“Great Food, But Way Too Loud The food and service were both excellent — no complaints there. Unfortunately, the live band playing downstairs was so loud we couldn’t have a conversation and had to keep asking our server to repeat himself. Two nearby tables left because of the noise. If you're hoping for a peaceful early dinner, skip the 4:30 PM time during happy hour music. Great restaurant, but the volume ruined the vibe.“

“This place is great for take out and has generous portions. My wife and I split a meal and it was just the right portions. This location is more for takeout than dining in with only a handful of tables. They were doing a good business for a Monday night. The counter ordering process was fast and efficient. The food was tasty and well prepared. There is a reason L&L Hawaiian Barbecue is successful and that's because they do things right!“

“Randomly saw this on google and gave it a shot last week and I was BLOWN AWAY! The absolute best food on Maui. Their fish is insanely fresh! I went 3 times during my short stay and the quality was 10/10 each time. Can’t wait to come back, thinking about that Hamachi Lover’s roll everyday since :)“

“Overall OK, but not up to our normal experience with Merriman's restaurants. Mai-tais are the same and fantastic, but we were a little disappointed with the food. My fish was cold and the green beans were a little under cooked. Not awful, just not up to Merriman's standards. Service was OK but not really great.“

“We went for dinner and put our name on this list and went to bar. Ignored and then when others came and sit beside us they were greeted and were assisted asap. Im not one throw race card but it seemed very prevalent...politely left and went next door to Lelani and was treated great and like a valued customer! please do better Hula grill!“

“Half of my hotel stay was a 5/5 but it was bought by new owners for the other. I booked this hotel stay because it was the only privately owned hotel I could find in Maui. There was so much attention paid to honouring and celebrating Hawaiian culture, from the food to the amazing cultural centre. All staff was friendly and I had an incredible experience with the cultural centre staff who were always happy to answer any questions I had and share their own personal experiences. My farewell lei ceremony was a moment I'll never forget. I had a great Hawaiian meal at Hui Hui and halfway through my stay the hotel was abruptly bought and rebranded to Outrigger. Hui Hui is now going to be "Maui Brewing Co" and I can only hope that the new owner preserves what makes this place special - the cultural centre, the staff, and honouring/celebrating Hawaiian culture.“

“We came here for tomohawk Tuesday and it was great! Highly recommend it was a coursed meal with shareable Caesar salad followed by the tomahawk(we got two orders of the dinner so each tomahawk was shared by three of us) and was served with mashed potatoes and broccolini. The broccolini was also really yummy and was crispy with a little citrus on it (had to give a shout out!). And then ends with a shareable dessert of ice cream and waffle. We also got the calamari and potstickers to start that were also yummy. Great service and easy to get to!“

“Our experience was magical, thank you to all of the staff especially our server, Kaipo. The food service and view/location were top notch. The service was the highlight of the evening. I did a lot of research before choosing this luau and I am so glad I chose this one. I highly recommend. I couldn't believe how delicious the food was and the portions were huge. It was so much food also an open bar, including nonalcoholic versions of all of the drinks. The scenery was absolutely magical. We had such a beautiful evening and I am so appreciative of the staff. They wait on you hand and foot and I had better service here than you get in a five star restaurant. My water was never even half empty.... everyone works so hard here and you can tell they love what they do. I just can't say enough great things about this luau.“

“The butterfish was exceptional. Didn't need the onion on top though. My husbands filet mignon was cooked perfectly also did not really need and sauce on it. All the sides were good and it was a quiet early dinner we really enjoyed. Used to go to Mamas fish house but they just lost their touch a couple years ago. . The crème brûlée was the perfect ending“

“Our dinning experience was good, I had the Loco Moco and it was a hit, 5 stars. My wife had a crispy chicken dish and the chicken was a little tough. So she was a little disappointed. We had a wonderful server, very friendly. We were eating during happy hour which raised the noise level.“

“We started with cocktails which we amazing. I had mango mojito my husband had the special markers mark whiskey made for Roy's. Not sure about the brand. It had ginger beer too. Both drinks were great. Appetizer was coconut shrimp. Tender and flavorful. Dinner was Mac crusted ono and mamas Yama meatloaf. Both were on point. Too full for dessert. I felt as if a lot of the staff had worked there a long time. They had confidence and a ease in performing their jobs yet were on top of their game. No slacking. The guy who served our food was picking it up and moving fast to deliver it but took time to explain what we ordered. We will be back!!“

“I eat a lot of locomoco. I mean a LOT of locomoco. Every chance I get.

And this was hands down the best locomoco I've ever had. It sounds crazy, but the seasoning in the patty and the gravy is just delicious. The option to get fried rice instead of white rice is nice, too.

“Stopped in right at opening on Friday, got the teriyaki steak and Korean BBQ. Both meals were cooked to order and fantastic. My steak was cooked to order perfectly. I also ordered an egg roll which was very tasty! The restaurant has bar seating and tables outside as well. I haven't been in several years and am so happy they are still here serving great food. It's affordable, filling and good!“

“Seriously the best place on ALL levels. Get there when they open at 11:00 as it gets very busy. There was a line out the door when we were there. Reasonably priced and great to take out for a day at the beach. We had an assortment of food items as we went a few times on our stay in Kahana. Lobster Bisque - Made fresh and it is the best I have ever had Poke - Fresh and delicious. By far the best I have ever had Shrimp Cocktail - You cant go wrong with a classic favorite Fish & Chips - nicely fried - not greasy and large portion Grilled/Fried Fish Tacos - They were both equally delicious and large portions Oyster Shooter - I could have had a dozen Seaweed Salad - Fresh and great flavor Crab Cakes - OMG The piece de resistance though was was the fresh Mahi Mahi that we barbequed. We used the 10 minute soy ginger marinade and it was better than outstanding. All of the workers are so nice and helpful. They work hard and take care of you from start to finish. Thank you Jim and crew for sharing your food and hospitality. You bet I will be back on my next visit to Maui. Mahalo!“

“Great poke. We loved the Lahaina heatwave on nachos. Whalers village was extremely crowded on a Sunday and every restaurant on the ground floor had an hour long wait. Surprisingly this place had less customers that day and very quick service.“

“Really beautiful. They have 3 labeled vegan options. The onion rings, the french fries, and the local farm mixed lettuce salad. There is an option to add a garden patty to the salad, but the garden patty is not labeled vegan. They also have a tofu and vegetable stirfry which comes with potato macaroni salad so I think that’s why it’s not labeled vegan, perhaps it could be made Vegan.“

“During our stay we tasted the chicken tenders, quesadillas, piña coladas, fries, Prosecco, soft serve and all were great for a pool day. Really great fries! You can scan the barcode for the food/drinks to be delivered to you poolside as well. Friendly staff and great snackies!“
