“Today my daughter and I enjoyed the most delicious lunch at One 13 Social in downtown Carlisle. Small plates are elegant and perfect for lunch. Mine was Spoonbread Shrimp, extraordinarily creative flavors : salty olive tapanade, savory grilled shrimp, and sweet cornbread with honey butter. New to their terrific menu, hope it stays!! I tip my hat to the chef.”

“My high school class had a 50th year reunion event in September at Fiddlers and they did a fantastic job!! We were to be in the pavilion; however, rainy weather forced us indoors. Jennifer, the restaurant manager, went above and beyond to accommodate our large group in one of the banquet rooms and ensured that we were provided the best service possible. The food was awesome and the servers were superb!! Everyone had a great time!! Thank you for all you did to make our reunion a success!! We will be back!!”

“This place could be so much better if they would get new chairs (they’re all coming apart and wobbly) - the staff is not that friendly - the atmosphere is nothing desirable - the food is good (not great) - it’s dirty esp in the bathrooms - the sink in the ladies room is falling apart and the faucets are coming out of the vanity - I asked for an extra napkin and she brought me the cheapest tiny napkins I’ve ever seen - the guy cooking was not very happy which is not good - no interaction with the customers - the silverware is cheap - honestly if I can find another hibachi grill place I don’t need to go back. They can do so much better.”

“Ah man! Everything was wonderful. Curried goat, rice and peas, plantains. I should have gotten a to go box for the leftovers, but I ate the whole thing! Plus I tasted my partner's meal too. Cole slaw, mac and cheese and fried chicken. All very good.”

My steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare. The Brussel sprouts are my favorite veggie. Kudos to this establishment and the owners and their wonderful staff. Love you all.”

“4/27/2025 Earl Bancroft, blue cooler, I had 3 meals the last three evenings while attending spring Carlisle. Each meal was very good and an outstanding value. These folks prep and cook with fresh ingredients as if they are feeding family! The fact that they allow carry in beer/wine didn’t hurt either. Don’t miss out, give this place a try!!”

“Ordered take out for 4 adults on Saturday evening. First time we ordered food from this establishment but we checked other reviews and decided to give it a try. . Excellent. We ordered a couple of some evening specials: 1/2 Rack of ribs with chicken and 2 sides; another night special, pork and kraut with mashed as side. I might add if those mashed were not home made, I want the name of them--delicious, others ordered a cheesesteak sub. and the roll was absolutely delicious., with onions and peppers, fries and also another of mozz sticks with marinara, plain cheeseburger and fries. Everything was delicious and order perfect and they said only 15-20 time for pick up. The only thing that could have been better is if the pork and kraut meal and the rib & chicken meal came with dinner rolls or garlic bread. But no biggie. Would highly recommend and the 4 adults who ordered for this meal have all said will definitely go back. Great Job Mays!!!”

“There’s something unbeatable about a local diner on an early Sunday morning, especially when you’re far from home. Craving some eggs and potatoes to kick off the day, I was thrilled to find a spot that mixes it all together in a skillet—making it even more satisfying to dig into. The service was wonderful, and the food was even better. We arrived a little after 8 a.m., and by the time we left, it was clear why there was a line out the door. An awesome stop to start your day or recover from the night before!”

“Okay, we might have a problem… we’ve been coming to Marcello's for a few years and always eat in the dining room and order their delicious Italian food, but we’d never tried their pizza. Last week we had their pizza for the first time and we are now having it for the third time in a week. It’s a problem! This white pizza… 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼 They gave us these funnel fries and we’re weak in the knees. Cant recommend this place enough. My favorite part is that every time we come in we feel like family. Our new fav! 🍕”

The young wait staff were attentive and engaging.
Salad is delicious, with the perfect amount of dressing. "Bunt Ends" were flavorful.
The delicious "Cuban" sandwich was a hot presentation of spicy meats on a toasted baguette.
Enjoyed a luscious dry-hopped local beer on tap.
Arrived at eight when the later guests filled the place, and enjoyed a meal while people -watching.

Parking: At 8pm on Friday several street spaced were available within the block.”

“She was able to accommodate three different types of gluten free cupcakes for a birthday party. And all different types were delicious!!!!! People were raving about them. And you could never have been able to tell that they were gluten free!! Chocolate with peanut butter icing, carrot cake with cream cheese icing, and red velvet with cream cheese icing. All amazing and all made from scratch. Thanks again!”

“I frequent Chen’s often. Every one of their sushi rolls that I’ve tried was great (over the years I’ve tried quite a few, mostly from the “Chef’s Special Roll” section of the menu).

Excellent sushi aside, I’d like to highlight their spicy kani salad appetizer. Chen’s has my favorite kani salad—out of all that I’ve tried. It’s a perfect mix of meat, carrots, cucumbers, and creamy sauce. So craveable! Sometimes I’m tempted to order two, but I haven’t been quite bold enough to actually do that… yet.”

And if you eat meat, I'd guess that that you would be equally pleased.”

“The best experience provided by Garret, a Carlisle history lesson combined with awesome samples of great beers and articulated exactly what to expect with each beer and food selection. He knows his stuff! If you like a bit of spicy try the Philly burger! We have never had a burger prepared that way and is the best we have ever had. The Turncoat stout was a complete surprise to this beer snob! Loved it despite it looking like a cloudy IPA. Loved the red coat and peanut butter stout enough to take some home. Thanks to Garrett we will be coming back to visit with friends!”

“My daughter has IBS and is on the low Fodmap diet. After some time on this diet she discovered she is intolerant of Fructan Grains. Usually this translates to no bread or limited gluten free options. However, because this baker uses the Long Rise Sourdough technique, my daughter Penelope was able to enjoy a delicious Sourdough bread this weekend! We will order again and again! “I ordered a couple of pizzas today via DoorDash to feed my team. The quality of the pizzas and the flavor was top notch. My only issue was the “large” pizza is tiny. Which normally I would be ok but trying to feed a group at work with those tiny pizzas was a bit rough.”

“Definitely my new favorite place to get sushi! The sushi was delicious and the service was so great! Our food came very quickly and the server was very attentive and polite. It was our first time there and she explained the menu very patiently to us. As we came in and left, all the staff greeted us and you don’t get that experience very often in most restaurants. The restaurant was also very clean. All the sushi rolls we ordered were delicious and the mango mochi was a great dessert to finish with. Highly recommend it to anyone that loves good sushi and good service!”

“This is one of the places where you can still drink and smoke, so smokers seem to gather here. The egg rolls were rather bland. The live entertainment was not to my liking. That’s the extent of the negative. The French fries were outstanding and plentiful. Many places serve cheap blue cheese with wings-not here. Once again tasty and plentiful. Best of all, they have PBR on tap. The clientele is friendly. The wife and I had an enjoyable time. Plan to go back.”

“Wife and I went to John's Hideaway Restaurant for the first time on Saturday. I ordered the chipped beef over toast with hashbrowns. I have to say, it was the best darn chipped beef breakfast I ever had. It tastes like homemade, was nice and creamy, didn't need any extra seasoning. Well done!”

“I would absolutely recommend George's! This restaurant was founded on the American Dream! 66 years is a long time y'all! This is such a treasure in Carlisle! Besides that...The staff is amazing, down to earth and friendly (which is very important to me), the dining area/ restrooms were clean, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu and I especially love all their new options for catering! And how sweet is it to look at all those old vintage pictures, and say "hey you see that picture of the kid with the eye patch and busted up teeth, and looks like they belong on a sad commercial raising money... that was me!" haha. It's nice that they have tables instead of just the booths to accommodate more people with parties. And the soda self refill option is nice so you don't need to wait in line anymore to fill up your cup. Their 3 foot Sub is excellent for any event and is a crowd pleaser and a great price too! My absolute favorites would have to be the burger sub on homemade roll, white pizza, onion petals, fries, and milkshake.. okay like everything is good there haha.”
