Fresh is always key but the food is hand selected. Pistachios from certain regions. Pork chops of a specific type. Prosciutto aged 24 months. Top notch! I’ve been dining here for over 15 years and have never had a bad experience.”

Pancake lovers: try the Lemon Soufflé Pancakes, there’s just the right amount of citrus in these decadent fluffy pancakes. Vegans & avo toast lovers try the Avocado Toast. Plentiful, perfectly seasoned mashed avocado with feta & pickled onions on house baked bread is superb. Another vegan option is the Warrior Pudding Bowl, this healthy dish is super flavorful, light yet filling. Ingredients include quinoa, hemp, chia & oat. The Nell’s famous Hot Cocoa is rich, creamy & a quintessential tribute to Valrhona’s top of the heap chocolate. The recipe includes half & half, sugar, Valrhona cocoa powder & chocolate. It’s unreal! I’m a pastry fanatic so I always can’t wait to hear what flavor hand pie (pop tart esque) is on the menu. I also stash one in my ski back pack, makes the chairlift ride even more fun!”

“Listen, the place is amazing. There’s no doubt. And I bet the higher priced stuff is magnifique. But the burger was well below par. I left a quarter of it on my plate as unchewable grissle. Seriously, I would have been more satisfied with a Big Mac. You’d think the least you could get, for $30 is a lean(er) patty. Next time I’m going for something less risky. Now, the ambiance is unbeatable. A great place to check out a game and park it along the window to enjoy the view of the mountains. The place is old world class all the way. Fascinating old photos of Aspen hang on the walls. And the decor is really breathtaking and classy. I treat myself on every yearly vacation. I just hope the next sandwich I eat there prooves to be more satisfying!”

“’m always looking for some place different to eat, to stay, to do, when we travel. I’m not sure how I even found this restaurant but I’m sure part of the attraction was a black owned business in Aspen. MAWA’s Kitchen is like striking gold in the mountains of Colorado. Every dish was excellent, from the Brussel Sprout Caesar to the Two Roots Sautéed Greens, pure heaven in your mouth. For our entrees Conrad chose the Red Snapper. It was served on top of some Zaalouk, which is a Moroccan salad of cooked eggplant and tomatoes. Delicious. I chose the West African Gumbo. The flavors meshed together perfectly and had a little spicy Andouille sausage to kick it up a notch. The servers were great and they even gave me a dessert for my birthday. I would definitely recommend this for a great dining experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stopped by for brunch today, another excellent meal. Got to meet Mawa. Such a great place. “Aspen never ceases to amaze me with the excellent quality of its restaurants. Duemani is a brilliant example of Aspen excellence and a must-visit. We were very warmly greeted by Darko, who is super knowledgeable about wines and very nice and helpful. Our waitress, Velma, provided incredible service and guided us in the right direction in terms of what to order.

We started with just two crab tostadas for my wife and I to get a taste, then the garlic shrimp (both pictured). Both were very fresh and simply delicious, can't recommend these enough. For our main, we shared a branzino with a caper sauce that was incredible, along with the grilled artichokes. Truly delicious, I wanted to take pictures, but it was so good I couldn't resist eating it before I remembered to take my phone out.

The decor is very nice as well; they truly do a great job transporting your mind to the Mediterranean. The whole experience was truly enjoyable, and we cannot wait to return.”

“We had such a wonderful experience at Stranahan’s in Aspen while celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with fresh flowers on the table and everything beautifully presented.

We shared the potatoes and a vegetable tray with homemade hummus, and both were fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. The highlight, though, was the whiskey flight with the chocolate pairing. Such a fun and memorable way to experience the different whiskeys.

What really made the evening special was the hospitality. As soon as Brahan found out we were celebrating our anniversary, he went out of his way to make us feel incredibly welcome and even treated us to a complimentary pour of their Cherry Soda Single Malt, which was absolutely incredible.

It was exactly the kind of thoughtful, memorable experience you hope for on a milestone anniversary. Fantastic whiskey, beautiful atmosphere, great food, and genuinely wonderful hospitality. We’ll absolutely be back.”

“It is with great pleasure I am able to successfully report that there is a fantastic lunch burrito in town. After a ten year search across the roaring fork valley for a quick, easy and tasty lunch burrito - Louis Swiss Bakery has really done it. Under the stewardship of incredible leaders, this team was able to synthesize a perfect twenty bite, take away chicken burrito which is finely complimented with a nice green salsa. Do I have any recommendations for how they can take this further? Of Course, and the phone lines remain open, but I don't want the potential for future progress to impede what a herculean accomplishment this burrito really is. Rice, black beans, a little cheese, some peppers and chicken, are composed into a well wrapped tortilla which is quickly seared (thank God), and double wrapped in both paper and tin foil for secure transportation. It's easy to grab, fits well in the hand, and can be picked up for the hot case at a moments notice. In the busy land of July in Aspen, this convenience is not only a privilege but a necessity. Although I do have a professional background in Burrito reviewing, I'll have to throw out the California oriented taqueria playbook here as elevation and a restrictive food shipping environment weight heavily in my judgement. You're right, we won't get the same flavor notes as Puentez Taqueria or El Farolito, but we have to work with what we have, and measure by local standards, and by these local standards along with the above outlined metrics of QUICK, EASY, and TASTY BURRITOS - Louis Swiss has accomplished a tour de force Lunch burrito which I will be a happy consumer of, for years to come.
(As a quick aside, perhaps we can talk about adding some guacamole, and or pico de gallo? )”
