“The Japanese and Italian flavors mixed well and are to come back for. I stayed in the hotel where the restraunt was attached. In the area, with a focus of cocktails and table service for an upscale environment, it was delightful.
I love cocktails, and the servers were personable. Nothing pretentious. They focus on service and taste! Our food was excellent and the drinks were even better. It's a pleasant experience.“

“Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!“

“Very good food and for the value. From California and our prices for similar sushi would be much higher! Fish is fresh, had the hand rolls which were very good. My friend had the bento and the salmon was a bit dry but otherwise food was good! The sushi taco appetizer and sesame cucumbers were excellent!“

“Put this place on the map!!!! A tried a true, best of the best, MUST go to spot when visiting (or living in) NYC. No exaggeration, my boyfriend and I haven’t stopped talking about this place since we visited last year. We’ll finally be back in town next month and are beyond excited to be dining with them again. Did we book a trip just to eat here!? Maybe… probably… because seriously, this place is exceptional. The owner is the sweetest, most delightful human with an incredible story and the food/service is an unmatched experience. Plus, you simply can’t beat their affordable omakasi prices…but the bigger bonus??? BYOB. Bring your wine, bring your tequila, bring neither or bring both. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a party in the most intimate sense. I never write reviews, but Sushi YOLO is a 10/10, so please, do yourself a favor and go see them before they earn that Michelin Star!“

“Sushi Makoto was a very fresh experience. The selection of fish was standard but the other appetizers and dishes were unique. The vibe is awesome— with a little more intimacy than some other omakase spots in the city. As well, for the price point, the value here is great. I’ve paid more for less in the city and it feels like these days it’s hard to find “good” omakase for under $200 PP. Corkage fee is very reasonable, and their sake cooling decide is almost worth a visit in itself!
My only quarrel is that it took some time to get seated, for a reservation at 7, a lot of the guests from earlier were still dining and we weren’t sat until closer to 7:20. Which isn’t the end of the world, but something to perhaps note from a business side. Lastly, I would’ve liked to be offered more at the end of the meal instead of being given the cheque. Perhaps that’s standard protocol but it was not offered to us our evening there.
Regardless, amazing experience. Truly loved this spot.“

“Looking for the perfect spot to enjoy delicious ramen and good company? Look no further! This place boasts a cozy, inviting atmosphere that's ideal for chatting with friends. The service was outstanding, and the food was good. The ramen selection is extensive, and the appetizers and sushi were equally delicious. I especially loved the volcano roll, even with the surprising kick from the jalapeno. Highly recommend for a relaxed and tasty meal.“

“We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Fushimi Restaurant! The food was delicious, from the appetizers we ordered to our main course. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. We also enjoyed a couple of drinks, which perfectly complemented our meal. What truly made our visit exceptional was the incredible service provided by our waitress, Ohmie. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Her warm demeanor and professionalism truly elevated our dining experience. We strongly recommend Fushimi Restaurant, especially because of the outstanding service we received from Ohmie. We’ll definitely be back!“

“This is the best sushi in NY in my opinion. Amazing chef and Shari is just perfect. All Nigiri are great. There are so many mediocre, non-taditional sushi in NY. This place is amazing pure edomae. Highly recommended! I come here many times if I can get a reservation“

“My fiancé and I are always looking for pockets of home (Hawaii) wherever we are, and we’re grateful to have found Juban in New York City. Not only is the food authentic and delicious (yakitori and sushi are to die for!) but the atmosphere is welcoming and cozy and the staff is like family to us. The sake selection is also on point! If you can, stop by for a drink, some skewers and the vibes.“

“Typically Omakase restaurants are very formal and proper. I planned, we walked in and what a great time. We laughed with all and they gave us free drinks.
Food prep was done with artistically done.

“I am a local from New Jersey now living in Germany, came back to visit and was in the mood for a Poke Bowl. I have to say I have been to many poke places and this is THE BEST ONE. Everything tastes fresh. I love that you have many options on creating your bowl. I also had a taro bubble tea and it was delicious! Employees are very friendly and welcoming. I will be stopping here a few more times before I head back to Germany!“

“The food is just too delicious. Was trying to order the 13 courses since it is our first time to be here but changed it to 17 courses right after the first bite of our first course.
The combination of the piece of sushi is also a piece of art. I am impressed by the creativity the chef has put on the dishes he has made for us.
Thank you so much for this unique experience for our marriage anniversary, Chef DC!
You have made a special dining experience for our special day! Hope to see you soon !“

“New places can be hit or misses these days. This one was a big hit. In order to succeed in that location you pretty much have to become a destination spot, and that requires another level skills. These guys got the experience and created something fun and different (for most NYC). Get the fried chicken, cabbage, steak, and spicy tuna on crispy rice. Full report on EatingwithZiggy[.com]“

“It’s really great food especially for the price. I got the chicken teriyaki special for 9.99 and it comes with veggies and fried or white rice. I got no veggies and did half and half rice which they were very accommodating with. I definitely recommend !!“

“I highly recommend Toriya.
Delicious authentic yakitori with so many options it's hard to choose.
They also offer larger plates and smaller appetizers as well. I had their seafood okonomiyaki which was wonderful.
The drink menu is wonderful offering a good selection of Japanese beers, soju, and a very extensive and well crafted sake menu.
Also I was seated immediately despite dropping in at a prime time on a Friday evening.
The ambiance is very nice, well decorated with excellent choices in music that is not overly loud.
The staff were all lovely and very attentive as well. Truly top notch all around.
Vegetarian options: Numerous vegetable only Yakitori options as well as vegetarian friendly large plates.“

“Gorgeous atmosphere and friendly staff. I loved the open wall concept. Additionally the service was quick and delicious! Can't wait to come back! Edit:
Drinks were Lychee Soda mocktail, Mixed Berry Mocktail. Food was the Wonton Chicken Ramen. I asked for it spicy, if which they gave me some pepper on the side :).“

“You feel welcome once you step into this place. Service is top notch. 12 course dishes are all with very fresh ingredients and very delicious. I would say their Modern Kaiseki is very good even compare to those you find in Tokyo or Osaka. Last, if you are into Sake, you have to try their pairing and the staff their are very knowledgeable on what they pick.“

“Amazing intimate tempura omakase experience from start to finish. Considering how small the restaurant is, the reservation only dining, and the attention to detail and to patrons, the pricing is more than fair. Came to celebrate husbands birthday and Daiimu, our waiter was nothing short of giving us the best experience. My husband really enjoyed ten-don in Japan and nothing we had in the US could compare until this experience. All tempura were lightly and perfectly fried. It’s a long meal yes but it’s because you’re supposed to enjoy the meal as well as the company.
Highly recommended and hoping to return in the future.“

“Small restaurant but big flavor.
The chicken teriyaki box is a great deal served fresh with fantastic flavor and came with so many delicious sides. I also tried a couple of sushi rolls and seems like you can't go wrong with any options. I haven't had fresh cuts of fish like that anywhere else! Definitely recommend!“

“I wish I took before pictures of our food. We stopped in after a very long day out and about and the food was so good that we left feeling energized. We got the ocean roll, pork buns, tonkotsu ramen and a spicy tuna onigiri. Everything was delicious!!
The ocean roll was fresh and tasty, the pork buns were just delicious, the ramen was so so amazing- the pork was tender, the broth was so flavorful and all the add ins just did wonders for the the flavor and the spicy tuna onigiri was hands down one of the best we’ve had.
The service was also great! The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant was on par and so cute! We cannot wait to come back and are so happy we found our new go to spot 🤗

“Hole in the wall sushi spot. It’s a small and cozy spot in the LES. The size allows you to enjoy the food and chefs on a personal level. I also genuinely have not had fresher fish than here, every piece was mind blowing, the fact that it’s only $68 for 12 pieces! I’m so impressed and I truly can’t recommend it enough. Better than any Michelin I’ve ever had! Also if you love uni like I do, it’s a must.“
