“The chicken is nothing short of incredible—crispy, golden perfection on the outside with meat so juicy and tender, it practically melts in your mouth. The secret is in the double-frying technique, which gives the chicken that irresistible crunch that doesn’t quit.

But the flavors are what really set this spot apart. The soy garlic wings are my personal favorite—sweet, savory, and utterly addictive. If you’re a fan of spice, the hot and spicy option packs a punch without overwhelming your taste buds.

Beyond the chicken, the menu offers a great selection of sides that perfectly complement the main event. The pickled radish adds a refreshing tangy crunch, while the sweet potato fries are the ideal balance of sweet and salty.“

The pork cutlet was phenomenal, it was tender and juicy inside with a perfectly crispy shell. The pork itself wasn’t that flavorful but it came with a creamy sauce that tasted vaguely of bbq. The soup it came with was very light and not overwhelming with a taste of miso soup. Everything was warm and fresh when it arrived. Overall, the experience was very good. Would recommend! :)“

The Burger Steaks were a bit sweet which was unexpected, but yummy. The cold pasta salad was very refreshing, slightly sweet and had a good balance of all the flavors and veggies. I'm not a fan of cold macaroni salad, but this one was so tasty. The fish cake had a nice soy sauce brine. I have never had a fish cake with that depth of flavor in it. The kimchi had a good crunch. All of the foods balanced each other out and I left with a satisfied palate.

The restaurant plays soft music and it felt very much relaxing. Service was very good. They were very kind and had great smiles. They were very sweet. Made me feel welcomed. I'd come back here and try more foods!“

“TLDR: If you're looking for that local hole in the wall - this is a great spot. Stick with the soups and definitely get that spicy pork bulgogi aka jaeyuk bokkeum.

It's tiny and it's a husband/wife team, so if you're trying to be in/out; not the place for that. I've been back twice and I loved it both times.

The dakgaejang (spicy chicken soup) was one of my favorite things. The broth is very flavorful and there's a lot of spice in it. They have some more traditional soups like the black goat or loach. So if you're in a soup and rice mood, this will hit.

Definitely get the jaeyuk bokkeum. The way they slice the pork here and stir-fry it with the larger onion dice - it's very unique and just so good.

NYC needs more places like this. I will return again for sure and try some of the other items on the menu.“

The tteokbokki was also pretty tasty. Usually, if not those options, I also recommend the tofu stew. Many great options to eat here. “This was our fourth time here, The service is acceptable, the food is delicious and the place is pleasant at all times.
I don't give it 5 stars because sometimes it takes a long time, especially for the pasta we ordered "Jampchae".

The wings are fantastic, crispy, tasty and always come with a delicious accompaniment.
The japchae is very delicious, the pasta is just right and the meat is tender, but it works well to eat it together with the wings, they are a perfect complement. Alone it can be a bit harassing.

For drinks, we have tried some very tasty cocktails but if you do not wish to drink alcohol, the Shirley Temple is highly recommended. It is refreshing, sweet and goes well with any meal.

In any case, better to go at night to try the wings and cocktails!“

“I’ve been patronizing this resistance their inception. And it has been solid and consistent. You won’t regret your visit here and your craving for sashimi will be satisfied.

There are other restaurants who can ‘outperform’ Dokdoya with the sashimi’s quality, selection and presentation. But their side dishes are one of the best in the tristate. And their complimentary soups are always superb.“

“Food is fire and the prices are very good. Only thing I have to say is I wish they can go back to the old recipe of the jalapeño mayo because it was so good. Chicken is always crispy and tender. All the sides are fire too u can’t go wrong with any of them.“
