“Have been here twice with my family. Some great variety and flavors to explore here. The simple yet diverse menu made it a perfect experience to try multiple dishes for decent prices for each dish.

Personally, the Chicken Liver Agnolotti is a highlight on the menu. Very rich, creamy liver inside the pasta with a delightful sauce. The portion/pasta size is a bit small, but packs so much flavor, so I definitely recommend it! If you want to share, you might want to get 2, or choose more options in addition.

The Dover Sole was incredible as well! A little pricey, however, the fish was excellently cooked and seasoned, and the citrusy sauce complimented it very well. I appreciated that I received a thick filet portion of fish. As it is only the fish on the menu without sides; the optional sides of Potatoes and Broccoli & Peppers are fairly basic preparation, but add simple starch and veggie pairing with the fish if desired.

What I appreciated during my time there was the attention to detail by the staff. Very considerate and attentive and our waitress was very helpful in offering recommendations and answering questions I had.

The open kitchen makes it a very unique and intimate atmosphere. It is quite dim in there, so it does become harder to navigate the menu if eyesight is an issue. However, I will definitely be back and experience what more there is to offer here!“

“Lords was a 3.5 - 4 star experience through and through. I walked by this place one morning and decided to check it out for dinner. The food is solid, likely nothing you’ll write home about. The menu is creative and there are a lot of options for everyone, which I did appreciate.

Scotch Egg: I started with the scotch egg which was maybe the one item I was looking forward to most and I was slightly disappointed. It’s solid. If you’re curious about it, get it. But I will say I found it dry and while flavorful, fell short in the tzatziki esq sauce that accompanied it. The egg was perfectly cooked though.

Snap pea salad: if you’re looking for a refreshing salad this will do the job. The snap peas were great and so was the sheep’s cheese. The dressing maybe could’ve used some more pizzaz.

Chips: Hot, crispy, a little oily. Mine was very very salty. Overall, enjoyed.

Duck Mince Pie: I wanted to love this. It was solid, but it wasn’t great. The pastry left a little bit to be desired and for $40 you’re just kinda sitting there wondering if it was worth it. The duck was lovely though and the sauce the pie sat it was also very tasty (enjoyed dipping my chips in it).

Apple Rhubarb Crisp: Very good! Once the honey ice cream melts and the flavor comes together, this hits the spot. I appreciated that it wasn’t too sweet.

Vibes: The restaurant is decorated very cute and homey. The large bathroom has maybe the prettiest toilet seat I’ve ever seen + funny framed wall quotes by the sink. However, as other diners have said, the ambient noise level in the restaurant is quite loud, which makes it hard to hear your dinner party at times. I think they would benefit from some noise absorbing decor or better spacing some of the tables.“

“This restaurant blew me away, which I was not expecting. Everything about it was magnificent. Plus top end food and service without any stuffiness. Plus they had a wonderful restaurant week menu on top of a legitimate strawberry shortcake. Will definitely go again and take friends. What a place!“

“A wonderful place with a creative menu. Very unique flavors. Try as many items as you can as each one is special. We went in a group and we were able to share and taste a variety of items. A very casual chic place, you don’t have dress up 😊. They had some original cocktails, adding a twist to the traditional ones. Definitely must visit. Be aware, you will need to make a reservation well in advance. They are popular and hard to get in.“

🌱 Lobster ravioli tastes surprisingly light and refreshing, with a unique presentation that can impress your company.

🌱 Scallop rice is pretty large bowl of rice, but extremely flavorful and umami with the egg yolk and broth mixed together, makes you want to take a one bite after another.

🌱 Golden beets burrata is refreshing, not too special but a good starter to activate your appetite.

🌱 Oyster is so good. It’s not huge oyster, but fresh and seasoned perfectly.

Conclusion: 9/10, on the slightly expensive side, big wine choice, great for dates. Mini space so recommend to make a reservation, will come back again.“

“Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!“

“Highly enjoyed my first time at the happiest hour! Came here for my anniversary on a Monday night. It wasn’t very busy, due to it being a Monday, but food and service were both excellent! Great vibes all around. We both got the happiest meal with the double smash burger and fries, was seriously one of the best burgers I’ve had! They made the night very special for me and my partner. We ended up staying for nearly 4 hours till they closed! Will definitely be back!“

“Though we enjoyed our meal at HAGS, our experience wasn’t quite as sensational as some of the other reviewers.

We found the food a bit underwhelming, especially at this price point. Don’t get me wrong, it was good throughout and sometimes great. The beef entree and the pumpernickel brand, for example, were fantastically done.

But many of the remaining dishes were quite vegetable-forward and some of the flavors didn’t seem to make sense together. There’s nothing wrong with a lot of vegetable dishes, but taken together it felt like the meal was a little bare and missing some substance / finesse.

The service was awesome and the decor of the place is lovely and memorable. Unfortunately, those were the parts of the meal that left the most lasting impression (vs the meal itself). Also love that they include tip with the menu prices - more restaurants ought to do that.

Maybe we aren’t the target demographic, but I think there are better spots in NYC to drop $200 pp.“

“This was delicious. Bread taste like French baguette, pate is amazing, pancake are calling me to come back.

The only down is that it was my husband birthday, & I asked for a candle on our pancake. The waiter which we liked because of his wine knowledge, told me « I got you, will add it on a chocolate tart ». when you hear this, you just think that this small attention will be free, like in every single restaurant in nyc. Unfortunately, when I got the check, I saw I was charged for this. Waiter didn’t wanted to remove it.

We will come back but definitely will ensure this is not for a special day, where you expect such simple attention.

“We went on my birthday for the first time, despite living in this building for ages, and we had such a great time!

The overall service was excellent right from the minute we arrived at the front desk near the lobby. They took us all the way up on a separate elevator to the restaurant where we were greeted at the bar, and the bartender started us off with some excellent cocktails. We were then seated at our table and our captain, AJ did an excellent job guiding us through the menu.

We also had very specific medical food restrictions (which weren’t the easiest to accommodate since the menu was mostly seafood-based), but the restaurant was so good about making these accommodations for us. The attention to detail here, from the chef to all the staff who were very mindful of these restrictions, was truly remarkable.

We decided to do the full tasting menu and it was truly an experience as we dined across from a divine view of the sunset on the river.

I loved every minute of this, and will be coming back here often as well as recommending it to others!“

RICOTTA GNUDI; sauce is flavorful, it’s not found everywhere. Seasonings used in the lamb meatballs did not compliment each other. And yes cheese is a key ingredient in lasagna bianco, however the dish had way too much, I struggled to finish which does not often happen. Cocktails are good though.“

“Holy cow! We just had the Restaurant Week Bento Box lunch from 232 Bleecker and it was just out of this world. Hands down the best meal we've had since the pandemic started. The way Chef Cupps teases the flavor out of vegetables and meats is just astounding. We are in heaven! We also ordered from 232 Bleecker on Christmas Eve, and the food was once again incredible. We are huge fans of Chef Cupps. She previously cooked at UnTitled at the Whitney which was our favorite restaurant in NYC. We are so glad that she and Nick and the rest of her beautiful staff are doing so well.“

I have been going to Quatorze since the early 1990’s when Mark and Peter were on 79th St. I was thrilled when the restaurant recently moved to my corner at 82nd and 1st Ave. and have always enjoyed dining there. NEVER AGAIN. I just had the most awful in-person experience with a manager, Nino who was rude, dismissive and argumentative. And all I wanted to do was make a reservation. Nino is the complete antithesis of the way the staff at Quatorze treat customers. If this is the person who is now the face of this beloved neighborhood gem, then sadly I will not be back. And that’s a shame. I left a message asking to speak to the owner, Mark, but I guess having to speak to an actual loyal customer who is unhappy is beneath him.
