“This, by far, seems to be one of the most perfect places in Austin to get the right size sandwich, a place where the sandwich is not too heavy and at the same time not too light. I would definitely come here for lunch on a weekday or frankly any day if you’re looking to have something delicious but not too filling to the point where you have to go to sleep afterwards. The staff here is very courteous and are very nice to tourists who are looking for recommendations about where and what to do in Austin. “This was my first time at Thundercloud Subs, it's tucked away in a little corner and I only found it because google let me know They were there.I have never been so when I walked in I was suprised to find as a basic menu item a sandwich with all my preferences- the greenbelt.Rebecca was so nice she walked me through everything.One employee was in the back getting coached by the manager. He seems a little on the grumpy side I'm sure he could be nicer but all his feedback seemed reasonable and meant to help the customer so you can't be too hard on him.On my drink it says they've been making subs since 1975 and it shows. I was expecting little bits of dryness on the sandwich like I get at Jimmy John's some times, but it was perfect. The Jalepeno chips even seemed a little fresher. No joke this was mind blowing for such a small unremarkable spot. I will say this. Marketing isn't everything. They may not be as fast but they take their time to do a great job.All in all this place walks the walk.“

“This place was super tasty!!! I would definitely go back. We got the cold cuts sandwhich, salad and the matzoh ball soup. The matzoh balls could have been a little fluffier but otherwise it was spot on. My one complaint is that everything was a little too salty for me. I definitely felt the need to drink a lot of water. I think that if the salt was reduced by like 15% this would all be perfect.“

“This place is awesome! Love the atmosphere and the nostalgia. Has an old school vibe and the name of this place speakers for itself. The menu has a lot of 420 references which makes it fun and cool especially when you order! The food is amazing and taste great. This is nowy new go-to for a sub sandwich! The food came out how and fast, definitely recommend this place to dine in or carry out you won't be disappointed and I guarantee you will go back again and again!

“No frills, a gem of a ‘hole in the wall’ joint. Simple and delicious cheap (price) food. They have backery/sweets for sale in the front that looked divine, will be back to try later. Pork banh mi- perfectly crisp exterior and fluffy interior bread, balanced fillings - hefty portion of pork balanced by slightly sweet pickled carrots and daikon with a kick from the jalapeños. Bun bo hue- deeply savory soup base with chewy vermicelli noodles, tender beef, pork was a bit tough, ideal onion to noodle ratio per bite, plenty of bean sprouts on the side. Pork and mushroom banh cuon- perfectly cooked springy rice wrap with juicy pork and mushroom mince filling. Topped with fried shallots, basil, and cilantro. Not commonly offered at Vietnamese restaurants and this place’s is heavenly. One of the best Vietnamese places I’ve been to and I’m from Houston. Will dream of the banh cuon and banh mi from here.“

The staff are always fast, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food --- well.... if you haven't had a ThunderCloud Sub you are completely missing out! DELICIOUS!“

“I ordered my go-to Beach Club and tried the potato salad.

The Beach Club was really lacking the avocado spread. It was still great - but I actually opened up the sandwich to see if it was even added. Tip - if you are an avocado fanatic order a little extra. I also asked to have the bread taken out (an option they offer) and cut in half - both of those requests were missed. No big deal in the grand scheme of things. The potato salad is 100% worth skipping. I thought it would contain more potatoes. It’s basically a mustard/mayo/dill concoction. Grab some chips instead and call it a day.

Store was quiet and very clean, staff was polite. I grabbed my bag off the shelf and left. (I ordered online for pickup) No real interaction necessary.“

“Out of all the sub places around town, Jersey Mike's is definitely at the top! They have a great variety and while their cold subs are definitely fresh, I absolutely LOVE their hot subs. I got the buffalo chicken cheesesteak and each bite was heaven! So savory and creamy and the combination of melty cheese and sauce was perfect. Only complaint would be that they could've added a couple more tomatoes/lettuce to balance out the flavor.“
