“After seeing some vids about how great the mul naeng myun is here, I had to come try with my family. My sister and I got the mul naeng myun and my grandma got the sagol dduk mandu guk (ox bone soup with rice cake and dumplings). The broth of the naeng myun was clear and crisp, but a little bland, I had to put in a lot of the mustard paste and vinegar to increase the flavor. Overall, I liked the thinness and texture of the noodles, but the flavor of the soup was nothing too out of the ordinary. The banchan though... deserves a standing ovation. The side dishes were fresh, well seasoned, and Korean grandma approved. I think I preferred my grandma's rice cake soup to my naeng myun, but I would be willing to come back and try their other dishes. We got a pajeon (chive pancake) on the side as well, which was crispy and came with a lovely soy sauce on the side. The waitresses were also very attentive and kind. The restaurant was nearly empty when we walked in for a late lunch on a weekday. Overall a great experience :)“

Yes, it was a little rundown and outside there was a lot of garbage and old furniture but inside was clean although it was older, it was still very clean. The food was absolutely delicious! Went with a group of four people, and this restaurant has set menus which was very convenient. Ordered the beef and 8 kinds of marinated pork belly set (Family Combo 2 that feeds 3-4 people) and this set came with a large stew hotpot also. We thought we would have to cook the meats but Casey, our awesome server came by and grilled the meats for us as we ate the grilled meats off the grill. A couple soju and beers and this made for probably the best meal on my cali trip?? The service, the marinated pork, and the stew was both filling and delish. I'll probably try to the spicer option when I go back. The chicken karage was also superb. The service was fast and the restaurant was very clean! I can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu.“
“Heard so much hype about Soban so I wanted to try it out. The inside was a lot smaller than expected so try to come when it's not busy or make a reservation before. The dishes were really flavorful and I totally understand why there's so much talk about Soban. I demolished the braised black code which was my favorite, and I'm not usually a big fan of fish. The flavor of the fish was to die for and even the veggies were cooked perfectly. The braised pork ribs were also good and the stew was probably my least favorite. The price is pretty hefty and I can't say it's worth the crazy price tag, all three dishes came out to be around $160 and the four of us shared the three dishes. I think less is more here because the banchan is also really good and fills you up. Service was a bit slow but maybe it's because I went during a slow time and there was only two staff in the front. Try it out if you love traditional Korean dishes and authentic flavors!“

She worked mostly in the kitchen area, but also took orders, while another older woman took our order but she, too, was very friendly. (*no, they speak English, you don't have to speak Japanese :-D )My wife and I started with the Chili Garlic Edamame, which is served warm and the flavor of the sauce it comes in was very tasty. We couldn't finish these because we dove into our entree's, but reheating them, at home, we finished the rest! They give you quite a lot of them!My wife got the spicy ramen and, not having had curry in quite a while, I ordered the chicken katsu curry. I will say, I was subject to LOTS of cheap ramen for a couple years, in my twenties, and it turned me off of ANY ramen, going forward... However, first my wife offered me the pork that came in the soup and it was very flavorful and the broth was great (you actually get the spicy seasoning as a little "blob" you stir into the rest of the broth) once I tasted that. So, I went ahead and tried the ramen noodles and I think I MIGHT try my own bowl the next time I go. The gentlemen who first took our order was so kind and a absolute delight, I wish I had gotten his name. My wife and I ordered the prime brisket for our 2 options and the quality of the brisket was phenomenal, it also comes with fresh salad & complementary sides. The gentlemen who took our order were also kind enough to lay our meat down on the grill before we started to cook, which I thought was a nice touch of service. The ladies were so sweet and full of love that it was radiating off of them and made us feel so welcomed. When they would come around to our table they made sure we were ok and comfortable and asked how everything was. One of the ladies even gave us some recommendations on how we could incorporate the side dishes with the BBQ which we thought was very thoughtful and pleasant. All in all we are giving the Yellow Cow a 5-star due to everyone's effort, genuineness, service, ambiance & food. I highly recommend if you're looking for all the above. “I live about 5 minutes from Sawtelle and Seoul House of Tofu is where I go when I am looking for quick and decent soon dubu without making a trek out to Ktown. When it comes to parking, the lot can be a bit of a nightmare due to the busy Sawtelle location, so I like going during the weekday when it's not so crazypants there. Walking in, the restaurant itself is chill. The food comes out quickly and the portions are generous enough. The quality of the food is also good, standard. I wouldn't say it's the best, most fantastic place, but it'll satisfy my cravings! The service is good and it's usually easy to find a seat, even when it's busy. The thing about Korean food on the westside is that it is freaking pricey!!! We ordered the pajeon (Korean pancake) and a galbi/soondubu combo. The pajeon was $17 (insane to me) and the combo meal was $30.. but HEY, they know there's a demand for it on the westside and can get away with those prices! My favorite part about dining on Sawtelle though is after my meal, I usually treat myself to some boba, ice cream, or egg pancakes (all of which are sold in the neighboring businesses). Despite the high prices and high-traffic area, I will likely come back to this restaurant many many times.“

The space is small and connected to a karaoke bar; some of the sound gets through. Value is their selling point. $9 gets you a satiating bowl of ramen while paying $3 more still gets you a heftyyyy size. The Kotteri Shoyu ramen was flavorful and the noodles were well-cooked. The only thing I would dock a star for is the chashu seeming a little dry or overdone for my liking, but that wouldn't be enough to stop me from coming back though. Service was quick. They were fresh and perfectly crunchy on the outside and the cabbage and carrot were crunchy on the inside. That and some sweet and sour with hot mustard……well I wish I’d bought more. I also ordered my favorite hot and sour soup. I have to say it was extraordinary. I had to add some chili because I like my soup spicy but other than that I couldn’t put it down. The dried fungus made it especially delicious and extremely healthy. I’m a bit of a foodie and you can tell a lot about a restaurant by its egg rolls and soup and I will definitely be going back to Jin China Bistro! It is also very beautiful and the perfect place for a date. The food with the ambience and friendly service makes this a 5 star restaurant in my opinion.“

“Very very delicious food. Today was the caldo de camaron along with a taco de pastor on the side. There menudo on the weekends are really really fire ?. I highly recommend the food here. The staff is very very friendly and family orientated. Did I mention they have a meat market for all your groceries needs.“
