I no longer live in Chicago, but make it a point to stop there and speak with the owner every chance I get. Always great food and exceptional service! You may have to wait in line, though. “We had high hope for this place and it started out fine. However, everything fall apart in the two main courses. The pork cheek was so overwhelmingly salty, it ruined all the taste and memories from the previous dishes. And the Wagyu preparation was the worst in all the places we have had it. The evening starts with sweeter notes and to match it with wine pairing, they had to serve a Tokaji. And then again we were served a sweeter wine at the end with the desserts. This sweet, super salty and then sweet taste failed to set a theme for the courses. Beginning courses were beautifully plated. Overall, it did not reach the level of expectations. One a side note, the service was very good, however many times it felt robotic. Like in future, if you are served by robots, it will be like that. Two people will come, and synchronize to place and take you plates at the same time. The feel of awkwardness is there. The ambience was the best though.“

“I went for a friends graduation brunch, and it was definitely a hopping spot in the city, and I can see the appeal for the rooftop views alone, but I think it’s a bit overpriced for what you’re getting in my opinion. I had the biscuits and gravy ($25) which was fine but also strange in that it tasted more like a chowder than gravy. I also got the chocolate chip cookies which were and came in an order of 3 for $12. As I said, a bit overpriced for cookies, but actually felt worth it for their size and deliciousness. Of course, part of why you’re coming here is for the views and this place did not disappoint! Despite it being a very hot day outside, there was a good crowd out there especially because there’s a bar on the patio as well. And even though it was very busy throughout the entire time there, my party and I had fairly consistent service, although I did have my drink order forgotten, but the server ended up comping me for it, which made up for it.“

However, I know this was not Tahlia's fault, and she was still very reassuring with other items on the menu and helping us choose.“

My husband ordered a side of bacon to go with his salad and the kitchen took the extra step to cut it up for him when they didn't have to. And while the restaurant is an upscale mature environment, they were extremely accommodating to our toddler and were so very friendly and warm to our family. From the hosts, to our waiter, to each employee who passed by everyone was so warm and welcoming. We will 100% return!“

“We had the repast for my father's funeral at the Firehouse Restaurant in their Palmer Parlor. The O'Malley's and their Event Manager Carolyn Orlando couldn't have created a better environment for us to celebrate my dad's life. Their staff made it feel like they were serving their own family. The food was great, the drinks flowed and everything went off as the team promised.“
