“I love this place for lunch. Something hardy, healthy and fulling. I'm not a vegan but this place is one that I've returned to many times. The ginger chicken is my absolutely favorite 😍. I usually get a small meal which comes with 2 sides and a protein. Ginger chicken, mac and cheese and kale 😋.“

“This place will have your brain going insane as you won't know what to choose. Your going to want to try it ALL. As for me, I'm Trinidadian...so I already have tried it all. The food is all amazing. Everything from the curry chicken and stew pork with roti or Trinidadian fried rice. My favorite to get is the macaroni pie and doubles. The macaroni pie is only $2 per piece which is definitely a steal at that price. The doubles are also $2. The stew pork with fried rice was $14. I always get stew gravy poured on the macaroni pie which makes it so much more tasty. Some days after I finish my work day, I would stop in just to get 2 pieces of macaroni pie and 2 doubles before going home. I also love peanut punch so I always get one also.“

I’ve had 450 happy people who couldn’t stop talking about how great the food was, I must say I’m very happy to choose Tropical Isles to catered my wedding, from the 7 curry to the delicious sweets, one family member who describe it as a slam dunk, grand slam. I was very impressed with all the food prepared and served at the wedding venue in New Jersey, tropical isle went above and beyond to take the stress away from us and give us the time to celebrate our wedding with our guests. “5 stars are not enough to tell you how good this place is. We've been staying in the Franklin Guesthouse (hotel adjacent to Madre) for a couple of nights and decided to give Madre a shot - boy were we in for a treat! Firstly, shout out to Armando, who made us feel immediately welcomed with his warmth and energy! For food, we got the Frutti di Mare, Croquetas, Brussels Sprouts, Cornbread Madeleines (compliments from chef) and Chicken - massive MASSIVE props to Chef Bryan and his very talented team. To say that they cooked "well" would be the understatement of 2022. They absolutely blew our minds with top quality medley of ingredients, depth of flavor, and masterful execution in every way. Cocktails were fun and delectable, which added the perfect "pop" to the culinary rocket ship that Madre served up. Just when my wife and I were ready to call it a night, Chef Bryan and Armando were kind enough to bring out the Pot de Creme for us, which was the bow and ribbon on this very special dinner. My only regret of the night was not having enough stomachs to enjoy more of what Madre could serve up. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Madre!“

Exactly what you expect when you picture a diner. No frills, cheap, and exceptionally average food. It gets the job done, with the kind of gritty atmosphere you’d expect from a place that’s been serving neighborhood regulars for years.

I had the cheeseburger, while the person next to me was chowing down on chicken parm and spaghetti. The cheeseburger tasted like it came straight out of the freezer. It reminded me of the kind I used to get at the bowling alley as a kid.

10/10 recommend. Will return.“

“A calm and pleasant spot for lunch.

I came during the afternoon and the place was quiet.
The staff was very friendly and even asked how the meal was at the end.
Note: It’s self-service.

Food: The hand-pulled noodles and broth were fresh and excellent.
The fried side dish was crispy and flavorful.
Drink: The iced black tea with mango was light and very refreshing.
Tip: As you can see in the video - the portions are very generous.
I recommend ordering a small size because I couldn’t finish it.

Seating: I sat by the window facing the street. It was nice to eat and watch Broadway at the same time.
There’s also an inner bar table closer to the kitchen.
The place is clean and the surrounding area feels calm and safe.

Price: Very affordable and filling.
This was my first time trying authentic Chinese food and I was pleasantly surprised.
Highly recommend and worth saving for a real local meal.“

It doesn't have fancy decor, nor does it serve mind-blowing dishes with flavors you can't find anywhere else.
However, their food is very wholesome and down-to-earth, without the heavy oils or excessive salt used to aggressively hook a customer's palate.
The prices are also very affordable—I imagine people working nearby frequent this place often.
I'm a delivery truck driver, and whenever I pass through this area, I make sure to stop by.
The elderly owner is Taiwanese and extremely kind, and they also employ some Spanish staff. The overall work atmosphere is wonderful, and I'm certain the owner treats them very well. Dining here gives you a sense of peace that you just can't find anywhere else.
You shouldn't go out of your way just to eat here, but if you happen to be passing by, you definitely have to drop in and check it out.“
