“Oh my goodness, this might be one of my favorite restaurants in the world. To be honest I was never a fan of injera or Ethiopian food but this place has made it a top 3 cuisine for me. The food is truly exceptional. You will wonder how they made the humble chickpea so creamy and flavorful. Get the shiro, seitan tibs and kitfo. Man oh man.Our server was perfect. Just attentive enough, so kind and warm.The ambience!!! I absolutely love the aesthetic. Just makes you feel like you’re having a fun night. They do bring the vibes, as they say. A colorful, vibrant, plant centric aesthetic with gorgeous wall art. The music was popping and made me want to dance. I can’t express more how extraordinary this place is. Wish they would cater for my wedding!“

“A short day and a half stay in Williamsburg/Brooklyn on the way to Berlin. Rolo’s was certainly my most anticipated spot on this tour after seeing their fantastic Eater video and it certainly didn’t disappoint.Their Double Cheeseburger with the $3 Bacon Addition was the most flavorful and wonderfully textured burger I’ve had in years. The pickled pepper made for an interesting off-beat accompaniment. The polenta bread was simple but delicious. A layer of polenta with olive oil and sea salt, could eat that all day.I also ordered a Strawberry Passionfruit Punsch, which was served in a small goblet. Nice blend of rum, strawberry cordial, passion fruit and lime tiki bitters.There are quite a few more dishes I’d like to try at Rolo’s. Unfortunately for me, Rolo’s in in a different time zone. But I’m glad I got a chance to try it.“

The inside is very electric & creatively put together. “My friend and I were exploring Brooklyn and found Cafe Mogador in the neighborhood. So glad we stopped in because the ambiance here was immaculate and the food was so flavorful. We did a walk-in instead of reservation so the wait was a bit long, but we did come in on a Friday night and the restaurant was on the smaller side and was packed. The food wait was also on the longer side, but again, it was a busy Friday night.Hummus/Falafel Platter (5/5):The hummus was on the grainier side, which is my preference because I love the texture. The falafel was beautifully green in the middle, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. This was a well-made staple.Merguez Sausage Rice Plate (5/5):I don't know how they make their sausage, but it was so flavorful with a subtle kick that paired so incredibly well with the cucumber yogurt and rice for the perfect bite. The presentation of the sausage on the rice made me laugh a bit and slightly skeptical but it was simply delicious.Lamb Tangine w/ Charmoulla Green Herbs & Couscous (4/5):The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender, and did not have that strong distinct lamb odor at all. The slight tartness of the charmoulla herb sauce cuts the heaviness of the meat, so I didn't get sick of the giant dish after a few bites of the meat. I took off 1 point because I felt like it didn't pair well with the couscous, but that's just a personal opinion.“

“Fabulous date night at Nami Nori. We both order the signature set which was phenomenal. Every piece was creative, so fresh and better than the last. We shared the tempura misto, wasabi cucumber tataki and the spicy tuna dip. The wasabi cucumber was a great choice and the green that we needed for the meal. Could have passed on the tempura. I loved the spicy tuna dip but my boyfriend said he rather grab more handrolls next time. We also got the mochurros and tbh, it's a pass for us. The WBurg location has a liquor license and the fun cocktails are not to be missed! Im not a fan of lychee martinis and my boyfriend ordered one off the menu and it was probably the best ones I've had. Attentive staff and such a beautiful venue. It's always so hard to get reservations but we saw plenty of open seats on a Saturday around 730/peak dinner, so definitely try walking in.“

The food was phenomenal and since it was our first time there, the staff were very helpful helping us pick items.We ended up getting the whipped ricotta dip, babaganoush, salmon belly skewer, hanger steak, and shaksuhka. “The atmosphere was fine and the plants on the wall were lovely. The monk fish was ok. The burger was good but substitutions are not allowed (I asked about subbing some greens instead of fries). You also can’t choose how your beef is cooked and I was fine with medium. It came well done, unfortunately. I like salty foods and this burger was pretty salty but I didn’t mind. The bacon was the best part of the entree.I’m adding an additional star in my review because they cook their fries in duck tallow which is much healthier and tastier than seed oils. Fries cooked in seed oils (most restaurants) contain trans fats because the frier cools and heats up over and over which causes the oil molecules to degrade down to trans fats. I’m glad more restaurants are starting to switch from canola and soy bean oil to animal fats. Ok, coming off my soap box.“

“Otis, My Man! - Animal House I planned out both dinner and show Friday night for my wife. I have the first reservation at 6pm but in order to make this all work she has to leave work a little early. She says it shouldn't be a problem but all I'm thinking about is their homemade breads. If there's an issue, I may leave late. Woman, set yourself on fire and run out of there! Once inside, this is a beautiful space in Bushwick. Bushwick always makes me laugh. If my grandparents were alive they'd say the rosary for me. Bushwick in the late 70s? As I see the subway across the street, I can see why in 2024 this is a popular neighborhood. Walking inside, there is a long beautiful looking bar that's stocked with some high end booze. I was about to order one of the great Scotch offerings but I see a smoky & spicy Otis signature drink called "Revenge Of The Line" made with Mezcal, Charred Pineapple and Habañero. Ah-mazing. The Otis Menu isn't broken down into starters and mains. The Otis team lists everything, figure it out and order. My wife & I made this work. Starting with the Burrata and the Roasted Beets. The Burrata was on top of this Sweet Potato and Tomato Jam. Once the burrata was cut open, delish! We slathered the cheese on the charred focaccia, soo good! The roasted beets with Ruby Frost Apples were another solid dish. What made it next level was the Crispy Quinoa and Candied Pecan bits. Highly recommended. Next, Lamb Meatballs and Braised Pork Pasta. We're sitting at the chef's table and watching these guys cook is crazy. They have 5 pans going at once and they are hustling to get food out. I see them take the Lamb Meatballs and put them on the grill to get that charred goodness. When they're finished the Lamb Meatballs are plated over a Tomatillo Tahini. This is a phenomenal dish, and the definition of phenomenal: very remarkable, extraordinary. Finally, the Braised Pork Pasta. This was something I never had before, it says miso but the underlying flavor tasted more like cinnamon. House made Gigli Pasta with Pork Shoulder which was cooked low and slow, fork tender soft and loaded with flavor. This dish was topped with House-Made Ricotta. Best described as a little heat with sliky tomato sauce, the Braised Pork Pasta is the best dish on the Otis menu. The desserts looked amazing but we were so packed I had to say No Mas. I am so glad we dined at Otis, I highly recommend Otis for Cocktails and Dinner.“

The staff were pleasant and timely. Willing to accommodate questions on the menu and make great suggestions. The location is an offbeat spot but stays true to their cuisine, very earthy and good vibe for two or a group of 5. Our meal consisted of freshly cut coconut water, mufongo, Cassava Pone w/Soursop Ice cream, and more!“

“While the restaurant has closed they are operating as a food truck. Please check their Instagram to see their daily location. Lately they have been in bed stuy.This review is for my visit over the summer. We went on a Sunday and received the following: seafood mac n cheese; hot honey oxtail sliders; blueberry cornbread and the Cater 2 U which has salmon, shrimp and crab cakes. No complaints on the food, the portion size or the customer service. Everyone is always nice. I've only met the male owner during my visits and he is the best! Sad to see the restaurant go but happy to see that they are still making food. Definitely check them out when you can.“

“I saw this place on instagram and added it to my bucket list. My husband and I traveled from Atlanta just to try The Monkey King. The atmosphere is comfortable and laid back. Our waiter was accommodating and made us feel like we were seating in VIP. We met the owner Mike. He was professional and was grateful for us traveling to Brooklyn New York to try his restaurant. The taste from each dish blew us away from the concocted herbs and spices. We will definitely return.“
