“This is my family’s regular go to dinner spot for Friday night. Food comes out pretty quick and my young kids love the katsu and short ribs when mixed with the teriyaki sauce so it is one meal during the weak we don’t need to fight them to clean their plates. Tee is also an amazing front of house staff member and super friendly so I always enjoy calling in my order to chat with her.“

I ordered the Sampler plate the #1 it had a big portions of each item everything tasted delicious the cornbread was moist and the garlic bread was toasty. “This is a hole in the wall. Line up and get your food and take it out to the outdoor public seating. They have an eclectic mix of (I want to say) Filipino barbecued pork, barbecue, chicken adobo, curry chicken, spicy chicken, some kind of sausage, fried rice, plain rice, chow mein. The barbecue pork is so expletive delicious! It has a sweet and charred flavor.“

“This was our go-to spot before the game and it didn’t disappoint. Super fun atmosphere with interactive games to play with friends, and the sliders were actually really good. Tons of TVs so you don’t miss any of the action. The best part for me was the open rooftop — gave it that outdoor feel without having to deal with the heat. Great vibes all around!“

“PRETTY SENSATIONAL ! We had just done a bunch of shopping at Vinh-Hung Supermarket on Saturday and decided that we should have lunch at the Hong Kong BBQ Dim Sum & Kitchen...situated inside the supermarket. You know it didn't look too flash but it was packed out and the food going out to the tables looked pretty good. I asked a female server if we could get a table for 2...and she pointed to the only vacant table in the cafe. WHOO HOO ! I sat at the table watching the activity while my wife took an urgent phone call about her ill mother. A server named Joe came by and I asked for iced waters. THEY CAME OUT FAST ! Joe brought us menus which we checked out in detail. WOW.... there was some neat stuff on their menu. We kicked things off with a SHRIMP DUMPLING Appetizer ( $6.38 ) ! For our mains my wife selected HONEY WALNUT SHRIMP ( $21.95 ) while I chose KUNG PAU SPICY BEEF ( $17.95 ). You know when you try a brand new eatery you never know what to expect but I had been seeing some pretty good looking dishes ferried out to the tables while I waited for my wife. Our Shrimp Dumpling Appetizer arrived in next to no time and tasted SENSATIONAL ! WHAT A GREAT START ! Our mains came out together and the serves were GINORMOUS ! And darn did they look good. My wife went nuts over her Honey Walnut Shrimp....an authentic Chinese dish. I tried it and OMG it tasted beyond delicious ! My Kung Pau Spicy Beef & Rice BLEW ME AWAY ! FLAVOR KICK FLAVOR KICK..get the message. My delicious serve was huge and I actually had the rest for lunch today....still tasted awesome. THIS PLACE DELIVERED WAY BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS !“

“I recently picked up some food to go, and it was the perfect choice for a night out by the water. Everything was packed thoughtfully, including those cute heart-shaped containers that made for such a fun beach picnic setup.

The sushi was fresh and flavorful, and the ramen had a perfectly cooked egg with a rich broth. We really enjoyed the variety in our order. It was such a great meal under the moon, and I will definitely be back for more soon.“

“Went here for my 3 year anniversary and it was amazing. My partner and I were told what to expect because it was our first time. I loved the Tom Yum broth and will definitely order that one again. I loved that everything was kinda open bar and included with the AYCE. If I were to come back I'd definitely only pick hotpot not because the KBBQ was bad, it was really good but I had more fun with the hotpot. Hoping to come back soon!“

“I’ve tried quite a few Korean spots in San Diego, and Song Hak is definitely one I’d come back to.

Their Korean food is really good overall, but the stone pot bibimbap was probably my favorite. It came out super hot, and I loved how the rice at the bottom got crispy from the stone bowl. Mix everything together with the sauce and it’s just so comforting and satisfying.

Everything we ordered tasted fresh and flavorful, and it honestly felt like one of those meals where you keep eating even when you’re already full 😂

“This was a great way to wrap up Comic Con. Theyb satv yes right away on Sunday evening. The food was delicious. The bbq sauce is a little spicy, but delicious. The chilli fries were delicious.

I think they may have been a little overwhelmed or short staffed. The service was a little slow. Like our drinks can't out about 3 minutes before our food.

It was really cool to sit next to the piano from Top Gun though. I would recommend this as a stop if you're in San Diego.“

“This has been my number one place to go to for the most delicious and most freshly cooked, roasted pig, regular, whole-roasted duck, and whole roasted-open duck in the whole San Diego county!! I also like their roasted pig feet and head!!😋 I have been going here for about over two decades. I have not tried their other dishes though. My favorite dish is their whole, open roasted duck!! It's really tasty and has a lot less fat than the regular, roasted one, but it still has the right amount of moisture and flavor in the meat, except the head. The duck head is sometimes dry if it is later in the afternoon. I usually get it during their first batch in the morning when they first open at 9:30am. The Cantonese lady who's also fluent in Vietnamese and English would always ask me if I want my duck to be cut. I like to watch her cutting the whole duck into nice bite sizes and all into a box nicely and neatly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes the dishes I mentioned here!“

“I've been to this place 10+ times. It's a small mom & pop spot, serving the type of Korean fare that you might expect. It's widely considered to be one of the best Korean joints in SD and I don't dispute that. But the star of the show is the Kimchi jiggae. I usually don't order Kimchi jiggae in restaurants, but the kimchi jiggae here is my absolute favorite, and I always get it. Their banchan is also simple yet excellent. If you want Korean food staples in SD, this is the place. Parking can be difficult, but it's Convoy, so you should know the drill.“

“Delicious Japanese yakiniku barbecue at Tsuruhashi on Convoy Street! The meat was so tasty, we had high quality A5 wagyu short rib, Kobe misuji, pork belly, beef tongue, and lettuce wrap and rice. Friendly staff and the meat comes out quickly. It is not all you can eat. We enjoyed the Sapporo beer. Recommend!“

“First of all, the moment we walk in, the layout and environment was beautiful and astonishing. The Buddha statue is cool and the painting was also pretty. Also there was a DJ which makes it even better. Anyways service was great and although they do charge for water which I’ve never seen before, the food was amazing. The sushi rolls and fried rice was delicious and the rest was great too. I would come back but would probably just try to not drink too much water.“

“I loved their lao papaya salad! Only thing was at spicy level 10, I tasted no spice. I guess this is a ME problem. I eat too much spicy! Their lao sausages are also so good!

“One of the very best pulled pork BBQ sandwich plates I've had in years. Their vinegar coleslaw and scratch potato salad was so delicious we ordered extra portions. The Pig's Gig is located in the Liberty Mall, just a small cubical that's hopping. Just one fellow who is pleasant and rockin' it! Dining in requires a little hunting for seating, but once you pop the 'to-go' box it's so worth the search! Weekday there's plenty of parking, weekends gets a little hectic.“

“Love this L&L. Staff is always super friendly. Food is more flavorful than the other locations. I come in almost every Monday for the musubi deal. Really good deal for really good musubis. They even have them in a warmer up front so you don’t have to wait at all.“

Love how you can walk up and order quickly. They also have a few beers on tap!!

“I read the reviews for this place and I was curious to try it, being Mexican, I’ve never been too impressed by tacos in San Diego, there are good tacos but there’s always something better down south.

I am not someone that picks a place for the atmosphere, I go places for their food, if the atmosphere is good I might stay longer but if the food’s good I’ll come back.

Which is the case with this place, the food is so good that I would travel back from mexico just to eat their ribeye tacos.

I’ve read about people complaining about the atmosphere here, there are too used to fast food joints, this is how a real taqueria feels like, it’s rustic, not sterile, there’s ash from the charcoal flying and landing in the furniture out back, loud music, informal service. If you can’t deal with that, go get yourself some fast food instead, this might not be for everyone. But the food…

The food is worth it, not sterile uberclean plastic setting we tend to find this side of the wall, this feels authentic, and tastes like the best in Mexico. The quality of the raw materials ids the best I have seen, even in México. Could the setting be better? Who cares, the tacos are fantastic that’s all that counts.

“This is located inside H Mart. They have a little good court at the entrance. My mom ordered the pork soft tofu soup and I ordered the beef soft tofu soup. soups were very good and tasty. The bonchons were incredible. My mom loved the fried fish especially/. This is a definitely go to place for tofu soup. will come back again to try other dishes“

“When we entered there wasn’t anyone, and tbh the restaurant’s design looked a little bare… it almost looked like it wasn’t doing well. When the food came, my entire family (with three kids) loved it. We were here for lunch and ordered noodles, and I could just say it’s comfort in my belly. Tho they took our order wrongly and served us an extra bowl of noodle (and we paid for it), we took it bcos we wanted to try something else from the menu.

A senior lady (I suppose she’s the one who cooked the dishes) came out and asked if everything was alright, and even gave us a free bottle of drink. Oh, there was also a small crowd also flowed in during our meal as well.
