“We were indifferent to Mora when it first opened several years ago. The food was ok but not great. We went back for the first time in years a few weeks ago and were absolutely delighted by everything. We returned on Sunday afternoon and continue to be bowled over inspite of the noisy laughter coming from a couple of women in a corner booth.“

“Went here for a date night and it was excellent. The quality and quantity of food was appropriate for the price point and the food was excellent. Another highlight was the sake. They had a great selection that paired with the food and the server was very knowledgeable and helpful. Overall if you want a laid back omakase with quality food, go here“

“Hands down the best meal I have ever eaten. If you’re looking for quantity this is not it but if you relax and let your taste buds guide you it’s. Next level. Great service and food. Way too expensive though but it’s an experience… 5 starts“

“A light evening at this relative central location. Great sushi pleasant store , very colorful but chill, one thing I didn’t expect was the floor was a little slippery , but looked clean may just be the type of tiles used or my shoe . Staff was pleasant and welcoming. Love the anime’s/gaming theme to store and names for the type of rolls, you could tell it was thought through and deliberate. Time between order and receiving the meal was quick …. I loved the Mario roll and crab Rangoons were more ish (would go back for this) .
Ultimately a Great experience and left comfortably full but not stuffed worth the spend??
Parking: It really depends on on time you go but the seemed to have a bunch of street paid parking relatively easy to access“

The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable—especially considering how much food you get. It’s perfect for takeout, and everything is always beautifully packed and ready to enjoy. I highly recommend this place to any sushi lover. Definitely one of my favorite spots!“

“Fantastic Service and Delicious Sushi!
I had an amazing experience at this sushi restaurant! The waitresses were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced our dining experience.
The food was outstanding—the soup was rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious, making for a perfect start to the meal. I also tried the avocado roll, which was exceptionally fresh and of the highest quality. The avocado was perfectly ripe and creamy, complementing the sushi beautifully.
Overall, this restaurant delivers both excellent service and top-notch sushi. I will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!“

“Wow!!! What a great meal - the hand rolls were all different and all delicious. Enjoyed the spice blend on the edamame as well. Drinks were tasty and creative. The choices for hand rolls were plentiful and presentation was well done. Service was very good as well. As our server said "fatty tuna is where it's at" - so we saved those for last. Great ending to a wonderful meal. Will be back.“

“The 17 course Omakase was exceptional, the service was on point. they have the timing down to a science. It is a hidden gem. You are transported into the 90s, it almost like a 90's hip hop speakeasy. It is truly a restaurant that is one of a kind.“

“I’ve been here twice for lunch and dinner. Both times the fish was perfect. Nigiri and Sashimi that is top of its class (fresh, large portions, perfectly prepared). This is one of the best sushi spots in Chicago and the prices are more reasonable than everywhere else (local or in the city). The Nigiri/Sashimi lunch is only $16 and very large. I had 12 different cuts of fish for dinner. I will definitely be back. Great food, great service, well done! Highly recommended.“

“Best Sushi Restaurant on the planet. Not only was all the food superior than any other Sushi restaurant I've been to. My family and I had a feast.(I mean all the food was good). Very reasonable prices as well. The most astonishing fact about this restaurant was the host (Quam) his amazing knowledge of food and customer service was unlike any other. The Ice cream desert was mind blowing. You don't have to take my word for it, but I guarantee you, you won't find another Sushi restaurant in the city of Chicago as good this one. The ambiance of this establishment is very warm and pleasant. I highly recommend this place for family gatherings, and with people you want to share a special food feast with. It's pure laughter and joy. Thank you Quam for your kind recommendations on food selections. My family and I had the time of our lives, as if we were on vacation. Thank you! "Fresh Shushi Chicago" is a gift to eating out.“

“Great place. The Onigiri and takoyaki were great to start with and then all the rolls were the perfect thing to split for the table. Our consensus was our favorite was the black ranger with orange and red close behind. We also tried the pink and green and while they weren't top 3 for us, still delicious and we finished them all. Great spot and BYOB was fantastic too.“

“We were really excited to check out a new sushi place in our neighborhood, but honestly it was fine. We sat at the bar and ordered a few appetizers during happy hour. The miso soup was excellent! However, I think the bartender forgot about us for almost a half hour before we could order the rest of our meal. And we were one of 3 couples at the bar.
The fish itself was good (not bad), but I was underwhelmed. We paid 20 dollars for a maki rolls that was essentially shrimp tempera with a little salmon on top.“

“The best place in Chicago for Omakase. There were several courses of the freshest fish many of them from Japan. We left feeling full and enjoyed every one of the courses. It was expensive but you get what you pay for. It was very competitive in my mind even to good Omakase places in Japan.“

“I’ve come here a few times now since they opened and I can confidently say it’s some of the best Japanese food I’ve ever had. There takoyaki especially is the best in the city, probably in the Chicago area in general. I’ve had both their spicy tonkatsu ramen and black garlic ramen and the black garlic is my favorite of the two but they’re both very good. My wife tried their lunch special recently and was a huge fan. I’m hoping to come here for years to come so do yourself a favor and give them a try.“
