“I was here for a corporate team building and loved it so much that I organized three friends outings with teens (weekday before 6pm). I specially like the clean air, camera & screen play, and general upscale atmosphere provided here for playing darts that I haven’t found anywhere else in town.
Everyone loves this place. 90 minutes of fun for a group of 6-8 fly by very quickly, so consider 90 mins to be your minimum rental time.
The beef sliders are delish as well as the spinach dip and pizza. Every food item is small, though. So consider dining somewhere else before or after.
Cocktails have been good. I like the Snapdragon.
If you make reservations, book for a few less people so you are not stuck paying for no-shows. You can always pay for more guests when they show up.
The place is not cheap, though. You will pay per person for playtime, plus food dishes that are small and pricey. Cocktail prices are similar to an upscale restaurant.
It has been worth the experience, but do consider what else you will do before or after because 90 min of playtime is short and if your group has teens, you will be out of there by 6pm which is too early for most kids’ outings.“

“AMAZING. my fiancé made a reservation to celebrate our engagement with some friends. I really like the vibe, amazing ambiance and music and decoration. Drink options are great and staff are incredible!!!
One thing, the marble coaster got stuck to the glass and drop often. Another words, when you pick up the glasses, the coaster comes with it for a bit and drops with a bit of noise.
Other than that— PERFECT 10/10 !!!“

“Came here January 9th for dinner at 530 and we had an amazing experience. Our table ordered a few different things but the highlights of the meal were the Tenders, the Burger, and the Crispy tuna.
The service at the restaurant was excellent and all the staff was so kind and accommodating. Imit honestly felt like every person who worked at the bar came to our table and checked on it, including the owner Dan who was so welcoming and kind. The entire staff made us feel like we were guests who come everyday despite it being our first time !
I absolutely loved my experience here at Melrose and I can't wait to come back.“

“I love the vibe of this place. Lots of dark wood, marble tables, windows that let natural light in. It’s just a pleasant atmosphere. The baristas are friendly and the lattes are not overpriced. It’s located in a neat little enclave of Houston right off the Ensemble/HCC light rail stop. It’s right next to Sig’s Lagoon, which is a really good record store, and some good restaurants and clubs and things like that.“

“I met up with a friend for early Friday evening drinks. At 5 PM when we arrived, that bar was about 90% full and stayed that way until we left after 7. I was able to find street parking on White Oak. Our server was helpful and checked in frequently. I had non-alcoholic drinks that were sophisticated. Seating is hard to find if you don’t get here early. Immaculate space with intimate vibe. This place would be most ideal for me on a late afternoon or early evening to avoid the crowd.“
“Great spot to grab a drink before dinner at Doku or nearby. Reservations recommended as its a small space! Creative drinks with high-end ingredients. Rating lower as the bar was out of olives! As a martini bar, we found that quite surprising!“

“I love this place. Very cozy atmosphere and the bartender’s are friendly. I love their burgers and it is easy to park. They actually have a parking lot. You don’t have to stress about where to park. That is a big deal in the Heights. There is also an outside patio.“

“Truly a Houston gem! I’ve been regularly coming to Under the Volcano for more than 3 years and it never disappoints. The place itself gives you such an authentic feel!! The tacos are excellent specially the Buenos Aires…whoever their cook is I hope they never leave. Beer is great and so are their mixed drinks. The staff is always wanting you to have a nice time. “I've been dining at La Columbe D'or since 1985 and been through its many changes. It is still THE go to place for a quiet romantic dinner or lunch. Its the kind of place where manners still matter and you can have a conversation without having to yell at each other. The menu is a little smaller than it used to be but they execute what is on the menu very very well. There is simply no other place like it in the city and for the quality, the prices are very reasonable. It is iconic and historic and a must try.“

The drinks are of the highest level, and the service is seriously top-tier. Massive shoutout to Mabel, Corey, and Manny the man🧍♂️ and the whole team. They’re all super professional, but still keep things relaxed and fun. You feel welcomed, taken care of, and honestly, like part of the place.
