“Tried Beaux Southern Seafood for the first time today. I ordered the Basket with oysters and crab cakes. It came with 2 huge fluffy hush puppies, crispy fries and a fresh version of coleslaw. It was delicious and it was more than enough to feed 2 people.“

“We love to eat, and love food. Simply put, our anniversary dinner at Ember was absolutely a Top 3 dining experience in our 26 years of marriage! The only thing that topped it was a one-off dinner at The James Beard House we were lucky enough to be a part of...and that is saying a LOT to just barely be runner-up to that! Not only was the food simply incredible (we had filet skewers, the seafood plate, and the mole pork chop...with roasted carrots and the potatoes as sides, and the flan for dessert) but it was the best service we've ever received. Not just from our server but the entire staff from chefs to managers to bartenders. Not only do you get an incredibly attentive server, the entire restaurant staff seems attentive to your needs. To go deeper on what makes Ember so special, they cook nearly everything in a Mesquite coal Josper oven which is unique to ATX. It gives a distinct smoke to everything, but in no way overpowering. The culinary team at Ember then highlights the Josper with both incredibly complex dishes (pork chop with handmade mole that is as deep, rich, complex, and paired with sweetness via a sweet potato with honey drizzle and brightness of fresh citrus and absolute umami bombs via picked / brined tomatoes) and the most "simple" of dishes (crispy roasted yukon and red bliss potatoes with garlic, shallot, tossed in tallow...simply amazing and must have) everything is constructed and executed perfectly. Whether a special occasion or just a random Wednesday, this is one of the best restaurant experiences anywhere. Huge thanks to the staff at Ember for making our special night super memorable.“

We came in for the happy hour menu and left planning our next visit. The crab and andouille hush puppies were outstanding — worth ordering even at full price — and Bill’s Burger absolutely delivered. Emily behind the bar was fantastic: sharp, friendly, and clearly good at what she does.

Great food, great value, great service. Downtown Austin has no shortage of options, but this one’s earned a spot in the rotation. Five stars.“

“We made a reservation here for my boyfriend’s birthday and had an amazing time! We sat outside on the deck, and the ambiance was great. The sourdough and smoked salmon dip was delicious and everyone loved their entrees. Molly, our server, was absolutely fantastic! She brought a dessert out for my boyfriend with a candle at the end of our meal and played a harmonica while we sang happy birthday. We couldn’t have asked for a better night. Will be back again!“

“I saw The Shore on my Google map and clicked on the link. I saw their Happy Hour Menu and noticed they had 1/2 price Oysters and several other choices. We decided to stop there on our way back home. We got there at 3:30 and found that they would not open until 4 pm due to an earlier water leak. We asked if we could just sit at the bar until they opened because we really wanted to have oysters for our anniversary. The manager said since we were wanting oysters we could sit at the bar and get drinks and the oysters. Chef Cody explained all the different oysters offered and we decided to let him choose the oysters and we were not disappointed . He chose the gulf coast, summer time, Black moon and pink moon. All the options were fresh tasting with just a touch of saltiness . We also had the mussels with fries. We have not had mussels this good in a very long time. the broth was thick with butter, wine and capers. The grilled ciabatta bread was so buttery and crispy we ordered additional pieces. The calamari was lightly breaded rings and tentacles and were heavenly. We also tried the Hi Mexican Lager on tap, it was light and smooth. Our bartender was very sweet and helpful with our choices. We also would like to thank the manager who being so accommodating to us and making our 42nd anniversary so special. We will definitely stop there again!!!!!“

“Had an amazing experience for our Wedding Anniversary. We had a 9pm reservation. Since our bar reservation wasn’t immediately available, they offered us a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. Then the wait staff offered us another option upstairs since it would be available prior to our bar reservation (which was preferred but not initially available when I made the reservation). Our waiter Forrest was Amazing and explained everything very well. The drinks, bruschetta with prime steak trimmings, main course (NY Strip w/bone), tagliolini w/fresh blue crab, gem Caesar salad, Tiramisu and Gelati (salted caramel) were all AMAZING. Had a memorable moment with my wife and greatly was appreciated! Also the staff had a signed Happy Anniversary Card at the table upon our arrival.“

“Absolutely loved Nomade. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the service was excellent, and the food was easily one of the best dining experiences we've had in Austin. This time we went mostly for small plates and shared the octopus, panuchos, cauliflower, esquites, barbacoa tacos, and hearts of palm ceviche. Everything was full of flavor and so well done. What really stood out to me was how the food felt authentic but also completely unique. Some of the flavors honestly transported me to an old hacienda in Mérida, Yucatán. The cochinita tasted like it had just come straight out of the pib, while the atmosphere and vibe made us feel like we were having dinner somewhere in Tulum or Holbox. It's one of those places where you can forget about your day for a couple of hours and feel like you're on a little vacation somewhere in the Riviera Maya or Yucatán. The drinks were great too. I had a Negroni, and my husband had a tamarind zero-proof cocktail. We both loved them. And the dessert was probably one of the biggest highlights for us. We don't consume dairy, so we tried the plant-based dulce de leche flan. My husband hadn't had flan in almost 10 years, so being able to enjoy one again was really special. We've tried plenty of plant-based desserts at other places, but we had never found anything quite like this dulce de leche flan. The flavor and texture were incredible. Nomade is definitely one of our new favorite spots in Austin. Amazing food, beautiful atmosphere, great service, and a place we'll absolutely be coming back to very soon.“
