“Today my daughter and I enjoyed the most delicious lunch at One 13 Social in downtown Carlisle. Small plates are elegant and perfect for lunch. Mine was Spoonbread Shrimp, extraordinarily creative flavors : salty olive tapanade, savory grilled shrimp, and sweet cornbread with honey butter. New to their terrific menu, hope it stays!! I tip my hat to the chef.”

“First time diners. Brought my wife for her birthday. Chose it based on reviews, food and dining room pics. The rustic ambiance reminded us of a restaurant we enjoyed shortly after our marriage 47 years ago. We loved the ambiance and dining... excellent. Our server, Sid, and Mike (the manager I think) were friendly, efficient and attentive. The food was delicious. my wife enjoyed her salmon and my shepherds pie was very tasty. We tried the mushroom appetizer suggested in other reviews and were so very glad we did. It was excellent. For desert, we shared a pear tart... oh my, it was sooo good... the perfect ending. Every aspect of our dining experience was excellent. We are already planning our return visit. Don't miss out, give this restaurant a try!”

“My high school class had a 50th year reunion event in September at Fiddlers and they did a fantastic job!! We were to be in the pavilion; however, rainy weather forced us indoors. Jennifer, the restaurant manager, went above and beyond to accommodate our large group in one of the banquet rooms and ensured that we were provided the best service possible. The food was awesome and the servers were superb!! Everyone had a great time!! Thank you for all you did to make our reunion a success!! We will be back!!”

“This place could be so much better if they would get new chairs (they’re all coming apart and wobbly) - the staff is not that friendly - the atmosphere is nothing desirable - the food is good (not great) - it’s dirty esp in the bathrooms - the sink in the ladies room is falling apart and the faucets are coming out of the vanity - I asked for an extra napkin and she brought me the cheapest tiny napkins I’ve ever seen - the guy cooking was not very happy which is not good - no interaction with the customers - the silverware is cheap - honestly if I can find another hibachi grill place I don’t need to go back. They can do so much better.”

“was hesitant at first but we went on a whim. their sushi is top notch. so amazing. even their rainbow roll blew us away. so fresh and a delicate sweet flavor. we suspect the Carlisle roll will be our favorite! their yakisoba was really good too. can't wait to go back and try more of the dishes!!!! this will be our new fav sushi place in town”

“4/27/2025 Earl Bancroft, blue cooler, I had 3 meals the last three evenings while attending spring Carlisle. Each meal was very good and an outstanding value. These folks prep and cook with fresh ingredients as if they are feeding family! The fact that they allow carry in beer/wine didn’t hurt either. Don’t miss out, give this place a try!!”

“Ordered take out for 4 adults on Saturday evening. First time we ordered food from this establishment but we checked other reviews and decided to give it a try. . Excellent. We ordered a couple of some evening specials: 1/2 Rack of ribs with chicken and 2 sides; another night special, pork and kraut with mashed as side. I might add if those mashed were not home made, I want the name of them--delicious, others ordered a cheesesteak sub. and the roll was absolutely delicious., with onions and peppers, fries and also another of mozz sticks with marinara, plain cheeseburger and fries. Everything was delicious and order perfect and they said only 15-20 time for pick up. The only thing that could have been better is if the pork and kraut meal and the rib & chicken meal came with dinner rolls or garlic bread. But no biggie. Would highly recommend and the 4 adults who ordered for this meal have all said will definitely go back. Great Job Mays!!!”

“90% of the time, the food is great! But on April 16th, 2023, I got a delivery. The Fettuccine Alfredo was great, but the salad was AWFUL! I ordered a Grilled Chocken Salad and it DID NOT have any grilled chicken on it, it had NO croutons, & it had NO cheese on it! It was bland and awful!”

“The best experience provided by Garret, a Carlisle history lesson combined with awesome samples of great beers and articulated exactly what to expect with each beer and food selection. He knows his stuff! If you like a bit of spicy try the Philly burger! We have never had a burger prepared that way and is the best we have ever had. The Turncoat stout was a complete surprise to this beer snob! Loved it despite it looking like a cloudy IPA. Loved the red coat and peanut butter stout enough to take some home. Thanks to Garrett we will be coming back to visit with friends!”

Craving some eggs and potatoes to kick off the day, I was thrilled to find a spot that mixes it all together in a skillet—making it even more satisfying to dig into. The service was wonderful, and the food was even better. We arrived a little after 8 a.m., and by the time we left, it was clear why there was a line out the door. An awesome stop to start your day or recover from the night before!”

“I recently had redds bbq cater my wedding and they did an amazing job! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for catering their special day at a good price! Brent was super personable and made the whole experience really easy. They cleaned up the food us and gave everyone good sized portions. There was definitely no one going home hungry. All of our guests raved about their food. I would definitely support this small business again.”

The young wait staff were attentive and engaging.
Salad is delicious, with the perfect amount of dressing. "Bunt Ends" were flavorful.
The delicious "Cuban" sandwich was a hot presentation of spicy meats on a toasted baguette.
Enjoyed a luscious dry-hopped local beer on tap.
Arrived at eight when the later guests filled the place, and enjoyed a meal while people -watching.

Parking: At 8pm on Friday several street spaced were available within the block.”

“She was able to accommodate three different types of gluten free cupcakes for a birthday party. And all different types were delicious!!!!! People were raving about them. And you could never have been able to tell that they were gluten free!! Chocolate with peanut butter icing, carrot cake with cream cheese icing, and red velvet with cream cheese icing. All amazing and all made from scratch. Thanks again!”

“Okay, we might have a problem… we’ve been coming to Marcello's for a few years and always eat in the dining room and order their delicious Italian food, but we’d never tried their pizza. Last week we had their pizza for the first time and we are now having it for the third time in a week. It’s a problem! This white pizza… 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼 They gave us these funnel fries and we’re weak in the knees. Cant recommend this place enough. My favorite part is that every time we come in we feel like family. Our new fav! 🍕”

“I frequent Chen’s often. Every one of their sushi rolls that I’ve tried was great (over the years I’ve tried quite a few, mostly from the “Chef’s Special Roll” section of the menu).

Excellent sushi aside, I’d like to highlight their spicy kani salad appetizer. Chen’s has my favorite kani salad—out of all that I’ve tried. It’s a perfect mix of meat, carrots, cucumbers, and creamy sauce. So craveable! Sometimes I’m tempted to order two, but I haven’t been quite bold enough to actually do that… yet.”

“Hadn't been to Passage for a while. Going to the buffet today was a nice reminder of the comfortable atmosphere and the extensive choices. From the fresh berries at the top to the excellent kera at the and all of the vegetable dishes inbetween, it all seemed just right to my vegetarian taste. It was our first time there and she explained the menu very patiently to us. As we came in and left, all the staff greeted us and you don’t get that experience very often in most restaurants. The restaurant was also very clean. All the sushi rolls we ordered were delicious and the mango mochi was a great dessert to finish with. Highly recommend it to anyone that loves good sushi and good service!”

“Al’s Pizza in Carlisle is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of life. The staff went above and beyond with their service friendly, attentive, and quick without ever feeling rushed.

The food was outstanding! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with care. You can tell they put real pride into what comes out of the kitchen.

What made the experience even better was talking with the owner. He was genuinely incredible to chat with personable, down-to-earth, and clearly passionate about both the food and the people who come in. It’s rare to find that kind of energy and connection these days, and it truly set Al’s Pizza apart.

“This is one of the places where you can still drink and smoke, so smokers seem to gather here. The egg rolls were rather bland. The live entertainment was not to my liking. That’s the extent of the negative. The French fries were outstanding and plentiful. Many places serve cheap blue cheese with wings-not here. Once again tasty and plentiful. Best of all, they have PBR on tap. The clientele is friendly. The wife and I had an enjoyable time. Plan to go back.”

“Wife and I went to John's Hideaway Restaurant for the first time on Saturday. I ordered the chipped beef over toast with hashbrowns. I have to say, it was the best darn chipped beef breakfast I ever had. It tastes like homemade, was nice and creamy, didn't need any extra seasoning. Well done!”

“We were in town for 1 night and we had our pups with us. We saw they were dog friendly and sat outside. The blacked salmon tacos were fantastic and beer selection is extensive. Hubby had fish and chips and he liked them. The service was good. Atmosphere outside was fine. Only complaint was that the street is super busy so it can be loud, but nothing the bar can do about that.”

“Stopped here on our way to Lancaster for a soccer tournament and we were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. We learned that it was recently remodeled and they did a fantastic job. It is very clean and welcoming. Wonderful to see a crab cake offered on the kids menu. Everything we ordered was delicious. Husband ordered the special: red snapper with lump crab. It was amazing. Service and waitress were excellent. Highly recommend and will definitely be back again if we are in the area.”

“Sunday August 17th my wife and daughter and I were trying to decide on dinner. We agreed on popeyes. We pulled up to the ordering position and was greeted very politely and pleasantly. We placed our order and pulled up to the window. I was greeted by a pleasant young man who took my card and promptly handed me my food shortly after. At this point I normally would've driven off, but I felt compelled to inform the young man by the name of Marco that his gracious attitude and pleasant demeanor made the drive through experience better than other places we've been. It was refreshing to talk with someone like Marco. I'd say I would definitely go back not just for the food but to be greeted by Marco as well. This young man deserves recognition for his efforts and amazing attitude and effort he puts into his work.”
