“That was special... went here with my son for lunch and it was a great overall experience. Love the modern decor and the staff is super friendly and helpful... we had the combo aperizer with beef and two different kinds of pickles. The fried mushroom with peppercorn powder was right up my ally but my son wasn't a fan, too dry and mushroomy. The daicon pickle was the best I've ever had. My son had the dandan noodles which were a delicious flavor bomb and I had the pork dumplings that came in a spicy red sauce. So good I'm already looking forward to coming back for more...“

“We had minced pork on rice, beef noodle soup, Dan Dan noodles, basil eggplant, pork belly bun, shaved ice and dou hua.
Overall, the food is pretty good. With some fine tunes, it can be closer to the yummy level of food in Taiwan, like some red beans in dessert are still hard, Dou Hua is too dry and needs some liquid or shaved ice to go with it, traditional shaved ice is too sweet though I like it much better than Korean style shaved ice, and brown rice is too hard. Service is good. Staff is nice. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. Order at the counter, self service for water, extra bowls and utensils.
We live in the west side, and we will come back to try other stuff on the menu.“

“The atmosphere and service are excellent! Unfortunately the food was just okay. Lacking flavor, I got the spicy quartz and my girlfriend got the standard quartz.
The chicken in the ramen itself was pretty tasteful. Had a hint of sweetness.
The chicken karage was excellent.
Overall it was okay. We'll continue to try the other ramen places on the same street.
Total for 2 ramen and 1 karage was $44. Not too bad.“

“Best beef noodles in town. Yeah, you may feel the noodles are spicy through pics but they are really not that hot. Their beef is tender and flavorful. This not quite a popular beef noodle place in SGV, but if you are looking for a delicious one, this is your spot. Parking in the back.“

“If you like Mama Lu's or P P pop, this is another similar restaurant with the same type of comfort foods that you'll also like as well. And like the other two spots, this place can get packed fast for both dinner and lunch. They have great portions (peep the giant cup of lemon iced tea) and the beef noodles and XLBs are the go-to's. Stir fried udon is one of my faves. Parking can be difficult though!“
“They have a sign in front that advertises $7 chow mein, which totally got my friend. It was definitely a heaping portion still of noodles with a good Thai chili kick. I split it into two meals still (although I probably don’t eat a lot compared to a lot of people). A bit greasy and I wish there was more veg. It was savory but not overly salty.
I felt like it was missing a little bit of nuance in its sweetness but I can’t pin what was missing. There was definitely still MSG because I was thirsty after, so that’s not what it was missing.
The free bone broth is really refreshing (reminds me of sullungtang) and a good way to either start or end your meal.“

“Had a quick lunch with a friend who lives nearby. I’d heard their jjamppong was really good, so I had to try it and honestly, it’s the best I’ve had in Los Angeles! I’ve tried a lot of places, but this one wins. I also ordered the small tangsuyuk, which was perfect for two people to share. I love that they offer a smaller size since Koreans usually enjoy jjamppong or jajangmyeon with tangsuyuk on the side. Everything was delicious. Definitely a great experience!“

“We had a wonderful experience here!! Service was 10/10 and they helped make my friend’s birthday memorable. The ramen is delicious - not too salty or oily or heavy, and the broth is super tasty. This establishment has a rich history; ask the servers!
Thank you to Mija, our server, for an amazing experience!“

“Incredible food, incredible vibes. The food was just so special. The tea leaf salad has such a unique and perfectly balanced flavor profile, and the shan noodles were delicious. The owner is so incredibly kind, funny, friendly, and informative. These are the kind of restaurants that make the world a beautiful and vibrant place.“

“Food is delicious and fragrant. Chili oil is authentic and actually has spice and taste, not that mild stuff other places have. The beef in the fried noodle dish is tender and delicious, the sauce is fragrant. Cats ear noodle did take a longer time to make, but it's all hand made. Can't complain.
My husband got the lamb organ soup and the broth is milky white. The soup is extremely clear tasting and not gamey. Hand pulled noodle texture is on point. Not too soft, chewy.
Speciality fried pork was great and had that authentic north west vinegar sauce and taste.
There was a super annoying customer last night and the staff handled the situation very well. My husband was annoyed for the staff. Props to the restaurant. 10/10.
If you're dining in for the first time:
-Staff does not speak English, do some research on Xian cuisine and checkout their menu beforehand so you understand what dishes to expect
-They accept cash
-Water is self service
-Staff is not intentionally being rude, there's a cultural difference between Chinese and western dining service
-They don't bring utensils out because they're already at your table
-If you have any type of food allergies or dietary restrictions it's up to YOU to figure it out and not the staff“

“The best place in Dtla! Ask for Hiro, he was super amazing and kept our drinks full!“
“your wonton wraps were flexible and easy to shape. they hold together wonderfully when boiling, taste great and have a good mouth-feel. they are top notch. Imagine my disappointment when I tried to use your gyoza wraps; some too dry to use; many were stuck to the one next to it (NOT an easy peel). the combination of too dry and stuck-together made for a lot of torn wraps, necessitating that I patch them together using scraps of ones that didn't stay in one piece in order to finish making the gyoza. Such wildly different quality makes me wonder if I got unlucky with the gyoza wraps, or lucky with the wonton wraps.“

“One of the best ramens in LA! I love their shoyu and jyosui ramen. It’s light and refreshing, yet full of depth, and I just can’t stop eating. The noodles are medium-thick, pleasantly chewy, and absolutely delicious. Karaage and gyoza are also really good. The price is also really affordable! I highly recommend this place!“

“Ambiance: a bright, clean, nicely adorned establishment, with a striking painting as a feature wall...the wait and serving staff definitely contributed to the overall ambiance... Service: as with the many other reviewers, our experience was very similar with respect to the service, as our server was knowledgeable, friendly, competent, helpful, and attentive...did I say friendly...definitely one of the elements we will take away from the evening... Food: on the recommendation of our server, who was very helpful, knowledgable, friendly, and attentive, we ordered the Takoyaki and our server's favourite Spicy Garlic Pork Shoyu Ramen x 2. The latter was described as a "spicy soy sauce tonkatsu broth with garlic is served with two slices of chashu pork, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, egg, fried onions, seaweed, green onions, and buttered corn". I absolutely love ramen, and, to me, what defines any bowl is the soup base, described by a very learned chef as "an intensely porky, opaque pale broth with a sticky-lipped intensity, with the rich, buttery texture of light cream; the best sports tiny nubbins of fat swimming around on their surface, a slick of mayu (black garlic oil) or chile-sesame paste, a handful of thin-sliced green onions, a soft-yolked soy-sauce tinged egg, and a few slices of meltingly tender chashu pork belly". The broth definitely reflected the events described, and the many hours spent in preparation, with a rich texture and flavour, complemented, but not over-powered by either the chili nor the garlic. It was a wonderful recommendation that we would order again! All in all, the evening that left us very satisfied in terms of having our hunger sated, and taste buds quite happy... the true test is whether we return, and, should we find ourselves back in the city, we would most definitely make a return trip to try other dishes!!“

“Waited in the rain for about 40 minutes. Was glad this place didn't dissappoint. Beef Bowl, Dumplings, and Beef Noodles were really good. I got so full I couldn't try the Dan Dan Noodles or Spicy Beef Soup. Not pictures was the shrimp fried rice which was also tasty. Would come back again.“

“This is a newly opened restaurant, so the environment inside the store is very clean and the furniture looks new. There are not too many choices on the menu. The Hainanese Chicken Rice is very tasty, but the chicken is slightly less umami. The Bamboo Shoots and Chicken Soup Noodles have a sweet soup base, which is worth a try.“

“My brother and I went to Pho Hoan Pasteur with high expectations as they had high ratings on Yelp.
He ordered the regular sized steak and tendon pho. He found one piece of tendon in the entire bowl, so he was disappointed. The taste of the pho broth was just OK... not the best, nor the worst he's ever had.
I had the grilled shrimp bun and it came with two egg rolls. I was disappointed as rice noodles were all broken. It felt as though the bowl was filled with the rice noodle scraps at the bottom of the bag. The fish sauce wasn't remarkable either. I added lime juice and samba.
We tried it. We probably won't return.“

“🍜 Chinatown’s Comfort Corner – A Humbling Noodle Experience at Kim Chuy
Kim Chuy is an unassuming treasure that overdelivers on flavor, warmth, and tradition. It’s the kind of local gem that makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in—generous servings, authentic Chinese comfort food, and a no-frills vibe that feels just like home.
We started with the wonton egg noodle soup and a side of fried leeks. The soup? Not just good—it was built for noodle lovers. The broth was rich, the noodles perfectly textured, and the flavors so soothing that conversation at the table paused. It was a quiet appreciation of something humble and deeply satisfying, a true noodle moment that lifts your mood without saying a word.
We also ordered the broccoli beef chow mein, and I wish we’d snapped a photo before we dove in. The vegetables were crisp, fresh, and infused with garlic and savory chow mein notes. It’s not your typical fast-food-style dish—this is home-style, family cooking done right. Every bite reminded me of meals made with care, meant to be enjoyed and remembered.
Kim Chuy even offers pre-made leeks you can take home and cook—perfect for sharing, and trust me, they’ll go fast. Whether you’re a lifelong local or exploring Chinatown for the first time, Kim Chuy is a soul-satisfying stop that brings joy to noodle enthusiasts and food lovers alike.“

“When my omnivorous husband likes a plant-based restaurant as much as I do, then I know it’s legit. The food here is fresh and delicious. We’ve tried several things on the menu but, because we don’t live nearby, we make the drive when I have a specific craving - #24, the vermicelli bowl. It is a perfect dish served by kind people at a very reasonable price. It’s always followed up by a complementary portion of dessert, a warm concoction of tapioca & coconut milk whose appearance belies its soulful, comforting, grandmotherly goodness.“

“This was so good!!! I got the new Tomatama Curry bowl and I loved it. I’ve never tried udon before but I’m so glad I had a chance to try it today. I also got a cheese and sweet potato tempura. I honestly wanted to get back in line for more. That sweet potato was the best (though I may be biased b/c sweet potatoes are a fave). And to top it off I got the pineapple sunrise. Super refreshing. This was exactly what I needed after a long day of traveling. Plus the artwork and vibe was super cute.“

“I just had the best experience eating here. I was recommend this place because I love Pho and my fiance loves ramen. This place delivered exceedingly delicious plates for the both of us! We loved both so much and we know that this is out new spot. The most memorable experience was the kindness of the staff. I felt welcomed like I was being treated at a family members home and I was constantly attended to despite the restaurant being busy. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and this is my new favorite spot!“

“I enjoyed this place a lot. It was a little bit hard to find at first, as it is located above the supermarket. The server was very friendly, helping me to find a good vegetarian option. “You think about getting ramen, but you want something healthier? Try rice noodles. LuDingJi will open your world to rice noodle soup. Parking is usually plenty, just go to their underground lot. The restaurant is relatively clean. Food is served pretty instantly, so that's great news for hangry (hungry and angry ?) customers. Servers are polite and friendly too. The only complaint I have is the lighting in this restaurant is kind of dark.To order, it's 3-step to get your bowl of rice noodle goodness:1. Choose your soup base2. Choose your entree3. Choose your carbs, but really just get rice noodles! ?4. -- Side note: please get some add-ons as the dish doesn't come with many things. --Food we ordered:- Tomato soup (8/10): For those who can't eat spice, this is Really REALLY GOOD! It's not too salty, the rice noodle textures were mildly chewy and tasty. I added fatty beef and some vegetables. Overall, the portion given is plenty.- Chili Pumpkin (10/10): A little spice, but this is probably my favorite hands down! The spice has a mild sweet-sour flavor to it. I really enjoyed this.- Shou Zhua Bing (6.5/10): This is basically roti canai with meat. I actually liked the dish. I gave it a low rating because I felt like the meat was cold but I thoroughly enjoyed the roti canai!Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to try a ramen alternative. ✨?
Parking: Parking is usually plenty, just go to their underground lot.“

Get #33 with the 3 toppings and make sure you mix well. server was so friendly too“

“This new location seems smaller than their previous spot. Doesn't seem they're fully set up yet as we got disposable bowls for rice and individual disposable cups for hot tea ($1.50 per person).
Food is still consistent though! Mushroom in brown sauce ($12.95), vege fish in brown sauce ($12.50), and tofu pumpkin hot pot ($12.95) are still good choices and they're all on the lunch special menu!
Surface level parking in the plaza gets congested very easily, so try the 2 levels of underground parking for more spots.“

“My spot for years. Great place, good food, excellent service. The party trays are a good deal, and they will make it on the spot with no more than 15 minutes of wait time. I always get orange chicken, beef, broccoli, chow mein, and fried rice. Steam rice and teriyaki chicken, sweet and sour pork, and green beans are also very tasty.“
