“This place makes the absolute BEST Fougasse! It is olive-y the duck fat it’s made with makes it, crisp, light, and perfectly moist. The crusty outside is lightly salted to perfection. Their pastries are also exquisite, I haven’t had anything I didn’t like, but I ALWAYS come for the Fougasse! Best to get there early when they are nice and fresh and warm and before they sell out!“

“You enter through a walkway full of displays. Then a beautiful patio, up a ramp where you can grab a menu and wait in line. You place your order at the register and get a number. We found a table, grabbed ourselves water and waited for food to come out as its made. Luckily we were sharing plates so it didn’t matter how long between dishes.“

“I enjoy this restaurant very much. The food is excellent and fresh. it’s served hot every time. The servers can speed up with taking orders but otherwise, they are o.k. The restaurant is ok. The seating is too close for me but I get it. There’s No parking. It’s excellent.“

“This is basically right across the street from the Trader Joe’s on university. I admittedly don’t eat ramen often so I don’t have much to compare it to, so this is genuinely some of the best noodle-soup-dish I’ve ever head. The broth is rich but not heavy, the ramen noodles are thin and firm, and the toppings are also excellently seasoned.

This also seems to be more fusion-based so there’s a lot of Hawaiian and some Korean options too. They have rice plates too.

The portions are enormous. I always either take half of my dish home for the next day or walk out fighting for my life because of how full I am, which I can’t say for most Berkeley spots. I would say the prices are on par with Bay Area prices, but the portions are generous. The bowl is basically the size of your head, and the rice plates looks more like a party platter.

“I went at 8:10PM (20 minutes before closing), and they treated me so kindly and let me stay and eat past the closing time. I had a great experience because not only was the food delicious, so was the service, ambiance, and treatment. The food is 100% made with love and you can taste it.“

“An excellent restaurant. As a South Indian, thayir sadam is a comfort dish you grow up eating, but rarely get outside the house. For a very affordable $10, I got a sizable portion of thayir sadam that took me back to my childhood days. I got thayir sadam (yogurt + rice) with paneer, pickle, cucumbers, carrots, and spiced peanuts, and it was INCREDIBLY refreshing and tasty. I spoke with the owner as well, and he is a very nice gentleman. Highly recommend this restaurant for those who love thayir sadam, and those who have yet to try this South Indian staple!“

“Our tennis group of 15 (booked for 11) arrived for happy hour on a Tuesday and La Marcha did a superb job handling all of us. The food, as always, was first class excellent, as is the wine. The service was spot on, especially given our large group. And they served us cheerfully. Many in our group had not been before and all agreed that they would return. “Yesterday I had the pleasure of walking into this family owned establishment, The environment was clean, and the people were very kind. The menu was exceptional with great prices. I got the chicken Marcella, the naan, and the salmon which was the daily special. The chicken Masala was perfectly spiced. I got the mild because I can't eat spicy food. I dipped the naan in it and it tasted perfect. The naan was big and fresh and its own separate bag, so I was able to take it home and munch on it later now the salmon was delicious. It was super crispy and juicy on the inside, and the seasoning was complementary to the fish. it was wonderful to be able to talk to the Chef and get to know the people that cooked my food. The chef that's been working there. He's on the establishment for a while and he's been cooking for over 40 years. He also told me that he is from New York, which definitely shows in his food because this Indian Pakistani restaurant is definitely authentic. I will drive an hour and a half to come back here again. Definitely would recommend them for Catering or a nice dinner date.“

“Outstanding pizza, amazing crust on both the New York and Detroit style pizza. Detroit style pizza can be a gut bomb, but they managed to have a very light airy inside along with the crunchy crust that you expect from this style pizza. And I wasn’t drinking water for hours afterwards because of any excess salt issues from the sauce or the ingredients. Will come back again to try the Grandma and the Sicilian style and maybe bring bigger group so we can order more pizzas to try“

“My dinner partner and I both agree that the physical atmosphere, and food were excellent. The place was almost empty on a Sunday night yet the service was mediocre. We had to keep tracking down the waiter for our hot water for the tea, box for take away, etc. Inattentive. The staff also seemed unhappy or dissatisfied with their jobs. The prices have gone up so don’t feel we got value for our money“

Highly highly recommend the Tomato Omelette soup. Every dip was soothing and flavorful!
The oil spilling noodles were unique but could have had more veggies. Note that it’s also a little spicy.

“Pollos is a great place for a good breakfast/brunch. There's never a long line because it's not a fancy brunch place. You get to sit down immediately instead of waiting an hour

“*Fyi before leaving a review I do try places 2 times prior to making a review* Love the noodle soup here. Everytime I am in Berkely I always stop here hungry or not. Its a small hole in the wall restaurant with very small tables that are cramped together. Its a nice place but the lack of room takes away from it. Wait times vary depending on what time you get there. Also, customers are very close by, standing in line staring at their phones or at you wating their turn to finally sit down. You order and pay on a tablet once seated. After trying almost everything on the menu, my go to is just the Beef noodle soup, spicy broth and thick noodles. It does not lack flavor and is never overly salty. The beef is always tender and noodles have the right amount of chew and taste fresh. On the side, the house wontons in chili sauce. A little salty and not really spicy in my opinion but flavorful with a good chew from the dough. Can be a little loud but once your food arrives I have noticed people stop talking to their companions and just eat. Good sign. This place is has always consistently good.“
