“Service was great! Very nice atmosphere, and classy without being stuffy. Our food was overall very good, our omelette could have used a bit of seasoning, and something to brighten it up a bit, but that could be a matter of preference. I would definitely recommend eating here, the positives were way more notable than any negatives.”

“Hidden gem—almost impossible to see the name of this little restaurant, so it’s easy to miss! But what a fun surprise when you do find it. Great drinks—I tried the Hibiscus Margarita, my hubby had the classic. Very tasty! The food had great authentic flavor and was very reasonably priced for Birmingham. I had the shrimp taco and didn’t love how thick the soft shell was, but the flavor was delicious and the sauce with the shrimp was yummy. My hubby and daughter loved their dishes. He got a steak special and she got the Biria dish.
The coconut cake and churro cheese cake dessert were fabulous and worth the calories!
Service was great, friendly and helpful!

“Ice cream is delicious. They’re small. Is the size of some other ice cream shops larges if you’ve seen some of my other reviews, the only thing I will say to critique this place is I wish they had more than vanilla and chocolate and that they brought in their seasonal flavors all year around I understand that space can be an issue, but I bet they would make a lot more money if they had orange selling all year around.”

“Every time we come here the food is great and so is the service! I’ve never had a bad experience. My biggest tip is make sure all your party is there before requesting a table. You get seated quicker if everyone is there. Keep up the great work!”

“I stop by Hunter house anytime I am in the area. They have the best burgers, onion rings fries you can look over the menu inside and not one thing in there I would not recommend trying. That is my go to spot when I want a top of the line fresh burger yes can be busy, But it’s definitely worth the wait. I have never gotten my order wrong or the wrong order for that matter. The staff is good. They are friendly, funny great sense of humor. I’ve been going there for years and I’ll still keep going. It’s a great place. If you want something from outside of the ordinary, it’s grilled and deep fried right there. You can either call ahead and have your order done or you can walk right in you can dine in or you can order a carryout right from the inside. It’s a local treasure for Birmingham, Royal Oak, Southfield, and Clawson, Michigan”

“I stopped in today on a whim. I was going to go to the big coffee chain up the road but opted against it. I'm glad I did! the baristas recommended a brown sugar latte with pistachio milk and that's what I got, iced. It was phenomenal. Great price point for the quality of the product. Crispelli's pastries. 5 stars, highly recommend and will be back again.”

“Great place to try French pastries and great coffees. We tried chocolate croissant in the evening but it was nice flaky and exact amount of sweetness not overly sweet. Matcha latte was great just add a syrup if you like it sweet.Tiramisu also tasted very traditional. Quiet place to visit with max of 5 people. It is charming and cozy bakery.”

“This review is for the Royal Oak Roast only. The road is full of as*holes , the world going to sh*t more and more. The people in charge care not at all and we are on a very possible path to doom. Why not stop in at Royal Oak Roast? It’s a comfy place with great people watching. The coffee is wonderful and refills are a dollar. So many different coffee choices in all styles, including espresso over over Weiss vanilla ice cream!!! The kitchen, yes I said kitchen has scrumptious food that is presented beautifully with the seasonal selections. All this sound good? Well that’s not even the best part. It’s the staff. It’s a varied collection of kind, hard working people that make you feel welcomed and are always working hard to get your order out to you. Leave the stress behind and relax here with friends and future friends. You will be glad you came”

“I ran in at 4:50pm just before closing. The team was just as cheerful and helpful as if it were 9am. Fortunately they were not sold out ofvtge items I wanted. I left a satisfied Customer and the food was delicious!”

“Very fancy and expensive restaurant. One of the few restaurants in metro Detroit (and likely the whole of Michigan) that serves Baked Alaska. They do not flame it in front of you nor does it come with sparklers like some restaurants may do. Still it was delicious. Jamie was a great waitress, friendly and in a good mood. There is no parking lot for Forrest, however after 5:30 pm and on weekends you can use the AAA Birmingham parking lot which is right next door. Very nice interior. The water glasses are small. There is a candle at the table.”

“On Set. 19, I brought my 96-yr-old mom here for a drink and hors d'oeuvres. I had sent a note on the online reservation form that we would appreciate a quiet table. The receptionist had knowledge of the request without my saying anything, and immediately showed me three locations she thought would suit. I wish I had gotten her name, for management to commend her. (We arrived at 5:15, which should help you know to whom I refer.) We sat in a booth, and our server, Usama, made our nearly 3-hr (!) visit truly joyful and perfect! Again, management - please take note. We agreed that he was the best waiter either of us have ever had - attentive, fun and funny, and going the extra mile in tailoring our drinks to our (sweet-tooth!) tastes, and making us feel welcome and special. This was likely my mom's final "fancy" outing, and I am so grateful to Usama for making it perfect. Kudos also to the chefs. Our 3 dishes were superb - beef tips, shrimp, hummus.”

He pointed out the menu’s recommendations, didn’t rush us, and personalized the order of when we’d like our choices brought out to the table. Every dish we ordered from appetizers to the complimentary Birthday dessert, was tremendous! We reserved a standard table in one of their dining rooms. However, even the bar area with high top tables would not disappoint. Don’t hesitate to make this a place to experience. They offer a great menu of salads, seafood, steaks, and be sure to ask about specials. They offer a vast wine menu and specialty drinks. We WILL be back!
