I had an amazing experience at this sushi restaurant! The waitresses were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced our dining experience.

The food was outstanding—the soup was rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious, making for a perfect start to the meal. I also tried the avocado roll, which was exceptionally fresh and of the highest quality. The avocado was perfectly ripe and creamy, complementing the sushi beautifully.

“What you want from more of an upscale vegan place. Went in very hungry and tried a lot of things. Don’t sleep on the broccoli appetizer—that was my favorite dish. The ramen was my least favorite—would try a different main next time. It is pricier, but the value for money feels right. We got a ton of dishes and drinks and our bill was under $200 for two people. We didn’t need to order as much as we did, but I only visit Chicago occasionally so it was a treat.“

“Decently priced new omakase in town. The nigiri was well paced and appreciated the attentive waiter providing insight on the selection and order. Bar service ran slow. Water service was timely. I’m not always a big proponent of any special treatment but I think if you write both honeymoon AND birthday on the reservation there should probably be a little something to make the occasion, especially if they plop a QR code in front of you at the end to ask you for a review. Left a sour and disappointing note to the night, not sure who missed that but something to be aware of if people are coming to spend hard earned money to mark a special occasion. We ended up going down the street to Chef’s Special for a little more hospitality in that regard and got a candle in our dessert and some comped cookies. A little goes a long way!“

The atmosphere was convivial with the chef explaining the food and answering questions from the diners with everyone in the room being able to hear. The single waiter, Jose, was also a delight. I would return here in a heartbeat despite the price tag.“

“Hands down, this was most incredible dining experience I've had the pleasure of tasting in my life. My husband was able to reserve a table for us same day, and while we waited to be seated in the sushi bar at the back, we were served a couple of delicious cocktails. Once seated, the real magic began!

I have never tasted such unique creations before. Each bite was exquisite, each fish's unique flavors complimented but not overwhelmed by the incredibly fresh ingredients atop each piece, expertly crafted and delightfully arranged. Omakase can be a bit of an intimidating experience, especially if you are not sure what you are getting. It can be an experiment in trust. I can say that after the first bite of sushi, the tartare, I wholeheartedly trusted whatever Chef Marcos wanted to put on my plate!

The sushi chefs were so talented and so friendly, answering all our questions about the food and more. I felt I got to know Chef Marcos in particular, who was both skilled, well traveled, and wicked fun to talk to. He even delighted me by speaking a bit of Vietnamese, which I found impressive and charming in equal amounts.

I cannot say enough about how mind-blowing this dining experience was. If I am ever back in Chicago, you can bet I will be back again to enjoy what new creations Chef Marcos has in store for the season.

Dietary restrictions: It is also of note that my husband has a shellfish allergy, and all chefs were incredibly careful in accommodating my husband's allergy, subbing out ingredients so that he wouldn't miss out on anything. I found their care and attention to detail to his allergy be very impressive, and I'm sure anyone with any dietary restrictions will find them equally accommodating.
