50 Best Seafood Restaurants in Orlando

“Papa Llama, 2840 Curry Ford Road, Orlando- 4-Stars Michelin Recommended- Bib Gourmand! Peruvian immigrants, Kevin and Maria Ruiz, say they founded Papa Llama in 2016 as an experimental pop up and opened the doors of this location in August 2020. In 2022, they earned the Michelin Guide's coveted "Bib Gourmand" award for establishments that serve good food at reasonable prices so naturally, I got excited. Paulina, my server, was well prepared and knowledgeable, making for an auspicious beginning in a gorgeous environment featuring good prices for dishes that could be made to satisfy both carnivores and herbivores alike. I ordered the entire family style menu which was, according to Papa Llama, "designed to be tasted together, shared, and fought over." So much food for just over a hundred dollars. The prices may have been cheap but the taste and quality of (most) victuals valieron un Perú! A hearty Big Boy Thank You (Sulpayki!) to Kevin and Maria and the culinary dactylograms of their ancestors, on this amazing cuisine (Somaq Mihuna!). The first item on the menu was Olives--whole green Castelvetrano olives marinated in house with aji panca--which were so delectable I could eat them all day. Next, the Red + Gold Beets, a minty beet salad with honey ají amarillo vinaigrette, queso fresco, and candied pistachio, which started out smooth and creamy and ended with a pleasantly piquant bite. Papas a la Huancaína followed, a fingerling potato dish with spicy aji amarillo cream, wakatay (black mint) salsa verde, and beef chicharron, topped with a fried egg. The potatoes themselves were not the star, but the combination of flavors in the sauce were amazing, unctuous but smooth. Papa Llama carries a long list of natural wines, more wines than food items, actually. That evening, I chose the Yuzu Sake, and may I say, "Holy smokes!" How refreshing after consuming so many peppers. The rest of the dishes I would give 4.5 to 5-Stars, EXCEPT for the side of frozen Sysco French fries which almost ruined an otherwise stellar meal. There are over 300 kinds of potatoes in Peru. Over 300! Perhaps in the United States we don't have the same abundance as found in El Valle Sagrado (the Sacred Valley) but, por favor, do not stoop to this! The Big Boy says, "Eat here. All the authentic Peruvian flavors at Papa Llama are 5-Star, but skip the fries, which are a corporate conglomerate frozen food disappointment."“

“My wife and I tried this place for the first time it was so delicious! We ordered the dim sum (black truffle siu mai, steamed pork ribs, abalone shrimp and pork, soup Dumpling, and the seafood soup) and oolong tea. also Erni was our server and he was great, friendly, and attentive to our request for condiments and ect. We recommend this place to everyone.“

Nothing covering up for lack of authenticity, it is my favorite spot for Peruvian cuisine which I find fresh, aromatic, protein rich and packed with flavor.

“OK, so the atmosphere is not that great very limited seating air conditioning wasn’t working when we were there so the door had to stay open and a fan was on having said all that I’d go there 1 million times over I had the prize shrimp and it was some of the best I have ever had and the crab bisque was delectable. “Brittany was an amazing and attentive server. Crabcakes were delicious. Atmosphere was warm, but the actual temperature was cold so I kept my outside jacket on while we dined. I love that they had a free special treat (Bang Bang Shrimp) for veterans on Veterans Day. And on top of that, there was a 10% discount for veterans, which is offered every day. “We were in from St Louis staying at Universal..we got a Lyft to go out to a local restaurant on a hunt for a seafood boil..we found THE BEST SEAFOOD BOIL EVER at Mr. & Mrs. Crab!!! My daughter was over the moon! We did the build your own and it was absolutely perfect with crab, shrimp & lobster tail! We picked the sauce and we opted no seasoning/spice, you get to pick your flavor and spice level separately!!.. SO DELICIOUS!!! All of it, including potatoes and corn were cooked to perfection! The staff were so friendly and welcoming! The food was ready fairly quick, not much of a wait at all! The place is decorated in a cute nautical theme! “Hands down the best oyster place in Orlando. Inly downside is It’s a small restaurant and it’s not fancy or too appealing inside. But that all adds to the theme. If you sit at the bar you can get the bucket specials which is a great deal on oysters and they chuck it in front of you. The oysters are always fresh, great tasting, and big in size. Other than the oysters, the peel and eat shrimp steamed and wings are delicious.“

As we are from England it’s a very rare chance we would be able to visit. We have heard about the forest gump quiz but unfortunately our server didn’t do this with us. “It's a great take-out spot for 'boil' style seafood. I love Franks! I like the shrimp combo with potato, cob-corn and boiled egg. If they have lobster tail, grab that too! My sister loves the crab legs.

I've been going here for about nine years now and it's always clean and the family staff are super friendly. The area has some character, but don't let that dissuade you from stopping in. Just be sure not to let your bags tilt on the way home or you'll spill some butter.“

“Hands down the best seafood I have had in a very long time. I was lucky to try this great food at a food truck Friday. The chicken and shrimp, my wife and 3 year old enjoyed. I went with the shrimp and crab. It was amazing. Fresh cooked to order. It came with potatoes, sausage and an ear of corn all smothered in this amazing homemade butter.I could go on and on about how great this meal was. And normally I don’t write about food, but this deserves 5 stars and more.I hope they are back in my town again next month because I really want to try the lobster.Great customer service and great people all around.
