“Every thing was amazing. But I have to talk about the the chocolate pecan pie. The pie’s flavors were so balanced and precise that it became an argument for the value of small, immediate experiences. We often think fulfillment must come from major achievements or profound discoveries, yet this dessert demonstrated that contentment can originate from something as ordinary as food prepared with intention. The heart is full.“

“Always loved their Greek pastries, they are the best, started going to them 60 yrs ago with my mom and dad. We were always going to Hellas for our parties baptisms and weddings. All our holiday needs were easily available for us. Unfortunately, we moved out to Poplar Grove, Illinois near Belvedere and have missed them greatly. “Ordered my son’s first birthday cake (& cupcakes) from here and it was amazing! He has an egg allergy and all the vegan cakes & cupcakes we tried from other places were very dense and did not taste like what we are used to cake tasting like. So once I found this shop, seeing all the positive reviews, I had high hopes and they did not disappoint! The best cake I’ve ever had and of course my son loved it. Stand with the million other people there trying to form some semblance of a line

Greet the seemingly rude but probably just overstimulated and direct staff member

Order the chicken Ceasar sandwich and the vodka chicken sandwich (if you’re alone its ok- nothing beats leftovers)

Order a lemon ricotta cookie and a headful of other yummy desserts- you know, for the road.

Take a seat in their very limited seating area or your car- the key is to eat these (particularly the vodka chicken) as soon as possible

Indulge in some of the greatest delicacies that are the D’Amato’s

The next day, thank yourself for the leftovers if you manage to keep any.

Dream about her for the next few days until you return.

“I love the fresh food , reasonable prices and how polite and helpful the ladies are. I have been going to this bakery for over 18 years. I moved far from it, and I drive an hour to come buy from there.“

“There’s lots of options to choose from (more on the sweeter side). Heads up, this is a grab and go bakery, therefore, there is no indoor seating (only a bar to stand at outside). They will also not heat up the pastries :/

It did not really taste like it had chocolate… it was still delicious, but it tasted more like an apples strudel and banana bread mix—yummy but not chocolate babka lol

The smoked ham brown grainy mustard + Gruyère croissant ($7.50) ⭐️2/5
This didn’t hit it for me :/ If you know you love gruyère cheese, then I say give it a go, if you’re unsure, probably try something else?

“So today I had a friend in from out of town and we topped off our afternoon with a visit to Miski Bakery. I was dying to try the alfajores, and they did not disappoint! The very delicate morsels melted in our mouth, and the creamy luscious dollop of dulce de leche caramel was a perfect pairing. In addition we tried the Milhojas/Napoleons in two flavors the Lucuma pastry creme and also the dulce de leche. A thousand layers is correct, these were amazingly tall, crispy and filled with air, both were delicious but the Lucuma(a Peruvian fruit) pastry creme was the standout. It had such a delightful delicate flavor I had never tasted previously. After speaking with Carmen the owner I asked whether or not they ever carried Turrón de doñja Pepa. She just happened to have some freshly baked sitting on the tray behind the counter, but alas it was still awaiting its filling. This gives me a great reason to return and indulge in that special treat. It is prepared every other week. The service was warm and friendly. This is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood you shouldn't miss out on. I will be returning often.“

I had been to this bakery before and meant to order from here, but didn’t realize there was a very similarly named place in Bridgeport. “Mr Cake Never Disappoints. The staff is so incredibly friendly and pay attention to detail. Their cakes are always rich in flavor, soft and never dry. I have ordered a lot of cakes from them in the past but this time around I had to order my cake over the phone since I could not make it in.
