“I can’t rave enough about my experience at Ras. I had great service and probably the best meal during my visit to NYC. I came for lunch on a weekday and the whole menu, including brunch, was available. Since they are 100% vegan, it also meant that I could order anything and everything. Can there be too many choices? Everything looked great, but my waiter convinced me to get the chef’s special kitfo. There was also a nice selection of NA mixed drinks, and I ordered the Crown Heights queen—watermelon, ginger beer, mint and lime. I loved every sip and every bite of my meal. The chef’s special was packed with flavor and different textures. Each bite felt unique from the last. Kitfo is typically a ground beef, and their version is made from soy. That alone had such incredible flavor like it had been nicely browned to build out the complexity of the dish. The drink was equally good. “Very impressed since they was decorating the place. I was passing by every day till they finally open and I desire to try the food, I was curious and also I’m not a vegan person. When I finally try that food I just got in shock. Super tasty, delicious, the Trinidad and Dominican Republic flavors- was so down the earth. So thankful to have them at the neighborhood, the service is excellent and Yesenia and her employees super professionals. The ambiance and decoration soo relaxing- I love the food and the service, how they welcome you, is hard to find a place like that. “I make a habit to go to Seitan’s Helper every time I’m in New York for work. I get 4 sandwiches , to also have with me for traveling back on the train.
As a vegetarian , getting a good sandwich is hard … but these 2 take sandwiches to a new level and make them above and beyond.

“Recently went and although the food and waiter staff were great, we were expecting what we seen on here. There was no performances. An empty space. Apparently there's a 2 hr gap between brunch and dinner. The booking site allowed for a 4pm reservation. When we arrived we were accommodated but looked at funny. We found out that brunch had ended at 3pm. I was really hoping for the full experience I seen here and paid alot and didn't get it.“

“This was our second time going there. Our daughter goes to Pratt and it's walking distance from the school. It's a small diner but friendly staff. On one of the coldest days of winter the host made sure people were not waiting long for tables as best as she could. The food was good and service was really good. I'm glad my daughter has a place like this close to her dorm.“

“The food here was excellent. I got the Pad Thai and it was one of the best I've ever had. Their appetizers are all very good. I'd highly recommend going here on a date or family dinner. Menu is a little pricy but worth it.“

“This Thai restaurant in Brooklyn is absolutely amazing. Every dish tasted authentic and full of flavor. I really loved the decoration and overall atmosphere, and the outdoor garden at the entrance is perfect for photos.

I highly recommend the Mook Kung Curry — it’s so flavorful and goes perfectly with rice. The Thai Style Pork Over Rice was also one of my favorites. The pork belly was fried crispy and delicious. Their cocktails were great too, and very beautiful.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and come back again!“

“Always a fantastic experience at both locations and last night was no different! Staff is always attentive, friendly, and efficient while still creating a cool and relaxing atmosphere. Food is always insane and there’s basically no bad dishes on the menu, although the Moroccan Fish Tagine, and Greek salad with chicken are my favorites. Special shoutout to Eric for the great service and for recommending the labne cheesecake.“

“My husband and I made the long drive yesterday (2 1/2 hrs each way) from upstate NY to visit our daughter in NYC just for the day. While strolling around her neighborhood we came upon your lovely bakery and cafe and after eyeing the beautiful carrot cake in the window, we had to go in. Carrot cake is my favorite sweet treat. There were so many beautiful choices, but we got 2 slices of carrot cake to take back home with us. After the long drive back home we were really looking forward to a piece of cake and a cup of coffee. I opened one of the beautifully packed boxes, which revealed an enormous slice of yumminess!! The slice was big enough for at least 3 people. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Everything about this cake was phenomenal. The frosting was outstanding, the cake was so flavorful and moist. It was the best we’ve ever had. We have enough left for a few days. I’m so glad we stopped in. It was a great way to end our lovely day in the city and will most certainly go back on our next trek in . I will also have to get our daughter pick up some baked goods when she’s coming home for a visit. I highly recommend Crumbly Cafe & Bakery😊😊“

We've been staying in the Franklin Guesthouse (hotel adjacent to Madre) for a couple of nights and decided to give Madre a shot - boy were we in for a treat! Firstly, shout out to Armando, who made us feel immediately welcomed with his warmth and energy! For food, we got the Frutti di Mare, Croquetas, Brussels Sprouts, Cornbread Madeleines (compliments from chef) and Chicken - massive MASSIVE props to Chef Bryan and his very talented team. To say that they cooked "well" would be the understatement of 2022. They absolutely blew our minds with top quality medley of ingredients, depth of flavor, and masterful execution in every way. Cocktails were fun and delectable, which added the perfect "pop" to the culinary rocket ship that Madre served up. Just when my wife and I were ready to call it a night, Chef Bryan and Armando were kind enough to bring out the Pot de Creme for us, which was the bow and ribbon on this very special dinner. My only regret of the night was not having enough stomachs to enjoy more of what Madre could serve up. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Madre!“

“Confused by previous reviews that state no one eats here anymore, as sitting here at lunchtime on a recent weekday showed a flurry of both delivery orders and dine-in customers. The menu is for sure pan-Asian/reflective of American-Chinese dishes, but also serves some specifically Chinese dishes, such as a few dim sum favorites that are harder to find unless you're at a Cantonese restaurant. Lunch special is a great deal with sizeable portions. Love that they keep the fridge stocked with desserts (believe some of them are from Vegan Treats?) and often have additional off-menu homemade items for sale at the counter or in the fridge, including ones related to Chinese cultural holidays. Always glad to support this small family-run business and have personally found their food to be consistent for the wide range of what they're cranking out of their kitchen!
