“Came to Bloom for my birthday dinner with a couple friends and we were all blown away. Bloom gave me a complimentary ube cheesecake for dessert with a birthday candle, so sweet. We tried a ton of stuff, I think the whipped feta, arrancini, cheese plate, and Besitos de yucca. I didn’t order the Yucca Gnocci before the kitchen closed so I didn’t get to try that but everything we had was amazing. Loved the sangria and birds of a feather cocktails too!“

“Service was amazing and ice cream was excellent! We went without reading reviews with our 3 year old. He doesn’t scare easily, but the super loud music and scary animal farm theme was… a lot. Just not what I normally expect at an ice cream “shoppe” (shoppe with that spelling always has a quant vibe), with quotes on the walls about dead humans and such. Clearly a lot of love goes into the decor, and I’m not tucking anyone else’s yum- hence the five stars. But I did worry that the mannequins and paintings might give a young kid some nightmares. Fortunately he mostly looked at the ceiling, which is a super cool cloudscape. So, yeah. Amazing service, ice cream, and super friendly… just feels at odds with the decor.“

“Today CheSa was in my building The Franklin downtown and of course I had to support my own! I got the 4 cheese Mac/jerk chicken bowl. Not too spicy but had a nice kick. Chicken was tender. Only issue is the juice from the chicken made the Mac and Cheese runny at the bottom“

“Food was good but even though I was a party of 1, they let people who signed up after me with a party of 2 and 3 go ahead of me, which I would have understood if they were giving me a smaller table. But they gave me the same size table as the ones they let go ahead of me but registered after I did. So there didn't seem to be any methodology on how they assigned tables. And I even said I didn't have a preference on inside or outside. Just first available knowing it's 48 degrees in November in Chicago.“

“I placed a delivery order but realized I entered the wrong address when the delivery driver was at a different location than my hotel. The restaurant took the time to give me Uber Eats phone number so that I could contact them to get my delivery address fixed. They could’ve brushed me off but didn’t so I was glad to get the food I ordered.“

“Shoutout to the Rittenhouse location. We are at Chop with our 4 year old son who just had surgery. I figured after the day we had let’s have some cookies. I placed an order from Levain on door dash. My wife after the long day she had put in the wrong address on the door dash order and the driver called screaming at me and wouldn’t come 1.3 miles to bring them even after explaining the circumstances. Door dash refunded my whole order without me even asking and I called Levain and they went above and beyond. They gave us cookies on the house and even threw in an extra chocolate chip and delivered them to CHOP. Not only are the cookies fabulous the hospitality is second to none. I am a lifelong customer to this location and want to thank everyone at the Rittenhouse location especially Mat who went above and beyond. Thanks again!“

“SBK is everything… the pastries and cookies are so delicious, always a decadent treat. The savory sandwiches, so flavorful with house made sauces in the mix. Weekends start off right with an SBK pizza on a Friday night. I’ve been coming here for years. During Covid, SBK became my local grocery store. One of my favorite establishments in Chicago, I will always be a fan.“

“I had such a lovely surprise and delight visiting Macaron Bar for the first time. Such a cute spot. I had to try the coconut and pistachio macarons! The coconut was spectacular!!! What a beautiful balance of flavors. This place is a 10000/10. You have to stop by a grab a box and try every single flavor!“

“I was in the area for a show at the Vic Theater and saw this place was close by. I'm glad I decided to stop in because this place was amazing. I ordered the country fried steak, and they had it ready within 10 minutes. The meal was delicious. The seitan steak tasted almost exactly how I remember real country fried steaks to taste. The gravy was savory, and the potatoes were super creamy. If I'm ever in the neighborhood again, I'll definitely be coming back. While everything on the menu is vegan, vegetarians can get real cheese and eggs if they ask. Since the restaurant is located in the Northhalsted neighborhood, it's also a safe space for LGBT folks. Like every business in Northhalsted, they proudly display pride flags, and many of the staff are queer themselves. Updated from previous review on 2025-04-30“

“Be quick at ordering because there’s going to be a line! Good news is that I have the sense nothing is bad here. I got a ham and cheese and mustard croissant which was perfect, and the banana coffee cake which was DIVINE. Just wish they could do a toasted and creamed bagel, so 4 stars for customer service.“

“Food was amazing. An incredible selection of savory and sweet. I had trouble picking which one of the four very different things I ate was my favorite. The only real downsides are twofold: there isn’t a great coffee selection (since that isn’t their primary function) and there is very limited seating. Don’t let that discourage you because everything is easy to eat on the go or in your car and they will package it for you by default. Adding this place to rotation!“

This is my #1 steakhouse I have visited in the world…I have been to 30 plus states, 15 countries and nothing has come close to this experience.“

“I’ve been loving Loba’s pineapple sourdough muffins. They are beyond delicious! I’m not vegan, but these vegan pastries are life changing! I also am a big fan of their cold brew. This Christmas, I decided to try their take-n-bake kouign-amann; and OMG my family and I were IN LOVE with the Ham & Gruyere kouign-amann! When my package arrived it was not in perfect condition....having traveled through a snow storm and a holiday weekend...it was disappointing..(FedEx, not them) I called them to say hello and alert them to my sadness....They not only replaced the promo box, but added extra goodies and shipped it overnight with a sweet message from the owner. 👍😍 First Class all the way...And, AMAZING sweets! “I just walked out of the door and am so glad that God sent us there. We tried 3 places prior to walking in CheSa’s doors which was a definite blessing. We had the catfish skillet, bourbon peach cobbler franchise toast, chicken sausage and scrabbles eggs w/cheese washed down with a breakfast martini. “So today I had a friend in from out of town and we topped off our afternoon with a visit to Miski Bakery. I was dying to try the alfajores, and they did not disappoint! The very delicate morsels melted in our mouth, and the creamy luscious dollop of dulce de leche caramel was a perfect pairing. In addition we tried the Milhojas/Napoleons in two flavors the Lucuma pastry creme and also the dulce de leche. A thousand layers is correct, these were amazingly tall, crispy and filled with air, both were delicious but the Lucuma(a Peruvian fruit) pastry creme was the standout. It had such a delightful delicate flavor I had never tasted previously. After speaking with Carmen the owner I asked whether or not they ever carried Turrón de doñja Pepa. She just happened to have some freshly baked sitting on the tray behind the counter, but alas it was still awaiting its filling. This gives me a great reason to return and indulge in that special treat. It is prepared every other week. The service was warm and friendly. This is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood you shouldn't miss out on. I will be returning often.“

“I found this amazing coffee/tea place waiting for my ride, the owner was kind, and welcoming and told me about some of the menu items, outdoor seating is available and the bar was clean with refreshments to buy, I got the raspberry, vanilla and lemon macrons which were soft and fresh, she also recommended the citrus green tea which wasn't overly sweet and super refreshing, I also got a chocolate and peanut butter cookie which were also soft and fresh, this place is easily a 10 out of 10 and I will be returning,“

“Outstanding restaurant! We are so glad we came by! The prices are very affordable, portions very large and as flavorful and authentic Italian you can get anywhere in Chicago. The restaurant was busy when we came for dinner service, but the food still came out quick (tapas style) and service was incredible. We recommend the Neopolitan pizza, Beef Short Rib, and the Shrimp Diavolo, and the Tiramisu (best I have ever had) Very impressed! We stopped by twice before leaving the city.“
