Get #33 with the 3 toppings and make sure you mix well. server was so friendly too“

“Long Xing Ji is a beloved Jiangnan-style Chinese restaurant that recently relocated from Fullerton Plaza to Baldwin Park. Weekend waits are common, but the food is worth it. Highlights include juicy crab roe soup dumplings, classic xiaolongbao, crispy red bean pancakes, and flavorful stir-fried dishes with real wok hei. Consistently satisfying and hard to miss.“

“Had dinner here with a large group. We were VERY well attended to. Our server, Frank, took exceptionally great care of us. The presentation of the food was amazing, from the seafood, to the various meats, to the Peking Duck. Great experience, definitely recommend.“

“I googled "best Chinese in LA" and then this popped up as the #1 place. So we drove - and had a very good meal. However, if you expect the classic Chinese dishes, you will be disappointed. This is Shezuan, "a different animal". So no rice, no sweet-and-sour-this-and-that. So be prepared for very spicy Szechuan food. Noodles. No rice. Try the dumplings, they were delicious. We ordered mild (1 out of 5 spice degrees) and we were burning inside (we had two separate orders of dumplings - but spice grade 1. There is no consistency, so be careful). So if spicy is what you are "in" for, you'll love it. The ambiance is sort of authentic ;-) - the sign on how to use the toilet (outside the restaurant in the alley) says more than words. But then, it was $100 all-in for the four of us only. My advice: I could barely understand the service language. Better check the menu before you go. As we were first-timers, I wanted to share three starters and three mains among the four of us and leave it up to the waitress to make us explore - she did not understand. I asked if they served beer. The answer was "noodles or dumplings". :-)“

“Very nice small restaurant selling specialty noodles and some side items. The potato noodles have a firmer texture, kinda like soba, the soup was delicious. Chicken bone was also very good. There was an old couple working there, very friendly. Price was reasonable, highest it goes was $13 for the house special noodle. Overall a great place to try something new and unique.“

“Like this spot and it’s consistently good. The cold pot fish isn’t actually cold — the fish and broth are hot when served, just not kept boiling, which keeps the fish super tender. Lots of fresh black fish slices, very clean and flavorful.
Also loved the golden soup tofu beef — rich, tangy, and generous with the beef. Service was friendly and patient as always. Solid spot in SG that never disappoints.“

“This new location seems smaller than their previous spot. Doesn't seem they're fully set up yet as we got disposable bowls for rice and individual disposable cups for hot tea ($1.50 per person).
Food is still consistent though! Mushroom in brown sauce ($12.95), vege fish in brown sauce ($12.50), and tofu pumpkin hot pot ($12.95) are still good choices and they're all on the lunch special menu!
Surface level parking in the plaza gets congested very easily, so try the 2 levels of underground parking for more spots.“

“Let's get the not great out of the way; it's an undecorated banquet hall, and it's very chinese. Just take a Chinese friend with you so the people pushing the carts can communicate with your table, and cope that the drab interior keeps the cost of the food down, because you will be ordering a lot of it, because it's all great. We ordered 14 different things and they were all delicious. I've had bad dimsum before but this restaurant has restored my faith in it. I'm ready to get hurt again, but it won't be by this restaurant.
Would eat again and recommend.“
“The food here is absolutely delicious and always fresh! The restaurant is very clean and well-kept, which makes the whole dining experience even better. Friendly service and great taste every time — highly recommend this place to anyone looking for tasty and hygienic food!“

“This has become my favorite Chinese BBQ place recently! Very authentic and their skewers are always fresh and fragant with their charcoal grilled fumes. Their grilled fish is one of my favorite dish as well, comes with sorted veggies in it, fish was very fresh.“

“Food was amazing, tastes and feels authentic with all the people, the aunties and little kids, the uncles laughing around, you can see that people like it. My party had the wonton noodle soup with beef, Malaysian Fried rice, and Pork chop with Peking sauce. We were greatly pleased with our food, and our favorites were the wontons and pork chops. I will say that the fried rice, for my party’s taste, was a little too light on flavor. We were pretty satisfied and full, and happy with the price. Will say it’s slightly unkept but that’s understandable and not too much, staff isn’t very overly or hospitalizing but that’s not surprising, and they get the job done. If you need something and ask for something, they’ll give it to you. In general, just don’t expect a lot of attention, even in other Asian restaurants like these too. Atmosphere was nice, felt similar to how it is back in my homeland as well. My Chinese uncle who’s a big eater would probably like this. I will say that paying in cash is probably better, but card is also okay here.“

“We always like to explore new restaurants. Yelp on this one and try it out. Some dishes were on the salty side, but overall we really enjoyed the flavors. Pretty awesome pot of Jasmine tea for only $4. Other drinks were also available. Free parking on the lot and street parking on the residential streets. They were too busy so we had to flag some of the servers for services.“

“Drive by Chao's Food the other day and my wife suggested giving it a try. I called and ordered at 1130am, they had lunch special prices for the bento and dishes, I ordered the Singapore Fry Vermicelli, Honey Roast BBQ Pork rice set, Popcorn Chicken, Salt & Pepper Fried Tofu, Garlic Sauce Eggplant and Fish Cutlet w/ house tartar, also ordered 2 drinks (Jasmine Tea and milk tea for 1.75ea). All of these for $67. If it is not for the lunch special prices, I will not think it is worth it. But because of the lunch special, I do think they are worth it. The food is pretty decent and tasty, however, the vermicelli has way too much curry powder, that's why it is so yellowish in the picture. To get the lunch special prices, you do have to call, online will not have those prices. Chao's also serves a family dinner menu that has different types of dishes every night. You can order for 2, 3 or 4 people, and their price is very reasonable, I am definitely going to try them next month.“
“Besides the obvious problems with finding a parking spot on the weekend, Quantong Square is a terrific place for shopping, dining and hanging out with your friends and relatives. “By far the best shau mei around SGV in my opinion. LARGE portions, the 4th item is in a separate bowl, the other XM's just stack it in one box. Flavor is delicious if you like heavy flavors.I see pansies here complaining about 'grease', the only fast Chinese food place I know that's not too greasy is Panda Express. Those pansy low reviews can just go there instead.SG Xiao Mei is going to be my #1 around SGV for now. Hard to beat.“
“This restaurant is a must-visit for clay pot rice lovers. The rice arrives sizzling with a golden, crispy bottom and perfectly infused flavors. Their Chinese sausage and marinated pork combo is outstanding.
The wait is worth it, as each pot is cooked to order. Pair your meal with their stir-fried veggies and homemade chili sauce for a complete experience. With its cozy atmosphere, generous portions, and attentive service, this spot delivers comfort food at its best.“

“Was around the area so decided to grab lunch and it wasn't as great as before. We ordered the seafood egg noodle and seafood white noodle, both lacked flavor. I had to add satay sauce to make it taste a bit better. The ice water glasses were dirty as well. I don't know if it's under new owners or new chefs but it wasn't that great. Good thing it was a cheap lunch.“

“So I’m hesitant to post 5 star only because they’ll be more popular then I’ll have to wait for a table. But anyway the food is great and awesome with rice. So if you dine here just embrace carbohydrates lol. Place is not big with a bit of seating but definitely worth it. If you’re like me, eating rice with other dishes, plz enjoy. If you’re like some of my older family members who mainly eat dishes with minimal rice, it might be on the heavier flavor side for some. But imo it is a cozy spot to visit every now and then.“
“This place is now owned by a couple who is very nice and honest to customers. They make great chicken deli takeout and chili pepper and garlic paste which I never tasted or even knew both before!
Bouncy chicken skin and flesh and even savory bones... Chicken savory is given back to chicken to the most by pretty simple ingredients which I only tasted salt...
However the specialty Beef rice noodle didn't meet my suppose I'd like to try braised beef rice noodles and zongzi takeout next time“

“Silky Porridge & Crispy Donuts—A Love Story in Every Bite
• How to order:
Step 1: Choose your porridge base (e.g., pork, seafood, abalone & scallop).
Step 2 (optional): Add toppings like black chicken, frog legs, crab, clams, or other seafood for extra flavor and texture.
• What I tried:• Abalone & Scallop Congee with black chicken — rich, silky, and surprisingly balanced.
• Pork Congee — classic, comforting, and exceeded expectations.
Both bowls were flavorful, generous, and deeply satisfying.
• Don’t skip this:
The Chinese donut (油条) is a must-order. Crispy outside, airy inside — perfect for dipping into hot congee.“

“The Northeastern flavor of braised delicacies, my husband and I packed a lot and took them back to the San Francisco Bay Area. I just got home and ate Harbin red sausage and smoked chicken rack. The taste is exactly the same as what is sold in our hometown in Shenyang. Why is it not available in the Bay Area? The red sausage meat is moderately salty and has a light garlic aroma, which is so rare. The same goes for the smoked chicken rack, which is not salty and has a full flavor of five-spice smoke. I'm looking forward to bringing back the pork head meat, because pork head meat is difficult to cook and requires a lot of effort to shave off the hair. I heard that the two owners are both from Shenyang. I hope that a store like this can be opened in Los Angeles for a long time, because the Chinese restaurants in Los Angeles are really bad. If this store opened in the Bay Area, it would kill other stores in a matter of seconds.“

“Great place for Chinese food, cheap and large portions. They have a great lunch menu that is from $9.95 (comes with rice, soup and choice of entree). They are famous for their roasted meats (such as duck, pork). They have a vegetarian selection (vegetables, noodles), but some dish they it says vegetables there appears to be meat stock. Plenty of seating and the staff doesn't bother you while eating, come when you call them.
Vegetarian options: Check to make sure they do not use meat stock in fried veges etc.“
“The guy at the front desk was very nice. I ran out of change and looked for it in many stores but couldn't find it. He even gave me change even if I didn't buy anything. His attitude was also very good. I will definitely try it next time!“

“Had an amazing time at this restaurant! The grilled fish was absolutely bursting with flavor—perfectly cooked, soaked in a rich, spicy broth with tons of garlic, peppers, and veggies. We picked the spicy level and it was just the right kick to wake up your taste buds!
Loved the fun presentation on the hot plate, keeping everything warm and bubbling throughout the meal. The little details (like the sesame seeds, jalapeños, and vermicelli noodles) really made it feel authentic and satisfying.
Also tried the crispy silkworm pupae—definitely an adventurous snack, but surprisingly addictive once you get into it!
Cozy vibes, friendly staff, and solid menu. Highly recommend if you’re into bold flavors and something a little different from your usual dinner spot. 💥🐟🌶️“

“I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years with my family. Amazing, very authentic Shanghainese food (the chef grew up in changning qu!) with incredible staff all around. Hard to pick a favorite dish, but you’d be best off ordering the regional dishes over something more generic! My personal favorites are the 葱烤鲤鱼, 上海小排骨 and the 上海炒年糕 :)“

They have a wide selections of vegetarian and meat appetizers, ranging from seaweed and dried tofu, to pig ears and gizzards.
They have one standard size of to go boxes, and you can pick 1-3 either vegetarian or meat items for each box, the vegetarian box is $11.04 and meat box is $15.46 with tax.
Service is prompt, the appetizers lasts a few days in the frig and taste is delicious!
Parking: located in the same shopping center as the 168 Market, there are plenty of free parking.“

“We've never done take out here, but literally everything on the dine-in menu is fabulous and cooked perfectly--especially the pipa duck, when they have it. Roast duck is also great. Soy sauce chicken can't be beat anywhere in LA.
Apparently, they'll make anything you want if you call ahead. Lots of big parties on weekend evenings.

“We have been eating in this restaurant for a while. They have new menus regularly. This time, we try the Sichuan Spicy Beef (川味香辣安格斯肥牛). It’s better than what I expected. It look cold but it’s actually warm inside. Spice at an optimal level for us.

“It may not be the most Instagram worthy location but it is great. The food might not look pretty but you're getting good food. Too many places try too hard to look pretty, this place isn't messing around, you point and move on. Simple and fast, but the quantity and quality is there. You will be getting good food and a large portion.
Vegetarian options: If you don't know what it is, I hope you brought someone versed in Mandarin or familiar with Chinese food.
Dietary restrictions: If you don't know what you're doing or eating, good luck. Order your food or the next person is up.
Parking: Tiny parking lot, you can also park in the street.
Kid-friendliness: If they're okay with spices
Wheelchair accessibility: You might have some trouble, the area is sloped and the building is old so the doors aren't automatic“
