You start with bites in a garden courtyard, move indoors to an open kitchen for mains, and finish by the fire pit with tea. Warm wood tones and a subtle Japanese aesthetic make the whole experience feel calm and intentional.

This menu centered around flowers, with floral elements in almost every dish.
Compared to traditional French fine dining, Lilo is noticeably lighter—more seafood, cleaner flavors, and slightly acidic seasoning instead of heavy, rich profiles. Very well suited for spring/summer.
Overall Thoughts
A refined, thoughtfully curated tasting menu with strong atmosphere and clear identity.
Within Michelin-level dining, it stands out for being light, seasonal, and restrained rather than heavy.

“It’s our annual place to be every August for the last 17 years: celebrating 50 years of marriage! The food, service and atmosphere right on the beach is heavenly. Our bartender Steve congratulated us and we talked for a short time. Everyone is so friendly, can’t beat the quality of their meals ! We drive out from Phoenix to have their specialty. Well worth the ride❤️❤️❤️“

“I came in on a busy Wednesday night. My server, Brendan, was incredible. Great personality, very charming, and the way his pants fit him blew my mind. Made me wish I was young again watching him walk around the restaurant. The food was delicious and watching him worked up my appetite. I had two amazing prime rib dinners back to back but I would not, could not, take my eyes off of Brendan’s tight pants. He told me he would see me next Wednesday night, I will be there!“

“We live in Philly & love Richard Blais so when visiting my brother in San Diego we always have to check out any new spots by Chef Blais. We were so happy our trip last week included California English! Right away the decor & atmosphere draw you in, being both chic & comfortable. “My wife ordered the salmon and the puréed potatoes. I ordered the boneless aged ribeye and the beet salad. Both were outstanding....But that was about the food. Let me tell you about the experience. I do very well in life, all praise to God, and I eat at the best steakhouses wherever I go. Coast to coast and Europe. I've been to all the so-called “best rated/reviewed” steakhouses, that have the best variety of steaks and other goodies. That have the best reputations and the fanciest decor and all that fluff and stuff. But NONE are operationally perfect with their kitchen execution. Every single steakhouse I've been to there's always one slip up somewhere... And, I'm very picky on the way I like my steak. I like Pittsburgh “plus” generally. I ordered a boneless ribeye from Ember and Rye, and it came out medium unfortunately. I wasn't very happy since my wife's salmon came out perfect and she was able to be an eating and I wasn't. But! In life I'm not about mistakes, it's all about the recovery from them. The second steak was brought out and let me tell you, it might've been the best Pittsburgh plus steak I've ever had in my life. Also, they cooked these steaks on a true Santa Maria grill. If you're not familiar with that style of cooking over embers, often times that style grilling does not get the best sear. Even though it gets a good cook throughout the steak, I like a nice char as well. This Chef was absolutely perfect on the second steak. Charred perfectly and the inside was warm red. Not overly medium. Absolutely perfect steak. So when you go out of town and you're going out to dinner for a nice steak and you have expectations that are high. Every once in a while, you'll get a disappointment. And it's not so much about that as it is about the recovery of the restaurant. And then the customer service that follows. They actually took my steak off of my bill. I did not expect that. And they didn't have to do that. Yes it is an inconvenience when you're not“

“The hotel suggested I go to Fish District for good local seafood. They were spot on. I ordered the Combo Box which came with fish shrimp and fries. Not only is the batter good enough to make you get every bit, but the homemade sauces were perfect. If you don't eat shrimp tails, you will gnawl the batter off like a dog chews a bone. The staff was friendly and helped this first-timer with his order. I will definitely be back to try more from their menu.“

Husband got the surf and turf which came with a generous portion of filet a lobster four or five shrimp and veggies. I got the appetizer shrimp barsac, which I didn't like and sent it back because it was not peeled properly so I just ate off my husband's plate and it was really good“

“Dog friendly with outside seating. We ordered two EPIC hot lobster rolls (Connecticut style, warm with butter) and although they were delicious, for the EPIC PRICE OF $39 PER ROLL, it was very skimpy compared to what you get for that price in New England. They stack it high in the middle and don’t fill the bun to the ends to make it look super full. It’s not. The New England clam chowder was great though.“

“Ther interior is beautifully designed. Great spot for date night. I had the filet mignon with salad and soup. Perfect portion and tasted great. Only complaint is the size of the restrooms inside the restaurant. For as many people that can be hosted at this location, there was a wait for the restroom. Outside of that, beautifully designed, staff is amazing and food is excellent. Highly recommend recommended.“

decided to come here on a whim with some friends as a post finals mini adventure and boy did we make the right choice
there was not a customer in sight but we made our way to the ordering counter and were met with the most personable server we’ve ever had at a poke place, or any restaurant for that matter! he was so nice, offering samples (which i’ve never experienced at a poke place) and suggestions, and would throw in some fun comments to our choices (often apologizing for talking too much but no worries at all😆)
onto the food, they have a few unique poke marinades here! the standouts for us were the sichuan peppercorn tuna- it was almost candied with an interesting texture, kinda like a gummy or beef tendon in the best possible way- as well as the spicy kimchi salmon and scallops! the coconut curry poke has potential, but it’s not quite there yet (maybe try searing the fish and adding ginger or something acidic/spicy?) he also really loaded up our bowls, even giving my friend an extra scoop of salmon because he thought “it didn’t look large enough” even tho he definitely gave the right amount of protein. all the toppings were included in the base price (good value for any amount of scoops) including avocado and imitation crab which usually costs extra at other places.

“We had an amazing stay at L'Auberge Del Mar. The hotel was stunning—beautifully updated with modern finishes and stylish furnishings. Our room was exceptional, featuring an incredibly comfortable bed, luxurious bedding, a marble bathroom, and a breathtaking ocean view from the balcony. The hot tub was a perfect temperature for the cool May evening. On Saturday night, there was a gorgeous wedding on the rooftop, and we enjoyed listening to the music from the hot tub. It wrapped up around 10:30 p.m., allowing for a peaceful and restful night’s sleep. The staff was extremely courteous, and the valet service was top-notch. We will absolutely return to this beautiful hotel and highly recommend it to anyone considering a stay—don’t hesitate to book your room!“

South of Nick’s is an upscale Mexican dining experience with amazing food, a top-tier cocktail program, and a great atmosphere. Tia was our server and she was outstanding, anticipating everything we needed and making our early dinner effortless. We sat outside for the fresh California air and even though it was a little chilly, the radiant heaters kept it warm and cozy. The bar is fully stocked with a tequila selection that’s second to none, and my margarita was perfectly balanced. I had the Combo Tres Enchiladas and it was excellent, and others loved the Cabo shrimp. We also shared the chips with black bean dip, guacamole, taquitos, and tacos — everything fresh and packed with flavor. I also loved the kitchen windows where you can see how clean and dialed-in the team is behind the scenes. Parking is easy in the automated garage, but I’d recommend going early — and next time I’m grabbing the fire pit seating and working through more of the drink menu.“
