“This spot feels less like a restaurant and more like a community hub. Homey & welcoming.
Coming from the restaurant background, I grew to love food places that have no gimmicks and are true to their standard - Pho Liu is on top of that short list in Seattle.
I go here 3 times a week & they serve consistently high quality pho. The small bowl (pictured) is more than enough & leaves room to try their delicious apps. Fish-sauced wings, spring rolls, egg rolls are all phenomenal.
One way to tell they take care of their craft is how long the noodles can sit in the broth without releasing any starch. Fresh noodles, perfectly cooked, and well strained. Also their bean sprouts and herbs are extremely fresh. Never once have I had soggy or bitter bean sprouts here - which is more common at pho places than you’d think.
The owner family & servers here are great & kind people, as well. The subtle cues are how many regulars I’ve seen on random visits and how well the fish (in the fish tank) are taken care of.
This neighborhood place is truly one of the last pre-tech boom Seattle relics.“

“Descent atmosphere, just a bit sketchy with owner/services if you speak the language they are treated very differently than other cultures. Services are fresh, depending who served you. I notice the ladies treat their culture better than others. Only if you are acquainted with them, if you been with them before.“

“We ordered a few items tonight and they were delicious, the chicken chow mein, the sautéed udon noodles, and the giant prawn fried rice. All amazing! My son also had the fried dumplings and spring rolls. He really enjoyed them as well. We were all happy and full. Everything was delicious, we had plenty left over, would definitely visit again.“

“I have the great luck of eating home cooked Thai and Cambodian food so my opinion is colored by regional home cooked meals. With that, Phnom Penh Noodle House serves up traditional and deliciois Cambodian foods in generous portions at reasonable prices. The servers and wait staff are friendly, skilled, and easy to chat with. You will find three generational dining at many of tables and it reminds me of attending a family event. Come for the great food and come back for the easy going atmosphere.“

“Previously a 7 year resident of the community, I was tipped about this restaurant by an area resident 3 years into living in Seattle back in 2011. After the first time ordering, I later became a frequent customer. Definitely, a good place for Pho in Seattle!“

“My husband introduced me to Tai Tung shortly after we were married 60 years ago. My sons grew up eating there and much later my granddaughter did too. The food is exquisite, especially shrimp in crab sauce, the service is impeccable and the ambiance is kind of old fashioned and comfortable. In fact, Tai Tung is and always has been virtually the best restaurant in Seattle.“

“Brunch out on the Fourth of July before heading into the day. If we hadn’t been brought here by locals or word of mouth, we never would have found this hidden gem. One family, two shops: Kauai Family Restaurant and Cakes of Paradise (sells coffee and delicious desserts - smashed macaroon was a hit).
One Big Loco Moco and Kalua Pork were “shared” with the Loco Moco winning out; both the gravy and egg yoke meandering through the rice made it a “one more bite and then you can have it” dish. The best kind.
Chill atmosphere, backing tunes present but not overwhelming, friendly staff, and excellent food. What’s not to like?“

“Came to this place after a long day of traveling for some takeout. We walked in and immediately noticed the cozy and welcoming atmosphere. My boyfriend and I were the only two in the restaurant and the staff greeted us very kindly right away. The owner (I assume from reading other reviews) brought out our food and greeted us so kindly, she treated us like family, called us both by name and before leaving she prayed over us. It was such a genuine and beautiful gesture that I was not expecting. She packed up our food and hugged us both goodbye. The food was great and exactly what we needed after a long day. We are just visitors here but through that short interaction and tasty food it made us feel like it was home. Thank you Rose Pho, we will absolutely be coming back on our next visit!“

“I am a huge pho connoisseur and been to many spots around the great Seattle area (mostly south in federal way, Kent, Renton) and this is my new favorite spot. Service is always great, clean and modern interior, and the pho is 🔥🔥. Price is fair compared to other spots, and if you come with friends and family they have a variety of other options like phad thai and teriyaki. Highly recommend if you are in the kent-east hill area!!
To those bigger eaters like me (I go all out on pho) the large bowl is definitely a Large bowl with ample portions of everything: more noodles, meat, and soup. And again the service is always amazing and kitchen staff are always on point with timing and quality.“

“When I first moved to the neighborhood, this was the very first place my awesome neighbors recommended… and I’m so glad they did! The food is delicious, the service friendly and prompt, and the atmosphere is welcoming, clean, and unpretentious.
It has become the place my family looks forward to eating when they visit, and where my partner and I go when we need a little treat (or order takeout from when we need a little comfort).
My personal favorite is the Rama Noodles, because the pan-fried noodles are perfectly tender and chewy with exceptional flavor, and the peanut sauce… I mean, I would honestly lick the plate afterwards if I had only slightly less dignity!
That said, everything we’ve ordered from there has been top-tier. Highly recommend!“

“I'm totally hooked to this place to the point I come by almost once a week. The food is absolutely freaking delicious and not only the that the owner is sweet as the sauce glazing the spam Katsu Masubi! You can tell she loves what she does and the rest of the people working behind the scene to make this all happen! 5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟“

“Okay, hear me out. I’m very generous on my stars. For teriyaki, I will vote Buxx as the best teriyaki in Seattle, greater Seattle. Many reasons it deserves the 5. It’s like they already know what you’re going to order, because the food comes out so fast no matter how long the wait is. They run a tight crew, I assume. Because it’s been the same people running the place for the 20 years I’ve come here. The prices are great, there are many specials you can choose from if you’re craving for salty & sweet, they have a katsu/teriyaki special. For me, I always get the chicken super combo, for $21, you get the chicken teriyaki, salad & rice, potstickers and an egg roll. The people who run the business are the sweetest people , I think the husband and wife switch off on shifts because they’re always open.“

“My office ordered here for a big to-go order on a cozy, rainy day, and they were so accommodating! An order for 7 people was ready in 20 minutes and packaged securely. We ordered Pho Tai and Pho Nam, grilled pork Bahn mi, a bunch of egg rolls, and the sweet and sour pho, which was amazing if you like to explore flavors, dont shy away from it! All of our food was great, there were no complaints from anyone. 10/10 for these guys, a true hidden gem in Tukwila, WA! Fair warning: their chili oil is no joke. I would buy jars of this stuff. Edit: this place is under new management so this review is no longer accurate“

“Best pho and Vietnamese food I’ve ever had! Super fun place with amazing food. Stopped in and was seated immediately. Every item we tried was outstanding. It’s rare to find a gem that has great service, food, and atmosphere and these people have it figured out. Also, met the owner and she talked to us about how these are her recipes. It just tastes like home cooking and not actual plug and play restaurant food. We’re lifers at this place now! I mean it’s so good we went back the next day.“

“My first time in and really didn’t have many expectations but was blown away by the friendly staff. Ordered papaya salad w/ tofu. Tofu came fried to perfection in my book. Requested some fish sauce, the server asked if I would prefer fish dressing, big smile on my face :). Ordered a (banh-mi) sandwich w/ tofu, tofu was a little soft for my liking but had great flavor and a overly fair amount of ingredients, two thumbs up 👍. I received a side of fish dressing I used some chilly paste in it, the other server asked if I would like to have the chilly oil… ohh man was I happy with that suggestion!! Loved it!! Would recommend for an authentic flavor and palates. Will return and try more. Super excited to have a very good pho place here at the beach!! Thanks for doing what y’all doing there!!“

“This feels like a hidden gem? The food and service were good. We had complimentary hot tea, hard to enjoy on a warm day but welcomed. I ordered the garlic eggplant, water boiled fish, and one of the lamb dish that had onions. Everything came out so delicious and as I expected from previous sichuanese restaurant experiences. The food is served family style on a large plate with one serving spoon. It can be difficult to eat the food with chopsticks as it gets oily real quick but they provide a spoon upon request. I would love to come back as often as possible if I were closer. It's also pretty affordable for the amount of food received.“

“5 star for the grilled pork Vietnamese sandwich. The meat was tender & perfectly marinated. They used Vietnamese bo (aoli) instead of mayonnaise. Veggies were fresh & bread was toasted.
I will come here for my Vietnamese sandwiches if I don’t have time to wait at Q bakery.“

“I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS PLACE!! i tried their pork buns and matcha sesame ball.
the pork was nicely tender and had a good flavor to it.
the matcha sesame ball was delicious and my fav. the dough was good amount of greasy. it's filled with black sesame filling which was u expecting considering it being matcha, so it didn't really give matcha. but i love it and would absolutely recommend it!“

“So this is pretty much my favourite ramen in the U.S. This is the first restaurant I ate at in Seattle in over ten years ago and it has never disappointed me. The broth is rich but also simple. The textures are just right. I’m a huge fan overall.“

“I recently stopped by Seattle Dumpling Co at Pike Street, and honestly this place turned out to be one of the hidden gems of the area. With so many food spots around Pike Place, it can be hard deciding where to eat, but I am glad we ended up here.
The first thing I noticed was how fresh everything tasted. The dumplings came out hot, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. You could tell they were made with care and not just rushed out. Every bite had a good balance of flavor, and the texture was exactly what you want from good dumplings. The sauces paired really well with them too and added even more flavor without overpowering the food itself.
One thing that surprised me was the pricing. For being right around Pike Street and in such a busy tourist area, I honestly expected the prices to be much higher. Instead, it felt fair for the portion sizes and the quality of the food. That made the experience even better because it did not feel like one of those places charging extra just because of the location.
The atmosphere was simple but welcoming. It did not try too hard to be fancy, and honestly that worked in its favor. Sometimes the best food spots are the ones that focus more on the food than everything else around it. The staff was friendly, helpful, and kept things moving quickly even with people constantly coming in.
This is the kind of spot that you almost do not want too many people finding out about because it feels like a hidden gem in the middle of a busy area. It is easy to walk right past it without realizing how good the food actually is.
Overall, I had a really good experience here. Great food, fair prices, friendly service, and a good location made it worth the stop. I would definitely come back again the next time I am in Seattle and would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid meal around Pike Street.“

“Dough Zone did not disappoint! I’m not sure how authentic it is, but it was a great family friendly spot, and I’d rate it 8/10. “Had an amazing experience at Renton Bistro! I came specifically to try their Vietnamese food and ordered the grilled pork chop with broken rice (cơm tấm đặc biệt), and it did not disappoint.
The pork chop was perfectly grilled—juicy, flavorful, and slightly smoky with that authentic Vietnamese taste. The broken rice was soft and paired so well with the pickled veggies, fresh garnishes, and fish sauce. Every bite felt balanced and comforting, just like a true Vietnamese home-style meal.
Service was friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe was clean and welcoming. If you’re craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine, Renton Bistro is definitely worth a visit. I’ll absolutely be back to try more dishes!“

“I've never had udon before, but this place came highly recommended from a friend who has been to Japan a couple of times. I was not disappointed! The noodles were fresh and delicious; I stuck with the tonkatsu broth I'm familiar with from ramen places, and it was excellent too. I would say don't be afraid to go for the large portion, I came hungry and with that and a couple of (sides? toppings?) like the zucchini and the potato croquette I was in dining heaven. I want to go back as soon as I can!“
