“We went to Scratch Cookery late on a Friday, and it was pretty packed. The line to order was a bit of a mess, but the food looked worth it.After getting a couple chicken sandwiches, I can confirm that the food was worth it. I went pretty conservative on the spice level (0 for one sandwich, and 1 for the other). I’d probably bump it up next time.A nice addition to the spicy sandwiches is the ability to use the packets of provided honey to make the sandwiches a sweet and savory combo. It was pretty nice.My one complaint is the fries. They were pretty bland and unremarkable.“
“If you’re craving Korean Fried Chicken then head over to Kokodek, it is phenomenal! Chicken breading is extra crisp, not too thick, and the sauce flavors are great and well complimented by garnishes. Don’t sleep on the spam musubi, it’s bursting with flavor. Staff are incredibly welcoming ?“
“My wife Irene Borz and I stopped for a quick lunch on Sunday and were pleasantly surprised by the fast and attentive service, great tasty food, long list of favorite dishes.Vegetable eggroll was hot, golden and crispy, neither soggy nor burnt. The sauce had perfect balance of sweet and sour.Hot and sour soup was delicious! Be ready to order a large bowl to share, they do not serve individual cups. Mongolian beef was not what we were used to but still very tasty. Perfectly cooked General Tso's shrimps. The portions were large, we had to take almost a half of them to go.Suggestions for improvements. Get rid of annoying hip-hop music, play something calm and sophisticated, or opposite - really energetic like "Bond on Bond", or "Rasputin" by Boney M., or even Rolling Stones. A small vase with a flower on the table can significantly improve the entire feeling.“
“This place has it all. I ride my bike past here all the time and wanted to try out the "not chicken". So I went in and asked about it, the the young guy kind of went bluescreen when I asked about it, but fortunately there was a lady working there who looked a bit more management level and was able to explain to me that it's cauliflower, and not really vegetarian, as the batter has egg in it etc. OK fine, dandy, I like cauliflower. What I was really hoping was that they'd come up with some sort of patty; I had in my mind some sort of thing halfway between falafel and surimi, but chicken-y.Nope. it's just cauliflower. And if you've wondered when we'd come to a time when a cauliflower sandwich would be $10, well, we've arrived at the time.I got the "nuggets" and they're pretty large, battered and deep fried cauliflower florets. Good and greasy too! I had grease actually falling into the dipping sauce. Grease all over ... well ... everything. My only regret is they're not doing this with zucchini or broccoli because I love those vegetables but then I guess it'd be more vegetable-y than chicken-y...This place has it all, though. Sticky floors? Check! High prices? Check! (Everyplace has high prices now.) Noise? Check! The soundtrack of this place is a combination of various bits of machinery doing, uh, necessary things no doubt, and Boomer music. And I mean classic Boomer music. I mean, I'm on the young end of Boomer myself and it's the same music I heard when I was a little boomster in the mid-70s, riding with my Mom in our Chrysler Town & Country wagon, listening to the AM radio. Older Boomers will probably associate the music with their high school or young adult days, which is pretty much the aim - kinda like how supermarkets when I was a little-little used to play 1940s Big Band music because people in their 50s and 60s were the biggest spenders. The whines and clanks kind of drowned out the vintage tunes, though, as the grease kind of drowned my appetite in long-chain hydrocarbons.I didn't finish my cauliflower, although I made good inroads on the breading, and due to the greasiness and the huge wad of napkins I was given, I felt like I'd accomplished something, as one is supposed to when one goes to a fast-food restaurant. Ideally, you've created a small mountain of greasy paper goods and plastic bits.So check it out. Dave's Not Chicken. It's not chicken. It's not vegetarian. It's ... cauliflower.“
“Nice boba place, clean and spacious. The kids were like "ooo fancy". I paid $1 extra and upgraded my drink to a bigger size and I never seen a boba drink that huge. Well worth that extra $1 upgrade. Nothing really special about the milk tea other the enormous large size. We also ordered 2 samplers (popcorn chicken, calamari, mozzarella stick, eggroll and fried mushroom) and the pandan waffle. I was surprised how good the samplers were. Being samplers, I guess the portion was decent except for the calamari. Can't really taste much of pandan in the waffle. Overall, a great hang out place to grab a drink and some snacks.“
“Ordered combo #3. First time in, a lot of door dash going on. All the tables were full. Service was polite and quick. A little loud, just a big room, it echoes a bit, you can hear a lot of the conversations around your table. Pretty tasty, hot moist chicken, had one medium and one hot spice. Good kick, very edible.“
“Went here because the other popular pho ga spot down the street closed at 8pm. This is a great alternative. The rotisserie chicken was great but not as good. However the dry hue tieu really stood out. The gravy-ish sauce was delicious and the side of soup came with a large beef on the bone. The best part was the very friendly service and energetic atmosphere. It's a fun alternative for pho ga plus they have tasty other dishes like bun Bo hu and hue tieu.“
“Visit this on their 5th year anniversary. Today, 10/28, it is by one get one free. It is pretty busy and line keep building. The drink is pretty good, but most of them are from syrup. We also order the sampler , popcorn chicken, fried mushroom, and fried calamari. The chicken is ok. Mushroom and calamari are good. The drink is ok. It is similar to other boba places.“
“Juicy tasty chicken definitely better then Dave's hot or angry chickenzThe slaw and Pickles are perfect with it. Just wish they had more drink options or other options then just the 2 sandwiches. But heybthey make em delicious and they are open late so I'm down“
“This out of the way location has some of the best chicken in San Jose. The quality of the meat it very high, and the spice is a very pleasant mix of flavor and hot. If you ask for it mild, you actually get a mild seasoning, and if you ask for it hot, it can get as spicy as you like it.They are a bit on the slow side, but that's because the chicken is cooked fresh. It comes out piping hot and juicy. It is definitely worth the wait. The slaw on the sliders is decent and the sauce balances the spicy seasoning well. The fries are OK, because they are there to hold up that magnificent chicken. Not many choices on the menu, and every choice provides a full meal. The tenders are not those measly sad pieces of meat you find at other restaurants, here they'll fill you up. The sliders are a bit larger, and make for a good sandwich or fork & knife. If you need to get some chicken for someone who's not quite as hungry, the tender on the side is a good addition.I hesitate to write such a good review because right now it feels like our secret, but I want to see them succeed and stay in business for years to come: so please give them a try. It's a million times better than you'd expect while driving by.“
“This location has good customer service and even better food. I got the double pollo fit bowl salad for lunch and it was very hardy. Their cilantro dressing is always on point, consistency is key. It's a smaller location than most and parking can be a bit hard to find. I rate my salad a solid 9/10 (The picture does it no justice). Overall 4.75 stars“
“Food: The portion of the chicken was HUGEE, juicy and tender, thus the price is high. I ordered the Original Chick N sandwich that come with coleslaw They only serve to-go orders with no seating and food came out in reasonable time Cons: the only down size of this food truck is that you have to check for their schedule and location since they do not always park in one specific spot. You can also call them to confirm before heading out“
“The crispy fried calamari was a hit. The calamari rings were perfectly crispy, without being greasy. The seasoning was spot on, with a hint of spice that added a nice kick. The accompanying dipping sauce was flavorful and complemented the calamari well. It was a delicious appetizer that was a crowd-pleaser.“
“The spicy fried chicken is one of the best I've tasted, the original is overly salty. So one has to know what to order to get good items from this franchise. Their version of MacDs apple pie is another good item to try. It has mango and adds a tropical touch to the dessert.“
“If you want to eat authentic American fast food but don’t want to eat too greasy, Chick-fil-A is definitely your choice. This fast food restaurant founded by Christians is not open on Sundays, so it can only be opened from Monday to Sunday. Visited on the 6th, not only the food is delicious, but also the homemade sauces to add extra points to the delicious food.“
“THE best chicken. Period. DO NOT get the "churros". No flavor, not sweet enough, and a strange spicy finish. Not befitting of a place with otherwise great fried food. I got duped thinking it was as good as their chicken. They need to discontinue the churros. Bring back the apple pie.“
“Ordered the 10-piece nuggets on a Sunday evening, and the food was prepared quickly for takeout with minimal interaction with staff. The nuggets were fairly large in size, and the chicken was a bit dry, but good. Definitely better with the two sauces of choice it came with on the side. The blazin ranch was SPICY, and the truffle aioli was creamy and potent. This wouldn't be my first choice for fast food chicken (other places like Chick-fil-A have better flavor IMO), but it was a satisfying meal nonetheless.“
“I love that Pollo Campero is San Jose we now don't have to drive to SF. The only downside is that there is never any parking. The handicap parking is taken by the Doordash or Uber drivers that mind you don't have a handicap plac. The Digital Kitchen should a designated area on the side for them to park and shoot the breeze. Most of us want to park and get our food lots of time we end up parking pretty far.“
“Angry chickz might be the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Their mild rub is really spicy and delicious. Their special sauce might be the best I’ve ever had. Their angry fries might be the best late night food ever. Will definitely visit again.“
“Ordered the Seoul chicken sandwich which was really tasty and really liked the cucumber crunch. Bun seemed a little dry. Others had the Thai strips and seemed to enjoy. Like the options for swapping sides for the meals. Have had a salad previously in the past and enjoyed also.“
“I don't get time to myself at all, so when I did last night, I wanted to try this place because I have had it bookmarked for some time and I was craving Nashville hot chicken. I thought this was on Kooser and Blossom, but it's on Kooser and Camden, so just FYI. Located in a small parking lot (liquor store and a nail salon, I believe). I had to park illegally otherwise I wouldn't know where to park. They have a kiosk. You just place your order, pay, and wait for your number to be called. If you include your phone number, you will get a text when your meal is ready, too. I ordered their #1 (sliders w/ fries). I used to test myself by ordering the spiciest, but since I am older I am aware I need to play it safe, so I would not hurt myself. I ordered the medium spicy (def not spicy), so I would order HOT next time. The chicken was tender, not dry.. I loved the crinkle cut fries. Barely any coleslaw, but the thick slices of pickles gave it that crunchy tartiness texture to the dry rub! The JoJo sauce was delicious and creamy. For the first time I did not check emails. I did exactly what I wanted to do; decluttered my home, setup my Buddhist alter, and finished 2 Netflix series (The Watcher and Devil in Ohio). I am going to try and finish Midnight Mass before returning to work Tuesday. I also plan to take Friday off to hangout w/ Gavin. The work will be there, Gavin will turn 13 next year; I will never be able to get the time back. But the point I was trying to make is.. go out and try a new spot! Go and knock off a bookmark! Explore! What a perfect way to end 2023 w/ this review. Not new year, new me but I need to center my energy on me for once. I am not going to put myself on the back burner anymore. Come here to get your Nashville hot chicken!!! Happy New Year, fellow Yelpettes!!! SYOY!So grateful for everything.“
