“Great Food, But Way Too Loud The food and service were both excellent — no complaints there. Unfortunately, the live band playing downstairs was so loud we couldn’t have a conversation and had to keep asking our server to repeat himself. Two nearby tables left because of the noise. If you're hoping for a peaceful early dinner, skip the 4:30 PM time during happy hour music. Great restaurant, but the volume ruined the vibe.“

“This was the best sushi we’ve tried so far. We stopped here once just to try it, and it was so good that we came back again for more sushi and poke. “We are shocked that this restaurant only has a 4.2 on Google reviews, possibly because they are only 2 years old, but they really have their act together. We’ve been coming to Hawaii for 43 years. We are hard-core foodies that have enjoyed some of the best restaurants on Maui, including Merriman’s (Ulu is related) and Mama’s.

Ulu sets a new high water mark for us. The location at the Westin overlooking the beach is Incredible. The food was simply outstanding and the service impeccable (Kate you were Awesome). This is now our number one go to spot when we visit.

If you want great food and a magical experience, definitely give them a try. It’s getting hard to find solid reviews because so many people post lots of pictures but make inane comments. Hopefully this one is helpful. 🌝“

“We came here for tomohawk Tuesday and it was great! Highly recommend it was a coursed meal with shareable Caesar salad followed by the tomahawk(we got two orders of the dinner so each tomahawk was shared by three of us) and was served with mashed potatoes and broccolini. The broccolini was also really yummy and was crispy with a little citrus on it (had to give a shout out!). And then ends with a shareable dessert of ice cream and waffle. We also got the calamari and potstickers to start that were also yummy. Great service and easy to get to!“

“We started with cocktails which we amazing. I had mango mojito my husband had the special markers mark whiskey made for Roy's. Not sure about the brand. It had ginger beer too. Both drinks were great. Appetizer was coconut shrimp. Tender and flavorful. Dinner was Mac crusted ono and mamas Yama meatloaf. Both were on point. Too full for dessert. I felt as if a lot of the staff had worked there a long time. They had confidence and a ease in performing their jobs yet were on top of their game. No slacking. The guy who served our food was picking it up and moving fast to deliver it but took time to explain what we ordered. We will be back!!“

“Roy’s is set on the Ka’anapali golf course. The inside of the restaurant leaves a little to be desired. It’s very basic. Some of the other reviews state it being bright and louder, which I would say is accurate. Feels like a slightly upscale clubhouse restaurant.

That being said, everyone that helped us that evening were very nice and accommodating. They made you feel like you were in a fancy restaurant. Our server, Christina, was fantastic.

The food, including the appetizers and main course, were delicious. Our table enjoyed the calamari, bao buns and beet salad to start. Then we had the butterfish, macadamia crusted catch, which was Mahi, tiger shrimp, ribeye and fish/shrimp duo. We all enjoyed our meals.

As with any of the other “elevated” restaurants on the island, you will want to make a reservation.“

“Excellent attentive kind service we were all so impressed by this little treasure in the neighbourhood! Couldn't have been better service! Food was very good. I was sad the prime rib and kalbi ribs were sold out at 7 pm. But did enjoy the garlic shrimp with Mac salad and white rice. My friends were also fans of the grilled mahi sandwich and tempura mahi sandwich. We will def be back!“

“The food and atmosphere are incredible. Service was good except we asked for waters and they did not come. My wife finished her wine and he came back to see if she wanted another, she did but said not as we were also asking for the waters. He seemed a little upset that we were not ordering more wine. When the waters did eventually arrive we then ordered drink refills. I suspect this was simply a one off on the service and we will definitely be back in the future.“

“Seriously the best place on ALL levels. Get there when they open at 11:00 as it gets very busy. There was a line out the door when we were there. Reasonably priced and great to take out for a day at the beach. We had an assortment of food items as we went a few times on our stay in Kahana. Lobster Bisque - Made fresh and it is the best I have ever had Poke - Fresh and delicious. By far the best I have ever had Shrimp Cocktail - You cant go wrong with a classic favorite Fish & Chips - nicely fried - not greasy and large portion Grilled/Fried Fish Tacos - They were both equally delicious and large portions Oyster Shooter - I could have had a dozen Seaweed Salad - Fresh and great flavor Crab Cakes - OMG The piece de resistance though was was the fresh Mahi Mahi that we barbequed. We used the 10 minute soy ginger marinade and it was better than outstanding. All of the workers are so nice and helpful. They work hard and take care of you from start to finish. Thank you Jim and crew for sharing your food and hospitality. You bet I will be back on my next visit to Maui. Mahalo!“

“I have been going to the fish market next door for years and Miss Arepas is also great. This is my first time trying Okazuya and I will be back. I asked about the sausage sandwich and she said “nobody orders that to be honest.” So of course I tried it. So good! The bread is so soft and the marinara sauce tastes fresh and homemade. Very tasty and the fries were delicious, crispy and perfectly seasoned. It is an off-the-wall order for a place that is stated as Asian on Google but they have a ton of variety on their menu.“

“Wailele Luau was hands-down the best luau we’ve experienced. We went on Wednesday evening with a group of 21, and everything was seamless and incredible. The performers were amazing, and we loved learning about the culture and stories behind the dances—not just watching a show, but truly experiencing it. Every performance was captivating, and our entire group (kids and adults) was fully entertained. If you’re choosing one luau, make it Wailele. Highly recommend!“

“The vegetable and tofu stir fry is excellent. The cauliflower had that wonderful, subtle charred flavor that comes from stir frying at high heat. The pizza from kid’s menu was pretty tasty as well. Overall they have decent vegetarian options. I’m pleasantly surprised how much better the food is here compared to the two neighboring Westins.“

“During our stay we tasted the chicken tenders, quesadillas, piña coladas, fries, Prosecco, soft serve and all were great for a pool day. Really great fries! You can scan the barcode for the food/drinks to be delivered to you poolside as well. Friendly staff and great snackies!“

“I’m pretty fussy about Poke and didn’t expect to like this as much as I do given its location in the pretty uninteresting food court at whaler’s village, but we’ve now been 3 times on 3 different trips to Maui. We always get the big kahuna Maui Signature bowl with ahi and I’m always impressed with the quantity and quality of the Poke which is always so fresh, soft, and with very little sauce. I love that it’s very ‘pure’ but you also get many other toppings in the bowl too - great combination. Highly recommend for taste and great value.“
