“My go-to coffeeshop ever since moving to the neighborhood a year ago. The coffee is delicious and every sandwich is made fresh. Comfortable seating on the upper level with views of the nearby park makes for a great spot to relax. Highly recommend over the many chain coffeeshops dotting Navy Yard.“

“Had an amazing lunch at Ala Bethesda! The short ribs were tender and full of flavor, and the hummus was some of the best I’ve had. The space was cozy and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive. A perfect midday treat — can’t wait to go back!“

“Cute place right in the heart of DC! Tried the cheese and onion empanadas and they were so delicious. Pastries looked yummy, and my oat milk cappuccino was really good. Highly recommend for a quick coffee to-go or snack if you're in the area!“

“Great place. Wish they would open a 2nd place at Liberty Exchange in Sykesville - 2 units still open for a nice coffee place (that isn’t Starbucks!) one is right next to Basta Pasta!!“

“I recently discovered this cafe in Arlington and I love it! They made such a great use of the space; it's cozy and decorated so nicely. I LOVE the avocado toast and the coffee is to die for. I've spent a few mornings sipping an iced latte while reading a book outside and it was simply perfect. It was the first place I went to when I got back for spring break. My new favorite! Would highly recommend.“

“I went in on 4th of July for the first time and tried an iced la banda (lavender) cappuccino at the awesome Robin's suggestion. It was creamy and perfect for the summer day, and Robin was so kind! I took my friend back the next day and we got an iced cortado, an iced orange despadura, and an iced.. vanilla latte! Yeah. Another customer suggested adding mocha to the orange, and it was HEAVENLY. I was skeptical of orange in coffee, but no, I was wrong! There's a reason why the despadura is the most popular drink! The other baristas are equally nice, and I just like the vibe there in general. We found a nice place to sit outside. I think the only suggestion I'd give is to make the coffee display in the center of the shop a bit smaller so people can get around it more easily. Unido is so cool. ☕️🌸“

“Went here with some friends- it was one of their favorite cafes, and I could tell why- we shared our different coffee drinks, and they were all very tasty. The breakfast bagels were really good, they had some spices or herbs with the egg or something that gave it a nice je ne sais quoi. It was kind of sweet but a really unique egg bagel sandwich.
We went on a weekend morning and it was hopping! There was just enough seating to fit everyone in there, but I could see it getting tight if it was any busier.
I love that you can bring your own mug, and the staff was very friendly. Good vibes all around.“

“This coffee shop is a hidden gem! The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the warm, inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. Their menu has a great variety, from rich espresso to creamy lattes and even delicious pastries. The ambiance is cozy, with comfortable seating and soft lighting, perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. I tried their signature cappuccino, and it was hands down the best I’ve had. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quality coffee experience!”“

“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! The owner was also so kind - we just felt so cared for the whole time and can't wait to visit again.“

“What a gem! Super affordable, incredible pastry selection, & maybe the best latte I've ever had 🥰 Bonus is they don't charge for alt milk options. I got an iced latte w almond milk & a mango danish. The staff were friendly & kept the line moving quickly. As others have said, only a few tables inside & out, but I was looking for something to go anyway, so this was perfect. Will definitely be back!“

“Love this seemingly secret spot! It's tucked away, but conveniently located right by the U St Metro station. I enjoy and look fwd to their unique seasonal flavors and the welcoming vibe as it's also the lobby of a hostel/hotel. Glad they are still going strong!“

“Came for a tasting as part of Tasting Collective and was glad I did. This was truly a great experience. The 5 course tasting had 2 courses (1st & 4th) that needed to be altered as I'm a pescetarian therefore, don't eat duck. So in place of the duck paté, I was served figs and brie and in place of the duck breast I was served branzino. Each course was nicely paired with wine, again adding to this wonderful experience.
The fig and brie with the croutons was delicious, followed by the roasted pear with gouda, pecans and pomegranate sprinkles which was a delightful tasty plate. Who would think white chocolate and cauliflower purée would be delicious and pair beautifully with seared scallops? Clearly Chef Moore did and how right was he. That purée had folks at our table scraping to get all of it. The next course was a substitute dish and was beyond disappointing, especially compared to the other 3 courses. The branzino was BLAND, but the olives that were on the side were extra salty. I thought I was supposed to eat them together, but that didn't help. I couldn't even eat this course. The final course was a butterscotch pudding, a great way to end the meal/night.
Chef Moore was very welcoming. He answered questions and took pictures with the guests.
I'll definitely add this to my list of restaurants.“

“Delicious coffee! I’ve had many iced lattes in my life and the one I had here is definitely up there as one of my favorite cups. The service was also amazing — Greg is so kind and helpful. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area and looking for a good cup of coffee and a solid breakfast :)“

“By far the best café in D.C. Coffee with a soul. Kind staff - all of them. Delicious coffee. And a cool atmosphere that makes my soul dance. Jazz music, French music, classic guitar rock playing on the speaker, and that classic Parisian café vibe - not gentrified or highbrow. No. Cozy, tasty, relaxing, and affordable. What a café should be! Stay awesome, Café Au Lait :)“

“Pub like atmosphere with an eclectic menu. Service was pretty good, and certainly helpful and friendly. The menu is somewhat like a tapas place in that the portions are fairly small and if you go hungry, you may need to order more than one. Has an outside area, heated, where you enjoy the official bird song of Washington DC - the police siren.“

“Rue has been my go-to cafe for the last year or so, so I decided it’s way overdue for me to give them a review. I literally love everything about Rue - the coffee is delicious and I love all their seasonal drinks (though it’s always so hard to decide between getting the seasonal and my go-to lavender latte), the food is fireeee (get the avo turkey with spicy mayo! it’s so good 😭 oh and the parmesan/leek pastry is stupid good, as are like all their pastries), and all the staff are just beyond kind and wonderful. The space is also super cute and cozy. Absolutely my favorite cafe in the neighborhood and will be my go-to always.“

“The best almond croissant and blueberry matcha! I got regular size blueberry matcha and an almond croissant and paid 15$ - a little overpriced. One star deducted is for that reason. Nice ambience and I usually don’t like matcha that much much this one was fire!“

“Came here for coffee and breakfast. I ordered bacon and eggs, wife ordered a croissant sandwich. Hers was better than mine. The small hash brown patties came soggy and almost undercooked. The eggs were fried nicely. The toast was supposed to be sourdough, but it was more like a thick cut of white bread and under toasted, probably because it's so thick. Bacon was nice. I had a cappuccino and it was acceptable, but not good enough to finish. This is a really clean, nice, professional coffee shop with a lot of working professionals stopping by. Good atmosphere and a solid go to spot.“

“I've been to SOST a few times over the last few months. I love it. The food is delicious and the staff are really top tier. They all have a great demeanor and offer a great environment. There is always something nice to enjoy at SOST, whether it be love music, a cafe vibe, or a community event.
Some friends and I went today for brunch. All though the menu was a bit limited, we all ordered 3 different things and we all enjoyed it. Our server was a great sport by listening to us ask why there weren't any breads or carbs on the menu and Saim was very accommodating when spoke with him as well. He gave us a full tour of the restaurant and it was just a great time right before the Brunch and Go Home event began.“

“A nice Starbucks, but crowded during
weekends. I have been there twice, and both times were crowded. It is ok for a Starbucks to be almost fully packed, but in this place, some people talked very loudly, and I didn’t feel comfortable sitting inside.“
