“The legendary San Francisco institution featured by Anthony Bourdain, Guy Fieri, and more does not disappoint people!! The carne asada burrito (get it el dorado style) is a must: no rice, just juicy meat, beans, salsa, and cheese, with a crispy, golden tortilla. The line moves fast, so don’t bother phoning in an order bc it won’t really save you that much time. Cash only but I saw they had some sort of card reader now.“

“My friend, Mike, who lives nearby with his wife, raved about it so much that my BF and I decided to come after a short trip to Marin. It was everything that he described and more. It was fantastic! Excellent food and atmosphere. Will definitely add to my list of favorites and will recommend to my Palo Alto friends!“

“We have been going to Pizetta for too many years to count now. Always yummy, craveable pizzas and interesting starters - not your ordinary starters. They are ever-changing and highlight whatever was freshest from the farmer's market. Don't forget the desserts which include always-available options as well as specials. They can get busy (because they are just that good) but, we think, it's well worth the wait. Wish they'd open other locations but understand the desire to stay small and true to their roots.“

“Old times friends from Marin (2), San Francisco (1) and Contra Costa (1) meeting on the only weekday that very sadly, Zuni remains open. Thus tough commute home for most of us. Always the biggest and freshest selection of oysters anywhere. We ordered more than one round of multiple kinds of oysters. Beyond that a drink; everyone opted for a hamburger (which was unusual but of course very satisfactory) so this is not your usual review!; coffees. Outstanding waitperson. Note: We did make a rez (weeks before-earliest we could get was 1:30). It is clear that Zuni has been written up in tour guides and the number of obvious out-of-towners appreciating Zuni was huge and amazing. Lots of people in general. Lots. We all have been going to Zuni since it opened years ago and at least it has survived the pandemic and the lack of workers in the City. So many restaurants collapsed and so many no longer serve lunch or like Zuni are only open on one or two days. Pathetic.“

“We walked in on NYE without a reservation and they graciously found us a spot in the bar area. Service was on point and staff were festively dressed! I love a crafty cocktail but most are too sweet. I had the Smokey mezcal cocktail 🍹. Perfection. Appetizers were delish as well. Perfect way to start our NYE celebrations.“

“I've ordered delivery from here 5 times.
Solid food (except the one time I had a scale in my sushi roll). Not bad service (wish they'd be more accommodating with requests). Takes too damn long to make (~80 min ETA every time on DoorDash).
Prefer Sushi Shio. every. single. time.
P.S. will add more photos of the food if I ever order from here again.“

“California-style Cantonese cuisine! I really like the decoration style here, which always makes me feel better when dining here. The golden lotus chandelier and the gold and silver wire lamp are definitely the best decoration! 👍The pastries here are also worth mentioning! Pineapple buns, wife cakes, black sesame banana cakes with miso sugar!“

“Very intimidated by the long line out side but they were very very efficient! The signature ramen was Devine! The egg perfect! The duck matcha was super fun but beware it might keep you up! We got edamame and the fried mushrooms too which came out in what felt like seconds. The mushrooms I will be thinking about for all time.“

“We had just read the top 100 BayArea restaurants and found the HK Lounge and decided to try it. I am so glad we did. It is one of the best dim sum I have eaten outside Hong Kong., Each item was freshly made, and tasted exactly like the ingredients that are. outlined. We loved the soft shell crab, the duck dumplings, outstanding, and the sticky rice in lotus leaf was beyond any one I have ever had, The restaurant is small but we had a reservation and it was honored in a timely fashion. It can be loud when it is full, we had a later time and it became quiter. The staff was kind and attentive. I can't see going anywhere else but HK Lounge.“

“The chicken tangine was superb...very tasty, moist, tender. Mourad can lay claim to the best chicken in San Francisco! The basteeya was so delicious with all the Moroccan spices and light flakey phyllo pastry. The plates came out looking like pieces of art.“

“First time here. Ordered the pizza focaccia and the rosemary garlic focaccia. You can taste the aroma of the tomato sauce and the light texture of the bread. The sauce didn't make the bread soggy as I was thinking it would. The garlic/rosemary was my favorite of the two. For you garlic and rosemary lover, this is the one you must try. Fresh garlic taste with the awesome smell of the rosemary. This would go great with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. You need to go early before they get sold-out. I will be back for other selections.“

“Chef Azalina's restaurant in San Francisco's Tenderloin district offers an exceptional dining experience that goes beyond just food. It's a testament to passion, perseverance, and community engagement.
The cuisine is remarkable, showcasing meticulous attention to detail in both flavor and presentation. Each dish demonstrates craftsmanship, with a harmonious blend of tastes that speaks to the chef's skill. The menu features unique ingredients, including an herb reminiscent of Fruit Loops cereal. I'm not going to write too much about food because I think it's borderline just pointless to describe food in words.
What sets this establishment apart is Chef Azalina's commitment to her craft and community. She maintains close relationships with her suppliers, including fisherwomen from Half Moon Bay, ensuring the highest quality ingredients and supporting local producers. I'm convinced that if there were 1000 more Azalinas in SF, this would be the greatest city on earth.
After my meal, I had the privilege of speaking with Chef Azalina for two hours. She shared fascinating stories about her relationship with food, the inspirations behind each course, and her experience as a restaurant owner in the Tenderloin. Her passion for culinary arts and dedication to her community were obvious.
Chef Azalina also opened up about the challenges of operating in the Tenderloin. Many potential patrons unfairly dismiss her restaurant due to its location, overlooking the exceptional culinary experience it offers. Despite this, she remains committed to her vision and to making a positive impact in the neighborhood. Her presence has contributed to the neighborhood's revitalization, demonstrating how a restaurant can be a force for community improvement.
Azalina offers not just a meal, but an experience that combines culinary excellence with personal passion and community engagement. It's a must-visit for those seeking innovative, thoughtfully prepared cuisine in San Francisco, and a shining example of how food can transcend stereotypes and transform communities.“

“Really sumptuous lobster roll. The butter flavoured brioche was loaded with a generous amount of fresh lobster meat. It was not overly seasoned which allowed the original lobster savouriness to shine through. The price doesn't come cheap but it's still worth it given the large portion and quality of the lobster. It was definitely the best lobster roll I have ever had.“

“We changed our travel route to make sure we make it back to La Ciccia! Wonderful flavors as we remembered from a couple of years ago. We were so excited to dig into our favorite dishes that we forgot to take pictures. The owner was lovely and brought out the lamb dish because she had forgotten to tell the server that we asked for the next dish. (which was totally not expected but we really appreciated) After the first-time dining here, we made it a goal to visit Sardinia. Hope to continue to dine here when we come to San Francisco for years to come! Can't wait for this spread again: Pani Guttiau (Traditional Sardinian Flat Bread baked with EVOO and Pecorino) Casisceddu e Rughitta (Burrata cheese Arugula Anchovies and Truffles dressing) Malloreddus a sa Campidanese (Semolina Gnochetti Pork Sugo Pecorino Sardo Dop) Pasta Cruzza cun Arrizonis (Artisanal Fusilli Sea Urchin Tomato Anchovy (Cured Tuna Heart) Gamberoisi Arrustiusu (Oven Roasted Whole Prawns Basil Oil Parsley) Pezza de Angioni a sa Saba (Seared Lamb Tenderloin Tagliata Sardinian Saba) **the special surprise** thank you!“

“I loved the variety of flavours at this restaurant. It’s a great place for people who don’t typically eat Indian food, but want to try it. Highlights were the dosa and bone marrow. Only thing is some dishes were a bit dry/tough (the large beef dish and the fried chicken)“

“First I learned the pronunciation of Donaji, a Oaxacan Princess, is (doh na hee).
A friend and I had margueritas: he had the Coco, and I had the Cadillac. Both drinks were delicious. There was no G4 Reposado, so they graciously swapped in another delicious, smokey Reposado.
We split a Mercado Ensalade, and there was plenty to split. The greens and oranges were fresh, and the pickled onions and hibiscus vinaigrette were just the right combination of sweet and sour.
He had the mole chicken enchiladas with a side serving of rice to ensure all the delicious mole was eaten. The combination of 26 ingredients blended to mole perfection was made for a flavor packed entree. I don't like mole, so I ordered the Mole Rojo Spare Ribs, without the mole sauce with a side of refried beans. What came to the table was the delicious Mole Rojo 1/4 chicken, without the mole sauce. I let them know I had ordered the Spare Ribs, and they apologized for the error, and said it would take a few minutes. I hated the thought that the chicken would go to waste and I decided to keep the different protein. I enjoyed a perfectly cooked piece of chicken, with a wonderfully spiced crispy skin with a small portion of pickled vegetables.
When our waiter returned with the dessert menus, he also brought two complimentary shots of Mezcal, orange slices an Tajin spice. The waiter again apologized for the order mix up. The smokey Mezcal was very smooth, and the orange slice and Tajin spice really elevated the taste.
We split the Churro Donut with warm chocolate sauce. Again, like all the other food, the churro was perfectly crisp and without any deep fried oily-ness. We struggled to use all the silky smooth, pourable chocolate sauce!
We both felt <$60/ person without tip was reasonable for the quality. At 6 PM parking in yellow loading zones on 24th Street was readily available. On a Wednesday night a DJ started to mix at around 8:45 PM. The DJ was experimenting with the sound volumes and eventually got it right, so conversation could be said & heard across the table.
This is definitely a place I'd recommend to friends and family.
Definitely a place to return to“

“Finally went here! Was a solid 4/5. We were walk ins, which is great that we could get seated - but the communal table felt really tight. Not very romantic. Vibe was a little sterile, and we felt rushed at the end (got our check as soon as we ordered coffee and half way through dessert). The pizza was decent but a very chewy crust. Pasta was delicious - a corn flavor. Could come again but not a must!“

“Wonderful food as always. Kitchen was a bit busier than usual, so the staff brought an extra vegetable dish (pickled veggies) between courses and also gifted us an extra dessert. Focaccia is to die for, the stone fruit salad and halibit crudo were wonderful, the summer squash blossom pizza excellent, and the gemele with pesto was yummy. We always order the hazlenut budino for dessert; they also brought us tiramasu. The cocktail menu has changed and we loved the new cocktails. While I'm not a big tiramasu fan, it was excellent. You can spend $100 per person (alcohol, tax, tip, etc) in SF and get a mediocre meal; at che fico, you will get an outstanding meal (and the $100 per person includes alcohol). The pasta and salad servings are small, but they fill you up quickly!“
