“I enjoyed the food. I ordered it through Uber eats and Tosai Kitchen packed really well. The miso soup was covered in plastic wrap and then closed with the lid to prevent a spill, the food was placed in a brown paper bag and then stapled in a secure way so the food would not move around during transportation. I got the Miso Soup, Shrimp Dumpling and Salmon Avocado Roll, everything tasted great, looked presentable and I wouldn’t mind ordering from them again.“

“Fantastic quality and taste. This is hands down my new fave in LA for sushi. When they get their liquor license it'll be packed non stop. Really nice help and attention from the team. Try the inside out salmon roll, melts in your mouth!!!“

“Bar Sawa is a total hidden gem—an intimate omakase adventure wrapped in speakeasy style. From the moment you enter the discreet entrance, it feels like you’ve stepped into a secret culinary world. The chef is a true artist: meticulous, passionate, and warm, guiding you through each course with care and storytelling that elevates the experience.
Every bite is exceptional—ultra-fresh fish, perfectly balanced flavors, and beautiful presentation that makes it almost too pretty to eat (but you will, and you’ll be glad you did). The service is attentive yet relaxed, striking the perfect tone for the cozy setting.
Theme nights add another layer of excitement—creative twists that keep things playful without sacrificing authenticity. It’s rare to find a spot that nails atmosphere, service, and world-class sushi in one go, but Bar Sawa delivers across the board. A must for anyone who wants something unforgettable.“

“Delicious food at a reasonable price. I ordered one of the options with multiple handrolls and chefs were attentive enough that they never stacked up, but I somehow always had one in front of me. I'd passed by it without trying it before as we were meeting up with family at another place, but I'm glad we made it back here.“

“Just had a self Omakase date and I have to say, the detail that was poured into each dish, flavor wise, was really special. Even just the sashimi pieces themselves really had great complimentary garnish flavors that weren’t even noticeable just looking at the fish.
Great service and throughly enjoyed.“

“Sushi Takesa is truly one of the top omakase spots in town. The fish was incredibly fresh with a great texture, perfectly complemented by expertly prepared sushi rice. Every course was outstanding—each one thoughtfully crafted and delicious. The service was also exceptional, attentive without being intrusive. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience and will definitely be returning!“

“Not sure why this place doesn’t have 5 stars. Found this place about a year ago and every time we are in LA we make a point to come during happy hour and get their mountain roll & crispy spicy tuna. Service is wonderful and attentive. Sushi never misses. Always so fresh. 10/10 recommend!“

“Good Japanese foods , many varieties of dishes . The fish grilled sea bass is cooked just perfectly fine . The salad is kinda american Japanese fusion but still good . The carbonara noodle - I don’t really care (It doesn’t really fit with the rest of the dishes) - overall is a great place to enjoy Japanese foods“

“Best seafood and Japanese food I've ever had in my life — not exaggerating. The freshest seafood you'll ever taste. I brought multiple people here and they agree I'm not exaggerating. The quality is unlike anything else in LA. Everything is incredible but the raw seafood gets the most special shoutout.“

“Fabulous sushi with just enough flair to let you know that Chef Daniel-son has above average skills in areas other than sushi - he does a Saba sandwich on homemade milk bread, plus a shrimp stone pot fried rice in addition to sushi (at least as of this visit). Two seatings, the later one is more relaxed if you don't mind eating late. And the sake selection is excellent.“

The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh, high-quality sushi that exceeded expectations. On top of that, the restaurant was very clean and well-kept, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.
Sushi Gen definitely lives up to its reputation, and I’ll be looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended for anyone who loves great sushi and great service!“

“This little neighborhood gem is worth visiting! The sushi was elegantly presented and so flavorful. Even the sticky rice was so perfectly cooked and tender. Chef’s wife was very kind and took the time to explain the various specialty rolls. Stop thinking and just do it! You won’t regret it“

“Probably the best Sushi/Sashimi place in Los Angeles.
I know fresh and quality sashimi/sushi and this probably the freshest I've seen in a long while. The owners are super sweet, top notch service and the restaurant interior is so clean and comfortable. Again the quality of the fish was above the norm.“

“Super tasty! King Yubu is a little hidden gem kind of place. Really delicious Korean style sushi. Think like little pockets with all kinds of fillings on rice. I got the Signature King Yubu, the spicy pork belly and the unagi Yubu with a spicy tuna and tempura sushi roll. All really good we also tried the kimchi loaded fries really big portion definitely a shareable portion. It was corn cheese with kimchi on the seasoned fries you can get different toppings like fried chicken or bulgogi but just the fries by themselves were super good so we went without all the extra. Definitely coming back to try the other options on the menu looks like new updates and ideas coming to the menu all the time. Great job chef.“

“The best sushi you can get in Los Angeles. It can easily hold its own against some of the best places in Japan. I love dining here and if you are fortunate enough to get a reservation I think you will have a great time. The food they make is certainly with a Japanese palette meaning that there are dishes presented here will not be all melt in your mouth fish that most Americans want. There will be a variety of tastes and textures. I love it, but I can see how some people may not love every dish.“

“I am Korean and have been to many sushi, tempura, and omakase restaurants in Sapporo.
It's good here. It's good, but it's really crappy. It's no exaggeration to say that it's salt sushi. When Koreans go, please ask for a little less seasoning. Otherwise, you'll feel like you're eating from a soy sauce container.
And it's so, so, so cold. I'm not a neta, but I go to Michelin and pay $500, so I can't help but wonder why I'm shivering from the cold. And when I hold the nigiri, I don't know if it's a habit, but every time I hold it, I take a small amount of rice... a little bit from the nigiri. It feels a bit like an amateur. The fact that there were a lot of tsumami made was enough to give that feeling.
And the chef speaks a little Korean.
This business could get better if they just don't use Chrome Hearts chopsticks and show a little more consideration for their customers. The food was good, and except for the saltiness, the sushi and neta were good.“

“I pop in here probably once a week sometimes twice for a glass of wine. The bartenders are very cheerful and informed with respect to varieties and flavors and all the jazz. They walk you through the options and make tip top recommendations. The place is always slammed at night, yet the manager is extremely accommodating and always finds a place for me to chill and savor the weekend ambiance. I’ve never had their food, but it looks delicious. All the servers are friendly and have excellent people skills. The outdoor space is a fun hang too if you have a group. I always feel spoiled here. 5 star experiences.“

“I mean, this is the besttttt handroll spot in all of Los Angeles. Cool unique hand rolls (like the same woo jang and banh mi) and premium rolls (uni, toro/caviar/uni). AND they give huge chunks of sushi. Since the seaweed layer is taken off when eating the seaweed is crispy while eating. The technology is giving! Honestly, IMO better than some of the big popular establishments around for hand rolls (IYKYK). Their to-go and delivery is not bad as well!“

“During my trip to the U.S., the best food I had was sushi. The quality of the fish was exceptional, and everything from the appetizers to the dessert was perfect. You could really feel the care and high-quality ingredients in every dish. The service was also incredibly friendly. I enjoyed a delicious omakase with friends in a private room. If I ever travel to the U.S. again, I’ll definitely visit this place again. Highly recommended!“

“The plant based kaiseki was amazing. Beautifully presented, deliciously seasoned, and well portioned. The hot pot was the biggest of all courses and it was so much food! The black sesame ice cream was surprisingly delicious.
Vegetarian options: The 7 course plant based kaiseki was amazing
Dietary restrictions: Dietary restrictions was the very first question asked!“

“We often visit Wabi, and are regulars at this amazing restaurant. We've sat inside, outside and at the bar. The experience is great and different every time. The food is amazing, the vibes are energetic and aesthetic, and we've been treated well by the people who work there. We ran into an issue with our service, and notified a hostess of our issue, who ended up being the manager. She profusely apologized for this inconvenience, corrected the issue and our service was impeccable for the rest of the night. Wabi is always a treat.“

“We love Sushi Time! It’s one of the best local sushi spots in Torrance. My wife and I will call in for pick up and it’s always so quick. We get the eel avocado roll all the time, easily the best sushi they have. We’ve tried the shrimp tempura too but the eel sauce is good. The wasabi is spicy but could definitely be spicier! All in all, highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for delicious sushi at a good price. Owners are really kind as well and sometimes give special service!!“

“We went here for our wedding anniversary and we loved loved the whole experience! I’ve had many omakase before in LA, Toronto & Japan and this was top notch. I was obsessed with their pickled ginger as it appears to be house made. I would come back just for that! Just kidding but not really. We’ll definitely be back! I wish them continued success!“

“We really enjoyed our dining experience at Kenbey. The sushi is fresh and you can tell the chef cares about each piece he serves. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of 3 things. The first is that I didn’t like the sauce that came on the hirame and the sauce on the albacore with the slice of garlic. Second, we tried the Hokkaido uni, it was a very dark orange (so not the freshest - we should have gone with the Santa Barbara uni) and so bland and flavorless. Third, for the prices they could add some decoration.
I would still recommend trying Kenbey. The service was excellent and overall pretty good!“

“Kikka makes the refrigerated sushi at Whole Foods Streeterville. IDK much about transport or where it's made/assembled but salmon looks great that's supposed to expire tomorrow (see photo).Refrigerated SALMON NIGIRI tasted as good as just-made Nigiri. ? I did read the ingredients lists, nothing suspicious/unreadable.Refrigerated NIGIRI RICE still tasted soft and intact.Refrigerated SALMON was buttery on each bite with zero resistance. Edges were not dry at all.I did check out the ROLLS as well, it didn't look as good as the Salmon selections. Please add additional soy sauce packet. At $14, it's an average price but certainly much better quality, thickness and size than other restaurants. As a TO-GO, tip is eliminated. Accessible.“
