and absolutely perfect! From the friendly service to the delicious donuts, the whole experience was fantastic. I’ll definitely be back!“

“This was my first time stopping at Tasty Donuts. I had been craving a donut for weeks. I got an apple fritter and a glazed blueberry old fashioned. Like I said, I had been craving a donut - ONE. And I left with two. And I swiftly ate half of each, in my car, as I drove home.

To say they were delicious is a tremendous understatement. The apple fritter was moist, chewy, and the perfect amount of sweetness. So yummy! The blueberry old fashioned was moist and dense all at the same time, glazed just right - not too much, and not too sparse - and it was delicately sweetened, which was ideal.

One of the things I loved about both treats is the just right amount of sweetness. It wasn't overly sweet where one experiences cavities on the first bot, but it also was not bland. I nursed the remains for two days after. I kept them well wrapped to retain as much freshness as I could. And the total for both was only $3 and change! I was pleasantly surprised.

I will return. I don't eat donuts very often, but when the craving hits again, I will most assuredly revisit Tasty Donuts. I was quite pleased. Enjoy your visit... and heck, splurge on two. You're welcome. ♡“

“Apparently this doughnut shop has been around for a long time. I driven by here hundreds of time and didn't even know it was there. I stopped in for a maple old fashion and a cup of coffee.

The maple old fashion was very good. It had those good crisp edges and soft middle. The maple flavor was very good. The lady Chen, dropped a couple of glazed doughnut holes in my bag and they were good. The coffee was very good. It was of the drip variety and it was smooth with good flavor.

The owner Chen was very nice. She was a one woman crew when I came in, and with several customers, the handled it well with a smile on her face. The doughnut shop offers a variety of doughnuts, breakfast sandwiches, frozen yogurt, and ice cream.“

- the ladies that work here are super sweet, and always hook my kiddo up with an extra couple donut holes.

The bummer:
Unpredictability with opening/closing. Showed up today at 9:10 am, lights off, no donuts in the display. On their Google page, and their window, says they should be open. This has occurred at least 3 other times. Perhaps need to call before making the drive to come here.“

“Got this via door dash bc of a craving on a Saturday. Did not expect them to be the freshest donuts I’ve ever purchased. Maybe I got lucky, but the oil used was new, did not taste the oil. These fritters are absolutely ripped with chunks of apple contrasted by the crispy edges from a perfect deep fry. Plus they're so big you might have a hard time eating a whole one. Though I managed to persevere in the face of near defeat and won.

“There were two extremely patient and kind girls working the counter today and they made this place worth talking about. We are from Orlando, FL and we have been itching to find a good Boba spot for the last 4 days. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I already won the lottery. Their churro donut is phenomenal and light, but what really impressed me was when we went off menu and I asked for a taro coconut item. One of the girls said that she likes those two best when they are mixed together in a smoothie and...she did not disappoint. The taro coconut smoothie is better than anything I have tried in Orlando. In addition, I decided to try something new and asked for the pink coconut milk tea (essentially it was strawberry and coconut). Once again, I LOVED the drink. I hope I do come back to San Diego soon and bring family along with me because I loved the atmosphere, employees/customer service, and menu items.

I have a dairy allergy so these two drinks made me feel like there is no other place I would rather be.“
