“This place is really good! We tried vegetarian burritos which were delicious. The tortillas were soft and buttery and the filling was really well balanced. The staff were really kind and gave us free small tacos and lots of different salsas, which were all great. The horchata was good too. We highly recommend!“
“This restaurant has a wide variety of authentic Mexican food. It has an indoor dining room, but it is low-end. The bathroom room is outdoors on the side of the building. The establishment is friendly. You go here for the food. They are one lare.“
“Once you find parking , you will enjoy the best birria pizza ever ! This is my new spot when I wanna feed a party or maybe just a night in with girl and stuffing our faces (:Great place great vibe ! Cashier loved football and showed her spirit on the upcoming playoffs / Super Bowl ! Thank you for making my experience more personal and welcoming (:“
“We had Joe and his taco bar for a baby shower lunch for ~40 people. Joe scored highly in every area: clear communication, fair prices, prompt arrival, appealing display of food, clean and tidy, very friendly and sociable (paying special attention to the guest of honor), and yummmmmmy tacos and agua fresca!!“
“I was working nearby and Googled a taco truck and drive straight here expecting something decent but when I bit into the torta I ordered I was surprised at how delicious it was! It’s been a long time I go somewhere and am this surprised. The woman was very nice and when I asked her what she recommend more the burrito or torta she said they were both good but she liked the torta more and I’m so glad she told me. The price was more than reasonable and the torta is big! I’ll be back next week when I’m in the area. En serio, que comida tan deliciosa. The photos do not do it justice!“
“One of the best birria tacos i've ever had in my life. The person who served me was one of the coolest and genuine person ever. He made sure he got me right. The music is bumping and the vibes are dope.Definitely recommend this to anyone who wants delicious tacos“
“The best horchata I've tried so far. Really decent pricing because we ordered 10 tacos and 2 horchatas for just under $30. Usually has a line but it moves really fast and they get your order done really quick too. The orange sauce is good but pretty spicy.“
“Delicious and savory food, one item that stood out to me was their elote wich was fried, I never tried it like that before and it was so good. Kind of disappointed when I ordered the churros and at the picture they present an ice cream and it didn't come with it, when I called the server to ask for it he said they didn't even had the ice cream, and it was just for the pic, so keep that in mind ?Staff is okay, place is a little loud but it's understandable for a bar“
“We ordered a mulita with pastor, 3 tacos (asada, pastor, and salmon!), two gorditas with asada, and a torta with picadillo. The tortillas and gorditas were made in front of us while the rest of the food cooked, and everything was prepared quickly. Everything was delicious, but the biggest surprise was the salmon taco which isn't offered anywhere else. A nice piece of grilled salmon served with a tangy coleslaw.Highly recommend this place.“
“Five stars for the EL Chore was a banger! I brought my mom out for some grub and on the way back from walking we found this place on Hillsdale and Paul Moore Park. This spot is popular so arrive early because the line can get long with a wait to match. hahaha. I got an incredibly large carne asada deluxe quesadilla, they served it with three huge parts and they add grilled onions with it. Suffice to say that I will go back to this joint to order more food. Go!Enso forever!Birria bread bowl.Mulita.Churros. Birria spring rolls."Art is like therapy; what comes up is what comes up. It may be dark, but that's what comes up. You may want to keep some of it in a drawer... but never judge it." ― Nick Bantock“
“Great tasting tacos, enchiladas, burritos - and excellent value. Pastor, carne asada, camarones, tripas-yes, yes, yes, yes! Good, fast, friendly service. Parking can be tricky at Chevron, so park at McD's. They're only open until 5pm, so get your taco fix early.“
“I ordered some tripe volcanoes, with the golden tripe. I loved that they gave me golden belly, you know that sometimes you ask for it golden and they don't give it to you.The asada tacos weren't that good, ehh.But what I also liked here is that the tortilla tacos are made by hand ?.When we arrived we were able to find parking, but I imagine that when it is busy it must be a little more difficult because it is a fairly small place.——————I ordered some volcanoes of tripa extra grilled. I loved that the tripa was actually extra grilled, you know that sometimes you ask for it extra grilled and they don't give it to you. :(The asada tacos weren't so good, they are ehh.But what I also liked here is that the tortilla for the tacos are handmade ?.When we arrived we were able to find parking, but I imagine that when it is busy it must be a little more difficult because it is a kinda-little place.Would I go back? Yeah probably“
“Favorite tacos in the 408. Asada quesadilla is like no other. Great smokey flavor and big portions. My favorite tacos are lengua, tripa, chorizo, and the pastor. The service is timely and efficient. The salsa bar is well stocked and clean. If you're interested in dining in, there are chairs and tables available!“
“GOOD FOOD FAST SERVICE AND DOPE LITTLE SPOT I've driven past this place hella times and up until now I decided to finally stop by and hit it up. Man oh man I can see why they have a long line most of the time or busy crowd. They only sell tacos and are based out of Jalisco MX. they have a few meats asada pastor cabeza lengua pollo and like 2 other ones I can't remember the name of, I got the asada and pastor & my girlfriend got the asada & Cabeza The asada as simple as it may seem some people lack the flavor. Not here ! The asada was SMACKKK with an amazing flavor meat to cilantro and onion ratio. The tortilla was I think al vapor if I'm not mistaken and it just made the whole taco that much better Pastor was nice and flavorful with a nice little crisp to it The green salsa is a non spicy kind of salsa with like a few hints of acidity which was decent The middle salsa looked like a tomatoi type of thing going I didn't try it but my girl said it was good not too spicy but not not spicy just perfect Last salsa was spicy and hella good on the tacos it brought everything together so well Cabeza again was on point with great flavor Overall highly recommended and I'll definitely be coming back fosho“
“(Translated by Google) Today was my first time and they are luxurious I recommend them hey what are you waiting for visit them you will not regret it I promise because from now on I will always go there thank you all very much and the cashier is very kind so it makes you want to come back(Original)Hoy fue mi primera ves y están de lujo selos recomiendo ey que esperas vicitalos no te arrepentirás lo prometo porque de ahora en adelante yo iré ahí siempre muchas gracias a todos y la cajera es muy amable asi dan ganas de regresar“
“The food was very delicious, the tlauyudas and the tamales were my first dishes that I tried ? ?, I'm definitely going to return because they told me that people request mole a lot too. Ms. Verónica and her family are very friendly, they make you feel like family. I also liked that all the decoration is typical of Oaxaca.“
“West side San Jose has a surprising amount of terrible Mexican food, so this location is a well deserved standout. You MUST try this place. Tacos are fairly priced! Soft tortillas, the asada pastor and lengua are nice quality. Good service. Quick food. Orange and green salsas are very good and very cold (always a good sign!). They are at this location THURSDAY and FRIDAY evenings. I believe other evenings they are at Hapas Brewing Co. Will definitely return every now and then for a quick, affordable, high quality Mexican meal.“
“Great food & resonable prices for lical highschool and college students. Everything is made in-house, and it shows. The menu offers different proteins for your order, so that's cool.Their boba selections are wonderful, too. I just wish they offered a damn cup of drip COFFEE.Either way, please support this local business; they're super mindful and nice... in spades! ♠️Wheelchair accessibility: YES“
“It’s a large, nice space. Really good salsa bar, flavorful food. Probably our family’s new favorite taco place, though they have various other offerings. Also: their orange sauce for the shrimp tacos is amazing - definitely one of the best orange sauces in San Jose. But you have to ask for it - it’s not one of the salsas in the salsa bar.“
“Some of the best tacos in San Jose. I say this as a person that can only mostly eat chicken though so take my review as a grain of salt if you're a red meat eater. The chicken tacos are the best. No chunky, chewy pieces of meat that you'd get at other spots. The chicken is finely chopped and flavorful. One thing to note is that the average taco in San Jose is no longer $1-2 dollars but sometimes more. But this place does have deals. For example, you can get 3 regular tacos (just meat, cilantro, and onion with salsa) for $8. They have crispy tacos and super tacos. The super tacos have avocado and pico. My favorite are the Cali tacos. It's basically a super taco with fries on top. My partner loves their asada and al pastor. My sister tied the birria and loved it. She specifically had the quesabirria tacos and loved it. Their peanut butter horchata is bomb. Sounds weird but I swear, it's good and not overwhelmingly sweet or peanut buttery. It's just right. Highly recommend for folks looking for a nice, guaranteed yummy taco. It's also a decent price. But also remember CASH ONLY!“
“Love their veggie burrito. Well priced for the area and good topping salsas. A well-balanced burrito, good amount of food, and the perfect food coma - enough to know your full and need to chill and watch a training video while digesting but not hard enough where your head is dropping and putting you in the layoff list..Vegetarian options: Multiple veggie options for each kind of dish.“
“Delicious! Delicious! Delicious!! This is for 3 DoorDash orders delivered to my home. So, I can't yet comment as to in-restaurant service. The food - absolutely delicious. We have tried the machete (my favorite) w al pastor, papusas (bean n cheese) and the gordita (al pastor). Plentiful meat to corn tortilla ratio and not dry. If you've never had Salvadoran food - this is not Taco Bell!! The corn tortillas are like homemade corn tortillas, not thin like from the grocery store. The machete heats up nicely on broil the next day, like new! 10/10 recommend.“
“I ordered a quesabirria and a tostada ceviche, and it was delicious. The meat was thinly sliced with cheese and stir-fried onions and bell peppers. The tortilla that the meat was folded into was well done, and the dipping broth was good as well. The shrimp ceviche was well done, and the tostada that it came on was crispy; I really enjoyed this light dish. The service was good, the worker brought the dish out to us even though it was served from a food truck, and the ambiance was street food.“
“Coming from a 100% Mexican I can approve of this place and the amazing food. I ordered the quesabirria and tacos and i left with nothing but a smile. Very nice and respectful people and it even has a place you can go in and sit. Nothing but good things about this place. I recommend anyone to come here and try it. Will most definitely return!“
“Ordered mixed fajitas and chicken quesadilla. Fajitas were pretty decent, good flavor. Quesadilla was great, flavor was on point. Service was great! They were very attentive and friendly. Everyone has their own opinion but worth checking out at least once and create your own opinion.“
“This was recommended as an authentic restaurant by our air bnb hosts. It’s a massive space with football playing on the TV and a vast menu. We didn’t know what to order so asked advice, ended up with prawns cooked 4 ways. Prawns wrapped in bacon stuffed with cheese was unusual, my fave was the coconut shrimp. This was a fun restaurant ginormous portions so do go there hungry and don’t over order. We had to get a bag to go on 1 course. I really loved the family feeling here, and the 10 year old son was also in an apron helping clear tables which was very sweet.“
“I went at around 2am. Great food. Always a big line and a long wait. We ordered 8 tacos and it maybe took 40mins at least. Didn't mind the wait, but if you're really hungry at night and want a fast meal, this may not be the place. Especially late at night. Since options other than fast food are not available, this place ends up being the last night food spot for many people, especially party/club goers.Parking: Parking is very limited. Late at night there is street parking and you don't have to pay, but it's soo busy in that street so you might end up having to park in a red zone or go a block down and walk over.“
“Service was excellent. I got tacos de Al pastor and they were delicious. The salsas are also good, red one if you want some real heat. Sat under a nice shaded tent even though it was very hot and sunny it made it pleasant. Right next to JC Penny and the bus stop. Was hard to find at first for us. When you turn into Eastridge go right. Delicious!“
“Came from fremont for this truck to get the $1 tacos for the 1 year anniversary. Worth the drive very flavorful and they packed the plate. The salsa was HOT like sweat a little need a drink to cool down level hot! Great service and very well oiled machine in terms of ordering paying and getting your food.“
“So, I'm not an expert when it comes to Mexican food, but I can appreciate good flavor. I came here based on an article recommendation talking about regional foods (Sinaloan in this case). The tacos were goood. Smoky flavor, not too spicy for me. Good price. They do cash, venmo, Zelle. I would come back for sure. I ordered three but only had room for two, there's that many toppings!“
“My brother introduced me to this place! He came home one day with the asada fries and we've been hooked ever since. He's usually the one to pick it up on his way home from the gym. The food is really good and consistent. Big portions too.He usually gets a super burrito. It's very filling and delicious!I've tried the birria tacos which they only have on the weekends. 3 tacos and consume for $14. We shared the carne asada fries and had some leftover for dinner.I really like the asada fries but I wish it had more sour cream lol. But it's got cheese and guacamole and a ton of meat so I can't complain. I've only gone in person once and I ordered for pick up on DoorDash. It's not too far from my house, so I was expecting a bit of a wait but it was ready when I got there. :) very fast and friendly service! It's parked next to the liquor store where the Asian grocery store is, in the Carl's Jr plaza. So it was easy to get to and easy to find parking. They had tables set up too if you wanted to eat there. The usual taco truck vibes lol. It's our go to taco truck now. The quality&quantity is definitely better than the other places near us!“
“Secco at SJ downtown hikton was great restaurant. The ambiance was modern and unique. The ordered entrée all came and served on timely and the food quality all exceeded our expectations. The restaurant staff were very friendly & attentative, definitely recommend anyone thinking about hosti a g birthday or anniversary dinner.“
“As a Mexican tourist I can say this tacos, took me back home, the hand made tortillas are awesome and huge! The quesadilla is more like a machete which means is big enough for 2 people ! We drove like 40 min to get here and it was totally worth it best tacos that I ever tried outside Mexico.“
“THIS FOOD TRUCK MOVED....due to a new gas station coming in and not wanting a taco truck on the property. They moved 2 blocks down the street to CALDERON TIRES....on Bascom Ave south.....(going towards Los Gatos). I posted the new address to Yelp in hope they change the info: 454 S Bascom Ave, San Jose, CA 95128“
“Over experience was not bad. I ordered Classic three pieces fish and Chips.Taste was good but batter on fish is too thick on certain places which didn't cooked all the way and cause too much oil soked which make you very heavy.Other items were shrimp tacos, fish tacos and Shrimp kale salad.Spice was bland, most of the sauces are mild. Tartar sauce was good.Strawberry mint juice was very refreshing.Fish in tacos were little too big for the size. It need to be little smaller so one can eat easily.Overall portion size and price are very good. Kids like the fried calamari. Chimichuri fries were the best.“
“Instantly jumped to my TOP Tacos in the bay area!I had the super taco Ely with asada, and a regular carnitas taco. They were so good I ordered a third (pastor). Their tortillas come out warm too, a nice added touch.Oh and very dog friendly! ? Looking forward to my next visit!“
“It was a pleasure to use Anytime is Taco Time for my daughter's engagement party. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent! Lidia was wonderful to work with! She is very professional, thorough, and timely with communication. I highly recommend them. This was the second time we used them, and we will definitely use them in the future.“
“Food is bomb been going here for a while now and never disappointed. Service is good owners are nice and produce good quality meals. Definitely recommend! Atmosphere of this place is cool Atleast to me I like eating outdoors, and this place suits most. 10/10 for me.“
“I like it. This place is right in front of a liquor store so I'd be mindful of your belongings. Parking is also scarce. I came here after finding out that Spartan's was closed and my friend said this place is always open on holidays, so that's nice! Close by is the Grand Century / Vietnam Town plaza. I ordered 2 Carne Asada tacos and 1 large horchata. I found it nice how there's a self serving station so you can choose your toppings and how much you want. There are also tables and seating options right in front of the truck, but it is limited. The tacos were super soft and the meat was seasoned well. 10/10 for the horchata! I enjoyed every sip!“
“I'm a newbie, today is my first. I went to the one on Alma. Very tasty ? good rice and beans as well, and the tortillas were nice and hot. I was a bit leery going in based on reviews about customer service. I had an opposite experience of those bad reviews. Great customer service! They were very friendly and helpful.I'll be back ?Parking: Parking was okay for us. I imagine on busy days it Could be difficult, and you'll have to park on the street somewhere. That's my guess“
“This is a great Taco place, but I saw some black female customers calling a latino woman a "zero" with the hatred in her eyes. I was out of the blue and didn't know what has happening??? Later, when I chatted with a latino man, he told me that the latino woman cut the black lady line, and the black female get so angry. Sigh, what's going on in this world??? By the way, the taco tastes so well, I enjoyed it !!!“
“Finally, last Saturday, I had the chance to try this place for the first time. I ENJOYED every bite of my food, the services, the accommodations, and the atmosphere. It is an authentic Mexican place: You can see the kitchen and how they are prepared the food from scratch, you can smell those familiar aromas, and there is a salsa station (with lemons, onions, and cilantro included), and of course, the handmade tortilla station. The menu has something for everyone, plenty of vegetarian options, and the Aguas Frescas are delicious! For lunch, I had:- Tacos dorados (requeson and potato)- Tacos de Barbacoa (it comes with broth and double tortilla)- Strawberry agua fresca- All the salsas!!!Worth the driving!“
“I was glad there was a parking lot with lots of empty spots. As soon as I enter the restaurant I was greeted by the lady cashier and gave me some time to choose from the menu posted in the wall, it was hard to decide because there were items I haven’t tasted before. I decided to go with a mixed plate called Lotería, the plate contained one mini Torta Ahogada, one Taco de Canasta, one Taco Dorado and one Taco de Barbacoa, I paid $18.00 and was given a number on a stand and was invited to seat anywhere. I sat right across of a salsa bar looking over to the patio, the patio had seating for about 50 People, the room blend in with the piñatas and colorful banners with Papel Picado to give it that special fiesta Mexicana theme party. My food arrived on two plates, the torta ahogada had the pull pork look and had the taco dorado right next to it, this two items were plated with a side of sliced cabbage, pickled white onions with small pieces of habanero and pickled red onions, the food was covered by a nice red sauce that you are supposed to sink your torta before you eat, the torta roll had the rich texture as to not to fall apart, the cabbage and onions complemented both the torta and the taco dorado. On the other plate I had the savory Barbacoa with just the right level of spices, the taco de canasta consisted of soft chicharron, the avocado salsa from the salsa bar was delicious and had a bit of heat on it, the other salsa molcajete was spicy hot. Overall it was a nice experience that I will repeat soon“
“Barbaqoa Suoer burrito is amazing. I just wish that some of the employees spoke or understood English better. They've messed up my order a couple of times due to language barriers. Place looks like a typical liquor store, so you couldn't really tell it had a Taqueria inside. Makes it very hole in the wall. But it's an amazing hole in the wall spot.“
“(Translated by Google) me and my family the food was great we all liked it it was very good I recommend all the food it tasted good and the workers are great they have a good attitude all the time(Original)a mi y a mi familia la comida estuvo buenisima a todos nos gusto estuvo muy buena recomiendo toda la comida tenia buen sabor y los trabajadores son geniales tienen buena actitud todo el tiempo“
“This place was a great choice for a birthday brunch. The cucumber margarita is delish, whoever isn’t having one is missing out. I did think a lot of our food was cold when served, but thankfully unlike Italian cuisine, Mexican food still tastes great when cooled. The street corn was below average. Great guacamole, amazing crispy avo tacos.I had some veggie enchiladas too, and those were really wholesome and fresh.I do miss real spicy food. The bar menu isn’t great, and our sassy server suggested ordering ‘water’ if you’re looking for something sugar free. lol. Great spot still.Vegetarian options: Just the one taco. That’s no way near enough. I would love to see more cauliflower/pumpkin/sweet potato stuff or even mushrooms or tofu…“
“Excellent Mexican food, open late. I frequent this place with my cousin. you can ask for no oil on your tacos if you like.I’m a big fan of their quesadillas, and they offer a wide variety of delicious sauces. They do takeout, but they have chairs if you want to eat there, also a sink to wash your hands, which is a huge plus“
“I enjoy the mahi mahi w/grilled asparagus, brussel sprouts, adding a shrimp skewer. Shrimp was grilled with marks but not overcooked, was really good. Cajun sauce is tasty. Fire grill marks on everything makes depth of flavor. Veges were good multiple visits, never overcooked. Packed well. Togo orders correct & accurate. Plentiful parking, and good location. I would recommend, and I'll be back to try more fish.“
“We booked a cooking class through Classpop and had such a great time learning to cook! The place had a parking lot so parking wasn’t a problem. We loved that after the cooking class, we were giving enough time to enjoy our food and even had leftovers to bring home. 10/10 recommend! Thanks for making my partner’s birthday so memorable!“
