“This place changed my life. I first moved to the neighborhood in 2022, I was scared, young, nervous, but ready for the big city. Thankfully The Handpulled Noodle was there to give me the vitamins and minerals I needed to work without end for my dear landlord. The Handpulled Noodle was there for me when nobody was. When you’re looking for insanely good noodles to eat, look no further. P.S. try the mango tea.“

“I was introduced to The Handpulled Noodle by my daughter when she lived near their Hamilton Heights location. She moved to West Harlem and I was happy to find this location just a few blocks away. The food is consistently good. The portions are generous. The service has always been excellent. In a city filled with good places to eat, this will always be on my list of stops when I visit.“

“We came in a party of five - two adults and three kids. We ordered one tsukemen, two ramen (deluxe and miso), one kid’s meal, and one fried chicken (karaage with Korean spicy sauce). All were delicious and filling. Anime is playing from a projector on the wall, which kept my boys occupied and quiet 😉. Staff were polite to us and the kids. Worst food we ever had in our lives!! Bland and expensive. It came with none of the toppings we ordered!! Tasteless and dry. I suspect the food was kept in the heat for most of the day. “I always get the galbi tang when I come here. They use actual beef ribs and it’s absolutely delicious. The mandoo and dumplings are all great steamed or fried. Every dish I’ve had here from the noodles, meat, appetizers have all been delicious.“

“Amazing food! My husband and I stopped by for Friday night dinner. We tried the fried calamari, Pad Kana Moo Grob (Sautéed crispy pork belly with chinese broccoli in garlic sauce.), Pork Chops Vegetable Garlic Sauce, crab fried rice and for dessert, the mango coconut sticky rice. “I found this restaurant randomly while running errands, I've lived in the Bronx for 8 years now and this is by far the best pad thai I've had in all of New York. The pad thai was so flavorful and I got the beef with it. I also ordered a passion fruit iced tea and it was the perfect refreshment in this 100 degree weather. I've been seeing the mango sticky rice on TikTok recently and I was happy to see on the menu they also had Mango with sticky rice, which was packed with flavors as well. Will definitely be ordering from here more frequently.“

“Ordered take out. Was looking for a great tasting sesame chicken made with white meat. Saw the reviews online and took a chance because so far the Asian restaurants I’ve been to do not make DELICIOUS sesame chicken. This place did not let me down. The sesame chicken was so delicious! I was so happy! This is, now, my go to place for sesame chicken. I didn’t like the dumplings. They were very doughy and chewy. No good. Next time I’ll order the Gyoza. Maybe that’s not doughy. I’ll try the fried rice too and see how that goes. But for sure I’ll be coming back!“

Spicy Chicken Yakisoba Noodles

These stir fried noodles were served with a variety of vegetables and the protein of my choice. I wanted a kick, so I chose spicy chicken for a small up charge. The entree was garnished with sesame seeds. This was a scrumptious plate and I was beyond satisfied.

The portion size was very generous and it is definitely intended for a group of 2.

I decided to explore this location on a whim and I’m glad I did. I’m truly looking forward to return to explore the other dishes, especially anything from the Teriyaki section.

“Star Sushi was a really pleasant surprise. From the moment we sat down, the place felt welcoming and comfortable, and the staff had that good mix of being friendly without hovering. The whole experience had a calm, easy pace, which made it enjoyable right from the start.

The sushi itself was excellent. Everything looked fresh and put together with care, and the flavors were well-balanced instead of feeling heavy or overly seasoned. Each bite had that clean, satisfying taste you want from sushi—nothing felt bland, and nothing tasted like it had been sitting around too long. The rolls were solid and filling, with nice textures and a good mix of ingredients.

What also stood out was how smooth the service was. The timing was right, the order came out neatly, and it felt like they actually pay attention to the details. Even though it was busy, it didn’t feel chaotic.

Overall, Star Sushi is a great go-to for anyone craving well-made sushi with a nice atmosphere and genuinely helpful service. It’s the kind of spot you leave thinking, “We should come back here again soon.”“

Went there recently for a Meal Pal pickup. The young woman at the counter was friendly and helpful, despite being alone and harried. But with only two people making sandwiches at the small prep counter behind it took way too long for me and others to get our food. Place needs to expand or rejigger its food prep area and hire more workers. I don’t the loud “R&B” helped the mood, either.“
