“Absolutely amazing! This is the spot I’ve been taking everyone. Place inside is kinda small but super cozy and cute. You order at the kiosk and it’s super easy/convenient. They make the food in the front and it definitely adds a personalized touch. My favorites are the seared salmon and unagi yubu! They look small but 3 of them is the perfect amount for meal for me
Dietary restrictions: They prepare the food by the kiosk and you can ask them any questions directly“

“I visited this sushi place for the first time, after eating at another not pleasant sushi place.
The sushi rolls were tasty and fresh.
Service was outstanding with special thanks to Emanuel, who made our visit more enjoyable.
Definitely I will recommend to visit this place in Huntington Beach, CA.“

“Self select poké is an interesting experience to say the least. In the past it has been select menus, choose a combo we have, and do you want masago and sesame seeds on top. Not so here, build your own style. You want chili oil and ponzu because that’s your roll, then it’s what you get. I’ve never experienced poké like this before, and now I only want poke with the individual touch. The staff was kind as well.
Parking: The spots directly in front are 20 minute, other parking wasn’t an issue on a Monday at 7pm.“

“Casual to slightly upscale sushi. Cocktails were unique as well as the higher end rolls. The soft shell crab was a disappointment, just a small fried crab, cut in 2 on a plate, $18. Snowflake roll, crispy spicy tuna and Yuzu cocktail were really good. Atmosphere could use some work, a little too casual for the price.“

“We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The server was kind and very helpful. We each ordered the 5 roll set and the fried scallops. Our favorite roll was the eel, and the fried scallops were also delicious. We highly recommend the 5 roll set; it's a great value.“

“Good quality, cant complain about anything I ordered. The price is average for a sushi restaurant and it's a small cozy spot. There's booth seating and they give kids the chopstick helper which is nice. My favorite was the tiger roll. The deal here is 50% off sushi which makes the 2 piece sushi about $4.50.“

“Came from the bar next door for a late night snack & it was perfect. Delicious sushi, awesome service. I was just expecting a quick bite before heading home and ended up treating myself to the best sushi I’ve had in a long time. Very happy to have found my new spot & on the night the Dodgers clinched the World Series! Win win win of a night. Got bluefin, yellowtail, albacore, & mackerel. All 10/10.“

“I’ve tried out a lot of Omakase in LA and San Shi Go is def my favorite! The food quality is top-notch; you can never go wrong with whatever sake on the menu. Besides the most common Omakase pieces including Otoro, Uni, etc., I especially love love love the deep-dried shrimp head, Nodoguro, Shimaaji, Managtatsuo, Isaki, Kinmedai, Amadai, and Wagyu sushi. I can’t have enough of it and ended up with 26 pieces sushi (I would’ve had more if it was not already past the store hour?) The staff here is all welcoming. And lastly big shoutout to Yoshisan! He is the BEST!!!!!!“

“This restaurant is a hidden gem! I'm absolutely obsessed and eager to taste their entire menu. The sushi and eel rice I tried today blew my mind as the best Japanese cuisine I've ever encountered in Orange County. And the kicker? It's incredibly wallet-friendly – you're dining on fantastic fare at just $15 a person.“

“Great tonkatsu spot. There was about a 30min wait on Sunday night which wasn’t terrible. The tonkatsu was crunchy and juicy. I have to say, the portion sizes were more than generous. The meal was awesome but we had to mix it up with some non-fried food.“

“This is my favorite sushi spot to regularly visit. While it's not fancy, it's unbeatable for the price. Appetizers and Sushi quality taste far better than most places that are double/triple the price. The server Karen is kind and attentive - my partner and I are always happy to see her! When a mistake has happened (infrequently), they have resolved the issues wonderfully. The bottled beer is also cheap.
Some of my favorites include the baked mussels, kalamari, dragon roll, yellowtail sashimi, fisherman roll, fire in the hole roll. I've tried most appetizers/rolls and have liked everything.
Only requests would be more options for hot sake and beer on draft.“

“Had an excellent lunch here as a work function, and the service and food was just excellent and felt so authentic and high quality. The place does not have any signs so it’s hard to find if you’re not paying attention, and seating is a bit tight but other than that you’re in for a great experience equal to fine dining. My pics are from the omakase offering.“

“Good food, good service, okay atmosphere. Oh and good prices too! This is a local spot for me. I love customizing the spicy tuna roll to include cilantro!
My 2 gripes:
1) The specialty rolls are overloaded with sauces (I don't order anymore)
2) I wish they had a menu for making custom rolls (I always have to ask the server for my custom order)
Having to ask the server is more work and leaves prices/options ambiguous. Leading me to a more simple customization.
Parking: Parking all over.
Kid-friendliness: As kid friendly as sushi gets. It's not a place made for kids, but the atmosphere is conducive to bringing kids along.“

“This place was amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever received such good service in my lifetime at a restaurant! There was one sushi, chef, fair, and he made us feel so special not to mention how fresh the food was. Growing up in New York City, my family us to wonderful restaurants and the best food so we are pretty particular.! I’m so excited that this place just opened in Newport Beach.
Dietary restrictions: I think most restaurants have dietary restrictions if you ask. I actually work in the food, industry, and most people, especially in Southern California are pretty savvy when it comes to food, allergies, and restrictions.“

“Exceptionally excellent. Very impressive dining experience. I’m in town visiting relatives and my cousin has been looking for a place to call his favorite sushi spot - we tried a newer place - which was terrible - they had pictures on the menus, which was the first sign that it wasn’t a serious sushi restaurant. We ordered some maki - tried it - wasn’t good we left. We found Hashigo on google maps. As soon as we sat down at the sushi bar we knew that we came to the right place. Great selection / variety of fish - one easy tell if it’s a good sushi place is if they have either pickled or fresh wasabi. Which Hashigo has pickled. Very fresh fish - we ordered salmon, halibut, mackerel, bluefin, yellow tail … eel, and salmon Kama every bite was amazing - our chef was very personable. Very good knife skills. I’m convinced that a lot of the sushi restaurants in this area have fake reviews or people just don’t have any idea what good sushi tastes like. Eat here and Hashigo will become the place which you will compare the other sushi restaurants around too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ very good overall - this is my cousin’s new favorite sushi spot.

“This is a "must" when we are in Newport Beach! Some of the best sushi around! The Buddha roll is unique and delicious.
The service is always on point.
We love the atmosphere, simple and casual. We like looking at the harbor and the boats.
Parking: It was a busy summer evening and we had no problem with valet parking. Dropping off and retrieving the car was easy and efficient.“

“We loved our dining experience here! A little hole in the wall but so worth it. The sushi, sashimi, & saki were all so delicious. We were going to go to Sushi Dami, but the wait was so long and the atmosphere there was dark and loud. Sushi Bear greeted us with a bright and airy and delightful ambiance for a dinner with friends. Definitely recommend this place and if I ever go back to visit, will be stopping here to eat again.“

“The salmon roll and beef miso soup were good. The salmon seemed very fresh and had a good texture. There was a decent amount of beef in the soup.
The wait staff seemed very eager for us to order and also the clear the table while we were still eating. I think it would be better if they were a little more patient“

“Review:
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this hidden gem of a sushi restaurant, and it was nothing short of an authentic Japanese experience. The sushi chefs here are true masters of their craft. From the moment you sit down, you're greeted with a warm smile and a few jokes that make the entire experience even more enjoyable. It's rare to find such a combination of skill and personality in a sushi bar.
The quality of the food is outstanding. Every piece is meticulously prepared, and the flavors are impeccable. The scallops were incredibly tender, and the tuna belly just melted in my mouth—easily some of the best I've ever had. Even the iced tea was a pleasant surprise, perfectly brewed and refreshing.
The restaurant itself is easily accessible, with plenty of parking available, making it convenient for anyone in the area. This is more than just a place to eat; it’s a true sushi experience that feels both traditional and welcoming. Anyone who appreciates authentic sushi would be lucky to find this spot.
Highly recommended!“

“Hapi has the feel of a small sushi place in Japan. We enjoyed our meal of seaweed salad, edamame and rainbow roll.
Parking: It is likely that parking will be hard to find and a little pricey during the summer months when the art festivals are open. You may want to try parking in a public lot and walking to the restaurant. Better yet, get a ride share into town and use the free shuttles to get around town.“

“The owners of this place are wonderful, it is a Japanese wife and Korean husband ran business. Although a lot has changed over the years since they have opened, the food and quality has always remained consistent, while the menu has expanded to other cuisines. “I recently tried some sushi rolls, and I have to say, they were incredibly fresh and delicious. Every bite felt like a perfect balance of flavors—it's clear they use quality ingredients. Even the packaging was impressive, keeping everything neat and intact, which I really appreciated. However, I couldn’t help but wish the price was just a little lower. Don’t get me wrong, it’s worth it for the quality, but it’d be nice if I didn’t have to think twice before treating myself. Still, I’ll definitely be coming back for more!“
