“Good stuff, lots of variety. Noodles were of course good, I got the tomato and eggs soup because that what my dad always got, and the three topping noodles. No complaints. Green beans were good too. My buddy I went with used to come here a lot pre pandemic and he says it's not as good. Even so, I was happy, and want to try other dishes on the menu, so I'll be back.“

“I googled "best Chinese in LA" and then this popped up as the #1 place. So we drove - and had a very good meal. However, if you expect the classic Chinese dishes, you will be disappointed. This is Shezuan, "a different animal". So no rice, no sweet-and-sour-this-and-that. So be prepared for very spicy Szechuan food. Noodles. No rice. Try the dumplings, they were delicious. We ordered mild (1 out of 5 spice degrees) and we were burning inside (we had two separate orders of dumplings - but spice grade 1. There is no consistency, so be careful). So if spicy is what you are "in" for, you'll love it. The ambiance is sort of authentic ;-) - the sign on how to use the toilet (outside the restaurant in the alley) says more than words. But then, it was $100 all-in for the four of us only. My advice: I could barely understand the service language. Better check the menu before you go. As we were first-timers, I wanted to share three starters and three mains among the four of us and leave it up to the waitress to make us explore - she did not understand. I asked if they served beer. The answer was "noodles or dumplings". :-)“

“Mannnn this place was cool. Ngl like I'm from the south bay so it was like a 45 min drive out but I got the recommendation so I knew it would be worth it and it didn't disappoint. Definitely recommend checking this place out especially if you're already in the area. This place wasn't too crowded at like 12:30 on veterans day when I went idk what that says about how it'll be when you go but yeah. The waiters and staff were cool and I got no complaints about them but the only thing was it took a while for the waiter to come around and collect our bill but the place was busy I get it. Price wasn't toooo bad but it was just a little bit on the pricey side I felt for what you're getting. Overall though, no complaints, my man Kevin took care of us, shoutout to Kevin. Atmosphere was real nice they had like a whole library in the front lol it was located in a nice place lots of parking also had a daiso and a 99 ranch market in the same building. Definitely recommend this place, great soup dumplings ????✌️.“

“This place is now owned by a couple who is very nice and honest to customers. They make great chicken deli takeout and chili pepper and garlic paste which I never tasted or even knew both before!

Bouncy chicken skin and flesh and even savory bones... Chicken savory is given back to chicken to the most by pretty simple ingredients which I only tasted salt...

However the specialty Beef rice noodle didn't meet my suppose I'd like to try braised beef rice noodles and zongzi takeout next time“

“Hong Kong VIP Kitchen is a Chinese restaurant in San Gabriel, California. It is a mid size restaurant with comfortable seatings. The dinning room is clean. Jack, Paul and Cindy provided very good service. Their menu is mainly Cantonese style. I came to try their Roasted Duck with Black Truffle. A few pieces of black truffle was scattered on top.
The skin was crispy, the meat was moist and good flavor. There was a familiar black truffle aroma. This is the best roasted duck in Los Angeles. I will be back even just for this duck.“

“Dinner with my buddies here at this hotpot restaurant ordered non spicy soup bases as one of my buddies can not take spice. Overall, the food is ok. The soup was non bad, and the food choice was ample. Does fulfill the craving for hotpot. Since it the States so we were happy to find this.

The taste is exactly the same as what is sold in our hometown in Shenyang. Why is it not available in the Bay Area? The red sausage meat is moderately salty and has a light garlic aroma, which is so rare. The same goes for the smoked chicken rack, which is not salty and has a full flavor of five-spice smoke. They might not be the best at followup but if you are enjoying your food and DESSERT then you will be fine.Food: They serve Taiwanese foods like shaved ice, boba, slush, teas, coffee, popcorn chicken, stinky tofu, leek bun, coffin bread (with cream soup inside), dumplings, chicken/pork chop rice, sausage rice, fried rice, noodles, and they just recently added hot-pot to their menu. “Drive by Chao's Food the other day and my wife suggested giving it a try. I called and ordered at 1130am, they had lunch special prices for the bento and dishes, I ordered the Singapore Fry Vermicelli, Honey Roast BBQ Pork rice set, Popcorn Chicken, Salt & Pepper Fried Tofu, Garlic Sauce Eggplant and Fish Cutlet w/ house tartar, also ordered 2 drinks (Jasmine Tea and milk tea for 1.75ea). All of these for $67. If it is not for the lunch special prices, I will not think it is worth it. But because of the lunch special, I do think they are worth it. The food is pretty decent and tasty, however, the vermicelli has way too much curry powder, that's why it is so yellowish in the picture. To get the lunch special prices, you do have to call, online will not have those prices. Chao's also serves a family dinner menu that has different types of dishes every night. You can order for 2, 3 or 4 people, and their price is very reasonable, I am definitely going to try them next month.“

Not exactly sure why there are so many negative reviews. the congee was very tasty (I got the pork rib, congee with clams and razor clams added), did not contain much MSG, which I'm usually pretty sensitive to. not over salted, was great, warming, and healthful meal to have especially when I was recovering from being sick.

The only drawback that I have is that the conjuring was a little watery from my standpoint, would've liked 25 to 30% more rice. However, this may purely be stylistic.
