“Seven Hills opens their kitchen and welcomes you into their home. The truffle pasta is what my boyfriend and I come back for every single time. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and the food is made so fresh. Truly incredible tasty date night spot — book ahead of time for sure as it does get busy. The polpette is a must try as well, the sauce is incredible“
“Cotogna was a superb experience from the minute we walked in. Service is warm and attentive, the food is spectacular. We loved everything we ate. The presentation was beautiful and the ambiance was cozy. We couldn’t ask for more. We were there to celebrate a birthday and it really made our night special to be at Cotogna. Thank you and keep it up!“
“One of the better pizza places in SF. We ordered the spicy grandma pizza (4/5) and the cheese garlic bread (3/5). Just FYI - the garlic bread has full garlic cloves ?.Parking is a bit difficult to find depending on when you go. Also, I don't think they have a reservation system. You just need to add yourself to the wait-list online probably 30 mins before you plan to go there. Really recommend you get added to the wait-list else the wait times can be really long.Although the pizza was a bit expensive, it was tasty and I definitely plan to come back to taste the other items on the menu.Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options to choose from.“
“We had the best time at Sorella! The food was amazing and we left feeling full. The cocktails were perfectly balanced and delicious and the wine recommendations we had paired with our meal so well. Our favorite part about the dinner though was the service! Our waiter was extremely attentive but not over bearing. He was also hilarious which added to the experience! Everyone was so respectful and happy. Truly a great experience- we will be back!“
“We had a great dinner here for our first visit. Emma and staff were great. Food was legit. Price points are very fair. Will be back. One thing. I would love to see a tip line on the credit card receipt. I know there is a service charge included in the bill, but if I have a solid experience, and want to leave a little extra $$, I have that option.“
“Zuni Café, nestled in San Francisco, serves up top-notch dishes in a cozy yet classy setting. The roast chicken here? Unreal. I still dream about its crispy skin and juicy meat. But it's not just about the chicken; their salads burst with flavor, and the pasta dishes hit the spot. Plus, their desserts? Divine. The staff knows their stuff and adds to the experience. If you're in SF and craving a memorable meal, Zuni Café is the spot to hit up.“
“I had a blast here! Some friends and I were visiting for a night in San Fran and heard through the grapevine that Joes was the perfect place to grab a drink at the bar in the evening. The bartenders were super nice and funny and very attentive. Great music and busy atmosphere. Made for a fun “
“One of the most affordable yet delicious pizza in town. Other than simple pizza like pepperoni or combo, they have clam and garlic, which is quite unique. It is a square style pizza so it is a quick thick and filling. Well, if you are hungry, please get two! The staff is quick and attentive as well.“
“I’m up at 4 am, no clue why and I’m hungry. I scroll through photos of my recent trip to Italy and get hungrier. Then I randomly recall this amazing ragu I had at AltoVino. Such is the rabbit hole of my brain today.I first stumbled upon this place a few years back when my gf and I were randomly walking down this street after exploring Chinatown. Looked good, half empty, so we sat down outside for what was an amazing meal. I recall thinking “holy s***, what is this place and why is it here and why is it so good and why is it…. So good?” Since then we’ve been a few times more, and each time was equally amazing. For me what I find particularly fascinating about this place is its own unique balance across its often refreshed menu. It’s an intelligently restrained yet creative balance of tradition and new “California” flair. One dish may stick rather close to a traditional Amatriciana while another consists of an intriguing mixture of ingredients that just simply makes sense once tasted. There’s something for everyone and everything is excellent. It speaks to the experience and refined palate of the owners. All paired with a fantastic wine menu, your meals will be memorable here each time.I’ve recommended this place to anyone that has asked me, “what are some top places to eat in SF?” And I swear on baby Jesus that AltoVino has come out of my mouth within the first 3 places I mention, each time. And to this day, well I suppose to this late morning - I still don’t know why this place isn’t booked out every single evening. It’s bizarre. So ignore reviews that say “we weren’t satisfied because we were still hungry afterwards.” Which, is one of the dumbest reasons for mediocre reviews because, what, a restaurant is supposed to figure out or cater to your appetite? Ignore reviews that say “oh this place wasn’t authentic.” Hmm what sort of authentic were you looking for? What is authentic at the end of day?Because if authentic is a menu honoring its ingredients, staying true to the local spirit while paying generous and fantastic homage to the cuisine’s roots, then this is one such place.Ok back to sleep.“
“This was a celebration of International Women's Day for a group of close neighbors, some of whom had not experienced Corso before. The hostess greeting was perfection, as was Vito, our server, Michael our expeditor, and the food was superb❣️ The perfect evening for gratitude to our Women!“
“We kind of ended up here on a fluke and with empty stomachs. We weren't into the experience just wanted the food. Our server, Toni, was accommodating about all of our reasonable ( and less reasonable) requests. We sat in a corner quite close to our neighbors but it wasn't too bad. The sound quality in their space makes it so you don't get bombarded but a lot of loud clanging. It's pretty upscale and the food is Michelin level amazing but also has a chill vibe.Goes without saying, we will certainly be back.Vegetarian options: The veggie options are just as amazing as the non. They are also good about accommodating veggie diets in any part of the menu.We got the peshe- Chilean Sea Bass which was so on point. As we are pescaterian“
“Just happened to stumble into this wonderful restaurant on a rainy holiday Sunday evening and couldn't have had a better experience. Our reservation at Original Joe's was getting bumped out 30-45 minutes so we bailed. Lucky us. It was too loud to even talk at Original Joe's. We'll be returning to Trattoria Contradina in the future.Dietary restrictions: They did have some gluten-free options. Yea.“
“Food was delicious. We had the beet and blackberry salad. Very generous portion of beets and not overdressed. The brussels sprouts were fried to perfection and not at all oily. The mushroom pizza was crisp and very mushroom forward. The server was knowledgeable, helpful and attentive without being too present. We will be back!“
“The owners treated us like we were family! Service was impeccable! Food was cooked to perfection. Big portions, we both had left overs for another meal! Prices are more than reasonable!Dietary restrictions: They were wonderful accommodating my Celiac!“
“Pinsa Rossa is absolutely amazing! Their appetizers, salads, and, of course, the pinsas with their crunchy, flavorful crusts are all top-notch. Ken and his team have done an incredible job creating a dining experience that’s simply outstanding!Dietary restrictions: My daughter, a brand new lactating mom who can’t consume lactose products, asked for a pinsa with vegan cheese, and we couldn’t tell the difference, it was great!Parking: There’s parking available half a block away from the place.“
“I visited last week for dinner with my family. We didn't make a reservation and arrived around 6pm. We got seating in the back, which was an outdoor area. Right away they told us there were reservations so we would only be able to eat till around 7:15ish, which was totally okay. The back area was very cute, and extremely warm with the heater. For the food, we got 2 pizzas - honey pepperoni and the one with mushrooms. They were both good, but the crust was the best part. And the honey pepperoni said spicy on the menu but wasn't spicy at all.For appetizers, we got garlic bread and burrata cheese salad. The bread was on the drier side, couldn't taste much garlic. But the salad was very good.Overall, nice experience!“
“Authentic Italian dining experience. The tonnarelli pasta was incredibly unctuous and savory with the perfect balance of mushrooms, cream and ground Italian sausage. I would absolutely order it again. The rigatoni all'Amatriciana was bright, tart, from the tomato sauce, and offset by the slight salty, savory quality of the pork cheek. Service was just right. The accents of the wait staff charmed. The location is small, a plus, spare, and a bit cool. Otherwise, a nice neighborhood spot, though worth the drive from outside the city too.“
“Although some of the prices were shocking.. Every dish was delicious. They have some sort of pulled pork hybrid toward alis , hybrid tortellini/ravioli.. a must eat. Also surprisingly the carrots were one of the best dish on the menu. Definitely worth a bite.“
“Food was amazing also the vibes in this restaurant are spectacular it's very lively. I had ended up having a cocktail over wine of course the gimlet there was bomb I ended up having two. Service was overly great I must say like a little too great not saying that I don't like to be checked up on but any given moment things were cleared and we were asked how is everything ...glasses were always full. The potatoes were alright and the brussel sprouts the same. I wasn't really digging the beef short rib but the agnolotti dal plin ugh was so good I will come back just for this.“
“Hands down, literally the best dinner I've ever had! From the wine, to Bruschetta appetizer, to meat canneloni and the best tirimissu I've ever had. I'm remember this dinner for a long time! The service was unbeatable as well.. hidden gem!“
“Caffè Macaroni continues to be one of San Francisco's very best & most authentic Italian restaurants. Extensive menu, great food, very friendly staff, and a classic North Beach setting. You can spend a lot more to eat “upscale” pseudo-Italian food at places like Aquerello or Sorella. At the latter, the manager will tell you that you need to leave after an hour or so to make way for the next round of guests. Never mind that you're being charged a small fortune for the brief time you're there. Head to Caffe Macaroni!“
“Few Saturday ago I had lunch here with some friends that they had already tried it. The owner is Italian and I spoke a little bit with him. The three of us shared the risotto of the day (seafood risotto), the octopus and the veal parmigiana, while my husband just the lasagna that he really loved it (and he is very picky about it). Risotto was good even though it was more similar to paella (speaking of taste it was good), octopus was good too, while the parmigiana wasn't my favorite but just because I don't like this dish in general (my friends really liked it). The owner was very friendly and gave to my baby a cup of ice cream. I was so busy to eat that I forgot to take pictures. Next time!!“
“Went here for dinner with my neice, and it was amazing. The staff was very friendly. We were a little cold and the staff brought us blankets. A must try was the meatballs, yummy. The salad was delicious, as was the pasta. Generous servings, and the food was nice and hot.“
“We had the pan-seared scallops and the Tagletelle special dish: tagletelle, snap pea segments, mushrooms, smoked prosciutto and a light cream sauce. And the Tiramisu for dessert. All were superb! And the service was impeccable. Highly recommend.“
“I had one of the best restaurant meals ever in San Francisco last night at Sorrel. The pictured dish is described as maitake / potato / dashi, the first course of seven and my favourite. The wine pairing was very good, and the service outstanding. Great celiac accommodation for me. Instead of the pasta based crab dish I got a stunningly excellent sun-choke risotto. Highly recommended for a special occasion.Dietary restrictions: I had excellent accommodation for my celiac affliction. Instead of the pasta based crab dish I got a stunningly excellent sun-choke risotto.“
“Loved our experience at a Mano! Our server was incredibly sweet! She gave the best recommendations and really made our experience incredible. We had the steak, cauliflower, burrata, foccacia, lamb ravioli, several cocktails, and a carafe of one of the reds (all excellent recommendations by our server). The restaurant was very cute, clean, and busy, although we were able to get seated right away. Definitely recommend a Mano for a fun evening out. It's a great place to take parents, out of town guests, friends, and oneself.“
“First time I had Lucia's pizza was at their pop up at the Grand Lake farmers market in oakland, and completely fell in love with the 4 cheese pizza! Decided to try the restaurant a couple of months ago and the didn't disappoint! Pizza was delicious and staff were super nice and friendly! Totally recommend them if you're looking to have a legit Italian pizza experience!“
“A friend recommended Ciccino and the experience was wonderful. Small, not too noisy, great staff and excellent food. There were four of us, so we did a shared plate meal with wine. Focaccia, scallop skewer, romaine fennel salad, tartare, ravioli carbonara, rib eye, and dessert. The two specials were also exceptional. The oyster ravioli was my favorite. The owner and chef also made it a point to visit each table giving an extra special touch to the service level. Call in advance for reservations as seating is limited. Excellent experience.“
“First time eating a deep dish chicago-style pizza as it's my first time in the US, and this was something else. Very nice, definitely different than a good old Napoletana I am used to :) the thin crust pizza was also very nice! For the two of us (one adult man and one woman), we've ordered a 10" thin crust pizza and an 8" deep dish pie (old Chicago style), and it was more than enough for us. The full-sized deep dish pie looked huge so I'm glad we didn't order it! It seemed like it would fill 4 adult men.“
“After 20 years later my husband and I back to enjoy the pizza, a bottle of wine , espresso coffee and they delicious Tiramisu OMG this restaurant sill with the best food and the best service, a Italian gentleman and a Yucatán gentleman make us totally happy with our meal.????“
“This was a life-changing dining experience - and so wonderful that our group went two nights in a row! The menu was authentic, extensive, fairly priced, and everything we ordered was phenomenal. The service was the best I've ever had. (Pro tip: ask for Charles!) The setting was intimate and cozy - exactly what we were looking for after a long day in the city.Don't pass on Fino. It will be one of the best meals of your life!“
“Cioppino was lovely.Enjoyed the Cioppino, but be warned it’s messy and massive, plenty for 3 or even 4 people. A salad was a nice pallet cleanser between bowls.Got two seats straight away on a walk in, and sat at the bar. Lovely atmosphere. Slightly warm inside.Fast and friendly service.“
“This was a fabulous Italian restaurant in the marina! Unfortunately, you can't make a reservation before hand so you need to queue on the yelp waitlist. However, if you're flexible the wait time is not too bad. We were a party of 3 looking for seating on a Saturday around 8 and waited about 30 mins. Besides this, the restaurant is adorable with beautiful dish wear and cute decor. We got some white wine for the table which was delicious and the waiter was great with recommendations. I ordered the bolognese which was so flavorful and the pasta was perfectly cooked. However, I do wish there was an option for more cheese on the pasta. We finished our meal with complimentary lemon gelatos which were very refreshing. Highly recommend Casado Osteria for your next date night or dinner with friends!“
“A sassy classy breakfast! The coffee is straight-up tasty and the butter croissants are so fluffy to the touch. My wife had a polenta breakfast with a large chicken sausage ensconced within and I had a thin flat hot pizza with prosciutto and cheese and two sunny-side-up huevos in the center. Yumm! Service was prompt and courteous (almost courtly, she was so nice). And the atmosphere was firmly on the genteel side. But we needed that that morning. We left the cafe like we'd been to a day spa, ready to face the world!“
“Honestly the best Italian place we’ve been in SF. We were looking for somewhere close so we decided to give it a shot and the service was amazing. I’ve never had such kind welcoming people at a restaurant. The food was also amazing and so quick. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an Italian place.“
“What a lovely little spot! We stumbled across this restaurant when we were in North Beach and wanted to get some Italian. It was one of the few spots that was open late. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! The owner/chef was so charismatic and kind, made us feel taken cared of. He also gave great wine recommendations for our meals. The gnocchi was out of this world, it was like a pillow melting in my mouth. What a great experience especially when you want traditional Italian food. We will definitely be coming back again and trying more of the pasta dishes!“
“I've been going to Sociale since they first opened and they are consistently great. There is excellent variety on the menu giving you lots of options. The pastas are very good, made with highest quality ingredients, as are the meats and fish. This visit we had salads for a first course. One of us has the veal chop and one the pork chop. Both were great. The dining room is cozy and the outdoor area is, too. There is a private dining room that can accommodate 15-20 people for those special gatherings. Plus, parking is easy and free on Sacramento Street. What more can you ask?“
“Good, not knock your socks off, but good. We were recommended thai restaurant by our hotel's concierge. We got the lasagne and the special orrecchiette pasta. They were tasty, but not so good that I was transported back to Europe. However, their service was top-notch and the owners were as sweet as can be. It was quite busy on a Saturday evening, and you can tell it is a popular local spot for good reason.“
“Excellent food, staff and service. They have a strong wine list, very interesting salads and pizza options. The decor is interesting and old school like from a 60s or 70s movie. The pizzas are named after neighborhoods in Rome. The street it is on is a bit sketchy but once inside it is really cool.Vegetarian options: Salads and many pizzas“
“Very delicious food! I would definitely recommend coming here anytime of the day. Their breakfast, lunch and dinner is amazing and they have a variety. The service is fast and the waiters and waitresses are very attentive. The location is a small hole in the wall. It's very delicious and would recommend to stop by and try!“
“Although there wasn't a huge selection of delicious options, it was after dinner and what they did have was impressive. If you love chocolate as much as I do, their chocolate ganache cake is a dream come true. Not many places to sit so I consider it takeout, but at least you get your steps in and wear off a bit of dinner. Cheers!“
“Went to the public market for some lunch, the public area was so crowded. So we decided to check out Pizzeria Mercato, the place is spacious! The calamari was delicious, would order that again! The pizza and pasta were good as well, but the calamari is a must for us. All and all, we had a relaxing lunch.“
“I LOVE this place, so nice to have it right around the corner from me. The Barotti Boys ( as I call them ) have great service. I think the pizza is Roma Style? Its all so good. High quality ingredients. I recommend going for the appertivo special!“
“Napizza is one of my favorite “go-to” restaurants in SF.Their quality of food is 10/10.Their service and attentiveness is 10/10.Their wine list is a 10/10 (primarily Italian reds).I have brought many friends from out of town and guests here to eat, as its ambiance is one of coziness, its intimate (in terms of its size), and fun (they tend to play music towards the evening depending on the crowd / customer vibe).Do go check it out, and don’t hold back on trying different things on their menu!P.s. I love their Caesar salad + anchovies“
“Paulo, the owner and host, brings a warm and welcoming charm to each meal. His wine and food recommendations are subperb. The servers are attentive and gracious. The small plate eggplant is so flavorful you'll wish it was an entree! The special sole with caper sauce let each sautéed flavor melt in the mouth. This is a small venue so reservations are recommended. You won't be disappointed!“
“This is the one! Little Star on Valencia was the polar opposite to this location. Staff is nice, attentive, quick, and professional. The restaurant had a good amount of customers yet our server always came back to check in on us. My favorite is the deep dish. This one came out delicious and had lots of roasted garlic chunks! I will be coming back when I get a craving. I'm not a crust person but I love eating theirs.“
“Had an amazing dinner with friends before taking in a show. Staff and owners were welcoming and friendly, it helped we had a regular patron in our company. Got VIP treatment throughout the dining experience.. Food was cooked to perfection, not too overpowering with just the right amount of garlic!! Cocktails were prepared equally to perfection. Loved the neighborhood vibe, an authentic SF experience. I’ll definitely be back!Parking: Parking right around the corner, one block from restaurant!“
“It’s a nice place to try authentic Italian cuisine. I tried the prosciutto pizza. I felt the overall taste was good but the prosciutto was not to the Italian standards. The service was excellent and staffs were efficient. I would go back again to try other dishes.Parking: The location is filled with many restaurants and is quite busy. It gets difficult to find parking.“
“I could write a multi paragraph love letter to this place. I'll keep it short for now: Eat here. You will not regret it. Go for special occasions. Go for a romantic dinner. Go on an ordinary day, just to enjoy yourself. Just go and eat here.“
“The fare has declined. The salad only had slithers of carrots and lettuce not really a salad. The male waiter was terrible but he was doubling as bar tender. I'm had gotten use to the great service from Dolly. The food has been better and the bread was old and stale.“
