“This was my first time here the food was excellent and the service was pretty good, should have gotten more attention. When making the reservation I mentioned that it was for a birthday celebration. We had to ask again for that and they said they were gonna give us shots but instead gave us mochi and ice cream“

“The food at Fan Szechuan reminds us so much of home-cooked food—warm and flavorful! We really enjoyed trying the Peking duck, sesame noodles, and spicy wontons. There were so many different appetizer options, including spicy and nonspicy choices. The atmosphere was also inviting and cozy, with tasteful decor and a welcoming vibe. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed for a great dining experience. Whether you are craving something rich and hearty or light and savory, there is something for everyone. Fan Szechuan is the perfect spot for comforting and satisfying meals!!

““Wow, finally some real Cantonese food in Manhattan! As a Chinese person, I have to say, it’s rare to find a place that feels so much like home. The fried vegetables were incredibly fresh and cooked just right. If you love authentic Chinese flavors, you’ll want to try this place out!” The dessert also delicious!!!!!“

“Food was absolutely delicious, we were there during lunch time so we had a hot&sour soup, chicken with broccoli and rice and some gyozas, taste was great, I recommend this place to every one.
The only downside is that restroom smell could be felt from the tables, I consider that unacceptable so this might be something to consider because it removes all the elegance felt in the place“

“Pretty standard flavor spot, slightly pricy if considering the quality. Things would go wrong but nothing really stands out.
They serve fast, clean fast, bill you fast. Understandable but it feels like you are rushed to get out.
✨Tea-smoked duck might be the one I would recommend. The flavor was mild but rich. Meat was not dry.
Dan-Dan noodles was good, a classic. I recommend ask for some vinegar to mix with.
The chive fried pancake was authentic.“

“I highly recommend their famous pork spicy appetizer. It was our 4th times in this place. I would say their meat is high quality because you can tell from the flavor itself. This is our couples favorite Sichuan place. Tonight, we tried SeaBass Mala it was delicious but too spicy but we’ve finish it 😄😛😋“

“Was a walk-in on a Saturday night at eight, but this place is huge and we were seated within twenty mins! Noise levels on the lower end, even when the place was busy!
Our order was quickly taken by our friendly server, Jeevan, which included: Ginger Sour String Beans (nice and garlicy), Chicken Lo Mein, Veggie Fried Rice, Cumin Fries, Dry Pot Style (Chicken, and Tofu). Food was in-line with expectations and hit all the right spots! I wish it was a little spicy, and their 10/10 spice level is not that spicy! Excellent Sichuan food though in the UWS neighborhood. Menu slightly on the expensive side;
Will definitely be frequenting this place for their super quick service, and good food!
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly 😎“

“We eat at Hot Fish quite often, and usually order the same dishes. I was lucky enough to be their "Tasting Panel Foodie" winner, and was invited to try some different items from the menu. If you want to indulge in an unforgettable gastronomic experience, you have to try the Fresh Striped Bass. I ordered it with spicy sauce, but there are six different flavors to chose from. We also ordered the Sliced Beef with Black Pepper. The beef was so tender and juicy, paired with onions and bell peppers in a savory, black pepper sauce. Then we ordered Dry Pot Cabbage, a mouth-watering Sichuan dish that you have to try. For our last course, we had the Yang Chow Fried Rice, the best I have ever tasted. Thank you, Hot Fish. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and the staff and service were exceptional. I highly recommend dining here when you are looking for a great Sichuan experience.“

“Had a lovely dinner here! The shrimp dumplings soft and tender in a nice sauce. If you like some kick I think you have to ask for extra spice as it was more mild in flavor.
The fish we had for dinner was awesome with an incredible presentation making it easy to eat. Meal was: Crispy Whole fish with pine nuts and garlic sauce.
If you have a large group they do have a large round table with a sweet Lazy Susan.“

“One of my favorite Szechuan spots in NYC. They are probably the best in LIC as mentioned in their name.
Only miss I’ve had here is the mapo tofu. Too much oil and had no meat.
But I would recommend the green beans, cumin lamb, dry pot. All delicious.“

“THE SOUP DUMPLINGS ARE A MUST-HAVE!!! I forgot to take photos because I absolutely devoured them before I got the chance, but they are so flavorful!! Truly the best I’ve ever had. “My favorite authentic Sichuan hot pot in Manhattan. They get 5/5 for food because their soup base options are plentiful and you can choose your pot style! That is a mega plus for me because I can’t eat beef. Love the spicy but can’t have any beef cross contamination. When going with friends, I need my own no-beef zone!
I went recently and their ordering changed for the better. Everything is on the iPad and it’s very easy to go through and order what you want. You can easily go back in and add more items!
Dietary restrictions: Vegan soup base, spicy vegan soup base, non-spicy soup bases that are flavored in many different ways (tomato, mushroom, pork bone, etc)“

“I got the spicy beef noodle soup and the dumplings in chili oil. I thought the soup was decent. I would have preferred it spicer and there wasn't a ton of beef in it. The broth wasn't super rich, but still had decent flavors. One of my favorite things about the soup were the pickled(?) bamboo shoots. It was actually probably my favorite thing in the soup! The dumplings were really good! The chili oil was another star of the meal and I ended up added some into my soup for more spice and flavor.“

“Not just the place you go to when lil’ tif is too busy. Chiko is delicious. Mapo tofu, dan dan noodles and string beans were all great and the two mains were generous portions for the price. Also I really appreciate it when a restaurant doesn’t skimp on the white rice ($2/bowl).“

“So delicious! Probably the Chinese food I have ever had. It all tasted so fresh and the plates kept it hot the whole meal. I wouldn't shut up the whole meal about how yummy it was lol.
We've tried the crab rangoons, kung pao chicken, mapo tofu, noodles w. scallion oil, and fried rice with mustard green shoots. All delicious.“

“I think Szechuan food can be very hit or miss. We've had some good tries and some places that are too spicy for the sake of being spicy. So I'm always nervous...but this place hit the spot.
There's a reason the sliced pork belly with chili sauce is pictured on the menu. Aesthetically beautiful and ultimately such a great bite. Slices of pork with a cucumber inside to be smothered in a delicious chili sauce. Could have eaten this dish ten times over.
We also got the peppercorn beef, which was a last minute choice as this wasn't on the menu we had seen online. The beef was great and plentiful. The soup itself...the restaurant is called peppercorn for a reason. It's super numbingly spicy.
Other dish we got was the crab meat sauce. I didn't care as much for this. I didn't realize the crab meat would be mostly pureed into the sauce and that the main draw would be the tofu. It was probably technically well done but not my favorite dish.
Finally, the truffle cauliflower was a dish I was always going to enjoy, and it lived up to my expectations. Super truffly, perfectly crispy. Such a delicious bite.
We made a reservation but for Sunday lunch there were plenty of tables. Quick service. Absolutely worth stopping in.“

“The beef noodle soup is very good, specially the noodle, chewy and soft. Delicious! It’s remind me of beef noodle soup in Taiwan.
The fried chicken is not good, taste like you make at home. Overall price is good and quick service.“

“Ok.. gotta say you need to know what this place is about before coming in. Like how to order. Kinda confusing. Really healthy food though. Bae and I always passed by on the way to the park. Finally decided to stop in. Okay...
Gonna just hand me the bill and not even take the dirty plates.. I see how it is...rush us out.. you played yourself. Lowered rating for service“

“I have to eat a meat free meal so I ordered the tofu with mixed vegetables. I requested that the tofu be steamed and come with a brown sauce on the side, for dipping purposes. The vegetables have little taste, but the tasty sauce made up for that. It comes with a choice of white or brown rice.“

“Do not sleep on this gem!!!! I wanted to try a local spot while on vacation in NY, and I am so glad I stumbled across this location. The service and staff are amazing, the food is delicious. I loved the small details like the design on the napkin, and I didn't have to wait to be seated. I wish I could have brought the jasmine tea back to my hotel. I will be coming back to this location on my next visit to NY!“

“Always passed by this place... what a mistake. I was amazed by the szechuan food!!! The spicy spliced fish // the fish cabbage soup // bokchoy is so flavorful. It's a hole in the wall restaurant, of course service isn't going to be michelin star grade. but the food is authentic flavorful and relatively cheap for the area, and the serving size is impressive. will keep going back, will bring friends.“

“Would give 3.5 stars. The beef lo mein was good. The chicken and broccoli was good, but it didn’t taste like what I expected. The scallion pancakes I would absolutely not order again. There were hardly any scallions and the pancakes had a styrofoam like texture which was super off putting.“

The food is very good, we were delighted and I would return without thinking twice. It has no comparison with Chinese street food. I would spend the same and without quality, this restaurant is very good. I recommend it 100%.“
