“We had a large party and this was our first visit to pier 50. Fina was our server and did such an amazing job. We really did have an amazing experience and she was so kind and patient. Food was great and the menu had great selections for sushi/proteins. We def enjoyed our time here and will be back !“

“Came Friday dinner, around 7pm, busy, ~80% full, took ~40mins for the food to start trickle in. The deep fried gyoza were not hot when came out. Surprisingly were only warm. Tried bento box 2 items: sashimi and teriyaki beef. I enjoyed the salad more than expected. Love the house sauce. Teriyaki beef and sashimi were decent. My husband ordered a roll, can't remember the name now, it's decent as well.“

“Stopped at this place cause we were looking for Bento boxes. lol. I didn't read the menu prior to stopping. We contemplated leaving cause we weren't sure about the items on the menu. I am happy to report we enjoyed our meal.

Here's what we ordered:

1. Wakame
2. Taco Sake
3. Katsu Don

The taco sake was yummy. The sauce on the taco gave poke vibes but wrapped up in crunchy seaweed that stayed together nicely after each bite. The katsu loss a little of the signature crunch after being covered by all the yummies in the bowl but overall good. Maybe change the plating to layer the chicken on top so it doesn't turn soggy.

“Visiting from out of town, I wanted authentic Japanese food, and this restaurant delivered. The service was kind and welcoming, even guiding me through dishes I hadn’t tried before. The tonkotsu ramen was rich, flavorful, and comforting, while the matcha dessert was light and refreshing. The décor, with lanterns and bamboo accents, made me feel transported straight to Japan.“

When you order a chef’s choice selection, they will sometimes include real wasabi (along with the regular paste wasabi that is more common at restaurants). The look of the restaurant, as well as the visual presentation of the dishes, are very pretty and photo-worthy. The A5 Miyazaki Wagyu is phenomenal. The paper hotpot was a unique and imaginative experience —no single bite was ever the same, but constantly evolving. Ju Hachi is a spot where fresh shipments of fish come first, and you can Taste it immediately. Clean cuts, fresh, succulent and juicy - the Chefs choice sashimi of the day was ocean trout + hamachi + salmon. For the fitness folks that need high protein macro friendly eats, Ju Hachi is your spot.

“I have been going to Otos most saturdats for 5 years. What amazes me is that the people remember you. I used to call ahead to have some items from the kitchen for me to pick up because I couldnt get there by 9:30 and theres no hassle even if its like 2 items…and they remember me.

The teriyaki chicken is plentiful and cooked just right. I love their teriyaki sauce. “Was hungry for lunch and had errands to run nearby (R Street). At first I scoffed at the price for a katsu sando bc $16 is a lot. When it came out, I saw it was worth it. Not because it's delicious--it is--but because it is a HEFTY sandwich. I ordered the Jtown spicy chicken. I ate half + half a cookie and was stuffed. I took the other half home. The little box it came in was heavy. It's a solid block of yum. I would definitely come back for a shared lunch next time. Nice staff. Sunny table. Great cookie.
