“I went to the Tonchin location in New York late last year, so I came into the Los Angeles location excited and with high expectations. The food was good overall. My wife did not quite understand the hype around it, but I personally thought it was solid, even though it did not stand out as much as the New York location.

Where the difference between the two locations stood out the most was in customer service. We had to wait nearly twenty minutes just to receive the check, and throughout the meal the server rarely came by to check on us. Because of this, the overall experience at the Los Angeles location fell short of what I experienced in New York.

“If you've ever been to Ichiran, this is a very similar experience. You get a menu card to fill out what you want while you wait for a table to be available. I'm just going to get it out of the way, the ramen is fantastic. Get the original tonkotsu broth you WON'T regret it. The karage chicken was a solid 4/5 I'd get it again but I've had better. My only gripe with the whole experience was that it was fairly cold outside and we were sitting right next to the open door. Other than that, I definitely recommend this place, I'll be coming back for sure.“

The latter was described as a "spicy soy sauce tonkatsu broth with garlic is served with two slices of chashu pork, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, egg, fried onions, seaweed, green onions, and buttered corn". I absolutely love ramen, and, to me, what defines any bowl is the soup base, described by a very learned chef as "an intensely porky, opaque pale broth with a sticky-lipped intensity, with the rich, buttery texture of light cream; the best sports tiny nubbins of fat swimming around on their surface, a slick of mayu (black garlic oil) or chile-sesame paste, a handful of thin-sliced green onions, a soft-yolked soy-sauce tinged egg, and a few slices of meltingly tender chashu pork belly". The broth definitely reflected the events described, and the many hours spent in preparation, with a rich texture and flavour, complemented, but not over-powered by either the chili nor the garlic. It was a wonderful recommendation that we would order again! All in all, the evening that left us very satisfied in terms of having our hunger sated, and taste buds quite happy... the true test is whether we return, and, should we find ourselves back in the city, we would most definitely make a return trip to try other dishes!!“

“Kai Ramen absolutely hit the spot. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. The portions were generous, the atmosphere was cozy, and the service was friendly and fast. You can tell they really care about quality here. “Been wanting to try this place for a couple years now. Glad we finally did. Excellent food, much better than any Jinya Ramen. We had a bunch of appetizers. Indeed, their Takoyaki was amazing, Howard Yang! 😍 We had 2 seasonal specials, the Spicy Crispy Shrimp Roll and the cold Tan Tan ramen. Both were fantastic, albeit a bit too spicy for me. Service is super friendly. We will definitely be back. Want to try a bunch of other things, including the hot ramens.“

“Really good spot when you want sushi and ramen without having to pick one or the other. The menu has a lot of solid options, so it works well if one person wants ramen, someone else wants rolls, and everyone wants to share a few small plates. The place has a cozy feel, and it’s nice for a casual dinner without feeling too loud or rushed. I like that there’s enough variety to come back and try something different each time. “My kids were raving about this place and they finally invited me to try this location. So naturally, I ordered their best items on the menu. We ordered the chicken pieces as an appetizer and we all chose a bowl of ramen. I ordered the beef broth truffle soup with an extra side of pork belly. The appetizer and the special sauce was delicious and the Ramen was amazing. As a big fan of Phó, this place was really good. Next time we come in, I will order the chicken broth. The only reason it didn't get a 5 star review was because of what management said to us as we dined. One of the people in our party did not have soup, they had a sandwich from the restaurant next door. Management came to our table and said that they didn't allow outside food to be eaten in their restaurant. With multiple restaurants located in this shopping center and No signs posted anywhere, I think this policy should be re-evaluated. Between the 3 of us eating Ramen, the bill was almost $84 with a tip. I think for the location being so close to other choices of food and the price, my family should be able to enjoy dinner together. I hope they change this policy in the near future.“

“Hiro is the greatest of all time. Very friendly service, late night spot, good ambient tunes, and overall great food. I had the spicy beef (mild) and it was delicious! I paid for more beef & Nori. Ended up being around $30.

Ramen Izakaya is great from take out or dine with a plethora of beverage options as well as eats. Available through doordashz grubhub and ubereats this small chain biz has an incredible creamy vegan ramen, spicy lemon grass ramen, veggie spring rolls, tofu nuggets, shishito peppers, edamame, rice bowls, salads, soups and lots of traditional Japanese and ramen dishes that will please your taste buds times two. They have some decent outdoor seating, but incredibly indoor and a huge parking lot in back. The service is always good and usually very personable. A unique Japanese cuisine eatery with some LA Valley flavor and modern plant-based flare.“

“We only found this place because we were looking for a bathroom & stumbled upon a gem. It was our first time trying ramyun & it was just wow! I ordered the creamy ramen with pork belly & my sister ordered the katsu for take out. I really like that they line the takeout container with foil to keep the food warm. The katsu sauce was thick & savory,, the chicken was crunchy & juicy, & they give a large portion of rice. The sweet corn & coleslaw help to balance out the rich katsu sauce. The ramen tasted kind of like carbonara with a kick. The pork belly was cut up into 6 small triangle pieces. I can't wait to to eat in next time! There's a small parking lot in front, but we found street parking.“

Stopped by Chibiscus for lunch, and it totally blew me away. I ordered the ramen, and it was a solid 10/10.
The broth was rich, flavorful, and had the perfect depth to it. Exactly what you look for in a great ramen.
The toppings were incredibly fresh. The egg was cooked to perfection with that nice, jammy yolk, the bean sprouts added a great crunch, and the meat was super tender.
The portion size is great—definitely leaves you full and satisfied.
The place is clean, the service is fast, and the vibe is very welcoming. If you’re looking for authentic, comforting ramen, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend!“

Just had the Classic Tonkotsu Ramen with tofu at Silverlake Ramen, and it was so good! The broth was rich, creamy, and packed with deep, savory flavor—absolutely delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the tofu was a great addition, soaking up all that tasty broth.

The vibe here is cool and welcoming, and the service was quick and friendly. If you're craving a seriously satisfying bowl of ramen, this is the spot. Will definitely be back!
