“We went for the summer restaurant week. You get a cold and a hot appetizer, assortment of sushi and a dessert. We opted for the soft shell crab and shabu shabu ramen, both were delicious and served hot out of the kitchen. Sushi is top quality and decadent of course. Hojicha pudding is uniquely toasty and silky.

Not all RW deals are worth going, but I’d recommend the selection at sushi taro for the quality and the value of the food.“

“Went there to celebrate my birthday. Sushi was very fresh and perfectly prepared. The slices were excellent, which made the fish delicate, tender and without too much dark pieces which have more fishy taste, no tendons/skin/muscle to make it difficult to chew. It was a delightful experience! The amount of different fish/seafood species was surprising. A special place to go to celebrate, if you love sushi. We paired it with a nice bottle of Italian Sparkling, which was an excellent recommendation by our server.“

“This popular restaurant was quite busy when we went. The menu, same as the other Plantas, offered a lot. We had the Queso Fundido, which was great, but oily. The Tres Leches dessert was exceptionally good. The only drawback to the restaurant was that it was extremely noisy, This may have to do with when we went, late on a weekend.“

Their demeanor is unmatched to other sushi places in DC and I, regretfully, wish I could have spent more time with their fabulous staff. “Our visit to Zeppelin was absolutely breathtaking! From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with the most exceptional hospitality by Ari and the rest of the staff. The atmosphere of the restaurant is truly one-of-a-kind, paying tribute to the Golden Age of the Great Passenger Airships. But the real standout of our experience was the food. It was absolutely divine. We began our meal with the Edamame and Miso Soup, both of which were the perfect starters and set the stage for the rest of the meal. The Seaweed Salad and Cucumber Sunomono were also refreshing and bursting with flavor. For our main course, we decided to indulge in a variety of dishes from the KushiYaki (Japanese Charcoal Grill) menu. The Ebi Shumai and Beef Harumaki were both cooked to perfection, while the Takoyaki was a fun and tasty snack. But the standout dish was the Okonomiyaki, with its tempura, red ginger, okonomiyaki sauce, and mayo creating a truly unique and flavor-packed experience. From the sushi bar, we sampled a variety of rolls including the Negitoro Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, and Rainbow Roll. Each one was expertly crafted and perfectly balanced in flavor. We also tried the Sashimi Sampler, which was a fantastic way to try a range of different fish. “Don't underestimate this sushi spot inside the food hall The Roost. It's worth your time. Creating many sushi options, you can't go wrong. Preferring less "fishy" sushi, they have great veggie options and ones with shrimp and crab meat. Order and within a few minutes you'll get a plate of sushi with soy sauce and all the fixings.“

I was welcomed by staff and had an accommodated menu for those who are GF or allergic to wheat like me. I got to try the General D’s Cauliflower dish, and OH MY GOSH! I downed that dish because that was the most delicious thing I’ve had all weekend…the sweet chili really brought everything together; the breaded cauliflower was the star of the entire dish! For dessert, I had the matcha cheesecake, and it was heaven in my mouth! What made it even more special, the staff brought it out with a sparkler, making it a highlight of my birthday dinner! “I stopped in with friends before a event Sunday evening. The staff was warm and welcoming. I had the lentil sambusas and a peanut-infused coffee at the staff’s recommendation. The food was fast and delicious- the sambusas were warm and spicy, and the peanut coffee was delicious! In a kind gesture, the chef sent over a sampling of sushi to our table. Fresh and refreshing, the sushi was a nice complement to my sambusas and hot beverage. I’m not on this side of town often, but now I have a reason to come back.“

“My wife and I went to NaRa-Ya for their weekend bunch. It’s a pretty good deal. $45 per person for an all you can eat 2 hours brunch. We got the chance to try most of their food options. The service was decent. I personally felt like our server was short with us. They have an automatic 20% tip added to all bills so I guess there was not really an incentive to provide superior service.“

“The food was delicious, the owner and staff were very kind especially with our 13 month old who about 45 minutes in was getting very stubborn and wanted to walk around.

I would highly recommend the laksa, which was my favorite dish out of the 5 we ordered. The lamb satay came second. Ask for some extra sambal, it wasn’t too sweet but the perfect amount of spice!!“

“One of my favorite sushi spots for lunch when the mood strikes. The location is unassuming and if you aren't looking for it you will walk right by. Not the cheapest option but the quality of the fish speaks for itself. As far as sushi, I can only speak to the nigiri and sashimi but the various types I have had all have been fresh with good texture. The beef udon bowl was light and a great soup without being heavy. This place is only open for lunch so if you can swing it, it's worth a try.“

“Kruba DC (Navy Yard) is incredible in EVERYTHING THEY DO! First and foremost some of the most incredible fish selections and quality (I wonder if they get their fish locally or from Japan like some of the high end omakase restaurants in DC!) we’ve had at a non $$$$$ level. Their Thai dishes were spectacular and the best we’ve had in a very long time (coming from a family who relocated from HI). Everything we ordered was a HIT: fried calamari, crab Rangoon, tuna TaTaki, Edamame, Penang chicken, drunken noodles beef, pad see ew shrimp and Nigiri (tuna, white tuna, yellowtail, fatty yellow tail, salmon (all compete with high end or island quality fish!) ). I seriously cannot recommend this place MORE and my entire family waits our next visit! Last but not least it was a very comfy and cute spot with incredible and fast service!“
