“I was very happy with my visit. I've heard a lot about this place so I wanted to try it for myself. I'd tried other places like Bachanal in Vegas and I wasn't impressed, I've tried the Queen Mary brunch and it was good but I didn't feel like I got my money's worth specially with Bachanal, Cafe Siera though I think was definitely worth what I paid. It's located in the Hilton Hotel at Universal Studios right between the bar and the check in desk. It's not at first what you'd expect but it's really nice the tables, silverware, service is really great. They place a large tray on your table to put shells from the crabs, lobsters, oysters, scallops, and anything else you want to put in there. Every time you go up to get more food they've already cleared out the tray and put new napkins on the bottom of it and your used plates are usually gone. The food was really good, beer, wine, and champagne along with non alcoholic drinks are included with the meal, and I like how they keep everything freshly stocked including the lobster and king crab legs! The food was really good quality. I really liked the steamed lobster, cocktail shrimp, and rack of lamb. For those that love desserts they had a large assortment to choose from! From macaroons to cakes, fruit, pastries, chocolate contains, freshly made crepes with gummy bears made in house and an ice cream station! My daughters favorite out of the entire meal was the custom crepe they made for her, she couldn't stop taking about it! Pro tip with the lobster and crab, stick with either the steamed or chilled ones, the claws and king crab cooked in sauce and beating was messy and not as flavorful. Overall it's a bit pricey but compared to what I've paid at places like Maestro's, I would definitely come back here for special occasions! If you like seafood and all you can eat I highly recommend the weekend dinner buffet!“
“You absolutely have to dine here! Everything from the food, to the service, to the wine/cocktails and ambiance was absolutely incredible. My significant other doesn’t eat raw fish and I forgot to mention it when booking, but the staff asked at the start of the meal and they were happy to accommodate the preference despite it being last minute. The somm absolutely nailed the pairing the night I was there. My group loved every single pour so much that we asked for a detailed list of the tasting. Overall, everything was fantastic and I quite enjoyed the perfect balance between friendly and professional when it came to the service.Thank you for an incredible night!“
“For Hawaiian fusion it’s pretty good, with some unexpected items such as the potatos bravas stealing the show. Some other items were less impressive, with the filet mignon in particular, despite being very tender, too out of character for this place. Warm French toast for dessert is a bit fun with banana bread and cocoa chips.Service was superb and cocktail game is strong. Parking is valet or hope you get lucky in the neighborhood.Vegetarian options: Some decent options for vegetarians.Parking: It’s a busy business area, quite a few streets nearby are permit only, so odds are good the valet is the best option.“
“The restaurant needs to buy one can of WD-40 to fix their squeaky front door. Had to wait 20 minutes outside the front door waiting for our table (which was not a big deal) but for the incredibly squeaky front door which opens repeatedly. Everyone waiting for their table was getting a headache. Food was great. I won't return until I know that door is fixed.“
“This place totally lives up to its hype and is 100% deserving of the Michelin Bib Gourmand award. I would highly recommend one of the chef’s tasting menus to let the chef take your taste buds on a gastronomic journey bursting with flavor at every twist and turn. Each dish is truly a unique delight and will wow your senses. I would highly recommend the Beef Rendang, the butter chicken, the green papaya salad, and the dry aged branzino. You have to order the roti too of course! The atmosphere feels like your rich grandmothers living room with pink wallpaper and vintage- looking wood tables. They also serve the dishes on mix and matched antique porcelain plates with unique designs, which adds to the vibe. You have to make a reservation here in advance, unless you’re cool sitting outside at a high top (fyi when we sat here the service was not as good as usual).“
“I had a great date night experience at Fia. The service from the waiters to the host and hostesses were excellent. I felt welcomed and everyone was very happy to be of service. The food, drinks, and ambiance was also amazing. I will definitely be back!“
“Seafood incredibly fresh and service was great. There were some times where the staff forgot to get us our drinks but that wasn’t a big deal. The food was delicious but on the pricier side. Been told to reserve for dinner course experience so maybe that was what I was missing out on. For a lunch experience, it was nice but pricier than I expected.Best item was the kanpachi uni tostada“
“It's a tragedy that Manzke is closing at the end of February. A restaurant this good shouldn't have to close. Everything is fantastic. The food is rich in flavor with a cocktail and wine list as close to perfection as possible. I'd encourage anyone who loves fine dining to enjoy Manzke while you can. Oh, and the butter is heavenly...“
“This was our first time at Saltie Girl. We will definitely be dinning at Saltie Girl again. The oysters were outstanding and not a bad price at $4.50 each. They had great flavor.LA Pink salad was very good with an excellent crushed maple walnut dressing dressing. The Moules Frites, probably the best I ever had, even better than in Belgium! Ipswich Claim had a wonderful coating and excellent flavor. The Fried Brussels Sprouts outstanding flavor. The French Dover Sole with the lemon, capers, butter and parsley, amazing flavor. Lump Crab Toast bold and delicious flavor. The one dish I would pass on next time is the Tins. We had one tin with Sardine In Olive Oil With Lemon and one with Hake In Green Sauce. They just lacked flavor.Service was top notch.“
“Food was very good but the waitress was even better!! Quite literally the best waitress I have ever had at a restaurant. She was patient kind, caring, and very thoughtful. She would be the main reason why I would come back!! Unfortunately I forget her name, but if the owners see this- she is blond hair with what sounded like an Eastern European or Russian accent possibly? Great experience!“
“I was uncomfortable with the place down the street. It looked rowdy. Javi told us to try this place. He said it's been here over 10 years. I wish I knew about this place sooner. It's a hidden gem. They have a huge indoor seating area, cafeteria style. There's restrooms. We paid $120 for two botanas, a dozen oysters, 6 shrimp tacos, two tostadas, and three drinks. Yum. Sorry! We were hungry, forgot to take before pictures. ?“
“The food was delicious here. Picking your fish is a unique experience and our waiter was really helpful selecting the perfect catch. So service was great from our waiter but a note, for the price point here spent, empty dishes and cocktail glasses sat too long on the table. It’s also time to retire the idea of the restroom attendant. It’s an antiquated class concept. The gentleman was completely charming, this is not about him, it’s about the concept. All the men I saw going into the bathroom were old enough to dispense their own soap and dry their own hands. I hope you can find another place for the attendant in the ranks of your staff.“
“A unique and truly special meal. First, the food is so unique, inspired, and delicious. Second, we were offered a non-alcoholic beverage pairing that was thoughtfully paired with each dish—as someone seeking to decrease my alcohol consumption, I wish every restaurant put a tenth of the thought into their nonalcoholic options as Kato does. Finally, the service is so warm and welcoming. I will be thinking about this meal for a long time.“
“The service was top notch, all of our servers were informative about the food and friendly. The atmosphere is dark line and good speakeasy should be with a live instrumental trio, but you could still hold a conversation with your date without yelling. The food was uneven, the starters (buns and tiger prawns) were incredible, the dessert (cookies and cream) was surprisingly full of flavor and delicious. The wagyu steak was good but not melt in your mouth amazing, which is what I want when I get a steak at a restaurant. The pork belly was the most bland item we had, but my husband still enjoyed eating it. Overall a great place for drinks and small bites.“
“Everything was fine. The food was delicious as usual. The only thing that really bothered us was the stuff who was approaching our table every 5 minutes asking if we were done with our food for them to take the plates away. Kind of annoying.“
“This place was amazing! The food was delicious and very colorful and unique in how they combined different things. Staff was also really attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and food being served.Only thing is that I wish there was more fish in the omakase. The portion sizes were also a bit small“
“I pass by Yama a lot on my way to and from the Santa Monica Airport. I typically drop by the Chipotle next door to pick up something quick but decided to check out Yama. And am I glad I did! The 5 pc nigiri Bento Box was exactly what I was looking for in a medium/light lunch. I was especially impressed with the karaage. Even after my 10 minute drive home, it remained crispy and reasonably warm. The sauce it’s soaked in is incredibly tasty and satisfying. The cold noodles were a nice simple side and the nigiri was solid. Expect to wait about 10 minutes for them to make the box freshly for you. I will definitely be coming back here and telling my friends about it.“
“I did have to wait awhile to be seated because it was just me and I had a reservation for bar seating. However, the staff was so nice and friendly. They apologized for the wait and the hostess offered me a glass of champagne while I waited, and I got a drink on the house. I even got a tour of the speakeasy while I waited. Dustin is a great bartender and has such a good vibe! Delicious food and a fun atmosphere all around.“
“Very lively seafood joint. I found it surprisingly upscale for Frogtown. Excellent quality seafood, but very heavily seasoned, if that's your thing. Some of the delicacy of the freshness was lost amidst the heavy-handed sauces. It was all beautifully crafted; it's just not my preference. It's a lovely space that's good for larger groups.“
“Some of the best fish tacos I've had in LA. Lovely staff, unique menu options. There is serve-yourself salsa station with an impressive array of house made choices. Do yourself a favor and get a crunchy fried fish taco and eat it right when it comes out!! There is limited seating out front, but you can usually snag a table in the shared space between the truck and Pine+Crane.“
“Everything about our experience was amazing. From the food to the service. We are making plans to return very soon. Ambiance and decors were beautiful and good was casual yet very elevated. This is definitely a place that we will frequent often.“
“One of the most memorable dinner of my life! This is why you save up for a great meal. Elevated Korean food dinning, you don't have to fly to Korea for. Every dish was presented beautifully, artistically and tasted as good as it looked. Even the service was top notch. I hope to come back soon, as I'll dream about this experience.“
“I love this place. Friendly people and great food. The best beef and broccoli ever. If you are snooty and need pretentious nonsense in a restaurant, please skip. This is salt of the Earth dining in a pleasant atmosphere (or take out) where the food shows how much work went into it.“
“I enjoyed this place a lot! We sat at the bar and got a chef's tasting menu. Everything was outstanding! We came in from Vegas for quick getaway and this place did not disappoint. If we're ever in the area again we're come back! We particularily enjoyed the cooked carrots and the mushroom pasta we were served“
“Leona's was AMAZING. The food was such a fun experience and every dish felt like a surprise! Our waitress (if only I could remember her name) was so nice and helpful when it came to navigating the menu, the bartender even noticed she was busy and took our drink orders, and the food runners made it extra special by singing happy birthday to my husband hahahaha thank you everyone. 100/10 will come here for every date night.“
“We loved this place and it will be a regular rotation spot for us. We had the Chicken Lasagna and the Portobello Marsala Chicken, both were very good, we also had crab cakes which were good. The service was excellent as well and they seem to have a good flow to everything. I've lived in the area for 2 years and tried a few places around and this is definitely the best. I loved that they didn't cram every guest in to tables next to each other and gave us space where they could, more places need need to take note of that.“
“A staple for great steakhouse food, delicious drinks and a fun night for a group, a family or a date night. The management is some of the all time best in LA- always willing to do the most to make your experience as special as possible. Some favorite menu items are the Tomahawk ribeye, the table side Caesar and ALL of the sides. Not to miss would be the fries (of every variety), the creamed spinach and the onion rings. For seafood lovers, I recommend the blackened salmon. The roast chicken is also divine. The not-to-miss and free star is the roasted garlic that can be spread onto their delicious bread assortment or onto any of their solid proteins.“
“The atmosphere or ambiance is excellent. It's a small community restaurant with excellent food. The only reason for the 4 is it was a bit cold inside.Vegetarian options: Almost all menu it's have a vegan and or vegetarian option.Parking: Street parking“
“Most excellent experience and food was perfect. We had the duck eggrolls and the ricotta stuffed squash blossoms as starters, both had a delish specialty drink. I had the house burger with 3 different meats ground in including wagyu. Was done perfectly med rare. No room for dessert this time. Will def go back. Service was nice, we sat at the bar. All in all a great experience.“
“Great food and ambience. Exceptional hospitality!!! We had the Singaporean crab deep, Maryland oysters, Hainanese Chicken and Dan Dan noodles and it was all delicious!!! Paper crane Thai basil margarita drinks were probably the best mixed drinks I've had in recent memory!!!!“
“I went a couple weeks ago and got the beet hummus as a starter. It was fine. After that, I got the bass. It was a bit small, but still amazing. Although, I did have to send it back and have another dish brought to me because the first one had shrimp in it. On the menu, it didn’t mention shrimp. But again, the bass and the curry-like sauce that it was served in were delicious. The chef sent out a sashimi dish that was a bit overwhelming, but very good. He even came to the table to ask me how I liked it. I also loved the Verdeca wine and the cocktail with saffron. Very different. Definitely plan on coming back!“
“We are self recognized sushi snobs and this is our new go to place. They have rolls similar to what we find at Got Sushi in Northridge but for a better price. The quality is right up there with other top notch places. The service is on point. It's a small place so just one waitress when we've gone, but she is always on top of everything and the food comes out of the open kitchen quickly.“
“C+T is our go-to neighborhood favorite! Consistently fresh, well prepared and super tasty food offered by well trained, knowledgeable and attentive, friendly staff! Love that the Celtics are on the TV and the billboard quips are always cheeky!“
“As always, dinner at Milky Way was special. Fish and Chips, Mini Chimichangas, Seafood Chowder, and Impossible Cheeseburger all exceptional. Service by Takiya was great again(my wife was able to switch raw onions to carmelized onion and American cheese to Swiss cheese.). My mother chose the chili to start fish and chips rather than salad options. Ambiance? Like going to your favorite aunt for a meal.“
“Awesome spot if you want a slow night with light bites and great wine. Also, great spot if you want to start your wild night, slowly! Haha!I recently swung in here to start off the night before heading into one of the local clubs. Shared a few glasses of wine with a friend. We partnered our glasses with some bread and butter as we caught up in the space. No loud music or noise makes for great, easy, intimate conversation.Highly recommend if you're into trying new wines as their selection is very impressive.“
“This place is the #1 thing I miss about living in Los Angeles. Pro tip, buy 2 fish tacos, they each come with 2 tortillas. Leave the outer tortilla on your plate. The tacos are so generously stuffed that enough will fall out on your empty tortilla to make another taco!“
“A small spot with some really high quality fresh fish. Plates are small, which keeps things fun and interesting - you can order a lot! It also means the price can run up quickly, so be prepared and perhaps not overly hungry. Still, these plates were all delicious, fresh, and light.“
“Good seafood! Came here on a thursday night at 7pm and it wasn't packed at all. Come here before it gets too popular, because I can see this place blowing up. Shrimp Aguachile: I recommend waiting for the shrimp to marinate and cook in the lime juice first. When the platter first arrived the shrimp didn't taste as good but as the dinner went on the shrimp was sweeter and delicious at the end. Octopus Taco: Tender octopus, the sauce was a little too sweet for my taste but my friend enjoyed it the best. Sirloin Steak Taco: My favorite taco. Tender meat, yummy sauce, and cheese, you can't go wrong. Fish Taco: Not my favorite fish taco but you can tell the ingredients are very high quality. I think they need a hot sauce to add to this. Kanpachi Ceviche: Solid, not the best I had, but still fresh and tasty. Needs a hot sauce for sure!“
“It was my first time here celebrating my daughter's birthday It was an Excellent Experience the food was delicious and the service was so friendly and respectful. The atmosphere was very nice I will go back and recommend to my family and friends ? I almost forgot that the Cheff was amazing !!“
“I came here for my partner's birthday and we had an amazing time! The service is top notch and the food is delicious. The ambiance is intimate and romantic, making it great for date night or gathering with close friends. If you're looking for a mature environment with great food, I highly recommend.“
“My wife and I came by here for a family get together and had a blast. The food was absolutely delicious. We love sides and had the Mac & cheese, collard greens and my favorite, the black eyed peas and rice aka The Rolling Johns. The owners really make the place special, and we were fortunate enough to have a quick conversation with one of the owners Chef. You can feel the love in the food and the building. Hands down the best soul food I’ve had in Los Angeles.“
“This store/restaurant is excellent. The selection of fish and seafood is exceptional. If you purchase fish and seafood to prepare at home or the prepared meals and items from their kitchen, you will not be disappointed.I believe this store supplies fish and seafood to many local restaurants as well.I have purchased fish and seafood to prepare at home, but since their cooks are so skilled, I find buying meals and prepared items easier and better tasting.I can recommend the shrimp cocktail, the trout meal (which they can prepare with a variety of flavorings and cooking methods) as well as the fabulous lobster Bisque. You can't go wrong buying your fish and seafood here. If you call in your order for prepared food, it will be ready for you when you arrive. There is also a small seating area if you order food and want to eat it there. There us a small parking lot with free parking next to the store. The only time you many find crowds here would be around a holiday.“
“Can't possibly recommend this place enough! ? I am actually a little embarrassed it took me this long to find The Seafood Shop when 1.) I LOVE sashimi & 2.) I already knew about LA Seafood Direct. After many months of denying myself sashimi because the salmon prices at my usual stores are now out of my comfort zone (not to mention the tuna was always a coin toss as far as freshness goes), I actually stumbled upon this shop when trying to find the hours for LA Seafood Direct - that's when I saw a photo of a sign on their door advertising their "new retail shop." I was so excited to go, I ended up stopping in just hours after I saw that haha.Prices are astonishing low for how high the quality is. The sashimi grade wild salmon is only like $17.99 a lb, & it is so incredibly fresh & delicious you almost can't believe it. The tuna at $25 a lb is also a steal when you take quality into consideration. Some other places miiiight have marginally cheaper tuna, but I promise you it won't be anywhere near as satisfying or tasty as what you can get here!Besides other fresh & frozen seafood, they also carry a nice selection of Smoking Goose products, some cheeses, caviar, & condiments. There's also some prepared foods & ready to eat sashimi. Service is always extremely friendly & knowledgeable.I love this place so much & am always looking forward to my next visit! Go support these guys! ❤️“
“I ordered the special green posole with chicken--so delicious! It had a bit of a kick to it, which I loved! Hubby and I shared an organic Magarita flight and we enjoyed sampling the different flavors--both of us liked the cucumber/jalepeno one the best. We also shared the chicharones appetizer, which were so tasty--hot and crispy and came with green salsa for dipping. They were still crackling when they came to our table. We practically polished off the whole basket!! Hubby also ordered the pork chop dinner with beans and rice--he said the pork chop was amazing! Our server was so attentive and made our whole experience there very enjoyable!“
“Cute little neighborhood spot. Came in on a rainy day. Had the spot to ourselves for a little while. Super cozy inside. Got the white negroni and eastside. Delicious! The lobster roll (warm) is absolutely heavenly. The branzino was crispy and juicy and well seasoned. The smores tart is really a stand out to me. Definitely worth the trip!“
“The food was so good that I totally forgot to take a picture. We stopped by around 8 pm on a Friday night, there was no line and we got seated pretty fast, service was friendly and phenomenal. The ambiance was nice and neat, I like the decoration. We ordered muscles and king crabs and it was so good as we requested mild and it came out pretty good. I highly recommend this new place.“
“This is a authentic Peruvian friendly and family oriented restaurant in LA. The Loma Saltado doesn’t even need extra salt. It is well seasoned and the flavors are on point. The owner has been in the area for 40 years and people have come to this place for a homie meal.“
“Jolly Oyster is located in Citizen Public Market. There's counter seating and also plenty of communal seating inside, outside, and on the rooftop. The area can get quite busy during weekend meal hours.I ordered one thing. The baked oysters were really good. $20 for 1/2 dozen and you can pick whichever flavors you want. I split this with a friend and tried the cacio e pepe, habanero lime, and French onion. All were delicious. I heard the kimchi was really good too. The cashier was very friendly. I definitely want to come back and try other items on their menu.“
“We love this place for a sunny lunch/brunch on the weekends to grab a burger, some drinks and the kale salad we love. You can’t beat the prices and being able to catch some sun in a non pretentious manner. Not giving 5 stars because the girl working the bar has been consistently rude and doesn’t seem to enjoy her job which is kind of a buzz kill but otherwise 5 stars ✨“
“i was lucky to get served by rosalio! great guy, has very high work ethic and creates such a good vibe to those he serves?we got here a little less than an hour left before closing but we were still welcomed ✨we kept it classy with the calamari as our appetizer and the sauces they came with were pure perfection ?i got the shrimp scampi with no cheese because i am a proud cheese hater ?️ i’ve had shrimp scampi before this one felt a lot more homemade, though i personally felt like the garlic butter sauce was a tad bit too salty for my liking but it was still edible (:my friend got the stuffed shrimp w rice and i didn’t ask for his opinion on it but he licked the plate empty so im going to assume it was good rosalio let us know they’ll only sing happy birthday if the birthday person agrees and i thought that was very thoughtful! prevents avoidable tantrums to the younger birthday folks who don’t want all the attention ?“
