50 Best Pizza Restaurants in Dayton

“Originally from Buffalo NY, found it very difficult to find a pizza that even comes close to what I was used to. I've tried many pizzas across the Miami Valley and all I can say is that most were pretty bad, and a few ok but not much more. 2 places were halfway decent but those places went downhill. I finally tried Joe's Pizza last month and have to say, the Absolute Best in Miami Valley. It was the closest to Buffalo Style Pizza I ever had in Southwest Ohio. Told their Staff the same. I will definitely be going back there despite being a little drive from where I live. I would recommend Joe's Pizza to everyone, especially if you're looking for a quality pizza!!“

“Ok so we’ve dined at Old Scratch Troy location about 6 times since it’s opened. Waited a bit to give them time to really get in their groove. While I do recommend the place. Pizza is good, staff is nice (especially Amanda at the bar) and shareables are tasty. That said I would like to see the food’s taste be a little more consistent. My favorite dish is the fire roasted cauliflower but sadly it hasn’t been prepared the same way twice with the last two times it was barely seasoned at all once it was almost raw. Hopefully as training continues they will fix that issue.“

My only complaints were the lamb was overcooked, but still juicy, and the kids running all over the place (and the boy that was hitting his brother with a belt, not hard, but still annoying).“

In my nearly 27 years of driving, this was only my third or fourth delivery to a retail location instead of a distribution location.

I had an early delivery, and was told I could park over night. I'm glad I did, because arriving to the loading dock is a little awkward with a 53 foot trailer. Leaving was a breeze however.

I was unloaded 90 minutes before my appointment time, avoiding the morning rush hour, always a good thing.

Since I wasn't a customer, I can't answer questions about food quality, but the posted menu items and descriptions looked interesting. I wish they had been earlier, because based on reviews and pictures, I would have definitely ordered something.

Based on my interactions with the two that unloaded my trailer, and assuming the inside staff were just as friendly and professional, I'd recommend this place for a date night.“

“I've lived in the Dayton area for 34 years and never tried gioninos until last week. I've since ordered it 3 times and have been extremely happy with all 3 purchases. This is the best pizza I've found in Dayton. The option to add basil is a game changer. Anything with red sauce should have basil on it, period. No other pizzeria that I know of offers it. “I LOVE this place. My mom has been coming here since she was a kid. Every time I’m in town now we always make sure to get it to take home w us. They have a patent on their pizza so you knowww it’s good. The staff is always super sweet and the place is always clean. The way it looks is beautiful too! Super cold school.“

“I was born and raised in Italy, I was also a waitress there and served many pizzas. Troni is by far the closest to authentic Italian pizzas in the entire area. Absolutely delicious and well priced. Our family has always enjoyed it as well as the service.“

The Drunken Shrimp is my favorite pasta dish that has a nice kick and tons of flavor. The Linguine Bolognese is so good, the Shrimp Scampi is light and tasty, and even the classic Spaghetti and Meatballs is good. I have not personally had the pizza but my mom raves about it. She customizes her pizza each time or orders the special and has never been disappointed with what she gets. She also recommends the espresso martinis. Great food, lovely place, great service and a must try for the area. I promise you won't be disappointed and order the choclate mousse for dessert.“

“Dayton seriously lacks in the pizza department, but Mikey's could be just the thing to turn it around. The interior is super snazzy. Swings indoors!? Just don't be stupid about it! They have an appetizing display of their current slice selections, which really helps to narrow it down. Both slices I had today were delicious: flavorful, crisp, cheesy, with a lovely garnish of delectable dipping sauces. So much better than those sad square-cut pies Ohio seems to love. The bar is loaded with beer and liquor so you can accompany your bites with a bit of brew. I love pizza more than I love my kids. I'll be coming back, over and over and over.“

“Small pizza place, and venue. The menu is vast, and the portions are large. Certainly a great value ratio. Beers are cold, with a great draft selection. The liquor side isn't giant, so if your particular about sports, you may not get exactly what you're looking for, but they have the basics. Servers are top notch, and let's not forget about the patio!“
