50 Best Pizza Restaurants in Dayton

“Originally from Buffalo NY, found it very difficult to find a pizza that even comes close to what I was used to. I've tried many pizzas across the Miami Valley and all I can say is that most were pretty bad, and a few ok but not much more. 2 places were halfway decent but those places went downhill. I finally tried Joe's Pizza last month and have to say, the Absolute Best in Miami Valley. It was the closest to Buffalo Style Pizza I ever had in Southwest Ohio. Told their Staff the same. I will definitely be going back there despite being a little drive from where I live. I would recommend Joe's Pizza to everyone, especially if you're looking for a quality pizza!!“

“Ok so we’ve dined at Old Scratch Troy location about 6 times since it’s opened. Waited a bit to give them time to really get in their groove. While I do recommend the place. Pizza is good, staff is nice (especially Amanda at the bar) and shareables are tasty. That said I would like to see the food’s taste be a little more consistent. My favorite dish is the fire roasted cauliflower but sadly it hasn’t been prepared the same way twice with the last two times it was barely seasoned at all once it was almost raw. Hopefully as training continues they will fix that issue.“

My only complaints were the lamb was overcooked, but still juicy, and the kids running all over the place (and the boy that was hitting his brother with a belt, not hard, but still annoying).“

“We had not been at OE for over a year. Only 9 people in the bar on a Friday night at 7:00pm….no band. Good service, as always. A large Chicken Ranchero pizza was $22.00, and it was only so-so. I don’t know what is happening in the Oregon District.“

“We frequent this location and really enjoy the pizza. My wife’s family has been eating Marion’s for decades! Service is always great, the employees are always smiling and nice. The pizza is always what we love, crispy crust and perfect amount of cheese and pepperoni.
I made a decision yesterday to add a steak sub to our order, big mistake. While Marion’s always hits the mark on pizza, the steak sub was, well, just not good. The “steak” is a perfectly rectangular piece of rubbery meat and nothing like steak you’d expect in a steak sub. Do yourself a favor and stick to the pizza and avoid the “steak” sub. Lesson learned.“

“Ok, first off I absolutely love this pizza. Dayton style is rather unique, very thin, almost cracker like crust. Cut into very small squares, just love it.
The sausage they use in the pizza is just incredibly flavorful and makes me want to come back.

My one complaint with this place, and I register it every time I eat here is having to pay for my pizza, then go get in another line and pay for my drink. I assume because they sell alcohol they can’t let the youngsters run that counter.

Seriously Marion’s, move into the 1970’s. This is just ridiculous in 2026.

I would honestly double my visits if it wasn’t for that stupid setup.

“I've always liked Papa Johns pizza but there's never been one close enough to deliver or one that I really wanted to take the time to drive to. But since they've opened one on Gettysburg. I've been to this establishment several times. Pizza is always fresh whether I order in the evening or late at night. The employees I've interacted with are always polite and chill whether its a simple greeting or if I need help fixing an issue. The manager Kristen is very polite had an issue with something missing in my order and she took the time to listen and help resolve it.“

“I’ve always enjoyed this restaurant but I noticed something last night that disturbed me. I asked the waitress if they had a smaller serving of their Peasant salad. She said sure and brought a very small serving which was just what I ordered. When I got the bill the charge was $9 which is the regular full size price. Same thing happened with our dining partner. This has happened before. I hope the owner reads this. It’s a little deceptive.“

“Fast and good pizza. It's thin crust, no edge crust, sliced into bite size pieces. Selection of drinks in the cooler and also at the serving bar. Also offers gummi bears, chocolates, dinner salads and sandwiches. Dine-in in their expansive multisection dining room and look through the dozens of celebrity diner pictures from the '60s through '90s. Take out available.“

“Visited DK Effect for the first time and then walked over to try Gionino’s for the first time. The pizza wad better than anything else I’ve had in Dayton. So much so that I left a review and I don’t do that like ever. Crust was perfect. Sauce ratio was ecstatic. Pepperoni was absolutely perfect. A personal pizza too! Def earned a lifelong fan now.

“I was born and raised in Italy, I was also a waitress there and served many pizzas. Troni is by far the closest to authentic Italian pizzas in the entire area. Absolutely delicious and well priced. Our family has always enjoyed it as well as the service.“

“New update: previously rated 5/5, but last two times I’ve ordered my pizza with EXTRA SAUCE, the pizzas arrived with hardly ANY sauce. I paid for extra sauce and that’s how I like them. Until I start noticing a closer attention to those details, my rating will remain.

Seriously consistently great pizza! Won’t find many pizza places this good anytime. I have never had a bad experience with them and have ordered over the past 11 years! Always fresh and hot. “Fazoli's has long been a favorite of our family's. We don't stop in often because its all carbs but we do still come occasionally. I was surprised that Noone came around to renew the breads sticks as in the past. Maybe they don't do that anymore. It was still delicious. I think they should reconfigure their dining room for larger groups.“

“Ordered from north main store for delivery to Kettering health Dayton and the driver called to see where to deliver it when I put those directions online when I order and they always take it to the wrong entrance so I said it 3 times he got very rude and hung up on me. I love the pizza very good but don’t do delivery from that location they are rude to their customers will never order from there again due to the employees not the food.“

Make sure to order extra sauce on your pie, it enhances the experience tenfold. I felt as if I was in Italy being served by Mario himself. 5 stars.“
