“Finally went to Moono and it delivered. Each dish held its own with unique flavors. We had a la carte among four of us with a bottle of makeoli and were happily filled with 1 appetizer and 3 entrees. We ordered an extra bowl of white rice which is the move as so many dishes had excellent sauces that you just wanted to soak up with rice, plus the white rice itself is perfect with a sweetness to it.

We had Hoe Muchim + Kim, Beef Hotpot, Mushroom Sotbap, and Galbijjim. It was outstanding from the cold cucumber soup at the beginning to the end. Beef hotpot is great for those who appreciate that pure beef taste and experience- it is lightly seasoned and in my opinion a great contrast to the big flavors of Galbijjim. Galbijjim is a crowd pleaser and easy to enjoy, it is a most indulgent version with meat removed from the bones. We only wished the dish were layered with more vegetables / mushrooms, which were not side characters in this dish. Sotbap was fragrant - only wished that they scooped out the crispy bits, which are the best parts. Maybe they can offer guests the option to serve themselves rather than take away and return with the scooped out bowls for each person.

Also would love to see more makgeolli options on the drinks menu.

I've visited this restaurant in the Astoria area of Queens, NY with my family and friends.
After playing semi-pro soccer and now as an amateur, I always come here to enjoy a great time.

THE CRAB CAKE and remoulade was INSANE, as well as the lobster tacos for appetizers. I had the yummy sea bass and butter cake for dessert. I can't WAIT to go back. 20 out of 10!“

“Love Upstate! Happy hour is 5-7 and you get 6 oysters and a beer for $13, plus a little piece of cake comes with the check. All of their food is great and reasonably priced. I would recommend making a reservation or having a back up plan as they are usually pretty busy.“

Very welcoming and cozy, modern Thai restaurant with the South East Asian flare you'd be looking for if having visited Thailand before. Decor is a mix of modern and traditional which gives a nice feel, ambiance is relaxed.

I was greeted with friendly & warm smiles and seated at the spacious bar area where Yatika helped me decide food/drink choices. I can vouch for the excellent food quality and selection (Northern Thai & Bangkok) having ordered Khanom Jeen Nam Ngiao & Tom Kha soup

Shout out to Yatika for the excellent service and making your patrons feel welcomed and wanting to come back! I'd highly recommend and will definitely be back when coming through the city. Double 👍👍“

We visited Brooklyn again this year for the NYC marathon and low and behold, this place was only a few stops away on the subway. And I owed my hubs a lunch anywhere he wanted to go because I lost this year's NCAA basketball pool, so here we are. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. After getting a great window seat, my Sis jokingly said, "How romantic, too bad I'm here with my brother". Our gorgeous server Michelle was spectacular. She made multiple trips to the bar to find 'just the right wine' for my sister's particular taste and made two special requests to the kitchen on our behalf. Michelle's calming presence and 'in the moment' attitude made us feel very special. Being an intellectual herself, Michelle engaged with us most excellently in conversation. Not this time at Piccola Cucina Estiatorio, 71 Thompson Street NYC. After seeing their extremely authentic Sicilian menu online I knew that it had to be the real thing. After easily reserving a table online we showed up with yes our hopes being very high. For the first time the food was everything I had hoped for. 1. Arancini: nicely crunchy and flavored. Not oily or old at all. 2. Grilled veggies: although simply presented they were really tasty and fresh. 3. Involtini: out of this world. Exactly made like in my town in Sicily. A Moist, tender, flavored with some really tasty mozzarella cheese, served on a nice bed of caponata. 4. Maccheroni alla Norma: finally my very favorite dish. I almost cried. Besides a fantastic pasta, rigorously cooked al dente, there was a more than generous amount of diced eggplant, obviously, with basil leaves, olive oil and everything the Mediterranean has so generously given to Sicily for thousands of years. It’s worth mentioning the more than welcome grated “ricotta salata” as a testimony to the high attention to detail of Chef Gioele. That was a dinner I will not easily forget. The last thing I want to say is that, according to the highly professional and attentive staff, almost every single ingredient in this restaurant is flown directly from Sicily including the very tasty cannoli filled with ricotta cheese. (The cheese flies frozen during shipping). Sorry for the long review. I only wanted to show my super happiness with this restaurant. ANGELO.“
