All cakes look amazing and those I tried are to die for. Amazing fresh baked French bread and specialty crafted wine selection (buy for home only). Calm classical music adds the final touch to make your morning or afternoon coffee a remembering experience. I only would like to see some loose leaf tees on the menu. “I arrived to pick up my online order of 2 Ruebens and one mint milkshake for my mother's 80th birthday! Low and behold, there was a mistake and it had been taken with another online order by mistake. They graciously paid for my children's slices of pizza while we waited and then refunded the entire order. They went above and beyond and we weren't expecting that. Anticipating needs, attention to detail and gracious with the mistake that can happen. Can't wait to return. I had heard they had the best Reubens you have EVER had and my mother agreed. Weekends start off right with an SBK pizza on a Friday night. I’ve been coming here for years. During Covid, SBK became my local grocery store. “So today I had a friend in from out of town and we topped off our afternoon with a visit to Miski Bakery. I was dying to try the alfajores, and they did not disappoint! The very delicate morsels melted in our mouth, and the creamy luscious dollop of dulce de leche caramel was a perfect pairing. In addition we tried the Milhojas/Napoleons in two flavors the Lucuma pastry creme and also the dulce de leche. A thousand layers is correct, these were amazingly tall, crispy and filled with air, both were delicious but the Lucuma(a Peruvian fruit) pastry creme was the standout. It had such a delightful delicate flavor I had never tasted previously. After speaking with Carmen the owner I asked whether or not they ever carried Turrón de doñja Pepa. She just happened to have some freshly baked sitting on the tray behind the counter, but alas it was still awaiting its filling. This gives me a great reason to return and indulge in that special treat. It is prepared every other week. The service was warm and friendly. This is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood you shouldn't miss out on. I will be returning often.“

“I love this bakery! I first came on the Flavors of Albany Park tour and have returned since for wonderful baked goods. The owners are so friendly and generous. I got the peanut cream pastry, red bean cream bun, and a green tea cake. They gave me a corn cake to try as well which was so kind! Everything they make is light, perfectly sweet, and so good.

FYI they only accept cash or Zelle for payment.“

“I recently was looking to have our wedding cake recreated as a surprise for our anniversary. Our wedding cake was specific to Europe/Ireland and seems to be hard to come by in the states. After contacting several bakeries, none were willing to attempt it. I finally got in contact with James. The result blew us away. The cake was not only beautiful, it tasted amazing! James and his team were incredible to work with. I recommend using him if you are ever looking for beautiful and delicious cakes or have specific requests. a couple cakes for some family birthday parties, and one very special unicorn cake for my toddler’s birthday. I walked in, described what I was looking for, and every cake I ordered turned out so much better than I could have imagined! The cakes were all absolutely beautiful and DELICIOUS! Kids and adults alike kept raving about them - and the process couldn’t have been easier. This baker is a gem to work with and he makes some very good baked goods. Wouldn’t think twice about going back, and recommended it to everyone at the party. Plus, he’s less than half the cost of some of these “designer” bakers out there - and it was SUCH a beautiful cake!!

“I recently visited this spot and tried the Nova Lox Bagel. While the bagel itself was fresh and well-toasted, the salmon was a letdown. Nova lox is typically known for being less salty than regular smoked salmon, but in this case, it was overly salty and overwhelmed the other flavors. The toppings, like cream cheese, capers, and onions, were well-balanced, but the saltiness of the salmon really detracted from the overall experience.

I also decided to try the apricot cookie, but that turned out to be a mistake. I was surprised to learn it cost nearly $5—far more than I expected for a single cookie. Unfortunately, the taste was disappointing; it was so unpalatable that I couldn’t even finish it. The texture was dense and off-putting, and the apricot flavor was barely there. It felt like a waste of money, and I left feeling dissatisfied.

The prices were reasonable for the bagel, but the quality didn’t fully match my expectations. As for the cookie, it was overpriced and not worth trying again. Overall, a mixed experience—there’s potential, but the execution fell short.“
