“We had the chefs choice menu with the mixed liquor pairing. We’ve had many tasting menus before. Most of them have been in Toronto and New York. Our experience at MIMI had to have been one of the best value tasting menus we’ve ever had and it was very interesting to drink shaoxing wine . Had such a fun time.“

“My friends and I were in town for a guys weekend, and we wanted a really nice dinner to kick it off. This place hit the spot in all aspects, the food was amazing, the service was even better, and the vibe was just what we were looking for. I will definitely be back, when visiting Toronto, and will recommend to anyone visiting the city.“

“I came here for the second time with my partner during the dinner rush. Completely blew our expectations away!
We remember our first time eating here, with the food being decent but nothing crazy and the service was okay. However upon our second time visiting, our server, Bill Xu, was not only kind but went above and beyond to show us genuine hospitality. He was extremely patient with any questions we had and checked in with us often.
The food was delicious with the marbled beef being my favorite item that night. There are a variety of items you can choose from with the selection being quite large. Both sweet and savoury items were quite tasty so you can't really go wrong.
Lastly, I take the cleanliness of washrooms very seriously. I have to say that I was very impressed upon walking into the washroom. Not only was the design of the washroom itself modern and elegant, but it was very apparent that the staff does check their washrooms. It was pretty clean and there were several free amenities offered (toothpicks, floss, mouthwash). Overall, I was speechless to discover a really good washroom experience in a city full of awful and disgusting washrooms.
While the bill can be expensive by the end, the service and quality of the food was top-notch. Overall, this was a great experience and we will definitely be coming again.“

“Great dinner at Mandarin Yonge to celebrate Mid Autumn Festival. This visit we tried a few new items fro the Small Eats. The teriyaki salmon, teriyaki meatballs and tofu were delicious. Salmon was cooked to perfection. As always Paddy and our server Amy made our evening extra special. Looking forward to our next visit.“

“We have ordered for years but unfortunately I am never able to order on line. I have repeatedly tried but once I get to submit my order it will not allow. I live very close to the Parliament Street outlet. I have accumulated loyalty points but ever since they moved to Calibre I have not been able to order on line. Please, can someone let me know how to fix this clich. When I phone to place my order the staff say they will take my concern to the owner but nothing ever happens. I am very frustrated!!“

“Stopped in after Cask Days at Bar Volo on St. Nicholas and we were just looking for anything fun in the neighbourhood. A week later, I'm still thinking about two menu items: The coriander in bean curd roll skewer and soy sauced beef with cucumber and peanut.
It's so good that I'm thinking about how to reverse engineer the latter one for home.
Go. You won't regret it.“

“Food/sauce is very flavorful, atmosphere is great and you can watch him making the noodles. What’s not to like?? Oh yeah and the cat robot that delivered our appetizers was awesome! We’re here at noon on a Monday and I can’t believe this place isn’t packed; with this delicious food it should be. We’re on vacation but I wish they had one in Charleston! Two thumbs way up!!“

“The food was absolutely delicious. My stepfather ordered some spicy noodles, despite the waitress subtly asking if he was sure he could handle it (in much nicer words, of course). The noodles were indeed very spicy but so flavourful. The portion sizes were huge! If you can normally handle a medium, a small might even be too much to handle.
Service was excellent, the food came quickly and our orders were taken quickly as well, but we didn’t feel rushed at all. The only “negative” thing, and negative is too harsh a word, is that the restaurant itself was very small. It was a very quaint place. But everything else more than makes up for the size of the place.“

“1st experience at A Szechuan Restaurant.
Warmly greeted, seated, I asked for recommendations, 2 were suggested.
We enjoy hot,spicy foods.
1 beef stir fry
1 tripe stir fry.
Both recommendations were excellent choices.
They were brought in a timely manner.
Both were well presented, plentiful, and delicious.
Service was very good, background music was delightful.
On our next visit to Downtown Toronto, we will definitely consider going there for a dinner again“

“Over the Christmas season we visited this little gem-hole in the wall walking (and snacking) from Downtown through Chinatown on the way to Kensington Market and Little Italy. A walk I highly suggest for those seeking food and shop options away from the core. It is just east of Chinatown amongst other Asian establishments and we ventured in funny enough based on positive Google reviews-the reviews are accurate. EXCELLENT value is an understatement, a neighboring table helped us choose from a somewhat complicated ordering process and we also viewed food coming out to help with our selections. We had the pies and dumplings but I encourage you to try a little of everything with these prices! This is a must return for me next time I am in this part of TO.“

“This place has some great deals like buy one, get one free on barbecues. We got the lamb skewers, which were very juicy and flavorful. We went during a quiet time, so service was quick.
We also ordered the chicken stir-fry. It comes with your choice of protein (I think they offer lamb, chicken, maybe shrimp). The noodles were made fresh right in front of us, which was fun to watch. The kitchen is open and looked very clean.
I’ve been here a couple of years ago, and the service and taste are still just as good. Definitely recommend trying the barbecue skewers!“

“Went there for Friday lunch. They have a lunch set with 1 main & 2 side dishes. Had Siu mai ($2 extra) & mango salad as side dishes, beef Hor fun as main. Everything was good. Siu mai takes 15 min = since everything is served together, you have to wait for everything to be ready to get your food.
Parking: Parking is directly on Bayview.“

“Szechuan Noodle Bowl is a hidden gem for lovers of authentic Chinese cuisine. The restaurant may not be flashy, but it makes up for it with its flavorful dishes and generous portions. The menu is full of traditional Szechuan offerings, with a focus on bold flavors and spices. The hand-pulled noodles are a standout, offering a perfect texture and rich taste. The Dan Dan noodles and spicy beef noodle soup are customer favorites, delivering the perfect balance of heat and savory broth. The service is friendly and efficient, making it an ideal spot for both quick meals and leisurely dining. If you enjoy authentic, no-frills Chinese food with a kick, Szechuan Noodle Bowl is definitely worth a visit.“

“First time checking out the east side Chinatown. This place was really busy, people were constantly coming in and out. The bbq was pretty good. It's not fatty or salty. The roasted pork was just ok but the fried noodles from the lobster dish was pretty good. It stayed crispy for a long time, I enjoyed it more than the lobster. The special fried rice was our least favorite. It didn't have much flavor and lacking that wok hay. Overall, not too bad and reasonably price.“

“Went in at 10pm when they were almost closing, so I was the last customer to be served. The noodles were chewy and absorbed all the delicious flavour from the savoury broth. Ingredients still tasted very fresh and complimented each other well. The individual booths make a cozy and chill atmosphere.
The server was in rush and forgot to bring me water, so they compensated by giving me a free coke when my meal was done. I appreciate the good customer service! I’ll come back again in the winter for a warm bowl of noodle soup.“

“I have watched this restaurant grow and change since its opening. You can really see the passion that the owner is putting into this business. In the last year I have seen many improvements, refinements, and new offerings that have impressed me. It would not surprise me if this becomes a popular franchise in the future. As someone who has been ordering food since the grand opening I am proud to be a regular here and look forward to the future of So Famous. I miss the wonton soup but your new offerings have blown me out of the water. This is Chinese takeaway refined and perfected. Please try any of their menu offerings and I am sure you will be impressed with not just the food but the service and atmosphere as well. Thank you for creating such an amazing restaurant.“

“This is my 3rd time dining in this beef hotpot restaurant. I also take my friends and colleagues here, and they all like the food. The beef is extremely fresh and the price is quite reasonable. I recommend the rib eye/sirloin and chunk slices. Their beef fried rice is always mouth-watering. 2-3 people is the ideal group size for this restaurant. I highly recommend it.“

“5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My boyfriend clearly has a talent for picking great restaurants — this meal was proof!
I haven’t had crispy sweet corn (玉米烙) in ages, and it was so satisfying. The wheat gluten stuffed with meat (面筋塞肉) was rich and flavorful, and the braised ribs were incredibly tender. Of course, the xiao long bao were juicy and delicate, just the way they should be.
Every dish felt comforting and well-executed — will definitely be coming back for more.“

“Food was good- very well packed for takeout. BEWARE- there are 3 noodle me locations- each with the items numbered differently on their menu !! (Why??) the Toronto location is inexplicably called just “downtown “- well, the Hamilton location is also “downtown “. Leads to unnecessary confusion and incorrect orders. Make sure you are ordering the menu called “Hamilon “ or you will not get the correct order! ( ask me how I know…..)“

“Small family run restaurant. Specializing in dumplings, with frozen dumplings available as well. Food was excellent, best Xiao Long Bao I've had in GTA. Majority of dumpling options are steamed. Wontons in chili oil (+ Tahini) was also very enjoyable. Agree with another reviewer, the chili oil is not hot. People running the place were very welcoming and nice (very little/no English), and it felt like old school family restaurant with someone's little grandaughter hanging out on a Sunday evening :) Very much enjoyed eating here, will happily visit again. Not a huge menu (big enough) but we enjoyed everything we ordered (too much, so good!). Only a couple small tables, am guessing most of their business is takeout.“

“This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants for Chinatown, the experience is well worth it and their cooking is delightful. I love their seafood dishes and particularly their General Tao chicken, which is just the right amount of crunch that I perfer, whereas other locations I find they don't make it as good as this place does,.Their sauce for even their lemon chicken, and black bean for oyster and mussels is fantastic . Be mindful though that if you do not eat pork to ask the server if they include it in the dish like fir example their shrimp.and lobster sauce has pork in it, because often their dishes blend pork into it even though it doesn't say so on the menu, I don't know if they changed this on the menu.but at the time this was necessary Information due to being reactive to pork and had to often request it not included in the Ingredients.“

“A bowl of rice noodles and a plate of grilled skewers, two highlights:
1) Satisfied with meat noodles. A spoonful of noodles with a piece of meat left in the end is better than eating dry noodles with the meat gone first.
2) The spiciness is appropriate, not some weird spiciness that makes you feel uncomfortable after eating, but the kind that feels more natural after eating.
Worthy of praise“

“I always got my lunch here when I used to work at the PATH and I miss it a lot. They always have a long line during lunch hours so be prepared for it and that’s how you know you are getting authentic Cantonese cuisine here.
I always get the spicy beef noodle and I also recommend getting the wonton because their wontons are big and stuffed with ingredients!“

“The restaurant is hidden near Exile thrift shop, in case anyone gets as lost as I did! It was worth the confusion though! The cute retro diner style was a pleasant surprise and, though a bit dark for my liking, was very comfortable. The food did take a fair amount of time to start arriving, but the restaurant was just opening, so I won't take that as a given when I return in the future. My friend had brought me and she suggesting ordering three dishes between the two of us and us eaxh getting a portion of rice. She was right as that left us nicely full and able to share. One negative that I have is that, with tips and ordering no drinks, for two people it was ~$100. It is a fun experience, but not one that I could make a regular indulgence. This is very much a special occaisions place.“
