“An absolute favorite that I am sure to visit on every trip to the Bay. Very unique fusions of Indian and Californian flavors with something for every palate. My favorites are the sesame leaf, burrata kulcha, house salad and dry boat scallops. Also don’t sleep on the cocktails. Very nicely crafted.“
“A lovely meal. The chef is super creative in the use of vegetables and original sauces. Nice selection of wines by the glass, which our server was happy to let me taste before ordering. Highly recommend the cauliflower starter and the chickpea risotto, which were quite exceptional. The baked cod however was a bit too salty. And we needed to order some bread to cleanse our palate afterwards. They did offer to remake the fish which was thoughtful, but it would have interrupted the flow of our dinner at that stage. That said, it was a great experience overall. And don't skip the s'mores desert!“
“Found this place to eat by our hotel at the airport in San Francisco last night. Highly recommend everyone to go there if you want a great spot for dinner. Our server Katrina was amazing. She was so attentive and knowledgeable. The food was a combination of all different types of food around Italy. She told us the menu is always changing depending on seasonal ingredients. The wine is all Italian as well and the chef is from northern Italy we were told. The atmosphere was amazing. Great vibe in there and it was packed on a Wednesday night. We loved everything we tried especially the bone marrow, beet salad, tagliatelle, pizza and especially the sheep ricotta doughnuts. I would definitely go back. Probably the best service I have had in Bay Area as well.“
“We had the most delicious meal last night at Protégé. Each course of the tasting menu was perfection. At the end we couldn't choose a favorite because they were all equally incredible. Our server, Fleur, was so knowledgeable about the food and the wine and gave us wonderful recommendations for the perfect wines to compliment the various courses. The whole experience was wonderful and I can't wait to go back sometime.Dietary restrictions: They made sure they were aware of all of my dietary restrictions and ensured the food I was served was safe for me to eat by making small adjustments when needed.“
“Absolutely amazing experience. From the time we checked in for our reservation, service was very kind and thoughtful and everyone wanted to make sure we had the best time. Stunning dining spaces. Every corner beautifully designed making for an elevated experience. Depending on which spot you pick, you can be sure it will be a distinct experience. Food was stellar and our waiter was absolutely lovely, checking in on us and giving us excellent recommendations. It's been a while since a place swept me off my feet like Sekoya did! Can't wait to come back!“
“We found this place roughly a month ago, and the owner and head chef named Josh is arguably one of the best steps I've ever met, I come from chefs background used to be a corporate chef years ago, and the food and quality of service at this location is arguably the best I've ever dealt with, including French laundry. I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who is interested in an outstanding service, outstanding food and outstanding ambience. We will definitely continue to go back to this location as many times as we can.“
“Creative plant based restaurant with good service. Conveniently located in a shopping center. My wife & I have had the polenta cakes, mezze plate, green forest flatbread, potato flatbread, butternut squash ravioli, lentil shepherd's pie, spicy yellow curry, risotto primavera, warm chocolate cake, coconut Panna Cotta, cookie, beet soda, & cucumber basil shrub soda. The good has always been great. We've had other items at their San Francisco location as well. Updated from previous review on 2022-04-05“
“We ate at La Viga Seafood & Cocina Mexicana. It was nice. I thought it would be a bit fancier because I saw it recommended somewhere. The seafood dish with different kinds was really good, especially the shrimp. The tacos cost $6 each, which seemed a lot, but they tasted great. The chips were the best part—they were not greasy and very crunchy. They gave us two kinds of sauce; the green one was the best. The cold beer was also really good with the food. Even though I expected something a bit different, we liked it a lot and want to go back to try more dishes.“
“As usual, Flea St takes all the best parts of the farm-to-table method, stays true to the mission without a lot of self-congratulatory stuff, then adds real attentive service and care to every detail such that you feel like they've been just waiting to have you as a guest. The team is warm, professional and skilled - such a joy to have this gem available to us all.“
“First time yesterday for a casual date night. Reservation was a bit hard to secure, but once booked, we were followed up on multiple times to know our ETA. When we arrived on a busy Saturday night, we were whisked back immediately to our desired corner window table. We knew what we wanted beforehand and was happy the items were not “sold out” (happened more times than you think it’s possible). For appetizer, we split the Black Truffle Soup in two, and it was a good thing we did it since the amount was just right, more so as we planned to have the Dry Aged Ribeye as the entree. The ribeye (we both had it medium rare) was one of the very best I’ve had in recent times (and I’ve been to quite a few expensive restaurants in SF over the last 6 months) - it was flavorful, juicy and well marbled, perfectly complemented by the Bordelaise sauce.I will definitely come back here again, just for the Ribeye!“
“A very cool, hidden gem in downtown San Mateo. Follow the white rabbit downstairs and you’ll find the entrance to the bar behind the book case. Wide selection of craft cocktails that are delicious, although it takes some time for them to make each drink. Reservations only through Tock.“
“Ambiance is arty, comfortable and lovely. Menu had great choices and the 3 of us were so pleased with our choices. I brought home the leftovers and they were just as delicious the next day. We had the mushrooms, Brussels sprouts, shrimp and the crab ‘taco'. The winter sangria was delicious and full body with rich red wine and port YUM just right for this time of year!“
“Six stars! After greeting us, our waiter asked if we had any allergies--so appreciated since I have celiac. He told me they are careful about cross-contamination, don't use shared friers, and can make most things on the menu gluten free (menu is well-marked, too). Our tastey food and drinks came out almost immediately, and we weren't sitting around forever waiting to pay when we were ready. The whole staff was cheerful, the space had cool decorations, and the interior was naturally lit. Such a nice date brunch spot.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan marked on the menu, plenty of optionsDietary restrictions: Gluten free marked on the menu, plenty of options, celiac friendly kitchen practices“
“What's not to like? The view of the gorgeous golf course? The ample ample and delicious food? The great waitress, Shirley? We love the patio, but it was a cold winter day, so we enjoyed a great indoor window seat. We will probably never take up golf, but who cares?“
“You drive into a very quiet parking lot with ample parking spaces. You begin to question whether you are in the correct area… then you walk into the restaurant and realize you have walked into the right place. On a Friday night you enter the most exciting place in Burlingame! The music is live and the drinks are served…. The food is great and the service is fantastic. Be sure to go only if you want to enjoy yourself, especially on a Friday night!“
“We had a phenomenal waiter. I asked about gluten free options since the menu was not marked, and he took me through the menu to explain what could and could not be safely prepared without cross contamination. Unfortunately, not many safe options! There are very few gluten-containing items, but they spoil most of the menu for me due to a shared fryer - so no homemade tortilla chips for me! The cocktails were great, the atmosphere was very pleasant, and the staff were friendly. I just wish they would modify kitchen practices to be more celiac friendly.Dietary restrictions: Minimal truly gluten free items due to cross contamination“
“My Dad grew up in the South, so this food (down to the bottle of Crystal hot sauce) is what I grew up with. Now that he's passed, I turn to this place when I'm in need of a little comfort food. It's traditional Creole cuisine, but elevated with top quality ingredients and precision preparation.Vegetarian options: Wild Mushroom Jambalaya, cornbread muffins, hush puppiesDietary restrictions: Lots of GF options“
“Good for happy hour, cozy and not crowded on a weekday for co-worker meetup. Menu isn't huge though, and salad wasn't very exciting, small, but my friends who got burgers and other less health-conscious items were happy. I appreciate the ease of parking, small shopping area right across from Safeway, and easy access off of the 92/280 junction. Good adult hangout, not for kids, dark inside.“
“While we were finishing dinner i was making another reservation to bring friends from out of town later in the week - that's how much I liked my first visit to Twelvemonth. After sharing a starter and a dessert and each enjoying a main course and their incredibly good bread, we were comfortably fed. We would happily order the carrot curry and the pasta with winter squash and pepper sauce again. I'm a fan of fried mushrooms, and I think the fried maitake were the best i've ever eaten. We nearly skipped dessert but i'm so glad we didn't. We shared the sticky toffee pudding, which was more of a loaf cake and not all that sticky, but the flavor of the dish (with optional soft serve) was sublime. Menu includes a thoughtful selection of non-alcoholic cocktails. The smoky, slightly bitter Mas O Menos with grapefruit and rosemary was perfect for someone who doesn't care for sweet cocktails. Pleasant, skillful service. The crowd was all adults, couples and groups of friends. I saw no children in the dining room at 7:30 on a Saturday and no children's menu. Which is not to say children wouldn't be welcome but I think only the adventuresome eaters would be comfortable.“
“Stopped in yesterday for the first time. There was barely anyone there and it felt like our server neglected us. Our food and drinks came out promptly but she never came by to see how everything was or if we wanted to order more drinks. She was standing at the bar talking to another worker for quite some time while we waited and waited. Ended up stopping another server going by to grab her for us. Otherwise, the food and drink flights we had were pretty good. I would still go back again.“
“We’ve been coming to this restaurant for years, and it never fails to impress. The delicious Thai cuisine is a culinary delight, and the staff's kindness enhances the overall experience. The yellow curry is my absolute favorite – a flavorful masterpiece. Five stars without a doubt!“
“Bucky''s is a great bar that serves reasonably priced drinks. I usually go a couple Tuesday nights a month and enjoy the service there from Meagen. Bucky's also has an back patio that's great if you want to enjoy your drink with some fresh air. If you are looking for a low key atmosphere and a good time, Bucky's could be the right spot for you.“
“What a vibe, great drinks! The bartenders are QUALITY... They are very attentive and quick to push out quality drinks. The place was not really crowded due to the rain but the patrons were diverse and respectful. One thing I did notice was that despite being able to work efficiently, the bar did cycle through workers often. Would begin socializing with the group and then look to the bar, new bartenders. Talk more, look back and it was back to original with maybe some new faces or mix of them. There was one bartender guy that looked like a model or belonged on one of those Netflix dating shows. Tipped him twice as much because... why not? The drinks were unique! There was a matcha martini that was really good. The after taste had a nice matcha aroma and the mezcal drink, campfire something. Those two were the ones I asked for and both delivered in terms of taste, visual appeal, and price. Did not get to try the food since we arrived pretty late. However, would be cool to come back soon to!“
“Great atmosphere, food and the best Rüdesheimer kaffee, Silvia prepares most of the ingredients from scratch and let me say it is by far the best kaffee I have ever had. Love sitting at the bar, and watch her create this amazing drink!!! Will be back soon!“
“we had a delicious dinner with two couples. the food was excellent and they had a variety of dishes to satisfy every palate. I dined on the cornish game hen and had a butter leaf leaf salad to start. the Game hen was perfectly cooked. Others at my table had the salmon, casaulette (vegetarian) and the Menlo Burger. All were delicious. we started with Calamari Fritti and a flatbread (pizza). the atmosphere was perfect. we were able to have a conversation while dining, and the service perfect. we will be back.“
“Was there while they were hosting a wedding party. Somehow still have very great and attentive service. My GF is vegan, and the staff was helpful in making sure she had some options, ever adjusting the wagyu chowmain dish I ordered so that she could enjoy it (meat on the side).Veggies were amazing. Very different flavors. We had the string beans and the coli flower.Tea was great. The star or the night were their sipping sauces. They say they make them all in house. Cilantro sauce was the best, but they also have coconut + ginger, soy sauce, and of course chili oil.Dim sum was great as well.Ambiance was nice also.Vegetarian options: Lots of veggies clearly labeled vegetarian. I believe most of their vegetarian dishes are actually vegan as well. Great flavor. They also are willing to adjust dishes to fit dietary restrictions.“
“I have to write a review about this place as soon as I finish my dish. The food is sooooo gooood and the taste of every dishes that I ordered is exactly like in Vietnam. It makes my day because it has been long time since I can eat my favorite food that has the same Vietnamese taste. The staffs and service are great. The price is cheap with great portion. 11/10 “
“From the service, to wait time, to food. This place is top notch. Best dumplings I’ve had in the Bay Area and yes I have tried a lot. I’m not getting paid for this review although I wish I was. Really good dumplings, try them out and get the chili “
“Fast, friendly, attentive service. Really delicious food. Just look at the layers in the biscuits! The fresh cinnamon rolls are perfectly sweet with just a hint of tang from the frosting. The croque madame was good, but cubano was a better fit for our meal.“
“My friend and I had dinner at Twelvemonth last night and it was an amazing experience! There are several parking lots in the downtown area, as well as street parking. The theming and decor here is so cute and would be great for a date night! We sat inside next to a big tree, and the whole vibe inside was amazing and felt upscale. I can't wait to come back here during the warmer weather and sit outside! They also have a bakehouse around the corner, but I don't believe it was open when we went around dinnertime. Everything here is vegan, and although I'm not vegan, I truly did not miss the meat at all and thought all of the food we tried was flavorful and delicious! We started with the crispy maitake mushrooms, which were so chewy, crispy, and flavorful! They had hot nash seasoning, pickles, and whipped ranch, and they came with a delicious dipping sauce which was equally as yummy. I had the Winter Chopped Salad as my entree, but I asked for feta instead of the blue cheese. It was such a delicious salad that I'd definitely order again, but I'd probably pair it with another entree, as I was still a little hungry afterwards. I also had the Windfall mocktail which was refreshing and light! I really enjoyed it. My friend ordered the spaghetti and a glass of wine and enjoyed them both! The servers were very attentive and our water glasses were never empty. They also answered any questions we had and were very friendly! Side note- the restrooms are also so cool here! I recommend checking them out! (I didn't take any pictures but they are so cute and very clean!) I never though I'd drive out of my way to go to a vegan resturant, but I'd do it again! I can't wait for my next visit to Twelvemonth!“
“A pure dive bar to its soul. I came here on a Friday night, and Dog House has everything you want in a dive. Chill vibe and bartenders, good drink prices, and an including a variety of shot+beer combo options.I asked for “a Jameson and a beer”, getting a Budweiser and a very generous pour of Jamo for $10. Hope to grab a drink here next time I’m in the area“
“I can't believe I've never visited F&S in the past 6 years living in San Carlos. I must've walked by it thousands of times by now but never did it cross my mind to step in. What a wonderful cocktail bar.Classy interior. Good selection of hard liquor. Very chill. And apparently live music on Thu/Fri/Sat.I happened to stop by on a weekday (Monday) so understandably the bar was quite empty but I could easy imagine a great happening location.I wish the prices were a bit cheaper though... but understandably Bay Area.Parking: Use the parking lots for Laurel St. Street in front is blocked away and the limited slots are impossible to get.“
“The wait staff was fabulous and the fish tacos were awesome. Just spicy enough. My waitress was helpful and pleasant and knew when I needed something. Fish Tacos were delicious and had a wonderful spicy bite. I had black beans substituted for the re-fried beans and those were very tasty. The rice tasted freshly made. The atmosphere was cozy and quiet. Very nice.“
“Extreme friendly neighborhood bar. People here are modest and very friendly. The first day they paid for my beer, the second time they invited me to play a pool. Bartender is very responsive and friendly. If you're living in the neighborhood or a visitor, you must visit to feel true American spirit there.“
“Without a doubt the best Bloody Mary we've ever had. Took my girlfriend to brunch near here a few months ago on a Sunday and we decided to pop in. The crowd was filled with laid back boozers watching football. I forgot the bartenders name but he was a big dude with a beard. He was great. I don't know how he makes his bloody Mary's but they were great! I think my girlfriend thought he was cute too but I thought he was like a 4, but his Bloody Mary's were a 10! We definitely be back here again.“
“What a great local bar. The girl behind the bar was fantastic good personality chatting with some of the locals. There was also a gentleman behind the bar as things started to get busy he backed her up, he was also very approachable. These guys know how to read a room. I will definitely be back.Parking: Little tricky to find parking close to the bar but if you continue to go around the block you can park on the street about a block or so away.“
“Lovely experience with the Alice in Wonderland Tea! We had the Earl Grey Oolong tea, which was mildly disappointing (very little flavor), but the pastries more than made up for it! Three tea sandwiches, a perfectly baked blueberry scone, and three tiers of cakes and sweets. The best part was the setting, though. The place is covered flowers and beautifully decorated.“
“One of the best places for outdoor brunch on the peninsula. Their champagne mimosas are good with generous portions. I wish they offered more for vegetarians with some Beyond burger or Impossible meat-based dishes. I do really miss their scones which they stopped serving some years ago. They were just such a delight and they are sadly missed.“
“I stopped by to help a friend close. Definitely a cool vibe. Gives you a cheers, dive vibe, yet don't need a tetanus shot after being there. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a spot to relax watch a game, play pool, have a drink or “
“A great spot to stop in and enjoy some craft cocktails. The menu is very artfully crafted and everything was tasty. The ambiance is very chill and the service was wonderful. The highlight of the night was our bartender Christian. He created not just great drinks, but even better times.“
“The food was delicious, the fries were very crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside, the seasoning wasn't too salty either. I came here at 5:15 to try their tacos, but unfortunately they don't start serving tacos until 6:30pm. The burger was delicious and very filling, I only ate half and didn't finish the fries either. The food was ready within 10 minutes as it wasn't busy at all in the dining area. There is a jukebox which people were playing music on, so that was fun. The staff were friendly too.“
“This review is long overdue. Scotty's is truly a neighborhood gem. The owner Scotty is a thoughtful person that cares about creating an experience where customers are safe, and are able to enjoy their time. The Bartender staff is also warm and creates a hospitable customer service experience. The real reason I frequent this place is for the wings. Unmatched. If you want a nice neighborhood vibe, with good food and drinks, this is the spot. Lots of bars in the area, but none of them compare to the experience you get coming here.“
“Penny for my thoughts you say. Well, Honesty is the best policy. They say if someone breaks your trust shame on them but if they break it again shame on me... but when it comes to bars I always say go to a bar when they're busy, then go when they're soft, and then go when I'm drunk, then you can write you're review. -been coming here for years and I must say longest relationship I've had besides work. They make tasty beverages, the place is nice and if you're good you' will fit right in. Local boy showing you my review for this place and it's been high time. Geez, their gonna tackle me when they see me, hopefully they don't see this, might go into hiding. Tastefully arranged vinyl like ambience all the way to the barkeepers crafting cocktails on Carrera marble, balanced out by their unique perspectives and life stories. Hernan is a heavy duty dude with a big heart, divine Darcy calm collected, wiseman Matthew truly pioneering a music repertoire, or Marvin and Sam being the absolute devil's pride and joy. I can not imagine anyone not being attracted and impressed with these guys. F this is long. I'll write a book next time. Cheers.“
“This is a fun spot to get together with friends after a day at the corporate office and hang out at the social office! They've got a good menu and large selection of beer. You can sit down and start a tab on trivia nights (Monday 7p). There's a heated by fire pit outdoor space or some tables inside or at the bar. Parking is street and the staff is friendly but don't expect too much chitchat. They're often busy!“
“This was another adventure for dinner thanks to a Yelp search. I didn't realize the menu concept, or I missed it while checking out the menu online. But, I am glad that it all worked out.Visiting Belmont, we decided to choose this restaurant. I loved that they had hot dogs, sausages, and hamburgers. I am not vegetarian, but there were quite a few options for those who are not meat eaters. As we entered, I heard talking, laughter and the football game. The person who took our order shared with me his suggestions and I went for them. I had the chili cheese tots and the Holy Aoli burger. Didn't realize that all burgers are sliders. My burger was actually 4 sliders! One patty with 4 Hawaiian rolls as buns...yum. I asked for extra green onions on my chili tots, which were plentiful. My mother in love ordered their special Thanksgiving sausage, and my husband had the Reservoir Hog. I yell you, the menu is unique as it is good. Who would have thought that no hormone or antibiotic added meats could be reasonable priced and tasty. I appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and our ability to grab our own condiments, too.“
