“I typically avoid writing restaurant critiques, given my years of experience in the industry. However, my recent visit to Gramercy Tavern compelled me to share my thoughts due to the disappointing experience. I was excited to dine at the bar after waiting half an hour for a seat. I ordered my usual drink, appetizer, and main dish, knowing the restaurant’s reputation for excellence. However, things took a turn when I stepped away to use the restroom. During that brief moment, my belongings—two bags—were removed and given to the coat check staff without my knowledge. When I returned, I was unceremoniously escorted to the exit, which left me confused and uncomfortable. At the reception, I tried to express my concerns, but the staff was dismissive. I requested to speak with a manager, but the coat check attendant firmly stated there was nothing to discuss and closed the door in my face. This treatment was not only unprofessional but also disheartening, especially after spending $145 on my meal. It’s unfortunate that a great dining experience was overshadowed by poor service and a lack of accountability. I hope the management reviews this situation to prevent it from happening to others in the future.“

“Incredible cocktails and food in a lovely setting with great vibes. Went for a light bite and some drinks. Service was warm, attentive and friendly as well. The Pandan Punch was honestly the best cocktail I’ve had to date! Excited to return to try more entrees.“

“Loved every dish- fluke with black tea, mint and peach(who knew raw fish and fruit went so well together?), amazing grilled artichokes and grilled eggplant. Barely touched my pasta with preserved lemon because I was full, but it was delicious. My daughter’s burger was iconic. The Platonic ideal of hamburgers. Coffee was also delicious. If we had not made a plan to go to La Cabral for dessert and more coffee, I am sure dessert would have been equally excellent.Service was excellent and our waitress was knowledgeable and interested in the food.The fluke reminded me of the first time I went to USC in 1988. I had a plate with raw marinated tuna, raw salmon and raw scallops. The little heaps of fish were so pretty on the plate with their contrasting colors.“

From one of the best executions of a Caesar salad I have ever had to an inventive mussel toast dish that smacks and crunches. As usual, the space, the staff, even the music choices are pitch perfect. “Noortwyk is somewhere I keep coming back to! I’ve been with friends, with my entire team, on a date, for dinner and for brunch. It’s one of my fav spots in the west village and one that you can usually get a reservation at relatively last minute - a HUGE plus!!

For brunch I enjoyed their breakfast sandwich and cinnamon roll - ileene cho is their pastry chef who is amazing!!

For dinner I love the kale salad, bucatini, bbq duck and their parker house seeded roll with cultured butter (so good we always end up ordering two!).

I used to love their original Mille Feuille but have been disappointed by their 2.0 version which they’ve ‘deconstructed’. This no longer feels like a premium dessert/Mille Feuille but instead more a random pieces of puff pastry on top of some bananas and cream. Please bring back 1.0!! :)

Service I find is a little inconsistent - first few times I went service was very attentive, welcoming and helpful but on my most recent trip it was less so.“

“I was taken tonight for my bday and I am thoroughly impressed. I was greeted by the most beautiful human in the front and felt like I was in a really cool speak easy. The staff were super cool and suggested some great items on the menu. The food was incredible and the drinks were phenomenal. Definitely a place to dress cute and sit at the bar, or bring a date.“

“Want to make your pallet dance? Of course you do! Boutros is the place to go from their tantalizing cocktails to their original baba ghanoush and falafel you’ll be simply amazed. Old school, traditional recipes with a twist of new flare. Mikey is a wizard for creating his cocktails. I had the pleasure of trying two of them that he created after thinking about them for 12 years and I highly recommend them the Garlic Gibson and the Bitter tree, both are amazing. Allen, who is the chef and owner and named this quaint little place after his dad will delight you with his specialties my Sister and I had the mushroom hummus. “Our server Katie, hands down the best person I have ever met, sis came over with the most energetic attitude, filled my water within 30 Seconds of me sitting down, she answered any questions I had about the menu (there were quite a few) she was so attentive and made this experience one of the best ones. “Those in the know won't worry to much about 5 leaves not being rated a 4.5 or higher, why you ask? Because it really doesn't matter when the ricotta pancakes are THAT FREAKING GOOD! Seriously every 3rd person orders those pancakes. They also have a great Mocha and black kale salad. If you're not in the mood for sweet fair try the moroccan scramble which is perfect for something light but filling. I got the BLAT on my first visit and it was also good. Now if you're there for dinner been warned the burger is quite filling but it will be worth it even if you gotta waddle home.“

“Had a wonderful brunch today at Hudson Clearwater. The smoothie was outstanding. This is a quaint rustic spot and deserves all the love for their vegan friendly menu. I chose the blackened fish sandwich and it did not disappoint. The Cole slaw on the brioche bun, lightly covered with tarter sauce, made for a perfect sandwich. Their fries were delectable as well. Great service, and a great meal with my sweetheart.“

“Found this little gem and reserved for dinner. We were supposed to be in the Crystal Room but our host let us know that there was a big family with lots of kids so we opted to stay downstairs for a quieter meal. The main floor is decorated very nicely and while there were a number of other guests, it wasn't very loud at all. The food and drinks were fantastic, the service was impeccable, and the prices were reasonable considering the area. Lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options as well, for those with dietary needs. I would definitely dine here again!“

“I had to take one star off because this is definitely not a fine dining experience even though that is what they advertise themselves as. If it were not for the food I would have given this a two star review.

The experience was not pleasant. We were seated at a makeshift table, where the window was right behind me. My seat was the bench to the window (essentially where people sit to wait to be seated). I do not know if this is an everyday thing or because they were overbooked but this was not pleasant. The table was right next to the door, so everytime the door opens the wind blasts at us (it did not help that there was a kid that was running in and out of the restaurant). Other guests were standing right next to our table hovering right over us as we were eating and because they were waiting to be seated. For a "fine dining" restaurant there was nothing "fine dining" to it.

The food however was very good. The blending of Asian influences with a modern approach was very nice. The fried chicken was incredible. The inside was still super juicy and soft while the outside was very crispy. That was our favorite dish of the night.“

“Inga’s Bar does not serve bar food, really, despite the name and despite the cheeseburger on its menu — a very good and unpretentious one, on a soft toasted bun with white onions, crisp dill pickles, sweet bread-and-butter pickles and a stack of two pressed beef patties, each in its own shiny orange sheath of melted American cheese. You wouldn’t think it was out of place in the kind of tavern where mugs are kept in a freezer below the beer taps and the food is served in plastic baskets, unless you knew that the pickles are made on site. OK, the dark, from-scratch fries with freshly whisked mayonnaise might give the game away, too.“

The award-winning chefs use the best quality ingredients to produce dishes that are simply delightful. The restaurant also offers a wonderful drink menu, and they offer one of the best wines in the region. They get new menu every couple of months and make it more fun to try new dishes.“

“It’s surprising that this small restaurant holds both the James Beard Award for Best Chef in New York and a Michelin One Star.

The bar seats are nice because you can watch the chefs at work, but it’s very dimly lit, so a table might be a better choice.

Even though the head chef has changed, it seems the dishes now have richer flavors, perhaps due to the added South American influences.

This was one of the finest restaurants I’ve ever visited, and even the desserts were fantastic.“
