“The best kept secret in Monterey! First of all the FRESH hand-made corn tortillas! OMG! Best in town without question. Huevos rancheros and Chilaquiles were amazing! Authentic. You want spicy? They have the spicy. You prefer mild? Their tomatillo is super mild and DELICIOUS! Fast service with a smile. Plenty of parking. AND THE PRICES ARE SO LOW”

“I've lived in Mtry most of my life & have NEVER been to Jim's. I've heard some mixed reviews, but today was the day my son & I ventured out & I'm soooo glad we did. It's a very small place & we were looking to get something to go (which we did), but the overall experience was incredible. Family inviting, interactive, "crazy," large portions (at least 2 days' worth of leftovers), the owner/chief greets you as well w/a little snack to chew on while you wait (friends won tons & something else..I think a seseme ball) so good. We even asked about their Boba....fresh, NO powders, so I had to try the Tia Tea...omg soooo delicious (I went back 2 days later for more). Won ton soup delicious the best I have ever tasted, orange chicken (where you can actually taste the orange zest) was a game changer ? chow main noodles ? cooked to perfection ? & lastly the shrimp ? fried rice was so good & lite (NOT oily like most places). Very filling all of it. With all of this good stuff & the Tia tea, we will be back again & this time, we will stay to enjoy the ambiance of it all.

Parking: If you're NOT able to get parking in the very front of the restaurant, then you have to park in the attached side lot that is closer to Broadway & then walk from there. Parking lot needs some work (lots of debris & potholes), but it's free & unlimited (NO time restrictions).”

“Delicious food.... We had some red aguachiles and some green aguachiles. We’ve been here tons of times, but today when we went in, the service wasn’t the same, waitress seemed upset for some reason because I asked for extra avocado & I had to ask another waitress for some chips 20 minutes later because the original waitress never asked us if we needed anything else after they brought us our food. Besides that, food was delicious 👍🏿”

“Honestly, the best German food I have ever had. We started with the goulash and the cream of broccoli soup. We knew we were in the right place! We ordered the meatloaf-special of the day, a house platter-mixed assortment of foods, and the sausage plate. Every bite was pure joy. The best sauerkraut ever. I miss it already. We had to try the desserts so we tried the apple custard and the black forest cake. Yummmm! Be sure to book a reservation, they did turn a family away. Don’t miss this gem. 💎”

“I am a local from Monterey and I've enjoyed this establishment since childhood. Their food is so tasteful and memorable. They truly integrate the Oaxacan culture into their food, keeping it as authentic as possible.

My favorite thing I love to order that I would recommend would be their chicken mole or tortas. Their pastels (cakes) are very delicious as well. Top restaurant I would personally recommend in Monterey”

“You need to try a seaside brand new Korean restaurant when I went. It was a soft opening and I thought I would give it a try and I was not disappointed. All of the food was delicious recently priced, and the server that gave me the food to go was very sweet. It was an overall wonderful experience

Parking: Parking is not a problem because it’s in a spot where there are lots of stores all around. It is free parking. Weed”

“This place is in the Embassy Suites- that’s important for info on atmosphere and finding it! Really nice ambiance- we ended up here as it was the only place open past nine and we had just gotten into town and needed dinner and drinks and got both here with very friendly service. You can sit away from the bar area if the hotel bar is hoppin’.Limited menu- but totally sufficient and nice representation of local produce.

Parking: Says paid parking only- we are t hotel guests so hoping for the best ?”

“Went here for lunch during EOB and it was some of the best food I’ve ever had. The pupusas with cheese and loroca were absolutely delicious and some of the best i’ve had, also they were only $3 each which was insane to me I would have happily paid twice for the same meal. Our waitress was super sweet and my friend who got the chicken quesadilla said it was great as well. I will definitely be back soon and I’m happy I’ve found such an amazing restaurant!!”

“Lupita's strikes again! Once again, completely delicious food! The quality of their food is so good that you won't feel that yucky takeout feeling after eating there! You will feel like your Mexican mom made you a batch of rice and beans! The key is their oaxacan roots! I love how they make their quesadillas with like a thick masa. The tamales are bomb, masa is seasoned correctly and then the fillings are so good. we love the chicken mole ones but also like the rajas and the salsa verde. Today we branched out to try their tortas and new burrito bowls. outstanding! Ask for some Oaxacan cheese on your burrito bowl! Okay, now the bakery... There is always a debate on who has the best donuts on the Monterey Peninsula, I always hear about the donut places, but for me Lupita's is the best. their donut is substantial and then the chocolate on top is decadent! I really keep saying, who would go to any sole donut shop when you can get so much variety here? Donuts, donut holes, cakes, cookies, pan dulce! and my ultimate favorite... a loaf of morning glory bread!!! Like a carrot cake bread with oats! trust me! super delicious! Lastly, they are super friendly! I love their staff! I am currently working with them to do custom donuts for my son's upcoming birthday! They are always willing to work with their customers to make them happy!”

“Lucky Bamboo is open for takeout during the Coronavirus shutdown. My wife and I got takeout last night. We had chicken chow mein, beef with asparagus, and chicken with black mushrooms. The food was delicious, fresh, and plentiful. The person who helped me was very friendly and appreciative to have the business.”

“Everyone had the time of their life! I reached out to Darryl in May 2025 and reserved the back patio for a family function. Family members from PA, SC, Southern Cal, AZ, Northern Cal and NY came to help celebrate my birthday, a graduate in the family and of course Father's Day. Darryl made things happen for us/me. I can truly say he did a fantastic job. The food and decorations were great thanks to Ms. Stephanie and the overall accommodations were fantastic. Darryl even scheduled the entertainment for the night to be R and B for me!!! Love my oldies!!! I can honestly say everyone had a great time and we would do it again without hesitation. “Honestly don’t know why others say the portion sizes are small, they’re not - the food was delicious, with amazing pico de gallo and the staff was friendly. “This Panda Express is pretty much what you’d expect. The food is reliable, the flavors are consistent, and most of the time it’s fresh. Every now and then some of the less popular items can sit too long and end up a little cold, but when it’s fresh the flavor is great.

Wait times are usually around 5 to 10 minutes, which isn’t too bad. I usually get the Bigger Plate with Orange Spicy Chicken, Walnut Shrimp, and Beijing Beef, and it always hits the spot.

Overall it’s a solid and dependable place when you’re craving Chinese food on the go.”

Also ordered strawberry and melon boba milk tea and Vietnamese coffee with egg cream. Food and drinks came out quickly. Customer service was great. It was so good that we ate and drank everything! “I did a mistake when ordering, ordered something that I can't eat. Realized my mistake too late, I even started eating the side pieces. After realizing I wanted the check, and was told I can pay with the tablet on the table. My meal was uneaten so I explained to the waiter I can't eat it, it was on me, not than meal was bad or anything. She told me to wait aminute, and replaced my meal with something else. Staff is attentive and very friendly.”
